B147 - Carhartt Men's Loose Fit Canvas Utility Short

Mine wear out pretty quickly. I Wish black was still an option. Can't buy them anymore cause my job requires black. And wish they had a pencil pocket for left handed people.

Need them at natural waist on hips not above my belly button

Been purchasing Carhartt products exclusively for the last 3 decades. Durable quality. Recently purchased shorts are nothing less than Carhartts normal standard for quality.

The material is too stiff for work wear. I like the old B144 shorts in putty but they are no longer available. Pitty, my family alone would purchase 20 pair of these per year. Carhartt has lost sight of what their customers want. I will be looking for another supplier for work shorts.

I bought these for my husband, and he said that he is pleased with the shorts and that they were as expected.

Look, fit, utility, are all what expect and desire. Great for everyday work/use.

Even though it says loose fit, these shorts are sized really small. I wear a 33 waist and I can barely get them buttoned.

They fit very tight. I reviwed the size chart and followed the guidelines. I’m disappointed.

I ordered two pairs of shorts in my husband’s size, the same size he has been for 60 years, and they were too small. Other than that the quality is great. I need to exchange them for a larger size and that means sending them back with a refund and then ordering them again because you don’t do exchanges. It’s a bit of a pain in the process but I am confident that another size will work out.

The shorts fit nice but for me were WAY to long. I took them to an alteration shop and had 3” taken off the length. Now they are perfect!

For home handy-man jobs these are great. I can also take them in public and not look like Joe Tool. Inseam length is perfect, thank you for not making short-shorts! The hammer loop needs to go and size up if you're not sure.

the shorts are light enough for the summer heat and durable enough so far for my job as a mason contractor. Enough room to move for the constant climbing and bending on the job.

These shorts are sooooo very long, below the knees. Makes it difficult to move around when working in construction. Bring back the old ones that go above the knees. I gave these 4 pair away brand new!

Stitching around front pocket is loosening. Very comfortable.

The shorts were fine, but I do miss the original fit sizing. Everything now it’s too baggy for me.

These are great comfortable shorts. I mis the old duck cloth version. These are a good 2nd. choice.

3 stars out of frustration with inseam lengths. Would have been 5 stars and a larger purchase if you hadn't discontinued the B144. <br />I just purchased one pair of shorts. I would have purchased more if you had shorter inseam lengths.<br />In the past you did. In particular you had the B144, a great work short with an 8 inch inseam, necessary pockets, and available in light colors to work in the hot sun. I would order several every summer and wear the heck out of them. I didn't purchase any last summer because of my frustration with the inseam lengths. I have also noticed that many customers also loved the B144 for it's shorter inseam and have commented so. Bring back the B144. There is no substitute for a great work short.

The size was utterly tooooo BIG! Not at all true to size. They were a father's day gift. So disappointed. I didn't want to have my dad go through the hassle of returning them, he is 87, and he lives in a different town than me. I don't even think size 34 would have fit him. Very disappointed.

Great pair of shorts. Just as described on the website. Washed in medium temp water and dried on medium temp; didn’t notice any shrinkage. I also like the fact that these are 100% cotton.

These shorts are strong and fit nicely although they run a little big.

Quality of carhartt has been going down for a few years. They have discontinued heavier weight carpenter type pants that were perfect for work. The sizes now run small and the fit has been changed so they are not as comfortable. I emailed this same assessment to the company at least twice. I have truly loved carhartt but am actively looking for a company to replace them if nothing changes.

I like design and material. The inseam is longer than stated. I have Carhartt shorts with 9inch inseam and thought I would be okay with 10 inch but shorts are more like 11 inch inseam.

Great fitting shorts (size 34 waist). As a carpenter the pockets and loop are perfect for day to day tasks. Bought two pairs to try the fit. Going to buy three more to round out the work week for summer heat. Highly recommend.

I found the 34” waist to be too small and the 36” waist to be too big. I enjoy you 35” waist pants. I wish your shorts were available in 35” waist

I love my Carhartt shorts ,very comfortable and I use them for working around the house to hold all my tools while I work as I do with my Carhartt pants that I wear during work on the job

I wear pants with a 32 inch waste and these shorts, allegedly 32s, were way small. Furthermore, I have another pair of carhartts, same size, and they fit as expected. I’d suggest anyone that wants to buy a pair of these shorts either find a local retailer that sells them (good luck) or add 4-6 inches to what you normally wear

Waist fit nice. Pants are a little baggy which keeps the under carriage cool. Light weight but durable. Great value.

First of all, the only reason I ordered these is because Carhartt in its infinite wisdom, discontinued the venerable B25 Work Short. I would say these Loose Fit Canvas Utility Work Shorts are a poor substitute, but they are NO SUBSTITUTE! These are dainty schoolboy shorts better suited to school uniform applications than a workingman's short! They are ridiculously long, and ridiculously undersized sized to match. I ordered three pair of 36s and got three pair of 34s, MARKED AS 36s—that's right--the 36s received measured 34, not 36. Holding them up to an older pair of B25’s the sizing problem is only too obvious. Styles may change, but inches are inches and don’t change. Yes, they going back, and no, I won’t be replacing them.

Your shorts are crap!!! I wear a size 42 and your size 42 shorts don’t even come close to fitting me!!! I thought it was a mistake but I went to a local store to buy another pair of Carhartt shorts size 42 but ended up with same problem!!! Now I have to go through the whole process of returning them!!!!

These shorts are great. Extremely comfortable. Perfect for work or hanging around the house. They fit a little big, but not too much. I’m 5’9 170 and got a medium. They fit perfect, just a little long in length. Also the material is soft but durable.

Fits well, solid construction, well-placed pockets hold tools without being in the way. Only down side- a bit long for me.

I had to size up. Normally a 34, but had to return for a 36. Wish there was a 35” waist but I’m happy w the 36” and a belt. My iPhone 13 fits perfectly in the phone pocket. Stoked about all the pockets. Length for me is perfect as I’m 5’11.

Great quality, rugged durability that you'd expect from Carhartt.<br />I'm short (5'7") and these are a bit long for my comfort (that's the only reason they get a 4 instead of 5 starts). They are what they are, not a poor fit. The cut is true to size.<br />I wish they came in a 9" inseam version. If they did, I'd have 5 pair.

I’m have never been disappointed by anything I‘ve purchased from Carhartt. These shorts are sturdy but very comfortable and as always very well made, with pockets and attachments in the right places. Nice enough to wear for casual outdoor activities.

Durable but fits weird for a woman’s body. Can’t find woman’s plus size in stock ever so I purchased mens instead. They fit but are not forgiving in the places woman’s are. They are comfortable and holds up to the job

I have several pair of B147 shorts. Ordered 4-5 pair of new ones. Quality is great as usual, the only issue is the waist cut is different on each pair. Some are very tight and others are correct…

These shorts are a great fit and good quality lightweight material but sturdy enough for work. The side utility pocket is a perfect size and location to keep your cell phone which is one of the most important tools I have to carry these days.

Great pair of work shorts. Like the handy side pockets for phone and glasses, even has a hammer loop. It runs a size smaller so I have to order a 36 to fit a 34 waist. No big deal just returned and reordered. i only wear 100% and these fit the bill, replacing the no longer available Dickies version of the equivalent sorts.

Excellent shorts. I'm retired so don't need pockets for tools but I do need them for all the things I carry on my walks. I first purchased Carhartt shorts from a retailer in my community. They were tan in color and I wanted a pair in black. I could not find these in my community so ordered from Carhartt directly online. These were delivered promptly.

Inseam much too long. Might as well call them Capris.<br />I use the shorts daily for construction work, and their length makes them much more prone to hook/snag/catch on things (actually dangerous). I shortened them myself, but the length of the pocket limits how much they can be shortened. An option for inseam shortness would be nice. Wanna be workers probably are more interested in length.

Sized kinda small, I went up one size and fit great. Maybe I’m just fatter then I want to believe.

Its a great product. really durable. I buy them for outdoor work in the yard. The. leg was a little long for my taste but an easy fix.<br />If you want a comfortable, durable work pant, this is it. They last for years!

I do not like the 10" inseam on these shorts. I like the old style canvas utility work shorts I had.

I just learned that you are no longer making the 8.5" shorts. Unless Carhartt begins to make this size again I will no longer buy Carhartt shorts - very disappointing. I have really enjoyed the 8.5" shorts for work.

I have tried 34, 36, and 38, they all are too small in the crotch, i am an average size guy, it fits too tight, do they make relaxed fit?

A good pair of shorts but I don't like that there is not a fifth pocket. I always put my pocket knife in it I thought all Carhartt pants or shorts came with a fifth pocket.

Bought two pair of the b147 shorts after being told they were the same as the B144 but with a 10" inseam vs a 8.5. I could live with the difference between the inseams, but the rise is 3" longer for the B147 (13 vs 10) so they come past my knees about 2" Please return the B144 sizing as not all of us especially those that are older ( 59-60 ) wear shorts this long as they can be uncomfortable.<br />Thanks

Disappointed. I have 2 pair of those shorts in the same size but the blue ones run at least 1 size if not 2 sizes small.

I tried these shorts instead of the many pairs of the style B-144 shorts that I've worn over the years. The inseam length of 11" for these shorts over the B-144's 8.5" is way too long for short guys like me. They go past my knees and as a result are very uncomfortable when walking. I hope Carhartt brings back an option with the shorter inseam.

Ordered in my husband's normal size and they were SO small. Had to return.

They are fine but I prefer the relaxed fit shorts that were not available.<br />I will not order these again but wait for the relaxed fit to become available

Saw the comments about these shorts and ordered a pair on the large side, 34" when I usually wear 33". Of course they didn't come close to fitting, took out a tape and measured, with the waist button fastened, and got 32" I would've loved these shorts if they'd fit, so, after printing my return label for the mis-sized ones, I order the same shorts with a 36" waist. Hoping they're not too big.

Quality is Carhartt good. Was surprised that material was thinner then expected for a pair of work pants, and that these shorts run smaller than true size (other products purchased have fit correctly or even a little generous). I will be returning them.

Good quality shorts!!

Carhart = quality which is why we choose them. Very important to maintain that quality like the current high quality of the Rugged Flex jeans, for example. Don’t change! I purchased these same shorts about six months ago and I want say the fabric was nicer. I little thicker maybe, nicer quality and hung better. This latest version has a somewhat sloppier look.

Undersized compared to 34s I normally buy. 34s normally fit comfortably loose. These are snug and uncomfortable

I had a pair of Carhart shorts which I purchased over 20 years ago and just got rid of. The pants wouldn't wear out. The new shorts are not the same in design, but they are a great replacement for the originals. They are super comfortable and very durable.

please bring back the style #b144 cell phone pocket short 8 inch inseam these were classic shorts not sure about these new shorts i how carhartt is not going to start changing things for profit

Carhartt, Canvas Work Shorts are the best fitting shorts and really fit well in the hips and thighs. Also, there is no doubt about their quality/workmanship.<br /><br />I bought them to wear home from knee replacement surgery.<br /><br />They are so comfortable.

Shorts are lacking the change pocket of previous models I have purchased in the past. The two pair are also a much lighter gauge of fabric and thus do not expect to be as durable as expected.

I've always liked these shorts. They're great work shorts. But the size I've always ordered (and still have, just aged and faded) isn't true anymore. I can barely get them buttoned and before you say it, my weight has decreased.

These shorts fit well and help me to stay cool while working around the house. They are made well and should last a long time.

I do not like the long inseam. Used to be able to get them in 8 inch inseam. I have 5 older pairs of the 8 inch inseam. They are getting worn after 2-3 years of hard use. I will try to hem these up. Everything else is still good, just too long

These Carhartt work shorts are my go-to work shorts. I like the look of them, and the durability and functionality are just what I like, including the small pocket on the leg which I use for my cell phone. So, when I needed to get more work shorts, it was a no-brainer to get the same Carhartt shorts.

I ordered 2 pair, one pair fit fine the other pair was too small. i ordered size 38 and the pair that I couldn't button looked like size 36. I ended up giving them away. In the past I have worn B25 the new number is B147 these feel much thinner, I much prefer the heavier weight material. Very disappointing I will not be ordering any more of this item. All the other Carhartt items I have vests and jackets I love.

Too long for my taste. The length is a bit below my knees. I can't stand shorts that are past my knees! Material seems pretty durable. I only wore them once so far. I wish manufacturers would design more for function than fashion. When you are constantly bending and squatting the length of these shorts will eventually keep rubbing around your knees. Very annoying!

Both of my pairs are smaller in the waist than the long version of the pants

These are disappointing compared to the traditional B25 model. Cloth alot thinner, fit not as good.

I've bought these shorts for years and never had a complaint. But since you've discontinued the 8" shorts and lightened the material (They now feel thin as a handkerchief.) I must start looking elsewhere for work shorts. I did buy a couple of pair before I knew this however, and spent 25.00 on alterations. Not a bargain at that price.

Bought these and the Rigby so I'd have something to wear doing yard work and wouldn't mind getting them dirty. They both lasted about a year before the fabric started getting real thin, splitting and tearing. On both of them. Couple photos attached. One showing a split between two patches my wife thought would extend their life. Good for casual wear. I wouldn't wear these as work shorts.

I don’t understand why Carhartt discontinued the 8” short. These have been my go to work wear for several years, but now the 10” is all that’s available. Add another 12 bucks to the price to have them hemmed and they’re not such a good value. Why doesn’t someone make a simple, 8” short without all the pockets and hammer loops? Really disappointing, I went to Amazon and bought all the 8” I could find.

I really like these shorts. There are verry durable. I thought they would shrink but they have been true to size after 15 wash and drys so far.

I don't like them anymore, they are too long. They used to be 8" in length and now they are at least 10 I think. If I want my pants hanging on my knees when I walk I'll buy long pants. I would have bought 3-4 pair but I just don't like them anymore.

I thought these were the heavy duty work shorts but they’re not. Maybe I should have researched it further, but since it said canvas work short that’s what I thought it was.

Im a huge fan of these shorts. I own like 8 pair that i wear at home and work. I really like the side pocket for my cell phone and the pocket on the left thigh for my air pods case. Very sturdy and comfortable shorts.

Nice shorts. Very good quality. Fabric is rugged but not as heavy as the "duck" fabric. <br /><br />Phone pocket is the best. My iPhone w Otterbox protector fits perfectly. Also a pocket for my folding ruler.<br /><br />My personal preference is a slotted pocket in the back vs the jean/dungaree pocket. Carharrt used to offer but discontinued.

I ordered two pairs size 34". They sent two pairs labeled 34" but they were actually size 32" so I sent them back. I contacted customer service and they suggested that I try ordering them again in the same size but I really don't have any confidence that things will work out any better. Never had a problem with Carhartt before but I'm now a little skeptical.

inseam is too long, id rather have shorts with and 8" or shorter inseam

Hard working great fitting pants. I have several of the long pants and short pants version and wear them regularly.

I have worn many shorts to work in, but by far these are the best I have ever had. Will be buying more in the near future.

You need to have 8” inseams available.<br />10” is just too long and makes them uncomfortable. For people who actually work in these shorts they need to not break at the back of the knee - but higher.

I really like the shorts. But with each step they dig into my knees. So I took the shorts to a tailor and had them reduced about 2.5 inches and now they fit great. So my suggestion would be to offer a SHORTER short.

Typical Carhartt quality, which is why I bought these. But, they changed the leg length from my old Carhartt shorts-8 1/2”, to 10” (apparently I didn’t read the fine print in the web ad) which is silly long. I had to hem them back to a reasonable length. Not a problem.

Unhappy with the fit. I feel like they fit small in the waist. I compare this to another pair of Carhartt shorts I purchased previously which are regular fit and were the same waste size. The ones I recently purchased were called loose fit. Other aspects of the shorts are fine. Also a little longer than expected.

I wear these shorts all the time..should have ordered a couple more pair of them..They shrunk up a bit after the first wash but they actually fit a bit better after that..I like the side pocket for my phone..The only think they're missing is an inner pocket to separate your keys, but that's not a big deal. If you're looking for a solid pair of shorts, look no further.

My husband loves these shorts for their durability and 100% cotton material. Unfortunately, they stopped selling the 8.5" inseam. These shorts are way too long and he cannot wear them. Very frustrating; please bring back the 8.5" shorts or shorter would be great.

These shorts have the same item number as the shorts I bought from you about a year ago, but they are a full 3 inches longer. They were supposedly 10 inch shorts, but they go below my knees. I like the shorts otherwise, but I am going to have to go have them hemmed. I don't want to go through the hassle of boxing them up and shipping them back to your.

I ordered 32 waist like all my pants and other Carhartt shorts and couldn't begin to button them. Also to long for my 5'-7" frame.<br /><br />Had to return them.

I have not been able to find a thick pair of shorts for work since Carhartt stopped making the B25 carpenter shorts. This is no where close to the quality the B25 shorts offered.

typed in style # for my old shorts 8.5" canvas shorts. it sent me to 10" I didn't realize so I received wrong shorts. apparently you do not make any 8.5" inseam shorts in any style. This is mistake I am constantly finding you no longer make products I have been buying for years. I have switched to arborware and mountain kakhi. shame.

Actually they were the wrong shorts. My husband wanted 144B that are somewhat shorter. I guess you don't make them anymore. I was able to shorten the short i bought.

I had 2 pair to begin with, with the exact style #s in size 34” so I purchased these 3 the same seeing as the others I was able to try on. Evidently I need a 35” now, but these will work as long as I don’t put them in the dryer. <br /><br />GREAT deal for the money!!!!!

I have a butt. Pants are typically made for people that do not have one. For $35 , these pants should fit better.

Well.... if they were 2" shorter, as the previous model was, climbing a ladder wouldn't be impinged by the length of the fabric over the knee. It's too soon to talk about quality. Question: why were these changed?

I ordered a 36 just in case as my waist is about a 33-34 to make sure I had room without being able to try them on and they do not fit. Waist is way too small and upper legs do not fit. Not sure why as they are tagged for 36. Now I have a nice pair of shorts that do not fit.

What happened to the #B144s and #B25s?<br />The inseam on these new shorts is ridiculously long. <br />When I'm working in the summer heat, I want to be wearing something light and airy. These shorts come down past my knees, which really cuts down on the 'ol 'leg' ventilation. <br />What, are you guys afraid of somebody seeing a small part of your thigh? Seriously? Maybe these shorts are styled for shy teenagers who don't work hard enough to sweat. <br />I'll be buying shorts from elsewhere until the shorter length styles get cycled back through.

These shorts are a great value: really well made, sturdy fabric and stitching, great design, perfect fit. You can't go wrong with them. <br /><br />I'm also grateful Carhartt's websites make so easy to order and (if necessary) return directly, and their sizing assistance works amazingly well.

The 36” are too big but the 34” are too small. I like the fabric but which the I seem was 1” shorter.

I got these for my husband, a prairie landscaper, and they're just the best. The dark ones even hide dirt! They are quality through and through, as expected from Carhartt. Good length, materials, and pockets and loops that get used.

You have to be kidding. You used to make some good clothes, that piece of junk called work shorts I sent back very quickly. Why did you stop making B25 shorts? They were good quality, wore well, gave good value fo what you got. good shapeNow they are gone. I wanted another pair so I went to the internet and found a pair of B25's used but in good shape.

Other brands do not compare with the quality and fit of these shorts. True to size, very comfortable and durable. Tried many others at higher prices, but the Carhartt canvas work shorts can not be beat. Carhartt is my go to shop for work pants.

These are quality shorts . The thickness of the canvas is strong enough for workwear but you’ll be wearing them everywhere . The inseam is just right and waist is true to size ... for me . Now if can just keep the paint , morter and glue off them .

These are great all-around shorts. They are durable enough for heavy labor, and comfortable enough to wear for long periods. I personally think they look nice, too.

Bougth 2 pairs of of Tan shorts as work shorts for 2 Painters. Size 30 And size 32. They fit was true to size and the quality is great. In addition they shipped super fast

I have other shorts that fit just fine. These shorts were cut an inch shorter in the waist. as compared to my other pair. I am not sure that I will keep these as losing weight is not easy for me!

These shorts definitely run one size smaller. Can't really rate them yet because they don't fit. I wish, I would have ordered one size larger, but now out of stock? Dissappointing to say the least.

Canvas fabric is too light in weight, unable to get 8 inch inseam so these 10 inch inseam had to be shortened. Receipt of product from date of order phenomenal.

I don't like them as much as the old style of 8.5" inseam carpenter shorts. These catch on my knees when I kneel down and the critical tool pockets are gone.

To whom it may concern. I like the idea of the cell phone pockets on each side of the legs, but when you sit especially in a vehicle the cell phone will fall out due to an open top pocket. If there was some way to keep it from falling out?......hhhhmmmmm

The butt seam was too tight on a LOOSE FIT pair. The waist was fine and there was plenty of room in the legs,Butt I had to send them back.

It's called work short, but they look like cut-off chinos, and fit me weird. <br /><br />I love my other Carhartt shorts, and thought that was what I was ordering , but what came isn't what I wanted. I'm not blaming them, since I believe it was what I ordered. It's just not what I really wanted.

I haven't had them but about a week the workmanship is up to the standards I expect from Carhartt. I've recently lost weight so I wasnt sure I was getting the right size but ithe size chart was spot on

Very disappointed. Am a big fan of the B25 shorts. Not even close in terms of fit and design and materials.

I ordered the same size that my husband always wears and they dont fit! they dont come close to buttoning and it was all three pair that dont fit .. Very disappointed because now i will get stuck paying shipping to ship the things back. Dont know if i will be ordering from here again.

There good so far, the sizing seems to be a little more consistent then in the past.

I ordered the size shirts that I ware daily and generally a loose fit. When I tried to put on my Carhartt shorts, they wouldn’t even button. I had to return them and reorder. . They could have at least sent me the correct size in an exchange. I did return the shorts but I did not reorder the new ones. I will say the shorts came in a timely manner

I bought these work shorts for my Dad for his birthday. They must run smaller than comparable brands because they were too small so I had to order a larger size and send to him. He loves the shorts overall but I need to restate THEY RUN SMALL!!

Well I’m happy with the shorts, I am extremely dissatisfied with your sale the day after I purchased the 4 shorts. If I had purchased these shorts a couple days later, I would have saved $30. I spoke with customer service who said they would see what they could do however I have not received a credit against my card.

Bought 2 pair, one tan and one black. They are lightweight and breathe much better than expected. They are sturdy with good belt loops and did not shrink after washing. They are functional like denim but more comfortable in hot weather.

Very pleased with this product. I’ve had T’s and other shirts for years from Carhartt, so decided to try the work shorts with several pockets. Kept finding “ proudly inspected # 8” (for example )in the pockets and have to agree with other reviews. The workmanship seems excellent. Time will tell. So far, enjoying them.

I am a bigger guy that has a hard time finding shorts that fit right. I love these shortS they fit comfortably. I wore them kayaking this weekend held up great wet and dry.

My husband does like these shorts but upon washing I noticed the side look (not a belt loop) was sew on twisted. It does not affect the wearing of the shorts but it looks goofy. Not a big enough issue to warrant returning probably not even worth this lengthy post :)

The first pair of the shorts. Since then, purchased three more pairs. The shorts appear to be well constructed and offer a variety of useful pockets compared with other shorts I have owned. My very favorite feature is the fact that the shorts have seven belt loops, which ensure a much nicer fit. I also love the cell phone pocket

Ordered these for my husband for work. They are great quality and fit perfect! He is very happy with them.

I thought my shorts would be the thick material like cardboard. Like a new ranch coat or work pants. But, I'm happy with what I got. Thin but they seem tough. We'll see.

Shorts are well built, outstanding fit and finish. For me, this length is just about an inch too long. Reflection on my stubby legs, not on Carhartt. When I bend or squat, I have to hitch the legs up so they do not bind on my knee, just like long pants. Something to keep in mind for folks with inseams of 32" or less.

I own a pair of these that fit fine. They've become a little worn so I bought a new pair. They don't fit at all. Not just too tight in the waist. tight all the way through the thighs. They are the same size as my current shorts. I wear a 34 in the washed double front. They fit comfortably. A 36 in the flannel lined twill They fit loose. The 34 is way too tight. The shorts I have are 36. They fit comfortably loose. The new ones are incredibly uncomfortable. Maybe it's time to stop worrying about your nike shoes and get a standardized fit. I wear 34 or 35 from every other company i buy shorts and pants from. Why are your sizes so far off?

I don’t know what has happened but sizes are not the same as they once were. I’ve worn the same size for the past 15 years and suddenly the pants and shorts seem way too long. <br />The shorts would work on someone 6.5’-7ft tall... but not the rest of us. Everything seems extra long in the crotch, leg length is about right. Already in the mail headed back.

Shorts are either mid-sized or run very small. I wear 32 in another brand and usually 33-34 in some other brands but I can only just barely button these 34 size shorts. Also they’re too long and boxy.

These shorts are great. I bought the same size in a pair of pant that fit great. The shorts run a little smaller than the pants size and a slightly more snug in the waist. overall they are great shorts.

I love Carhartt! As a lifetime construction worker I need tough yet comfortable clothing. In that regard nothing beats Carhartt! I bought some shorts that were a really tight fitting short. So I set out to get some that were not tight fitting since I have a lower back issue. These are great, they fit nicely and comfortable.

Some Carhartts are mislabeled. I take size 34" waist, and these shorts are labeled 34" but they're so tight I can't wear them. This is the second time this has happened with the beige canvas shorts. They've been laundered once so I seriously doubt I can return them.

I ordered a 36 waist and it runs small for me. I know what your thinking, Maybe I gained weight. But all my other 36 inch jeans and shorts fit fine.

When I got the shorts I tried them on and they fit perfectly. Unfortunately I washed them In cold water (didn’t dry them) and they shrunk a ridiculous amount. They went from a 34 waist to a 30 or 31. No it’s not a Corona Virus weight gain issue lol. Suggest you order at least a couple sizes bigger. Quality is great but not when they aren’t wearable.
