Very warm and comfortable socks! Great for winter wear around the house or a cold-weather hike. Somewhat bulky, so they're great with shoes/boots that are on the roomy side. They don't slide down inside footwear at all. They seem very sturdy after a month of regular wear and several cycles of machine washing and air-drying. I also bought two other kinds of Carhartt wool socks but the website won't let me review them for some reason. They're all great and worth every penny!
I got these socks for my husband's Christmas gift. I also purchased Cold Weather Boot Sock as well. Overall, the socks are very comfortable and warm indoor and outdoor equally. I would highly recommend the pair
Too be honest, I have yet to wear this pair. The weather has been too warm to try. But they seem very durable and thick and warm. I hope the elastic bands hold up

I bought these socks after looking everywhere for REAL wool socks to keep my feet warm 24/7 following chemotherapy treatments which left me with peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage) in my feet. Wool is the only natural insulator that will continue to retain heat even when wet. After I read a previous reviewer who, following chemotherapy, was pleased with his purchase of the Artic Wool Heavyweight Boot Sock to deal with his peripheral neuropathy, I decided to do the same (and bought 4 pairs). I was not disappointed. These socks are great! Comfortably warm and well padded. This is not my first (or last) experience with the Carhartt product line. I proudly own and wear Carhartt boots, work shoes, shirts, jackets, gloves, hats

Great sock, warm and stays up
These socks have way more wool than the typical "wool socks" sold at the local DIY Big Box stores. The socks are super thick and so up to the task for super cold weather. The main problem is that the feet tend to overheat easily and sweat. So I find myself often needing to take the socks off to cool down. haha.<br />Still when it's super cold out and even inside - as it often is - these are the only socks that are up to the task that I've found. Since they have some nylon then they remain tough enough for heavy use and washing also. <br />Not as breathable as pure wool but much thicker than a typical hand-made wool sock. The sock stretches enough even after it shrinks in the drier so the size is good.
I am happy with these socks, being an old time user of them. I just needed to buy some new ones, having worn out my old ones. They need to go through a couple of machine washes to snug up a little more for me, then they're perfect. Other than merino wool medium weight from Bombas for cool-cold, these Carhartts "are the Daddy" heavy socks containing sufficient wool to be warm in a colder environment. The only sock better than the aforementioned are my electric heated socks. I hate cold toes, I repeat, I HATE COLD TOES. So with my sock arsenal I am good to go. Carhartt is the best!
They may not be the best looking socks, but they are warm and are a good length. Washed in cold water in a washing machine and air dried, they still look good.

The socks work well in my boots and shoes. Keeping my feet warm and dry out in the snow.<br />I sent a few pairs to my father-in-law and he is enjoying them outdoors and indoors.

Warmest and most durable socks I own; excellent for hiking. They don't look like the photo: they're not predominantly black in appearance, they're 50/50 white and black, which give them, overall, a gray appearance. Still, the best wool warmth/durability combo our there, bar none. They're huge, like the heel comes three inches above my heel, so a smaller size would be nice.
Just wanted I needed for rides on the motorcycle in winter. Great quality with a great price.

Okay, Carhartt has nailed it with these socks!! They must be made from yeti fur!!! First you notice the sheer thick quality wool, but they arnt so chunky that you end up having to wear your “big ass boots” to work. Nope, they fit just perfect in your everyday work boot! The only way I can describe walking around in just the “yeti fur”<br />Socks, is like stepping in powder fresh snow without the cold, or walking on a cloud (I’ve never done this but I’m imagining). At the end of the day your old sucky wool socks will be all stretched out and clumping around your toes and arches; not the Carhartt Yeti Fur Socks!!!! They hold their damn position and statue! Thank you Carhartt!

The majority of my work clothes are Carhartt including boots, jeans, sweatshirts, overalls, and hooded active jacket, and I’m very happy with the quality of all of them. I didn’t care for the socks. Sorry

My feet suffer when cooler weather arrives in lower Delaware. But, with the help of these CARHARTT Arctic wool socks. I can manage that suffering by keeping these extremely comfortable and warm socks on my feet throughout the cooler seasons.. I wear one pair until they stand up by themselves in a corner then immediately change to the other pair that I own...
It's too warm, but the shoes will be tight
I purchased these just after Thanksgiving and already had to sew up holes in the socks (2 pair) and that didn’t even hold had to just throw them away. Never again Carhartt
My husband has been wearing these socks for years. He wears them years round. Says they keep moisture away from his feet.
The only fault I find with it is they could be a few inches longer. These are mid calf. I wear fully over the calf socks with these over them in freezing temperatures and that combo works REALLY well. These socks are THICK, warm, well made, good looking, true fit and the dont slide down. They stay in place......really excellent, but just a few inches too short for my taste, but I'm used to knee high socks.<br />.

Worked outdoors year round in MN. These WERE the ONLY sock that kept my feet warm. They only kept their warming ability for a season and I was ok with that. Just bought 10 pair and will be returning. Don't even keep my feet warm IN the house. Quality has gone down. Sad

Love this sock,, keeps feet nice and warm , add the carhartt base sock for extreme cold , but didn’t need that this year, have to have a little room in boot as they are thick
These are tip-top socks!! I always wear 2 pair of socks; one thin, then a thicker, comfy pair over the first ones. These socks are warm, and fits a size 15 foot (which are hard to find those sizes). A little pricy, BUT, good name- good quality, good product!!!<br />True to size.

These are the best socks on the planet! I'm a huge hiker and I can still wear shorts with these socks because they go high enough up to my knee and keep my feet and legs super warm even in minus 25 degree weather! I wish they made men's leggings or long Johns out of this material. Incredible socks!

I got these because I do automotive work and needed something to keep my feet warm and wow am I impressed. I wear a size 15 boot and these fit perfectly fine for me. They are seriously warm. I wear an 11 4E shoe. Most "large" socks simply aren't. I got these in "Extra Large" and fit perfectly. If you have a longer foot, but not as wide, they should also be just right. They didn't shrink to doll size after washing and drying. Why "arctic" socks in Scottsdale, Arizona? I wear them as house slippers in colder weather.
Bought 4 pairs and the material on sole of sock balls up and falls off during washing. Great for the first 4 or 5 washes. Then cold and thin on bottom.
i purchased 6-8 pairs of these about the same time for work and they wore through in 2-4 months. if they can fix the quality issue without compromising the comfort i would try them again. i use other carhartt products with no complaints at this time.
These socks were great, but they were so thick that the wouldn't fit in my regular work boots. You would need a size larger boot.
