Great product, unfortunately the sizes are too big, a smaller size would be too snugged. I receive great complements on the style of the jacket, the amount of pockets are substantial, and its a great everyday kinda jacket

Comfortable stylish coat, fits better than original duck coat, however it is not as warm. I would say this is more of a mild weather coat. I like the fit, and color. After most of 1 winter season, it seems to be holding up ok. The water resistance is meh.

THE BEST JACKET I OWN! I bought this jacket 2 years ago and love it so much I needed to buy an extra one so I have 2 colors it switch out of when the I want to change it up. The Compliments I get when I wear it is nice. The two colors I got is brown
Having said that, I wanted to chime in hopes that this coat still exists when mine wears out...although deciding I want another color is more likely. Runs large, making it good for over a hoodie. Had mine for 4 years, and it has held up very well. Just know that the hand pockets have hearty metal zippers that chew your hands up a little bit. Wouldn't change this because it's nice to lock that stuff in there and they have to be metal to last as long as the coat.
This jacket fits as it should and looks great. I was a little worried it wouldn't be very warm, but it is and exceeds my expectations.

Coat is excellent in nearly every way. One problem is design of sleeve, where the end of the sleeve is not cut straight across, but is longer on one side for unknown reasons. It's somewhat bizarre, and functionally gets in the way. Had to have a local seamstress cut them off.

I bought this jacket a few years ago and wear it almost every day throughout the winter. Durable, mid weight but still a pretty warm and mobile jacket in low temperatures.

It's a great jacket
I bought this jacket over 6 years ago and it continues to be my go to coat. Ive done everything in this jacket from camping to delivering drywall to driving tow truck, and it's still going strong. It's not as warm as other jackets I've had but I find that perfect because instead of having a light jacket and a heavy jacket, I can just layer a fleece or hoodie with this one when it's super cold or wear it by itself when it's not too cold. And I live in Nebraska so the weather is always changing.

6'4" 185 M fits nice in torso but sleeves too short. Large tall too big in torso. A Medium Tall would be awesome. Pretty please!
This is the third one of these I have bought. I got 2 years out of each of the others wearing them in tough conditions daily. They’re warm but not bulky and it’s easy to put a hoodie on under them if it’s super cold.
This was my first Carhartt jacket and can't believe I waited so long to get on the Carhartt train. I couple this jacket with a medium weight zip-up Carhartt sweatshirt and I think this is the warmest Winter combo I have ever owned.

Amazingly comfortable. It’s sized to let you have a hoodie or insulated layer under it. A bit big if you’re just wearing t shirt but that’s the point. It’s roomy so you’ll never lose range of movement while working on stuff. Pocket space is ample but it’s never enough for me!
From the shop to construction sites this jacket is strong and cozy in cold temps. Light and flexible but most importantly warm. Mine is still going string, highly recommend.

Way too big... Need a size down
I’m 6’ 4” and 215 lbs, and the Large Tall fits absolutely perfect. Super warm, water/wind resistant, and best of all, it’s extremely lightweight. It looks great out on the town and is perfect for hard work too. I can’t say enough good things about this jacket.

Picked this up for my boyfriend last winter. He was super skeptical of it at first because he was used to the bulkier "classic" Carhartt style jackets he's had in the past. He was convinced it would not be warm enough and would not be durable. We live in West Michigan and he works on outdoor job sites year round. This is now his favorite coat. I love it because it looks sharp both on and off the job, he loves it because it's been warm, waterproof, and tough while still giving him good range of motion without riding up. He managed to get tar on it at work but otherwise it has held up nicely. I'll be buying him a second one this winter so that he has one for work he can continue to be rough with and one for outside of work that doesn't have miscellaneous construction stains.

This jacket fits great! Keeps me warm and dry. It does run big. I typically wear a large but could have done a medium with this jacket. But the large gives me plenty of room to wear a hoody underneath if I need to.
Bought this coat about 2 months ago, extremely comfortable. Bought it for a business coat to have a patch put on it. It is very warm but still light enough for a cool day.
Greatest work jacket i ever bought. i bought the black one about 4 years ago and it is still going strong. Very warm with a heavyweight hoodie in 10-20 degrees weather in nyc winter. So nice i recently ordered the grey one.
Looks and feels great. We have been having some severe cold and wind here in Iowa and it has kept me very comfortable. I only have one problem and that is with the zipper. You have to really seat the zipper down in the slot to be able to zip it up.
This is a super nice looking jacket, I gave it 4 stars for durability since it seems to be a fabric that could tear a little easier, but haven't tested it yet. I love the mid warmth that it provides and the look is exceptional. Great coat

Just got the jacket recently. The length of the sleeves are nice for 2xl tall, however the length of the jacket could be a bit longer. I am 6'8" and it is hard to find jackets that are long enough. So far I am happy with my purchase.

Great jacket. I purchased the XL - Tall, which gives me enough room to comfortably wear a hooded zip-up sweater underneath the jacket. when I am not wearing the hoodie beneath the jacket it fits well, and I am still warm.
Swear by Carhartt brand. Always had good luck with their clothes and boots.
Bought for my son, he is very happy with it. He is skinny 5'9" so the Small works for him. He particularly likes the fact that the outside cloth is not as stiff as the classic Carharrt. On the minus side: the filling could be a bit thicker (and warmer) and he does not like the zippers for the hand pockets, they chafe .
Great Jacket. I normally wear a large but I am able to fit comfortably into a Medium. I like the tapered cuffs and the inside zipper pocket. The velcro pocket is a little too "sticky" but hopefully will loosen up over time
It's perfect for what I wanted it. Have another one that's great for the cold weather and rain, but I needed one with no hood for riding motorcycle and this jacket is perfect for it. The raised collar and the enclosed ends of hands allow no cold air to get in.

Carhartt owner for years. Bought this jacket for everyday work in fridge climate and outdoor. Love the high neck to keep the wind off, wish this style's came in a 3x tall could be a bit longer on the torso. New it's still a little stiff, gotta break it in.
Great jacket! Keeps me warm on cold days and dry on wet ones. Looks great on and off the job sites. Plenty of pockets, and warm ones for the hands. Took a tumble and a steel post snagged it and had a very small tear but true to Carhartt quality tough as nails, its in great shape and tear is not expanding, still looks great. Ended up buying a few different colors, definitely not disappointed.
I bought this jacket for my husband and he loves it! We both really love the navy blue color, and it fits true to size. My husband said he also really likes all the pocket space - the jacket has 6 pockets! We live in Va. Bch Va. so the weight of the jacket is perfect for the temps. in our area.
Great quality! My husband loves it. He is 6’1” and weighs 210lbs. He normally wears a size XL, but sized down to a L for this jacket. It is still roomy on him but not enough to go to a M. He wears it daily on our property in Texas!

I am 6' 185lbs and this is one of the best fitting and overall jackets I have owned. A big issue I have with other Carhart jackets is that they are too short, I do not have that problem with this jacket.
The coat had great potential. It was just what he was looking for..except it didn't have a hood. For that reason I returned the item.

Really like this coat. It looks a little nicer than a typical Carhartt duck coat or hoodie, but still is durable. The other comments about size are correct - it runs large. I am 5’10” and 175 and a small fits. It is a little snug but not too tight. I think a medium wouldn’t work for me.

This jacket is one of the few models approved for our company work jackets. This is a great jacket with the exception of the tricky zipper. It is very hard to get started. You do not need a double zipper for this type of jacket and am sure that is the problem with the zipper. This problem has been reported by many reviewers and is hard to believe that Carhartt has not fixed this issue yet. If it isn't repaired by the time I need to replace my jacket, I will not be buying this model again. That would be too bad, because the jacket is perfect for my needs, but who wants to struggle with the zipper every time they put on a jacket.

Nicely made. Fit as expected. Unexpectedly warm in the cold. Comfy in cool weather. Rain resistance quite effective in light to moderate rain. Should hold up well.
Over the last year and a half this has been my go to jacket! I always opted for a down winter coat, but switching to the Jefferson Traditional has been a smart decision. Not only do you get the advantage of Carhartt durability, but the Quick Duck fabric helps me to cut down on the weight and bulk. The jacket has plenty of room to move around and work, while still being able to layer a sweatshirt for the -0 days. You can't go wrong!

This is a great jacket it is stylish enough to wear on a winter tour of Washington D.C like I did but yet tough enough to wear at the paper mill in the South East my favorite go to jacket when it gets cold enough. Perfect fit
I have an enormous amount of Carhartt gear, for work and just to wear. Out of all the jackets I’ve acquired over the years...this Jefferson is by far my favorite. I have the green one from ~2014ish and it’s held up very, very well the 4 or so years I’ve had it. It has seen a lot of wear. Im in the Capital Region area of NYS so it’s seen all types of weather from 50°F right down to -20°F. Perfect fit (6’, 270 lbs) in a The XL Tall with just enough room to layer in the freezing cold. Hands down it is a perfect jacket. Love it so much I’m ordering the Navy colored one as soon as I finish this review.

Great Jacket for cold weather and rain. repels water well and has sleeve cuffs that point out toward the middle of your hand to funnel water away. Handled quite well through a brutal Chicago winter. ordered these for a crew of 7 guys with no complaints.

Love this jacket. It fits well and is extremely durable. I recently had to go to Canada (in the fall) and it kept me warm and dry when the temp was in the low 20’s with precipitation. I highly recommend this jacket! Once again...Carhartt delivers another quality item.

Very durable jacket. I'm a trucker and many times I have worn this jacket in the rain. It held up every time and repelled the rain. Very warm. I have tried other brands and keep coming back to Carhartt. They perform where others fall.
Great coat. Fits perfect with space to layer underneath for the Arctic Montana days that lay ahead. Lots of room to move and not be bound up. Looked by the photos on line that it could be short in length but was pleased to find out it’s just not a fair representing photo, length is perfect and doesn’t ride up when your bent over working. It’s a sharp looking coat, almost feel bad for the abuse it’s receiving at work. Yes I would definitely recommend this coat!

Best jacket that I own!<br />Fits perfect. Sleeves never creep up when reaching for something. Wrists always stay covered. Longer cut on back keeps wind out of your backside. Absolutely best jacket I own. I have owned it for a year now and it is very durable and warm. Have used it deer hunting, duck hunting, working, cutting wood in winter, riding motorcycle...
In my climate I needed something that'd keep the chill out but not overly heavy. This fit the bill. Great look,great fit, and overall, very happy with the product.

Nice jacket with high quality
I bought this to replace my older Jefferson from 2015. I do prefer the upgrades and changes. The waste cinch cords are a great upgrade, this wasn’t on my old jacket. And they also did away with the headphone port. I didn’t use it anyway, so no biggie. The new navy color rocks! My old one was the dark coffee. As for sizing I decided to trust the true fit guide and go medium, all my other carhartt is medium. I went with small on the old one because o wanted it to be more fittted. I’m 5’7”, vary between 180-190lbs, athletic build with slightly broader shoulders. The small did fit, but ‘just’ fit. Layering was pretty snug. There is a bit extra play in sleeve length, but I’m not swimming in it and it’s not sloppy or overhanging. It honestly looks and feels more comfortable than the small. Based on all I entered on the true fit profile, it got very accurate. It said the medium would be true fit, but the scale was lightly skewed toward loose (the sleeves). Love this jacket model!
Bought two, one for me and one for my son. Great assistance from the Dedham, Mass store (since I had to order one). Granted I only wore it for a month or so due to buying it in the spring, but I am sure it will be well worth it as it's a Carhartt and already has great reviews.
I love this jacket. It works well in spring, fall and winter without being overly hot in cool weather. Great when combined with some layering in the winter. The only problem, and I mean literally only problem; the cuffs wore off the hair at my wrists. It didn't hurt, but after a week of wearing the jacket, boom, no wrist hair.<br /><br />Worth it, though. Great jacket, and I mean, who needs wrist hair.

I love the jacket. I have long arms and generally find it tough to find anything with sleeves long enough, so the long sleeves on this bad boy are great. It is cut loose in order to give full range of motion while working, but I think it was made a bit overly roomy. All things considered, though, I do like the coat a lit. It is very warm, light, and durable.
This is my favorite coat ever BEST COAT BY FAR THAT YOU COULD EVER PAY THIS LOW OF A PRICE!! They can call it a jacket if they want, but its my coat and it's warm. I used to wear a few jackets from another brand and throw them all together for the rough stuff and ive had them since 2000!! So this other brand is too cool now to be seen on 3X fat people or anybody with any type of large athletic build, so 2X is their max and another brand does have nice 3X and 4X but when i put this thing on man, it just felt amazing!! I never felt the total wrapped up comfort as i felt with this jacket, even in down vest and fleece. I just had it out for an extremely rough day of plowing on a garden tractor (what should have been an F250 lol) and it was bad. I got soaked at the very start of doing the neighbors and my own mail boxes on the main road by a trucker and 4 inches of road slush splash and this kept me warm and dry after basically 8am-6pm of work in constant wet snow. I work hard, constantly outside in the mountains of PA in the country and with an extra quilted layer, a fleece, or something underneath you are good to well below 20 degrees if you are moving at all. I have this unbelievable Swiss military sweater and wth just that, a breathable undershirt, and this jacket i can handle ten degrees with slight wind easily. A good hat, neck gaiter help and increase the severity of weather tolerance. I actually tested all of my layers by just going out in that crazy 2 week arctic blast in early January for hours, on multiple days and this coat just keeps me completely warm. I could watch the snow and deer forever, even staying still without generating body heat. i can unzip for a little cool down if working, but removing a mid layer is best if you still need weather protection. Actually, this was the ONLY thing I've ever tried that wasn't goretex and it is great at keeping out the misery, i fully support this manufacturer i only came in because i just wasn't going to get cold and my combination worked for worst case scenario.

just got it at family home and farm store in flat rock ,mi. tried on every coat in the joint and the Jefferson was the most comfortable by far I am 5 ft. 11 in. 235lbs. the xl fit great I bent over twisted rotated my arms in every way possible NO restriction at all arms perfected the length of the coat just right. the storm cuffs drop tail
I had to get a second jacket because my first one is a barn coat so it's usually filthy. The jackets are soft and cozy comfortable right away, no breaking in needed yet extremely durable and washable. The sleeve and body length is perfect for preventing gaps without restricting movement. The zipper is durable metal and easy to use even with gloves. I like how it zips up high with a stand up collar to keep out wind. The pockets are good too, including 2 big inner ones for keeping things like bottles of formula warm on the way to the barn., without spilling or falling out when bending over. The jacket is not warm enough for zero temps by itself but is easy to layer with. I love it.

This is one of the very best designed jackets that I have ever come across. I thought I had an idea of what it would be like by reading the description on line. But when it arrived I realized it was many times better than what I expected. I want to order a second one just in case you stop making it (please don't), I love it! Thank you!!
I like the attention to detail in the design of the jacket, especially because fashion is EVERYTHING... j/k. I like that it is water resistant/ proof. I am a average sized guy, but have seriously long arms. I am 5ft 11in- 185, but my arm span is 4 inches longer than I am tall. The arms in this jacket still fit without riding up. That makes for a happy camper in my book. I like to layer-up when its cold, there is room for a hoodie under the coat too.
The material is very flexible and it is very warm for how thin it is. I am a tall guy and the x large tall is perfect for me. Those 2 flaps in the back that give u the extra flexibility for turning/ moving are genius.
The jacket is surprisingly light weight but still feels quite durable in construction. I am happy with the fit and functionality and my wife thinks it looks better than my 11 year old Carhartt jacket that is faded, fraying, and doesn't zip. This jacket is a consistent and deep black, appears to be constructed well, and has thoughtful design. Definitely happy I bought it!

This jacket is awesome. Cuts the wind, keeps me warm and looks great! I love the thought Carhartt put into the shoulder area so you can stretch your arms all the out in front of you and it doesn't get tight across your back. Worth every penny.
This jacket is extremely comfortable. I work in the aviation industry and I work the overnight shift. My job requires me to be outside at times. The Jefferson quick duck keeps me warm, dry and most of all allows me keep my mobility without feeling restricted.
My son really likes the weight of the fabric and the length of this coat. It is perfect for the 30 temps and below we've been having.
Stiff at first but once broken in it's a great coat
It is as advertised. Pretty warm and wind resistant. More than just a shell. It has nice insulation thatâ??s not bulky at all. Looks fancier than a carhartt chore coat, yet still has heavy duty carhartt build. I get away with wearing it to dinner in town or splitting wood on a drizzly day. It repels moisture well. It is a great medium-heavy coat. I do wish it had snaps to add a hood. Oh well. Still a great coat.

I've been wearing Carhartt for over 5 years now. I've only had luck with the lightweight twill jackets that fit extremely well but provide no warmth. Every single Carhartt coat/jacket I try on has weird sizing; the mid sections are way oversized. Large fits too tight and XL is ridiculously oversized. Will be returning what would be an otherwise great jacket. Guess I'll have to look elsewhere for a decent fitting jacket

Ordered a size smaller after reading reviews and glad I did, it fits perfect a size smaller than my regular jackets. The only thing I don’t like on this jacket is the zipper. It’s extremely hard to get started, once you do it’s fine. Carhartt needs to fix this and the jacket will be perfect.

Well made. The sleeves and shoulders fit well. Fabric and color are good. Body is much too big for the stated size. Carhartt needs to take 4" out of the torso, or offer a slim fit version. It's so baggy in the middle I'm considering a return.

Nice jacket. I am always a tall/large. I do prefer the quick duck material over the traditional. The jacket fits like a tall/large everywhere except the mid-section. Way too big. Tried on the medium. Too small of course. I guess I’ll have to put on a few pounds to fill it out

By far hands down my favorite jacket I’ve owned. I live in Western New York. Winter sucks. This jacket is thin enough that when I’m outside shoveling or snow blowing I still have tons on movement. It’s also super warm. I’ve owned mine for about 5 years. When the time comes I’ll buy another.
I bought this jacket for my brother, he loved it so much that he convinced our other brother, brother-in-law, and dad to get the same jacket in other colors (so they aren't dressed as twins). This jacket is comfortable, stylish, and the best gift ever!
Excellent jacket, reliable Carhartt quality, durable- has withstood several washings...extremely warm w/o being too bulky, in severe winter weather, I just add an extra layer [hooded sweatshirt] and I'm good to go.
The jacket is nearly perfect. It fits well and the sleeves are long enough for my long arms. The only complaint I have is that the zippers on the pocket are harsh, and scratch your hands/wrists whenever you put your hands in the pockets. Itâ??s significant enough that it makes me not want to use the pockets. If they fixed the zipper issue, it would be a perfect work jacket.
Nice look and feel. Very Warm. A little stiff but will probably break in with a little time.
I love this jacket. Im a field officer and this jacket works well in this season. Great buy and even a good investment. you guys did it again. Only down side is it runs a little large, I wear XL but of feels like a XXL.
Very pleased with this jacket in all respects. Typical Carhartt quality. With a good wool or fleece layer underneath, it's now my primary winter hiking coat. Only thing to watch: I'm 5'10" and average build (165-170lbs). Other Carhartt jackets and other outdoor wear I'm perfectly a medium, which is also what the Carhartt size calculator suggested. But when it arrived, it was HUGE...fit me like what I would call a L or even XL. Returned that M and picked up a S instead, and it fits just right.
This Jacket now comes in Realtree Camo although I’m not sure why it’s not listed here. Either way I was looking for an inexpensive hunting coat for this season and came across this coat. I tried it on and loved it! It’s so comfortable and quiet for hunting. Perfect for layering and warm by itself as well. I’d like to get one to wear when not hunting as well.
Better than expected absolutely amazing
I'm a longstanding fan of iconic Carhartt wear, and with the sizing accuracy it's easy to keep adding to the wardrobe (to be clear, I haven't actually worn out anything yet. The durability of their products can't make sense from a business perspective--I've had the same shirts worn in all kinds of activity, weather and environments for years, and the only difference I can detect is a little colour fade). One small annoyance though.The item you get won't closely match the online photos. Carhartt jackets in particular are always bulkier and boxier than they appear on models (where they are surely pinned to give a more graceful and appealing look).
I love everything about this jacket. It looks good, it's tough, and warm. With the exception of one thing, I cannot seem to get rid of a chemical smell that is on it... It makes you not want to wear it often. <br /><br />It did run slightly large, but it is probably a good thing for layering.
Over the years , I have ordered at least twenty different carhartt jackets , and most of them were big disappoint ments . I recently ordered the Jefferson jacket , and I cannot tell you how satisfied I am . Carhartt you've finally got it right. This is my work jacket, my motorcycle jacket, and also my every day sport jacket. I hear a lot of people complaining about the zipper, but there is a method to the madness. Once I hear a certain click , It zips right up. Please make more jackets like this , in different duck materials Thanks.
It's a dream jacket, but the one down side is that the zipper gets stuck it's hard to zip the jacket so,e times.
So Far so good, would have gave it a 5 star, but zipper can be a little tricky, prob due to the double zip factor.<br /><br />Canyon Brown, is a nice colour for this jacket. It's like a Taupe.<br /><br />Looks great feels great, perfect with a vest, very comfy driving and working outdoors. This is a 5 star coat. The real color of the brown was much lighter in person than on the website. I already had a black one so I should have got the moss color instead of the light brown coat.
PLEASE READ MY WHOLE REVIEW IF YOU HAVE AN ATHLETIC BUILD BUT HAVE PUT ON EXTRA POUNDS IN AS YOU'VE AGED. I loved the look of the jacket when I first opened it (maybe a shade darker on the orange would be nice as it is not in the "hi-vis" section of the site) and looked it over for a minute to look for any defects or any abnormalities, but it was in great condition. Upon putting the jacket on though, i realized that, while it was comfortable to stand still in, it was much too big to move in a functional way while wearing. I purchased and am returning a size XL and I am 5' 9 250lbs, wear a 40x30 pant, typically wear 2XL shirts, dress shirt size 18 or 18 1/2 collar with 34-35 sleeve and built like a block with big shoulders and chest (I have a "used to be athletic, but isn't as athletic anymore" belly, but not one of those sticks out and is hard as a rock "beer belly") and I thought the jacket was WAY too big in the stomach area. I guess the double zipper and larger stomach area implies that It is designed for guys with big guts so they can pull the bottom zipper up when sitting, but the added fabric in the abdominal region does nothing to flatter the wearer who does not have a protruding belly. I even wonder if the model on the website has a clip in the back of the jacket holding it tighter as it looks to have a more athletic or straight cut in the picture as opposed to it appearing to "balloon" out at the sides of the abdominal region. I would also recommend adding a true collar to the jacket as the current "collar" doesn't stay down when folded and the material irritates the face when it is in it's natural position. I don't understand how the new "collar" style has gained popularity among jackets and sweaters that aren't specifically designed for rain. <br /><br />I went to a retailer that carried this model and tried on a size Large in this model jacket and the body fit better, but the arm pits of the jacket really bit into my own armpits to where if i lost 15lbs it would be okay, but in the mean time it would be extremely uncomfortable and I could see it rubbing me raw over the course of a day. IF there is a jacket that fits the description of having a true collar, ONE zipper, more of a straight cut as opposed to what I can only call a "gut cut" then someone please inform me. I also prefer my jackets to be in an orange color so it needs to fit that as well. <br /><br />I think for the abdominal area they should find a happy medium between the cut on the size Large and the XL , but use the shoulder/ armpit cut from the XL and make that their size XL. Also the double zipper needs to go....real pain, but then again if this jacket caters to guys with larger guts then it makes sense, but if that's the case then make sure the model wearing it has a bit of a gut or show the jacket on different body types. I know that won't happen because of cost, but still....good luck and I will continue my search for a proper jacket.

Love this jacket, my son and I both received these for Christmas presents and they are awesome. I was able to put it to some use the last few days in the cold rain and it kept me warm and dry just like it said it would, definitely recommend this jacket. Comfortable, stylish and does what it's supposed to, can't ask for much more than that!

Bought 2XL Tall (he always wears tall sizes) for my husband and was a bit concerned that it would be short since the pics of this show it hitting right at he hip, but it fits him perfectly. He's rough on his things and it's holding up well. The reinforced shoulders make the fit really comfortable and don't restrict movement. Best of all (for me anyway) is that he looks great in it. Really happy with this purchase.

Bought this jacket for my son-in-law as he works outdoors part of the time for his job. Wore it when it rained, then it snowed. The jacket kept him warm and dry. He loves this jacket!!! It is also a very nice looking jacket.

Had the first generation of this coat; lasted me 5yrs. Immediately bought my second when time came. It's true to every carhartt standard. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
This is not an "Arctic" weight coat, but definitely a good winter coat down to 30 degrees if you are actively moving around. This is the first "small" I've worn in any size since middle school so they do run large. I'm 5'8' and 150 lbs and the small fits me just right with no room for layers. The sleeves are plenty long and still has good shoulder room when reaching. I could have worn the medium if I wanted room for multiple layers.

My only issue is that I could not find a size for a short, round person with short arms. In order to get a size to fit my torso, I now have a jacket with "too" long arms. Other than that, this is a fine jacket for my weather in Texas.

It's the end of October so haven't had any really cold temperatures in Michigan but this jacket has been great. I recently had to work outside in the cold rain no issues with warmth or staying dry. It appears to be durable but I've only had this for a few weeks. My profession is remodeling and I've impressed so far. I usually will order a large more all coats but carhartt runs large. So I ordered a medium and it fits great
This jacket is AWESOME, i bought mine in charcoal color, this thing looks and feels amazing, 100% will keep you dry in rain, and keep you warm too. This jacket looks so dang good, i originally bought it for work and after checking myself out in the mirror for 5 mins, i went back to the store to buy another one just to wear casually because it's that nice looking. it does run kinda large for each size though, so i am glad i got it at the boot barn instead of ordering it online, because i would have got the wrong size online. i normally wear a size large shirt, but in carhartt jackets i wear a Medium. but 100% would recommend this jacket to anyone for any event.

I started owning Carhartt products over 35 yrs. ago, and I have never been disappointed. Coats, Hooded jackets, overalls, and Caps, I still have that first Coat. This jacket looks and feels like its made with the same quality and pride.
Just bought this jacket at Cabella's in Hamburg, PA. There's literally nothing bad to say about this. The fit is perfect, it's lightweight, repels rain or snow, material is soft and my favorite feature is the bi-swing back, which allows you greater movement with your arms and shoulders. Not yet cold enough for it but I can tell it will be my "go-to" jacket when the temp drops. Not only do I give this 5-stars but also two thumbs up.
I liked the jacket so much I went ahead and bought a second one to keep as a spare. I am a farmer in NC and it is very comfortable and warm while working out on the farm.
Recently made this purchase because the jacket is warm and nice. I like that this jacket isn't so bulky and heavy. Wore it on a rainy and windy day and it kept me warm and dry.
I'm 6'3" and when I purchased the jacket, I weighed in at 290lbs. I purchased the XL tall and it fit perfect then and still fits perfect even though I've lost 40lbs! This jacket is extremely comfortable. Does not restrict movement in any way. The drop tail is perfect for covering up plumbers syndrome also. In my opinion, the best design on this jacket are the sleeves, which also cover the majority of the back of your hand. Awesome jacket!

I bought this jacket to replace another similar brand. I liked the style and the durable feel. However, the insulation used is not warm enough for winter weather. I tested it on Long Island at a temperature of -20F with windchill. Big mistake. I was disappointed. A down liner helped to keep me warmer. This jacket is good at 40F or three season only.<br />I recommend for quality of construction. However, even though insulated, I do not recommend this as a winter jacket.
I bought mine about a year ago and its held up great during all the abuse I've put it through. The material is just as strong as the traditional Carhartt stuff but much lighter and easier to move in. Its highly water resistant too, which is a huge plus. Like all Carhartt products it runs a little big. I'm 6'0'' and 185 pounds and the large is perfect for length in the sleeves and torso but it has a lot more play around the chest and belly than is really necessary for base layers or sweatshirts. Overall, a great investment and I'm very happy with it.
I am tall and thought I was limited to shopping online at random well-known stores for their ever-changing, cheaply fabricated, tall styles. Someone introduced me to the brand, I went to the store and learned of their tall sizes, tried it on, and was sold.. I am 6'6" and around 230 lbs. the large tall fits perfectly.
I have had my quick duck for 5 years now it has held up on my tuffest days at work. It is heavy enough for those cold east Texas winter mornings , but light enough to wear all day . Thanks carhartt for making such a great product .
I am 6'4" 275lbs and this jacket in a XXL was long enough in the body, but also had alot of room in the body. Also the inner cuffs were tight on the wrist and thr sleeve flares way out which is practical if your wearing this in the rain, but odd looking otherwise..which make it uncomfortable and caused me to return it.
I bought it at TSC on sale for the holidays. Great investment, perfect for work, the range, or just wearing over a flannel. I expect it will hold up for a long time.

I love this jacket. It passed the rain test yesterday. I got dumped on for 30 minutes while riding my motorcycle home last night. Everything under this jacket was still dry when I got home. My phone and cigarettes were completely dry in the pockets. My jeans were soaked through but from the waist up... dry and warm. Excellent job Carhartt!! This jacket is a winner!!

I got the charcoal/grey LT. Awesome Carhartt quality. Thinner then the other Carhartt jackets and still warmer then any other jacket that has the same thickness. I'm not sure how the regular sizes run but the talls run a little big so the LT was perfect for me and I wear Xl. The back is a little longer which is nice! The grey looks good if your going to work or going out. Get this jacket!

Got it on sale in mid-summer and it is by far one of the greatest jackets I've ever owned. It looks great, even for more formal occaisions. Insulated, but not too much which is perfect for working outside in fall/early winter. Disappointed that it's made overseas, but it is still true to the Carhartt quality I have come to love. It hasn't been tested yet, but this jacket may very well be wolf-proof just like in the commercial.

Great jacket. Light enough to not fill bulky but thick enough to keep you warm. The drop tail and cuffs on the sleeves are a nice touch. Have had this Jacket going on 2 years now and has kept me nice and warm all the way down to -25F weather with just a long sleeve cotton shirt underneath. It has repelled the snow and rain with out a hic up.<br /><br />Still looks good and is holding up well. I would recommend this jacket to anyone and all my friends. Get complements all the time and my wife loves the way it looks on me.
Just bought this jacket and haven't even had it a day but decided to comment here. Mainly to update/refute an earlier review that almost caused me to pass on this jacket. The first review stated that this jacket lacked a drawstring at the waist, that's not exactly correct. There is a drawstring at the bottom but the tensioners are located in the back along the bottom edge. Easy to miss and a little tricky to adjust, but they're there. My only complaint is that the zipper on the pockets can be a little rough on the hands when sticking them in your pockets. Otherwise, I really like the style of this jacket and think it will provide many years of service both on the job and around town. Go check one out, I think it's one of Carhartts best new products.
When I first found this jacket in a local store, I was very excited about it. It looks really good and can even be worn out on the town. It is comfortable and light with some great features. I really wanted to love this jacket and did.....until it got colder. The shortcoming I discovered (and had not noticed until the temps dropped) is that this jacket does not have a drawstring in the waist. The cold air is free to invade your torso space unimpeded. This is the one big design flaw I have found in this jacket.<br /><br />The front pockets are very nice. They are roomy and zippered which keeps any valuables inside. However, when you are walking down the street and put your hands inside of them the zippers tend to be a bit uncomfortable on your wrists and even cold if the temps or down.<br /><br />I would also prefer if they had upped the insulation from 80g to 100g of Thinsulate.
i live in Northern Michigan. Plumber by trade. I have been wearing carhartt jackets, and other carhartt clothing, for over 30 years. I've had numerous carhartt jackets and this is the best by far! I think the drop tail and extension on cuffs was awesome idea. I also like the insulation, very light jacket but also very warm and shell is strong! I just wish it didn't lose water repellency after about 3 washes. Keep up the good work Carhartt !

Comfortable stylish coat, fits better than original duck coat, however it is not as warm. I would say this is more of a mild weather coat. I like the fit, and color. After most of 1 winter season, it seems to be holding up ok. The water resistance is meh.

Having said that, I wanted to chime in hopes that this coat still exists when mine wears out...although deciding I want another color is more likely. Runs large, making it good for over a hoodie. Had mine for 4 years, and it has held up very well. Just know that the hand pockets have hearty metal zippers that chew your hands up a little bit. Wouldn't change this because it's nice to lock that stuff in there and they have to be metal to last as long as the coat.
