The FORCE® Midweight Waffle Base Layer Crewneck Top features:
Love the tops , may need to give the bottom a try ,bought one for my brother to try and now he wants more
Not very durable already has holes in it and not been worn a whole lot
a little thinner than i thought .
Great fit and feel. Warm and very comfortable. Absolutely love this shirt.
Great comfort
Excellent protection from cold
Order at least a size bigger.
Great products
Love the fit and the warmth. The thumb loop on the sleeves is a nice hidden touch. There's little to no shrinkage, and they are roomy without being baggy. Like that the back length is enough to cover my butt!
They are very comfortable and very flexible and durable
Great buy. It was on sale which caught my attention. The shirt is not a heavy shirt but is light weight and can be worn alone or layered. It does not shrink which is a huge plus.
I was very disappointed with the base force heavy weight bottoms and tops and mid weight tops I ordered from Carhartt. After only one washing and following directions, bottoms and tops had fuzz balls on them. I really expected better quality from this company. NO I would not recommend this product!!!!!
Bought a few a these a few years ago these feel like cheap thin versions of what I bought before. I can literally see right through them.
I bought this thinking it was the same hard working thermal I've been wearing for 10 years only to find out it was nothing like the 100639 style I'm use to and was expecting. It's so thin you can see through it. There are no cuffs on the sleeves and the fit was terrible. The size is also much smaller then other Carhartt shirts of the same size. These shirts were immediately returned. Sadly it seems Carhartt has stopped making the 100639 style, which is very disappointing. This shirt in comparison is a wimpy little sister version of the shirt it replaced. Fortunately I found the 100639 on Amazon. I'm. Ot sure what Carhartt was thinking but this shirt is a joke. Come on Carhartt and bring back one of ther best thermals I've ever owned, the 100639 aka K228.
Great product for the price
They’re comfortable and warm. I live in WY where winters are harsh, so I layer to work outside. I recommend Base Force underwear.
So thin I can see through it. Purchases the mid weight
I bought a medium. I'm 6' 172lbs. It fit great out of the box. After the first wash and dry, the torso shrunk like crazy. I dried it on low. It barely covers my belly button now. Before, it went down to my hips, which was great since I wanted to use this in layers while working outside. Pretty disappointing. You may want to order a size up.
Great looking shirt. Don't know about durability because I just got this one and don't own any others. I am a big person, but I'd say that the XXL runs a bit smaller than similar shirts from either Duluth Trading or Lands End.
Awesome shirt. Not too heavy, and fits great!
I wear this shirt almost everyday when It’s cool. Great product
Very comfortable, like the thumb opening.
Keep me warm and dry on my morning walks midweight was also perfect.
This is an excellent long sleeve base layer. Looks good and feels even better.
Comfortable and great fit
It was a little shorter than I expected. Mediums usually fit me this seemed a bit smaller.
Size and fit on this is true. Material is soft and comfortable. Lengths are good for tucking in as a base layer.
There was a time when we gladly paid a premium for a premium Carhartt product; however, we are unwilling to pay a premium for an absolute piece of crap made in a foreign country. In walks this shirt, the shirt that ended our 45 year bromance.

Santa brought this shirt (and hundreds of dollars of other Carhartt goodies) and much of the merchandise had loose strings (pocket already coming off on the $60 flannel shirt), but this was the final thread...straw.

Honestly, I was heading out to the range today and didn't even watch this shirt...brand new out of the package from under the tree.

I can no longer recommend any Carhartt products based on the stuff I have received recently. Sure, the hoodies are holding up, so there's that...but the rest of the stuff on which we pay a premium is just poorly made crap. There. I said it. It has to be said.
Very nice, true to size and looks grest
Good quality
Good quality and warm, runs small after a trip through the wash it’s length and overall fit was reduced.
Overall great product
GOOD FOR THE CHILLY WEATHER
Fits great and is very comfortable. Has a much softer feel on my skin than thermals that I purchased from Target. I definitely recommend this product.
Finding good quality base layers are hard to come by theses days in tall sizes ... It was nice to see Carhart fill the void ... Does the job on cold days !!!
Keeps me warm and dry. Love it.
Fits true to size, awesome buy!
I had high expectations for the quality of the shirt, but after just a couple weeks the fabric is pilling and it does not resist odor as claimed. In other respects, I like the shirt and found it useful. I was on the verge of purchasing a couple more. But the quality is not quite as advertised, so I'm going to try a different brand.
I ordered the base force mid weight crew top in large. Wasn’t even close to fitting. I’m 5’11 and 195. The base bottoms fit but I ruined them trying to rip that long to off. Lol not my day.
I have the top and bottom combo and love them! They're heavy and warm enough to wear under a t-shirt or under a sweatshirt but cool enough to not make me sweat. When the temps got above 45 degrees I did quickly get hot but that was an environment issue and not a problem with the thermals. The thumb loops were great when layering under another long sleeve shirt. One of the most irritating things to me when wearing a base layers is the arms right up when another shirt goes on and this setup prevented that from happening. The shirt was a little shorter than expected and came untucked when lifting above my head a lot but that is a very small issue. I will buying another set for hunting this fall.
A mix of classic styling and modern materials. The fabric feels smooth and comfortable against your skin. It breathes well. The fit is a bit shorter/tighter than typical Carharrt sizing, you may need to upgrade to a tall size.
After using cheap, no name base layers for the longest time i was given the opportunity to "field test" these base layers and i gotta say after buying cheap base layers the proof is in the pudding these base layers are great! When wearing this shirt and the Carhartt Hi-Vis jacket i found myself actually wearing one less layer then i would with normal no name base layers
This is a nice thermal to wear in earlier winter. It keeps you warm without overheating. The thumbs loops keep the sleeves in place. It is comfortable to wear and still looks new after several washes.
This a great thermal shirt. It is very light, yet very warm. Most importantly, it does not restrict your range of motion in any way. Also, the elastic thumb loops are amazing, though I fear they will tear off after some time, unlike the traditional thumb holes in the sleeve. Worth the money.
Unlike every other Carhartt shirt I own it was not a “Carhartt medium” as we call them at work. It would be equivalent to a competitors medium. Fabric was great and even after half a dozen washes I did not notice any shrinkage. It fits the bill as far as wicking away sweat and doesn’t snag easily. A need thing about this shirt was that it can be worn without an over shirt and still looks good. That can not be said for every other thermal.
I received this shirt as part of the Carhartt Crew to field test.
It has stayed looking like new in the two months that I've been testing. Arm length is good , like the thumb loops when putting on another shirt over. The only complaint is that the body of shirt shrank a wee bit so back of the shirt will creep up thru the day with bending and stooping.
Fits well and is comfortable. Its a really good addition to your layering. Kept me warm down to the lower 30s. Didn't over heat me when it warmed up. all around good comfort. Liked the extra loops inside to slip my thumbs through to hold shirt down while adding other layers.
I received this thermal shirt as part of my participation in a Carhartt Crew Field Test. Normally I wear a long sleeve T-shirt as my base layer but wanted to try a thermal. I wore the shirt approximately 25 times and washed it maybe 10 times. Size wise I’m somewhere between large and XL and being a base layer I chose large. After all those washes the shirt had only minimal shrinking, which I thought was good for a thermal. The shirt fits very well, even with my long arms. I got the mid-weight shirt which worked very well for warmth. It kept me warmer than my normal long sleeve T base layer but breathes better so it works well when doing manual labor.
I have a Carhartt thermal I got a few years back. I liked it so much thought I’d get a few more in other colors. Unfortunately they ran smaller than my other so I had to return them. That’s the point of my review. I had to pay the return postage. So because of that I won’t be ordering anything else direct from Carhartt’s site.
I work in the medical filed, in a office and they keep it very cold in the office. These keep me comfortable not to cold and to hot. love them ... will order more soon...
I really like the shirt. Only thing I didn’t like was how short it is. I ordered the small and it fits great, it’s just really short. I’m 5’6” 140 lbs. Usually their stuff is pretty long, so that was disappointing. But the material feels great, keeps me really warm in windy conditions and the finger hooks are brilliant.
Do not like this item. I'm returning it. Poor quality. Super thin. Don't waste your money. I tried not to give any stars, but to complete this survey you have to give at the very least one star. Very disappointed for a Carhartt item.
Thinner than I thought
Bring back the cotton thermals
Not warm
Did not like the material to thin
You’re cotton underwear is much warmer To bad you discontinued your cotton cold weather tops
Looking at other brands
Carhartt no longer my number one choice
i like the way it fits and feels
My husband absolutely loves his he works out in the cold weather and he said he would never wear anything but these thermals again!
It just doesn't stay tucked in...the tail is to short...otherwise OK....thought it would be heaver insulation wise
Love the tops , may need to give the bottom a try ,bought one for my brother to try and now he wants more
