I have had 5 back surgeries. One of the hardest things I do in the morning is bend over to put my boots on. Having the side zip is so helpful to me. I work in the oil industry and these boots hold up Very Good. Excellent support and stability. I recommend Timberland boots to everyone.

This product isn't durable at all, the toe part started peeling in no time. Don't waste your money on these..
Love this boot. I would recommend ordering a half size larger than normal Timberland Pro boots due to the composite toe. The felt comfortable from day one and don't have that long break in period.
Utility worker - On my feet 12. hours day and night. 100% waterproof built tough , great grip on uneven terrain. The True Grit lace up will be a staple in timberland line for a long time. Field tested and went beyond and above expectations .
These are the most uncomfortable boots I've ever owned. I've had them since February, I've maybe wore them 5 times because they kill me feet. My company buys me one pair per year, now I'm stuck with boots I can't wear.
I work in an extreme environment. Best work boot I've ever worn. Usually get 2-3 mos out of boots. These last well over a year. Only problem is I can't get them anymore!
I work on steel decks and they seem to be holding up nicely

I bought this as a gift and they really liked the boots. They usually wear a size 9.5 or 10, but the 9.5WIDE fit well.

I received these boots free as a wear- test opportunity through the company I work for. At first they were way heavy and I had pain in my knee for a few days. Once I got used to the weight, they were fine. The zipper on the sides is garbage, I received a blood blister in my finger trying to zip them up. I love the idea, but this specific zipper design doesn't work. Snug fit, comfortable. They are water proof so far, but I've only had them a couple months and only wear them a few days a week. Good product.
This boot is horrible they has worn a huge blister on the back of my heels. Then the leather on the toe cap had already worn down to the safety toe cap. I would have never expected this from timberland at all I've been getting their boots for at 8 yrs now and this is the first pair that has ever disappointed me. Oh and I've only had these boots for about 2 months and all the Timberland pro workboots I've had before these has lasted me at least 2 to 3 yrs.
Read the comments after I had already ordered so I was a little worried about the fit. These boots are a perfect fit, felt like I put me foot into a mold of my own foot. Great ankle support. They are a bit heavy though, going to try them out at work after I get the rest of my clothes from another vendor. I will agree with other reviewers that the size on the outside is like 2 full sizes in appearance, but the inside fit is perfect (for me).
I decided to give the True Grit 8 Inch a try. I was very happy with the Boondockers but my size was not available. My order arrived in 3 days as promised. I took them out of the box, put them on, and went to work. I walked 14,500 steps and these boots are sooooo comfortable. I had to readjust the right boot once during the day. My feet or back do not hurt at all. I work in the ship repair business and my daily walking surface is multiple steel surfaces, including steps, stairs, ladders, and ramps. I am looking forward to giving these boots the "real test".
Luv the design. But, sizing in these boots could be tricky. They look big from outside; but inside is a different story. I gave away my first pair, 'cuz I went full size ( 8W ) smaller instead of 1/2 smaller, dudes. This time I got 9 M. They look like 10. However, there comfortable, and I have enough room to use my prescribed insoles. They were made for work. So, don't worry if they look some what bigger on yo'. I'll keep these ones, Brothers...no doub'. Peace out.
You can go casual with this boots as well. Rugged, stylish, and comfortable. Cool combo colors, dudes. I luv the somewhat squarish front.They look and feel like a crossover, to me. No issues with the zip'. Sometimes you got to think out of the box, Brothers. I'd suggest, to go 1/2 smaller. Congratulations, Timberland Pro, for this creation...your first crossover?
Very comfortable boot after initial break in. Only complain is that when I first put them in they fit perfect really. Just enough room to be comfortable but not too bed . Now after a couple weeks of wearing them they are big! Feet feel like they're swimming in them. I ordered an 11wide as I always do in Timberlands. Comfortable but run a bit big.
Boot fits perfect. 10.5 wide. However, it's impossible to lace boot and use the side zipper to take boot off and on. I've already ordered an 11 wide to try and use the zipper. Returning the 10.5. So yes boot fits right, but the zipper function doesn't work as well as you'd like.
Work boots - really comfortable and well made
While the boot is very attractive and seems to be comfortable, it has a HUGE profile. I bought an 11 which is what I normally wear. The boot LOOKS like a size 15. A size 11 in this boot is enormous. I plan to return and get a 10.5 because this boot also runs about half a size too big. I wear an 11 in everything, but will need a 10.5 here. Apart from how comically big the boots are, they're nice.
