This jacket was the best investment I've ever made. Incredibly warm (including while wearing in the snow) and amazingly comfortable. Great quality of fabric and stitching. Something that's going to last a lifetime! I love it so much I ordered my daughters Carhartt jackets.
Runs very large. I ordered the smallest size I could and it is still huge on me.

I really like the coat and I want to rate it 5 stars but I can’t. The zipper is so rough and hard to zip up. This is the second coat in a year I purchased (husbands and mine) that both of them had a zipper problem.

Been wearing this same jacket for nearly 10 years. It is amazing and warm. Everything still functions with VERY minor fraying (simply because I beat the crud out of it.) Only issue is if you wear a western hat, the hood can get in the way. Next jacket will be one without a hood!!
Returned it. Usually I wear M or S, but the chart vs the description were to much for me to wrap my mind around. So I went large. Want to wear hoodies under. WAY to boxy and big. No way I could maneuver my job dressed as the stay puffed marshmallow man lol
This is a nice jacket. Very durable and comfortable. It will be even more comfortable once it is broken in. Right now the material is a little stiff. Otherwise it fits perfectly and keeps me warm on very cold days.

I absolutely love this jacket. This was my first Carhartt purchase and I have fallen in love with the brand. I am very picky when it comes to comfort and choosing jackets that will actually keep you warm and this jacket does. I even purchased one for my teenage daughter because she kept taking mine.

I needed a jacket that was -actually- going to keep me warm during the winter months. I originally bought my usual size medium, but it was more like a large. I now have the size small and it fits as expected. I probably could have gotten away with an extra small, but I think it would have been too tight in the chest region. It’s not the most flattering jacket, but I don’t think it’s meant to be, and that’s not what I was looking for anyways. It is undeniably warm, with its super soft flannel lining and thick, sturdy outer shell. It is a little stiff right out of the packaging, but after a few washes and some wear time I’m sure it will be fine. I have plenty of room for layering a thick sweater or hoody underneath, although I don’t think I need to because it’s that warm. The zipper gets stuck easily, but that’s nothing a bit of bar soap can’t fix. I don’t usually spend this much money on clothing, but when I can see and feel that it’s going to last, I don’t feel as bad lol. Overall, this jacket has exceeded my expectations! I also love the fact that if you order something from Carhartt and it doesn’t work out for you, you don’t have to waste time and ink printing out a return label because one comes inside the package with what you ordered.
I bought this coat as I have a very active puppy that likes to jump and bite and chew and tear. So far it’s held up great! His training is going much slower :-)
Loved the fit and the warmth. Easy to move in. Got an extra large due to my long arms and it works fine.
I am very happy with my jacket. Being 5'10'' and 130lbs I ordered the small. The sleeves are long enough and the elastic waist band drops to just beneath my hips which prevents it from riding up. The jacket is very boxy, I can easily fit 2 of me in the body and arms (minus the elastic parts, those are perfect), even while wearing a thick winter sweater underneath. The jacket is warmer than I expected (good for me), keeping me warm with only a light sweater underneath at 0'C (32'F). The material is very tough, the zipper got stuck a bunch of times the first few days but ran much easier after a week. The inside pocket is very convenient.

I have been buying this type of jacket for years. Their like a pair of shoes one broken in they are great !!!<br /><br />Its been a good gift for my nieces and nephews.
Durable, comfortable, exactly what I wanted. I wish the sleeves were a bit longer as well as the jacket itself. The inside lining tents to collect a lot of debris and animal hair if your working with the zipper open. Stuff just seems to stick to it.

I love this jacket! The color is beautiful and it’s comfortable. My only complaint is that the zipper doesn’t work very well. It gets caught and it takes a while to zip it up because it just doesn’t work well. Otherwise, a great jacket.

I've been wearing the comparable men's jacket for years. Was happy to order a women's style. As soon as I saw it I realized the zipper was no where near the strength of the zipper I've become accustomed to. And right from the package I couldn't get it to zip up. I'm returning it as defective, but the zipper is a deal breaker for me. I want the better zipper so I guess it's back to men's styles for me.
I bought the midnight thinking it was black. It's actually like a dark navy blue. I also bought the large and the body is pretty big and poofy, but the arm length is almost too short for me. I think the medium body would fit me better, but I'm glad I got the large just for the arm length. As for the quality and durability, it's awesome and exactly what I expected from Carhartt.
I would 100% recommend this product. It does what its suppose to and keeps me warm even after being outside for a long time. The jacket fits me perfect and is true to size. It’s not to big or to small.
i would definitely reccomend it... i have to multiple people already. the only thing is that i have long arms, and it fits, but i wish that the sleeves were a tad bit longer

I've wanted a Carhartt for a long time, so I finally bit the bullet and ordered s size large. I carefully combed through the reviews and measured myself for what I thought would be an appropriate and comfortable size. When it arrived, I realized that it's MASSIVE! It fits comfortably around the hips, but the waist/chest/arms are embarrassingly huge and baggy. I could wear a parka underneath with room to spare. I recommend ordering one size smaller than you think you need.

This was picked out by my teenage granddaughter who had had one just like it previously but had outgrown it. She finds it comfortable and warm and likes the plum color offered. We gave it to her as a birthday gift. The heavy metal zipper is a little difficult to pull past the thick fabric in the seam areas, but this might become smoother as the jacket fabric softens with age. My granddaughter obviously would recommend this item (Sandstone Quilted Flannel Active Jac).

I am 5’8 and 150 lbs. After reading reviews, and using the size chart, I got the large. I was worried about the sleeves not being long enough. It is pretty big on me but I do like the length of the sleeves. The color is not what I expected from the picture on the website and the shoulders seem extra big. I do not want to spend an extra $20 in shipping fees to return it so I guess I’ll just keep it and hope the puffiness goes down like everyone says it should...
I definitely recommend this jacket to anybody in search of good, durable work clothes. It has been serving me very well and can hold up to work and play. It's particularly comfortable to ride in, which I was worried about.
I purchased this style of Jacket 10 years ago and I've worn it every winter since. I'm just now to the point that I needed a new one due to wear and tear on the wrist area- the rest of the jacket is still in great condition. I ordered the sea glass color this time and it is so pretty- I expect it to last just as long as my last one!
I love everything about this jacket. Super warm and very stylish looking, I have gotten a lot of positive comments. I would say it runs mostly true to size, perhaps a little big. I am petite (5.1, 110 pounds and I took XS). I have been wearing this jacket in 20-40 degree weather in wind and snow flurries and it has kept me warmer than my heavy puffer. I could not be more satisfied with the jacket.
Ordered women's size hoping it would be shorter sleeved and shorter down the back. X Large still too small across shoulders.<br />Zipper difficult to operate possibly would do better once broken-in ?
Very disappointed that lining of jacket is not flannel as advertised. Lining is microfiber that picks at every rough spot on hands. Will be returning the jacket next week.

I've been searching for a warm, well made every day casual jacket. It had to have a lined hood and body and have pockets inside and out. My husband is a Lineman and works outdoors for long periods in frigid weather and suggested I try a Carhartt. He has worn Carhartt bib overalls and jackets for years and always swore by their warmth and ruggedness. So, I checked out all the Carhartt women's jackets and decided the Sandstone Quiltted Flannel Active Jacket checked off all my needs. <br /><br />I received the jacket today. We are having below 20° windy weather so to test its claims I put it on (hood up) as soon as it arrived with only a light sweater beneath it and stepped outside. I didn't feel the cold, not on my neck, head, arms or body. I was amazed that a medium weight jacket could be so warm and wind resistant. It is the warmest jacket I own including a skiing parka. The material is a bit stiff but I know it will soften after washing and wearing so that's no problem.<br /><br />I couldn't be happier with my purchase! I anticipate many warm cozy years in my Sandstone Carhartt jacket. Thank you Carhartt!

This carhartt coat is great!! For years I've had a different carhartt coat that had the arctic lining, so I was worried that the lining of this new coat (quilted flannel) wouldn't be as warm as the arctic lining, but surprisingly it is. The coat also has nylon lining in the sleeves - just the body is quilted flannel. I got an extra small, and it is big on me. For reference, I'm 5'4" and 105 lbs. That said, I think it's better to have it a little too big anyways because that way you can easily layer underneath. I trap bobcats for ecological research and need a coat that can stand up to the test, and this one does! It was -20 F with wind gusting at 30 mph the other day and I stayed warm the whole time. It's not quite as durable as I'd like (already has some holes from snagging on barbed wire), but the holes can be easily patched. Overall it's a really great coat and I love the color. I couldn't ask for better!

I'm 5'4", 115 lbs, I ordered a medium, even though the online size test said small, I decided to get a size bigger. Bigger than I expected, but sleeve length is perfect, any smaller and the sleeves would be too short. Overall great quality! Would recommend

This is a warm jacket that can stand up to outdoor work. It comes in some nice colors. It’s like a zip hoodie sweatshirt, except it’s a jacket.

I love my jacket. This is my second one. The first one i bought was the same kind, but in men's so I got used to the extra shoulder room (there's a little less shoulder space in the women's.) Besides that, Its so warm and comfy, I wish i had known about them sooner. If i had, i would've bought one years ago!

The back was way to small for my shoulders making it so uncomfortable I had to return it. Extremely disappointed. Fit well everywhere else except across my back making it hard to move my arms. I’ve never had this problem with any other carhartt jackets or items.

I love my jacket. I bought the extra-small because the small wasn't available and it runs large. The extra-small fits me well, I'm usually a medium in most things. However, I wish the hood was bigger- that's the only thing that doesn't fit well.

I love my new coat! It’s so warm! I love the color (woodland). And the size is perfect! I wasn’t quite sure what size to get so went with the XL. When it arrived the tag on it said 16/18 which would have helped a lot if it were listed in the size guide. The zipper was a bit “catchy “ but is working better every time I use it, and it’s losing its stiffness too.

I really like this jacket. I recently moved from Florida to North Carolina so I didn’t really have winter attire. This jacket is very warm and comfortable too. I think it runs a little small in size though. The site recommended a small but I thought I should get a medium. I’m glad I did it fits perfect. I’m definitely happy with this purchase.

Coat fits and feels great. Definitely the most durable coat I have ever owned. Big enough for me to wear a jacket under, but not overwhelmingly large. I’m 5’10” and have long arms, so I got a large because I had tried a medium on and the sleeves felt a bit snug and short. The large is perfect and the sleeves are just the right length.

I absolutely love this jacket! It's super comfortable and a great fit (size small, 5' 7" and 130 lbs), especially lengthwise. My area is always windy and this jacket does a spectacular job blocking the wind. Water droplets also bead off. This jacket is definitely worth the price!

Love this jacket. Have had it for 6, going on 7 years and the only wear it’s showing is around the cuffs. And I wear this thing every day all winter, in the barn, to town, everywhere. Sized well, lots of room to add extra layers without being a blimp. Like the shorter length especially over my bibs, because I can still access pockets no problem. Definitely recommend this jac as an everyday workhorse.
I already knew I was going to love this jacket. But this fits perfectly and keeps me warm. Zipper started out really difficult to move but after wearing it a few times it has loosened up. I got an extra large and it is a little big but a large would’ve been way too small.
I have 38 DDDs, a thick waist and very large hips, so I bought an XXL. This style seems to fit better in the shoulders (it’s more snug) than other styles I’ve purchased in the same size, which is AWESOME because the other styles were so roomy in the shoulders, I looked like a linebacker. This jacket is warm but light enough for California fall weather, and I plan on layering with it when I visit snowy Idaho in November!
Got this for the wife and she couldn't be happier. It is strong enough for her to lay on the shop floor helping me work on the pick up, and it still looks good enough for an every day jacket to wear in town! Keeps her warm and protected from the weather! She loves it!

This is by far the best jacket i have ever owned. I live in northern idaho and it gets pretty cold and this is the only coat i have needed. Its so comfty and warm i have even came in from gathering wood or the fire and actually fell asleep with my jacket still on. Love this coat. Plenty of pocket space even has 2 inside pockets.

I have always LOVED this jacket, it's one of my favourite go to jackets. The durability is amazing for working in the barn everyday and it with holds whatever I put it through. I also love the elastic band at the bottom to keep it snug to you. All the colours are an added bonus, could use a bubblegum pink! :)

I've wanted a jacket that I can wear while working outside and this was perfect. The color options were great. I get a lot of compliments on the color (dark teal). It's a little darker in person than in pictures on the website, but I like it better in person. It is very roomy so I can wear a sweatshirt underneath on cold winter days. The waist and wrist bands are great at keeping the heat in. Overall a great jacket to work outside in so you can save yourself from ruining a nice winter jacket.

This a nice work jacket but it was waaaaay too big on me even in an XS. I'm 5'4" and 130lbs, and am usually a size S or M, but the XS in this jacket was still too wide and bulky in the shoulders, far too long in the arms, and had several inches of air between the jacket and my torso. The lining seems very warm, but not when it's that far away from your body. I felt like I was wearing my dad's Carhartt. I really wanted to love this jacket as the quality seems great, but in the end, even if I wanted to layer underneath it, it's just too large to be functional.

THE QUALITY IS TOP NOTCH DEFINITELY WORTH THE PRICE
It was time for a new jacket for winter riding. I like this because the sleeves are long enough, the cuffs close the gap between my gloves and my shirt sleeves and it's long enough. It's very warm without being too bulky.
This is my second purchase of the same jacket. I purchased one two years ago from a retail store and wanted another color. I live in northern Minnesota and retired two years ago so I wear this type of jacket almost five months of the year. The jacket is attractive and warm. It has a durable zipper and seems to be well made although the knit on the cuffs and jacket bottom of the first one do show some pilling. The only thing that keeps me from giving it five stars is inconsistent sizing. I initially ordered the same size as the jacket I already owned. It was just huge. I then went to the sizing guide on the website before I reordered and did find that to be a bit more accurate. The older jacket has the same style number on the inside tag, just a different color. I find this sizing problem with so many clothing manufacturers these days. I find something that I like and that fits but when I order what should be the same item it does not fit. Evidently they do not use the same pattern.

Zipper keeps getting stuck
I'm giving it 3 stars because of the fit of this jacket. I have the older stye of this same jacket which I've literally worn to shreds, but has a better fit, so I've been hesitant to replace it. The older style jacket has a corduroy collar and snap on hood while this one has an attached hood. This one also hangs down much further on my hips, which I do not like and feels cumbersome.
Bought this for my fiancé so she could have a warm coat during the fall and winter. It shipped and was delivered in a timely manner. It fits her perfectly and is made just like the men’s coats, but slimmer. She is definitely happy with it.

I got the teal color and I love it. I wanted a dark color so it doesn't look dirty. It's warm but not super thick.

I purchased this jacket as a gift for my sister. She is pretty happy with it but she likes more vibrant colors. She said this has the washed out look, common with Carhartt. Also, she thought it might be a little warmer than it is but she layers up anyway. That's not the fault of the jacket though. I could have purchased one with different and warmer lining. She's quite happy with the functionality of it however.

Love this jacket! Bought it to use as an outer-layer for when my boyfriend takes me out ice-fishing (not a huge fan so I gotta stay warm!) It's the perfect fit! The color is great, big enough that I can wear a sweatshirt underneath or wear it alone! Most likely going to buy another one at some point!

I love Carhartt products! I own several, which I love each and every one of. Great value, and this jacket keeps me warm even with bitter cold winds. I just wish the warranty was a bit better... I've had this jacket for 10 months, most of which were warm and I didn't wear the jacket. The zipper stopped working and the warranty doesn't cover zippers.

I first ordered a Small but it was too big for me. So I returned it, and ordered X-Small. It is very warm! <br />X-Small fitted me just right, but I found out the cuff lining on both sides were not the same. One side was same as the pictures shown above, but the other side was the opposite. The thin plastic that the jacket was in was already opened when I received it, so someone must have returned it as well? I am going to return this one and order another X-Small. Hoping the lining and structure would be fine...
Size runs smallish for winter use, where you might want a vest or sweater underneath, but tough and otherwise a good product.
I love this jacket! It's cozy and warm when the temperature drops below freezing, but it's never too hot when the temperature warms up to the 50s or 60s. Somehow, it's always the perfect temperature! And I love the color options!
Best coat out there for warmth, comfort, and durability
FIT<br />I am 5'8" 135 lbs - athletic build, ordered a size small and it was way too big. Exchanged for an XS, and that was still a bit big in the torso, but it fit much better. I have fairly broad shoulders, and the shoulder cut is too narrow for me but that is normal in XS/S sizes for me. The sleeve length and back length were fine, which is something I was worried about when getting the XS based on reviews here. <br /><br />ZIPPER<br />The zipper is very stiff to start with, like a lot of reviews here mention. It does seem to break in fairly quickly though, after only a few weeks and it started moving much more easily.<br /><br />Overall it seems like a great jacket with just enough stiffness to start off so that you know its made well. I would recommend trying it on in a store before choosing a size.
I really like the jacket, but it is very big for me, and I got the smallest size you can get (xs). I'm a fairly small person to be fair, but definitely wish it fit me better! Really happy with everything otherwise, should last me forever!
This coat is extremely comfortable. First day I wore it I knocked out on the bus while wearing it. Itâ??s perfect for commuters. I wish it was a bit heavier and warmer. Itâ??s great for windy days and chilly fall days but I donâ??t know how it will feel in the winter.
Bought this as a gift for my daughter. The jacket is heavy and the material is very stiff. The zipper is sticky and does not zip with ease. The sleeves are also short. A bigger size would had drown her. The sleeves just seem to run short. The plus side is the jacket is very warm.

Great jacket but runs a bit short, so that I have to pull it down regularly. Sleeves fit great and there is no bunching at the cuff. Color is a bit of a greyish purple.
I have same jacket just older color , I got last year This is a nice warm thinner jacket I like it because it is not a bulky as my old carhart. It gets more comfortable after every washing and the zipper sticks the first couple months until i got it broke in and then the zipper was alot easier to zip up. It is super warm but like i said thinner so it is not bulky and hard to move. I love the colors of this jacket I'm ordering another in the teal. I got the light blue last year. I do find the light colors it is hard to keep them clean but they wash up very very well. I was worried about shinking but after first wash it never shank again. I work horses in mine and ride shows and it looks new still after all the dirt and washing. Very worth the money to invest in a good coat you can be active in. I will buy carhart over and over again No other coats compare ever!
I love the carhart coats. I had bought one several years back. I still have it and it is the best coat I have ever had. I am planning on buying a new this year.
I'm 5'8" 140lbs and ordered a medium. The sleeves are long enough with extra length. The bottom of the jacket goes past my waist, just like in the model picture. The jacket is a bit bulky and square. But it's so nice and warm i'm willing to look past that.
I've envied my hubby's Carhartt for years and was thrilled to find a women's version. I was so disappointed to discover that the zipper on the women's version was such poor quality - noticeably lighter weight and less easy to use than the one on the men's jacket. I tried on each every women's size M and L, looking for a zipper that worked. I thought it seemed flimsier than the one on my hubby's jacket, but wasn't sure till I checked in the men's section. Sure enough, they had a way better, heavier-duty, easy to use zipper than on the women's jacket. I bought a men's medium, which is just a bit too long in the arms, but has room for a heavy sweater and has a GOOD zipper that worked the first time I tried it!<br /><br />Shame on Carhartt for short-changing the women's work jacket!
I got an XS in the dusty rose/dark pink last winter and I am 5'4, 110lbs. It's cozy but the material makes it a bit stiff but I understand it is for durability. I love the elastic waist because I always have a problem with wind blowing in. My biggest complaint with this jacket is the gigantic hood and how open the neck area is when I'm wearing it (scarf use is a hassle). <br /><br />Definitely an excellent jacket for working outdoors but I am going to buy the Sherwood version and see if the detachable hood and sherpa collar solves my windy neck issues. Overall I definitely recommend this jacket, very cozy!!

I purchased my Carhartt jacket about two weeks ago. I bought the dark brown color.<br /><br />I am from Michigan, and we had an unexpected snowstorm that left six inches on my front porch, driveway, back porch, and sidewalk. Initially, I was skeptical as to how this Carhartt jacket would hold up to the elements. So, I thought that wearing it while shoveling the snow would be a good way to put it to the test and to break the jacket in.<br /><br />To my pleasant surprise, the jacket held up amazingly well! I was wearing a thin crewneck sweatshirt underneath and jeans. The jacket held up to the elements and protected me from the bone-chilling wind. I did not feel cold at all-- in fact, I was sweating. The quilted flannel really does its job very well. The hood kept my ears and head warm. The ribbed wrist and hip cuffs kept my body heat in.<br /><br />I have owned several winter jackets, and I feel that this Carhartt has far surpassed every one of them. It is truly a no-nonsense, rugged work jacket, quite unlike the more expensive and less warm North Face jackets. <br /><br />In my opinion, it is worth every dollar. You will not regret purchasing this active jacket. For reference, I am 5'3", about 120 lbs. I bought the jacket in size small. I was debating between the extra small and the small size, but ended up choosing the latter (small). The extra small felt a little bit tight around my chest area when I had it zipped. The small size is perfect. It does not feel too loose, nor does it feel too tight. There is still a good amount of room in the chest area when fully zipped, and I can also wear a beanie underneath the hood, with room to spare. <br /><br />The only issue that I might mention is the zipper. Initially, it is is a bit stiff and difficult to zip, but once the jacket is broken in, this is no longer an issue. In a future version of the jacket, I would also like to see the hood extend out a bit more. It seems to be a short, and so when it rains or snows, the edge of the hood does not completely cover my eyes, and so I end up getting precipitation on my sunglasses. <br /><br />The fit of the jacket looks great. I am so glad that Carhartt has a women's line. <br /><br />Buy this jacket! You can't go wrong with it.
I really needed a warm work jacket, so I thought this was the right coat for me, but sadly, it is huge. The product quiz told me that at 5'2" and 120lbs I should wear a size small, so that's what I ordered. It was massive. So, I exchanged it for an extra small, also massive. I even ordered a little boy's extra large and large, both are still way too big to be functional while moving around outdoors during the winter. The coat itself is very high quality, and looks like it's built to last, but unfortunately it was just too gigantic. All of the coats are going back.
My husband and I have been wearing Carhartt jackets for years and I can honestly say this is the best one out there. The quality is impeccable, the comfort is amazing and the pockets are nice and deep. Big enough to easily fit a set of car keys, an iPod, a cell phone and just about everything else under the sun you'd ever need to shove into a jacket pocket. Our jackets have seen their fair share of two-stroke oil splashes, chainsaw induced wood chip batterings, gasoline spills,and kerosene splatters, yet every time they come out of the wash they look like brand new again. If you're looking for a die-hard work jacket, this is DEFINITELY the one for you, because you just can't kill these things!
Anyone that is new to Carhartt products have been missing out. I have owned this jacket for YEARS... live in the NE and this is always my go to jacket in the winter. Keeps me warm in snow/cold rain, and cuts the wind.<br /><br />Extremely warm, unbelievably durable. I have no visible wear on this jacket after having mine for 4 years. Well worth the money, if you consider all aspects ... durability, warm, etc..<br /><br />Highly recommend this jacket- or really any Carhartt products ( long underwear , flannels and gloves ... etc.. )
I got this jacket in October of 2014. Before then I did not really own a adult sized winter coat. I chose Carhartt because I saw how my dad (who is a farmer) has worn his Carhartt coat my whole life. I knew that this coat would block the cold winter winds in rural Illinois and keep me warm in negative temperatures. I'm so glad I bought this coat and will wear it for years to come.<br /><br />For sizing help: Im 5"3 and 125 pounds and a small fits great!

I needed a warm coat for working at the barn during fall and winter since it is not heated, but I also needed a durable coat because I work around cattle and steers. This is the warmest option Carhartt offers for women, and it really stands up! I layer long underwear under my T-shirt and jeans. With this coat, I do not need anything else. Love the extra pockets for my gloves, pocket knife, and keys. Finally! A women's coat with real pockets! I got the Dark Brown, and the picture does not do this color justice. It is a really dark brown, and very pretty (plus, it will not stain easily). I was a little hesitant about the reviews saying it is over-sized, but I do not feel that way at all. I am usually a petite extra small, and this extra small fits very well. It is not too big, but it is not too small, so I feel it is perfect for me to move around and be on my toes around the cattle.<br /><br />To help others with sizing:<br />I am 5'3" and 112 pounds and the extra small fits very well. The cuffed sleeves are great since I am short, so I do not have a problem with the sleeves being to long, but if my hands get cold, I can slip them inside the sleeve to warm up. The coat hits below my butt, which I like because it helps me stay warm. The banded bottom is very well-fitted, so no cold air can get into the coat. But, the rest of the coat is not tight-fitting, which in my opinion, is ideal because I can layer up, and still move around very easily.
I'm a 5' 2", 110lbs girl, and I got an x-small and it fits beautifully! (just to help some future buyers out there get a feel for sizes).<br />The sleeves are like an inch or two long, but I feel like that's supposed to be that way so if it's cold and I don't have gloves on, the inside of the sleeves can keep them warm cause of the insulated quilted part.<br />I love the look of this jacket and how it doesn't make you look chunky-ish! Also, this jacket will keep me extra warm in the winters when I'm out taking care of my animals.
Story of my life - always hunting for women's workwear that can keep up with the boys. Thrilled to finally get my hands on an extra small but unfortunately it's still far too big for me. The extra small still goes way below my butt and I feel like a little kid playing dress-up. An XXS would be perfect. Wish it were an option.

Great Coat. Bought it to battle yooper weather when I travel up north, and i holds up. I get compliments on the purple color a lot. I'm 5'1 and 109 pounds and I got the XS. Love the pockets inside the coat... Make it so I don't even have to carry my purse! Great coat, and excited to wear it in more!
I just got this jacket yesterday in the mail, and I was wicked excited. It was perfect timing as we got our first snow last night. The jacket is wicked warm and I love the color. My only problem with this jacket is the problem I have with every jacket. The sleeves need to be about 2" longer.<br />Companies forget that women can be tall too.<br />That is seriously the only problem I have with this jacket, otherwise love it. So Carhartt if you're reading this please consider us tall women too when you're making your jackets!
This is one of the most comfortable jackets I have ever owned. As an environmental engineer I am always out in the field, and this is a durable jacket that keeps me warm when the weather gets cold. I am 5' 5" and 130 lbs and I opted for an XS which fits with room for layers underneath but is still long enough in the torso (it seems to run a little large). I highly recommend this jacket you will love it!

I had to return this coat and purchase a men's coat. It's unfortunate that warmer coats aren't made for women. Women go in the cold also. Women get cold also. The men's I ordered is fine yet lacked the colors....
I have had this coat for 3 year. only in the past month has it started to fall apart, worn out around the sleeves and color has faded to grey. This coat keeps me warm even in -50 degree weather, with aid of a Carhartt sweatshirt. This jacket has kept me warm during early morning chores and the walk across campus to class. It is extremely an durable coat!
I bought another jacket which turned out to be way too large and returned it and took a chance on this one. I ordered this jacket in a medium and it arrived this morning. I thought it was going to be small when I looked at it, but turns out it was just the right size. Fits extremely well. I can even fit my thermal Carhartt hoodie under it. I love the way it hugs my hips and I know I'll be warm and toasty even in the coldest weather.<br /><br />Unfortunately, today's temperature in Illinois is 63 so I can't wear it today. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm looking forward to the colder weather tomorrow so I can really enjoy the warmth of this jacket.

This is my favorite jacket! It holds up to all of the outside elements and is very comfortable. I really like the inside pockets and the dusty plum color. I highly recommend this jacket. The price is a bargain for all of the use you get out of it.
Great jacket, nice to finally have a ladies cut jacket, however should of ordered the next size down, seemed to fit perfectly into the large size chart but the jacket is a little large and bulky. Still a great purchase and I'm glad to have another Carhartt jacket and the dusty plum colour is awesome.

My husband purchased me this coat for winter. I am always complaining I am cold and he said he loves his Carhartt and thought this would keep me warm. He was right! I really like this coat! I have the Dusty Plum colored one and I get a lot of compliments on the color. It is very warm and very durable. I can see this coat lasting me many years. My only cons of this coat is that when I sit down, it likes to bunch up on me in the back and rides up a bit and bulges out in the stomach area. This was my first purchase that I have made from Carhartt - and it will NOT be my last. I read a review before i made the purchase, about the zipper being a little sticky, which slightly concerned me. However, I wear this jacket every single day and all you have to do is break it in, just like the jacket itself. After about 3 weeks my jacket was broken in, and I feel like it almost got a little warmer? I work in the construction business and I go in and out all day long. This jacket is perfect for what I do, I can wear nothing but a t-shirt underneath and be completely warm in Colorado's bone-chilling winters.
I bought the wife one for Christmas. She just loves it, and looks great in it too! For Michigan winter wear, we own NOTHING but Carhartts!
Bought this jacket for wife. She likes it except for the zipper. It is very flimsy and hard to zip up and down.<br />Her previous Carhartt coats had very heavy duty zippers and were easy to use. Also she would prefer arm linings of a more slippery material such as nylon, etc. This would make it easier to get on and off.<br />Durability is unknown at this time since she has worn it for less than a month.<br />Likes the color and overall fit of the jacket.<br />Fit was downgraded because tall, medium and short options are not offered.

This jacket is a replacement for my old one that is just starting to show its 25 years. I have been extremely pleased with the durability of the old one and how well it kept me warm for all the barn and snow chores of a CT winter. As a bonus, I am delighted to finally find one made for women, as my old one is a men's size small. I relocated to the Phoenix area where it's still too warm to need the new one yet; I have no doubt it will be just as perfect and last forever.

I recently got a Carhartt coat for Christmas and I absolutely love it!! I have had Berne coats and C.E. Schmidt coats and none of them compare to my new carhartt coat. I went out today in 25 degree snowy weather and I didn't have near as many layers on that I usually do with my older coats. It was also windy today and I didn't feel any wind get through these coats. These coats are so comfortable and they fit great. I love the pockets because they are so deep and you can fit everything in them. This is the best coat ever and everyone who is looking for a coat like this should choose Carhartt.

I have been a loyal customer of Carhartt's work pants for almost ten years, so decided to buy this jacket last winter when I needed something warm to work in. I am continually satisfied with this jacket the more I wear it! It keeps me warm and comfortable on the farm during the winter, and looks good enough to go around town in (I have the dark green one). It has a great hood to keep the wind and cold off my face and the jacket itself is very wind and water resistent.<br />Also, the outside pockets are deep and the inside pockets are perfect for storing your wallet and cell phone. I also like that it fits my long torso well and never looks dirty, even though it is! This jacket has held up to a lot of wear and tear, but is also stylish and comfortable enough for play, too. I appreciate that it's not too flashy. Well worth the price!

When I took a job in a shop, although I was in the office, I still needed to be in/around the work area. The winter coat I had was inappropriate for "work" so I purchased this jacket. I am usually cold but this jacket did the job and kept me warm all the time. I also love that it keeps me dry.<br />On one of the first really cold mornings of the winter, one of the kids (ok, he's 20) that I work with didn't realize he would be going *out* on a job and only had a sweatshirt with him. Since I was staying in the office, I insisted he take my Carhartt to wear - he's small in stature. He came back after working most of the day in the wind by the water and said he was warm all day and would be purchasing the men's version ASAP.<br />Also, my 12 year old son is impossible to shop for - nothing we find is ever "cool" enough, (you know how teenagers are!) but when he saw my jacket, he said he actually liked it! So I bought him his own and felt good knowing that he would would be warm waiting for the school bus. It held up so well, I was able to hand it down to a friend's son for this winter and will be purchasing a larger one for my fast growing son.<br />I would highly recommend this jacket in both men's and women's for anyone that spends time outside.
I bought one of these coats a couple of years ago and i love it!! it is waterproof and probably the warmest coat I've ever had! it is also incredibly durable! it may not be flashy but it definitely does its intended job! i would recommend this to anyone!!

Simple jacket, simple colors, but does the job. I wear my jacket running around town or playing outside with horses. It keeps you warm, protected and clean. It is tough enough to not get damaged or ripped by the animals or barn equipment. Would pair nice with matching bibs!

Since I needed a jacket to keep me warm working outside during the winter, I decided to buy this (my first item from Carhartt) and it was the best decision I could have made in regards to what I was looking for.<br /><br />I do volunteer work outside and inside (with not heating or air-conditioning) and this jacket keeps me warm even in 28F weather with 15 MPH winds. A few weeks ago I was wearing this (and no other jackets or sweatshirts) while shoveling and I actually got a little overheated; this rarely happens, as I usually am wearing things that do not keep me warm and therefore doing physical labour warms me up instead of overheating me. One of the things I needed beside warmth was to be able to move freely and not be constricted. This jacket allows me to do just that. This jacket also has given me protection from snow and moderate (haven't worn it in pouring rain) rain. I am also very satisfied with the durability of this jacket, as there were a few times I had thought I had ripped it from having it snag on metal, but there were no rips to be found.<br /><br />My only complaint is that there is a lot of room in the stomach area and it tends to protrude, though this may not happen if I had ordered a smaller size (I ordered the size that I was according to the sizing chart)<br /><br />Overall I am very satisfied with this jacket and it has become my jacket for not only my work but also for my daily life.
I love this coat so much, Its worth every penny spent. its waterproof, very comfortable and keeps me warm in whatever harsh Winter that michigan decides to throw at us, theres no need to have you wear layers of clothes under, all you need is this and you will be warm for hours.I work outside with horses and i would reccomend it for any horseowner or who works outside, its easy to wash so dont worry about it gettting dirty! Dirt and snow are its bestfreind! So bring on the cold weather.
