The Irish Setter Ramsey 6" Soft Toe Boot features:
I dont know why this boot got a 3.1 review. That a load of c%^
I’ve had the same Ramsey boots for about 3 years now I’ve worn them in different fields of work from welding to motorcycle technician still slightly uncomfortable after long periods of standing but not enough to complain about just a general observation only time ive had soaked feet was when water entered the boot from the top but when I ride in the rain with actual rain gear I’m dryer than your mom overall they are a great boot I have 0 complaints
I wear these boots almost every day. I buy two pair and switch them every day so they dry out on a boot dryer. These boots are by far the most comfortable boots I have ever worked in. I am a contractor and the boots see all sorts of wear and weather. I oil them at least twice a year and try to keep them clean. I also use Kg's Boot Guard with Kevlar on the toes to prevent toe wear. I get at least two years out of them before I need to resole them. I change the insole every three to four months with a quality cushion. If your feet are comfortable, you can work for hours. Your feet affect your legs which affect your hips which affect your back which affect your mental attitude. My Father use to say "you can cry once or you can cry twice when you buy something else before you buy a pair of Irish Setters"
I've bought 3 pairs in 3 years. Can only get a year out of them. I do road construction, concrete, asphalt, and get 10,000 to 20,000 steps a day. Even with oiling the leather just didn't last and cracked and blew out. They are very comfortable and water proof as long as the leather is intact. May last longer for someone who doesn't work them as hard.
I work in a creamery and am on concrete type surfaces all day I've had them 6 months and the soles have been shot for a month. They did outlast my last pair of wolverines by about 4 months but having to spend 200 every 6 months on boots is ridiculous. The leather is wearing out my feet are getting wet. For the money I sure wish I could have at least gotten at least a year out of them.
My first set leaked water now my second the same and sole is falling apart they dont wear well
Excellent boot for the money. Well made and very durable. Ive just bought my second set of these boots. The first set lasted about 3 1/2 years with me having them re-soled once. I plan on doing the same with these ones also. Its around 80 dollars to get them re-soled at your local red wing dealer.
I bought these for my husband last year for Christmas. He says they are absolutely the most comfortable, long wearing durables shoes he's ever had. He is still wearing them after a year. He has worn them five and six days a week for that year. He works outside in all types of weather. We have bought shoes from everywhere, from Wal-Mart, Carolina brand, Rocky, to Timberland, Wolverine and others, and NONE has the comfort or quality like RED WING IRISH SETTER. And the reason as a woman I know what I'm talking about is because as a retail manager, I've sold shoes for over 15 years. So if you want to waste your money on a lower quality, cheaper shoe that will only last two or three months, buy elsewhere. I just hope for my husband's sake you never stop manufacturing this style.
