The Irish Setter 11-inch Marshall Safety Toe Boots features:
This is the first I've had a set of boots that last longer that 3 months there comfortable they have lasted me about a year and half
My only problem is I'm having a very hard time getting a new pair of them in USA 11
I bought these a month ago and love them until just recently saw that the sole was coming off them already. These boots fit great and are comfortable to be in all day but can not have the sole coming off.
I couldnt be happier with this boot. I work on cement 10-12 hours 6 days a week and these boots have held up extremely well. I am now on 2 years and they are still in good shape. No rips or tears. I change the insole every 6 months or so. I will definitely buy this boot again.
I bought these boots 9 months ago. I love the feel fit and function. The break in period was really not all that bad but man these boots were not made for concrete. I have literally worn the tread on these boots smoother than a pair of racing tires. Also there is damage starting to show up around the heel of the boot where the sole is separating from the heel. I enjoyed the boots while I had them. But would've preferred a deeper tread and maybe a firmer sole. These being compared to 2 competitive brands are nowhere near the quality or the longevity for the price tag.
I bought this boot about a year ago. To do heat and cooling in.
Only used them when in the snow. And then waited about halfway through the summer to use them again. (Wanted to wear out a different pair of boots). I've kept up on oiling them but they seem to always leak through. Ibcant keep my feet dry in these. Im working in wet conditions. So when they say water proof I expect that. I paid way too much for boots that can hold up for less than a years work.
I've have cheaper bots that lasted longer.
I do not recommend these boots.
had them about 2 years, nothing better in my opinion. still holding up like brand new boots. i’ve even had one get hit by fireworks.
I bought these boots about 8 months ago, the boots are pretty comfy and gave me a good fit. Up until about 7 months of owning them they performed well. Now the inside of the boot on the heel is falling apart. The liner is torn and I cant even get the boot off anymore! The only way to get them off is if I put my hand down the boot to hold the liner so it doesnt catch my heel. Along with that, the stitching is starting to come apart on the heel from the outside. Not much traction with the tread of these boots either, I slip around non stop. These boots have had the shortest life span outve every boot I have worn.
Company paid for boots a year ago, been wearing 4-5 days a week in a factory environment. Work in maintenance at a manufacturing facility. Comfortable boot from day one, minimal break in. Heel of liner is failing but this is a trend for me in lined boots. Looking to purchase another set when they are more available.
I’ve owned a lot of boots for my construction/heavy haul place of employment and I have to say that the Marshall 13D ST/WP/EH is by far the best boots I’ve ever had the pleasure of putting on my feet every morning! Comfortable, keeps your feet dry and above all else won’t let your feet freeze in the Midwest winters. 10/10 would recommend!!!!
After reading some one star reviews after owning these and seeing that it was quite a small percentage of people getting boots that didn’t have working waterproofing, so I’m here to speak up. I am in the demolition business. I’m an operator and laborer just depending on what needs to get done. I worked in a scrapyard torch cutting trucks apart for a few months, consistently getting 50-60 year old diesel truck oil and coolant on these things. I an around lots of sharp metal at ground level and these boots have held up well against being stabbed and scraped with sharp metal on a daily basis. Both the soles and the sides all the way up to the top of the boot. One thing I can say about these boots after about 6 months of 6 day a week work is that if you get a working pair, They work. No question. Cant speak on the durability of the toe yet, because I haven’t had them for too long but I would definitely buy another pair if they last me a year. A lot of people don’t understand. You pay $200 for a work boot. You get a $200 work boot. There are boots that last longer. That’s why they cost more money. Overall great every day beat up work boot.
The first pair of boots to last more than one year in the rough element, worth ever single dime!
My first pair of western work boots was Ariats and they lasted for almost a year, my 2nd pair was a pair of Justin's, and they lasted about 6 maybe 7 months. My 3rd pair I've bought were these Irish Setters! All 3 pairs I wore standing on my feet 8-10 hours a day working in a warehouse and driving a forklift, however I shifted gears and became a UPS driver Sept. 2021...literally last year lol. These not only withstood the amount of stress I put on them at my last my job (I wore them EVERY. DAY.), but also wearing them to work at UPS, and also wearing them casually with my street clothes.
Bought this boot for fire department use over two years ago and it still looks and feels great, polish/clean them about twice a month, some of the most comfortable boots I have ever owned
ABSOLUTELY love the Irish Setters I’ve had my pair since 2018 and they’re still going strong as ever. No holes, leaks or tears in the leather or soles. Will definitely be buying another pair.
I bought these boots two days ago. 1st day wearing them and the stitching at the toe has started to unravel and the insulation by the heel had come loose.
Every comfortable but they run big and past the return date had them for 4 years but still wear them
Most comfortable boot I've been able to find period. Are yall going to be restocking them anytime soon my husband has been looking everywhere for soft toe
I have had these boots for less than a month doing heavy highway and bridge construction. The heel already has very noticeable wear and the leather on the toe has busted. Also, the boot is extremely uncomfortable. It feels like I’m barefoot on concrete all day. I tried to return them but they were not excepted due to damage. I have never had boots wear down this fast or be so uncomfortable. I am very disappointed.
Will never buy from red wings again do not come with a comfortable warranty and super pricey I will stick to buying boots that are made in mexico
I bought these boots about a week ago and they are so far vey durable and most comfortable boots I ever have worn the people at store got me fitted correctly so I could work the next day since my old boots gave out a few days before I was going to do a big job even though I only have had these boots for a week I while post another review a few months letting you know how they hold up
I have had these boots for 4-5 years. I wear out a pair every year. I am on my feet all day and wear the boots 12-15hrs a day 7 days a week at work. They are super great comfortable boots. They stay pretty waterproof. Been super happy till i received my last pair. Hasn't felt like they have broken in. Been wearing them for a few months and my feet are worn out by the end of the day. Not sure if they changed the sole but definitely unhappy with this last pair. My review would be 4.5 if it wasn't for this last pair.
I bought these just today and they are amazing I have had them on all day and my feet don’t hurt like my clunky Ariats did but still they were nice but these are better because the look I can wear them to a special occasion and they look like dress boots but I can wear them to work and them feel amazing these are just great boots for the $220 price!!
First let me say, I have as flat feet as flat feet can get. With that being said, the insoles take a beating but they take it well. Secondly, I've had these boots for two years and as expected, the heel liner has torn and am gonna get it repaired. But that's to be expected since I'm a heavy equipment mechanic. The outer leather over the toes is torn, cut, etc... And they are still waterproof. Don't listen to the pepe that bash these boots just because they are part of the few that just happened to get "the lemons". Manufacturing is never perfect. Love these boots and will never buy any other brand. I prefer these over Ariat any day.
I've been at the same job for over 20 yrs, These have held up the longest, almost a year. They are very comfortable, I can wear them all day without any issues I'm an aircraft mech, I do a lot of walking on concrete, scaffolding, walking up and down stairs, bending squatting crawling over concrete, metal and skid resistant surfaces. Toes and soles take a beating. No problems with seams. Wear on toes can show up after a couple days of work. I also use boots for hunting, fishing, all around house work. Theses boots are priced the same as competition and are made of better quality materials.
On my third pair now and wishing I could find a fourth (limited factory production means they're not available at the time of writing this review).
Pros: Solid construction, tough as nails, great color, readily takes an oil when they're thirsty, super comfortable when they finally break in. Honestly can't ask for more.
Cons: The fabric liner is just garbage at the heels. All three pairs have had to have leather patches installed to repair it. Invest in a shoe horn to prolong them, but expect to have to repair it. Speaking of repairs the outsole wears through rather quick in rugged environments. For shop work they're great, but if you're outside regularly expect to replace it or pick a more rugged boot. Lastly the break in period. For some reason these guys just take forEVER to break in. Tried oil, soaking, even threw a pair in the dryer to warm them up (did I mention they're tough?), nothing helps. Just gotta wear 'em until they submit.
Honestly the only reason I drop a star is for that stupid liner issue. Seems like such an easy fix to just reinforce it or put a leather patch in place during construction, yet it's still there. That said I'm still gonna buy another pair whenever they go back into production.
They seem to carry me instead of me carrying them. Can't stop walking, so comfortable. If they have them in black that would have been better but love the brown probably going to dye them darker.
ive had these boots almost a year. have held up to mowing at work all activities and at home .been pretty good for my flat feet i will by another pair
I have purchased three pair of the boots for work over the years. Both previous pairs have held up outstanding for multiple years. The most recent pair, purchased in October 2021, already have deep cuts and gouges in the leather. I work the same job I always have. I dont know if this leather is softer or what, but I am disappointed with the quality compared to previous pairs. I work in Public Works.
So I bought these under the impression that Irish setter/ redwing is for folks with more narrow feet. I went to my local boot store to pick these up. They fit my feet like a glove, I found the best inserts were timberland pro’s. The inserts from the factory are comfortable but no good for someone that’s on concrete for 12 hours. The soles wear like iron, walking across concrete, iron grating, and anything between dirt and plastic. These have stood the test oh what I think a great work boot is. I’m 5’8 on a good day, 185 lbs, my foot size measured is a 8.5 AA. The most narrow feet in the world lol. I figured no one absolutely no one would have boots on the shelf for me. Let alone ones that I absolutely love the look of. The square toes had me skeptical at first. But my feet contract and swell throughout me working so I’m happy with them. I ordered a size 8.5 D and nothing but great things. Waterproof wise it’s there too. Florida’s monsoon seasons don’t mess around. Submerged these boots still hold up great. Perfect for everything that I do. They’re pretty light too, I can run in these boots like I was wearing a pair of nike’s. I take care of my boots with Murphy’s oil soap, leather conditioner, and mink oil. I hope for years of work out of these. It’ll be a year next week since I’ve had them.
Extremely comfortable straight out of the box, have held up great for the time I’ve had em.
Not happy at all boots did not hold up to whats suppose to be superior quality
I’ve had these boots for about a year. Approximately 3-4 months ago, the left liner ripped near my heal and I couldn’t get my foot out of the boot. Well I cut the liner with a scissor and managed to escape. I continued to use the boots with a ripped left liner until now... The right boot liner has ripped at the heal. I’m very disappointed in these boots since I’ve worn Red Wing work boots for 18 years. I have a pair of Red Wing Pecos that have lasted since 2008. I’m not expecting much as I’m well out of the warranty period but I expected something offered by the Red Wing Shoe Company to last a little longer than a year. This pair of boots has turned me away from the Irish Setter brand and I’m seriously questioning if I want to continue my business with Red Wing Shoes. It’s sad as I’m from Red Wing, MN.
Awsome quality very comfortable looks very good would recommend
These are the most comfortable, easiest to put on, and durable boots that I have owned. I’ve had for almost 2 years and only a little bit of the steel is showing. I even climb poles in these boots and I can be up there for over an hour without any pain or discomfort. I condition with mink oil maybe every two months to keep the leather from drying and cracking. I went into a red wing store to try on and went half a size down. Will be buying these again.
Bought these almost a year ago and they still look great! I'm in construction and these boots are the absolute best ones I've had yet! Ariats don't even hold a candle to these boots! Comfortable on my feet and they actually stay dry. I've put them through the wringer and they still perform flawlessly. Gonna buy another pair just for casual wear. I like them that much and will not buy any other brand of work boot.
I do hvac work and wear these boots 6-7 days a week, I don’t put them through the toughest conditions possible but they still get put through the trials. They fit well and have not fallen apart yet. They are a little bit bulky but most boots are, plus after standing for 16 hours straight your feet do feel strained but I don’t think any boot can really help with that.
I wore the boots 6 days a week while working and walking all the time and they finally gave out on me after 3 years off wear. The were comfortable the whole time even when they were brand new. The liner finally ripped in them and my foot got stuck in it which is why I can’t wear them anymore.
I was worried when I bought these 15 months ago, due to all the negative reviews about the liner coming out and the boot's falling apart. I did NOT experience this.
We live on a hobby farm. Cattle, Goats, horses... So we start early and stop late. I wear these 6 out of 7 days, 9-15 hours a day and they work. I don't take care of them either. I've not cleaned or conditioned them since I put them on.
Couple of odd things (even since day 1) They keep your feet dry if you cross a creek, but walking through tall damp grass my feet get soaked??
Overall I like them, and will probably buy another pair. I've worn Muck boots that last 6-9 months, and my feet get all hot. So if you compare them to Muck's, they last longer and are more comfortable.
I have work in various jobs, from railroading, food plants “freezer” -32f, and now millwright maintenance at chemical plant. I’m always on my feet these boots have never let me down, comfortable, dry, warm and dependable. I love the Marshall style boots I will always buy. My only down fall I never got the camo style! Wish they bring them back!!
I've been in these on the job regularly for the past two years. Ultra comfortable, extremely durable and they stay dry. Irish Setter - please never stop making this model!
Amazing quality ive had these since beginning of last summer and they are great.
Just like most other boot I've had they were only waterproof for about 3 months. Insoles started coming apart 3 weeks in. I admit I'm very hard on boots. 6 to 7 days a week, 12 hr a day and in and out of the mud all day. I'd be happy to pay twice what these cost if they'd make a square toe waterproof slip on boot that would hold up and had a warranty to back it up.
I have not had a boot last longer then 3 months until these. I started ted wearing them as a gravedigger, dealing with water and dirt, they stood up for a year. Only thing that happened was the sole cracked in the middle, pushing a shovel down everyday was the cause, but the boot still held up for a year.
Now in construction again, electrical work, fourth pair, walking at least 4 miles a day, boots are still great after a year. Only thing that went bad was the shoe insert pad.
I buy the boot insert for my low arch when i buy the boots new.
Love these boots! No foot pain, helps with lower back pain also. Sole is still good, wear is typical for my rough work conditions. Lasting longer then 12 months, well worth the price for me. I would spend more by buying new boots every three months. And not having to go shopping is a big plus for me.
I also like not lacing up, slip them on, and go to work.
I also found that if i do not oil them, helped. Let them wear in naturally, stiff for a week, then I'm good.
Thank you,
Harley Sumner
Bought these boots about a year ago. The heel ripped out about 6 months later, Took them into Red Wing boots store and they told me they wouldn't do anything about it, because it has no type of warranty. I will never buy another pair, $194 boot should last a lot long then 6 months.
Best Christmas gift ever! Wifey gifted these amazing boots! Comfortable and stylish! Haven't been disappointed with a Redwing product yet.
I bought this boot about 19 months ago still going strong. I'm 6"2 370 pounds wear them 5 to 6 days a week in the petroleum industry never had a boot last this long. Just this month on the toe the leather is torn. If it wasn't for that I would probably wear them longer but it looks like I'll be getting another pair soon.
I am glad to have found these. They ran a little smaller but extremely happy with them.
I’ve had them for about 4 months and they aren’t the most comfortable boots to work in they were great at first then all of a sudden I started to get water in my boots and I had to pin holes on each boot and I’ve tried returning them but they told me they couldn’t and I had the receipt and all probably won’t be buying these again the comfort in them we good at first then all of a sudden my feet started to kill me everyday so I bought inserts and that helped
These are good boots no need too stretch them out or get extra souls.their very comfortable an a good pair too work in or just have for casual wree.
I spend 8 to 10hrs on my feet in the field, 6 to 7 days a week. These boots fit my needs and then some. Stylish, durable and more importantly; comfortable. I rarely see more than a season with other slip on boots but with Irish Setters you know they are gonna last. You get what you pay for and these are definitely worth the money!
After I got them home I just don't like the way they look it was not what I thought I was getting will try and return them for something else
I bought these about 7 months ago and the liner started ripping about 3 months in. The liner now is to the point that I can hardly get my foot in the boot. Very disappointing to spend this much on boots and see so many people have problems.
My only issue was they were 1/2 size too small had to get a 10 wide width....instead of 9.5 wide width...other than that extremely comfortable
I have a bad back and of all of the work boots I've bought, these are the one type I have bought for the 5th time in a row. Almost 7 years worth of use and still love them
Been wearing these for 10 months now. I walk about 3-4 miles a day in manufacturing facility, and love the fit of these. I can also say that they work, and I'd probably be missing a few toes had I not been wearing them when my foot was caught underneath a forklift. I came out injury free, and aside from a tear in the leather on the top of the boot, they are undamaged.
I bought these boots 6 months ago and they are the best boots I have owned so far. No water gets in my feet stay dry.
Since I started working I’ve only worn redwing boots because they’re study and comfortable. These aren’t any different. They require a little bit of effort to get on, but they’re really comfy (and also stylish, which is a pleasant bonus). I haven’t had to work in them in the rain yet, but I don’t have any reason to believe they won’t perform as advertised.
They look great. After wearing them a day or two though, I realized how uncomfortable they are. It’s unfortunate as this brand is always my go to.
Just bought a pair of these today and they are great.
When you try them on you will see what I mean the leather is soft right out of the box and that’s because they are made by Redwing.
So try on a pair today and I know you will walk out with them in your hand.
Bought 2 months ago and am concerned already starting to show minor ripping on sides of steel toe. My job I need the steel toe more as a precaution for environments I’m in than the work I do there. So by no means would say they were put through excessive abuse to result in it.
I bought these boots 2 months ago.. And immediately once I put them on with the new insoles they felt amazing.. My old boots I would hate putting them on, now everytime I go to work I have a comfortable pair of boots to get me through the day..
I’ve used a few of the other brands at about 1/2 the price that last just as long but they don’t feel as good as these the feeling goes away after about 4-5 months so I buy 2 pairs a year dollar dollar bills y’all
I like those boots. Fit well and didn't take long to break in. Waterproof at least to the ankle. Haven't gone beyond that. Good tread for working outside. I would buy a pair of these for everyday wear. The only downfall for me with all redwing boots is that they need better insoles. You can purchase from redwing for an extra cost but for what you pay they should be included.
I have a pair of the 83912’s and I will say that they have been the best boots I ever had. They are not to heavy which is great for wearing all day.
The waterproof is great they are not hot on when those days are 90 plus degrees they really breathe good.
I will be buying these boots again maybe in a different color and soft toe so I hope you don’t stop making them. Get yourself a pair today you will not be sorry.
I bought these 2-3 months ago and they hurt my feet, even when I’m sitting down I have to
Take my boots off worst boots I have ever bought
I have had these a month or 2 now and am very pleased with them. The are extremely comfortable. I also bought the thicker inserts to go with them. I’m not sure if it is the boots or the insert but I’m able to wear these all day 10 to 14 hours and not have my feet hurt. I can walk for days. These are a little heavier than others I have but are very worth the money payed for them.
I bought the same pair of slip on steel toe work boots, every year, for 20 years. The company stopped making them and I was lost, since I felt like those boots were part of my identity. I‘m very hard on boots and I tried several different types before a friend told me about his Red Wing Irish Setters. I gave them a shot. It was the first pair of square toes I ever wore in my life. Looking down and not seeing a rounded steel toe boot took some getting used to, but now I couldn’t go back to a round toe. It only took a few minutes before I realized how great they are, especially if you’re working on your feet all day. They’re much lighter than any others I’ve had and are much more comfortable when standing, walking, or kneeling in a fixed position to weld something in a tight spot (because your foot isn’t rolling on a round toe). They’re very durable. I think they’ll last a normal working man about a year.
I just bought my third pair. I love them so much, I keep one for work, and a nice clean pair to wear out. When the work boots wear out, I promote the clean pair to work status, and buy a new pair to keep clean. I sure hope you guys keep making these boots just how they are, so I can continue buying them every 8-12 months forever. Thanks for making a great product.
We get these thru our work. Partially paid for. Not comfortable at all. Wrnt the extra an got the special insoles. Have been hoping they would break in... Not expecting to help
I didn't get the size I originally asked for. Upon receipt I find out there are no exchanges or returns. I spend roughly $200 a year at Red Wing through my employer. I think I'll use the option to have custom-made shoes reimbursed instead. Their return policy blows.
I bought this a month ago and they’re the best boots I’ve bought
Best boots I've found and only ones I buy anymore. Would never know they are steel toes unless you step on them. So comfortable I wear them for work and leisure. And they look great.
Boots look great but don’t hold up to construction environments well. First pair was falling apart 2 months in, stitching busting and toes wearing out. Those issues were resolved with steel toe protector for the second pair, which are now crumbling at the soles after 4 months. Would not recommend these especially for the price tag.
Bought this pair of boots 2 months ago, I was expecting them to last a year or so but they didn't. A whole 2 months later they had holes in the front of the boot exposing the steel toe. Overall, really disappointed with this purchase since I paid 200 just to know I threw my my money in the garbage. Not buying any of these brands again.
I bought my first pair of Red Wing boots in 1994 and they lasted me approximately 26 years. I finally got around to purchasing another pair and I absolutely love these. Extremely comfortable and significantly better than the Ariats I got a couple years ago. No comparison. Red Wing boots stand alone.
The company I work for got us a gift card to the redwing store, the boots are so awesome I use them for personal use.
Love the boots to bad they are not made in America!
After buying a pair and a week of use, my boots began to stretch to almost 3 sizes greater than their original size 10. Yes the boots were exposed to mild moisture light mud, no soaking of any kind. After being disappointed I tried returning to the retailer to explain my troubles and hopefully come to a solution. After hearing that my boots fell under the no warranty category which was failed to be brought to my attention the seller than apologized that there was nothing that could be done. All and all i am extremely disappointed in the craftsmanship, customer service and the overall experience.
I received my boot voucher from the company I work for and couldn’t wait to get a pair of these boots. Boy was this a mistake as these boots are almost trash already. I work in underground construction (Directional Drilling) and yes it is pretty wet out there at times. In the same factors though, I’ve had a pair of $100 Justin’s last twice as long as these Irish whatevers. Don’t waste $200 of your hard earned $$$ on these low quality boots!
I’ve had I think 4 or 5 pairs of these boots. I work in a crane yard as a rigger 12-15 hour days. Rain or shine, sleet or snow. Wind and lightning only thing that truly stops us. I will go thru a pair in 7 months, but I expect that. At least at a good pair. That’s why I keep buying these. I recommend the leather and not the fabric just because stitching unlike materials together to cause weak points. Plus I feel leather is strong and better. That being said my grandpa owned a leather shop. I digress. Do read any bad reviews on hear to be completely true. Sounds like most people just bought the wrong size boots. Slippage causes holes to be worn inside the boots. I also worked along The Appalachian Trail at an outfitter for 7 years. Properly fitted many hikers boots and handle warranties as well. Just go get fitted properly and remember the person helping you can’t tell you how your feet feel in the boots. That’s your call to listen to how they’re supposed to feel. You decide if that’s how the feel.
Regardless, I talk too much about gear I like. These boots are no joke. I’ve spent a ton more and got a lot less.
Buy them!!... in the correct size mind you
I really like these boots, their confortable and they look great
I am a farmer/homesteader and have always owned a pair of Irish Setters. I live in Indiana and wear my boots while tending to our property and farm. I was recently in Conroe, TX visiting my folks and decided to stop at a local Red Wing store to purchase a new pair of Irish Setters. At first, the boots we're everything that they have always been, comfortable, spongy on the feet, like a new pair of boots. Fast forward a couple months and I am a little disappointed at the fit/feel. They are certainly not as comfortable as they usually are after only two months. I normally don't start feeling wear until almost a year later. I put my boots through the ringer on the farm and they always feel new. This new pair, however, almost feels like a returned-pair that were previously worn, which is disappointing. The right boot is really loose and my foot slides a lot in that boot, as a result causing a bolster. The left is tighter, but since I have a high arch feels almost like it is a standard width, not a DD-fit. The last pair of Irish Setters I purchased was six years ago, yeah I said six years. Tip: once the tip of the boot starts laying flat on the ground while standing, they're ready for either a resole or you're ready for a new pair. I am hoping that the engineers did not change this boot because this new pair is not what these boots used to be. Nevertheless, I have transitioned back to my old Justin boots (chicken boots only) for now because they don't give my right foot a blister. Recommendation: If you read reviews for validation prior to purchase like I do, I recommend that you not judge these boots solely on my review because I may have always had a great experience with these boots; except this time I received a bad pair of boots which is certainly possible and could happen to anyone.
First time wearing the boot style. Have no issues been wearing different brands of boots over 30 years. Pretty happy with how these boots perform in the water and outside construction that I do.
These boots are very comfortable. I'm in these boots for 12 hours a day. They remain comfortable and the entire day. They are very durable. Very good boots!
I had a brown pair that held up really good I went back to try to get the same pair but they didn’t have any more so I got the black pair and they are already falling apart at the toes around the steel toe.
Great the first 8months! They look great. Then it start going down hill. I’m a concrete finisher I use my boots since I leave my house till I get home, 6 days a week. My boots they my feet start now. It’s time to start looking for a different brand, same style. Just man the fact that they look great on my feet isn’t enough I’m a hard working man. I can’t keep having the same problem. It’s my second time purchasing them.
I love the Red Wing Marshalls. They are comfortable, durable, and easy to slip on and off. I would recommend these steel toes work boots.
Iv been wearing the same boot for about 5 years now. I buy a new pair every year I love these boots I wear them everyday of the year doing a very wide variety of work from concrete or landscaping to framing and drywall I do it all. These boots are tough and the leather holds up for a long time. I would recommend these boots to anyone that works outdoors!! Only thing this year was my new pair is a bit bigger and Dosnt fit as snug as the old pairs did. I ordered the same size but my feet are slipping around and blistering up with my newest pair. Won’t stop me from buying another pair from you guys though!!
I bought these boots less than a year ago and the whole back inside of the boot the cloth is falling apart.
boots are amazing as far as keeping your feet dry how the over all construction is good. But they hurt ur feet they are really flat and they need more foot support.
Very comfy and light on feet less fatigue easy to clean as well
I've own the boots about a year and they are falling apart. Not worth the money. Would not buy again.
I work for the city and we do different types of repairs on a daily basis these boots are sturdy and comfortable out of the box my favorite pair of work boots yet I'll definitely get another pair when the time come
Just picked up a pair of these today had them on all day and no problem. They feel great and are breaking in nice
I know I will get a lot of use out of them very light weight and comfortable. Way too go Irish Setter
I’ve had these for 5 months, month 2 the leather on the toe has ripped and the steel is on its way out, month 3 the inner liner behind the heap/ankle has ripped as well making it very difficult to take off. Would not recommend this for work. Wish I would have spent my $200 elsewhere.
I’ve been using red wings for about 4 years now, Irish setters the pull up boots. Been using the same style, absolutely worth every penny.
I bought these a little over a month ago and they are so comfortable and they're not too heavy so far they've stayed waterproof they get good traction overall I couldn't be more happier with my boots
This is my 2nd pair of these boots. Had my 1st pair and wore them every day for work for 4-5 years. Sent those ones to get re-soled when I bought them. Will be my choice of boots from now on.
These boots let my foot in easily (they kinda stretch) and fit very comfortably. I was especially happy with the time they took at the store to find the right fit for me based on my feet and the type of work I do!
Felt comfortable the first time I put them on and have only gotten better. Only weird thing is I had to go a size bigger than the pair I bought couple years ago, must be my feet are growing with age.
I went into the store just to look as I was thinking about ordering online. The person working the store was extremely helpful and I ending up buying the pair in the store.
The last two pairs of these boots have worn to the steel toe in less than a few weeks. This last pair I had to flex seal the toes so the would at least last me a few months before I had to spend a few hundred dollars on another pair. Not sure I will be buying my 7th pair of these or even Red wings again this Time.
Second set of Irish Setter boots I’ve bought but first pair of Marshall’s I’ve bought. Liner is still intact and not loose, seams are still intact and not torn, and minor scuffs around the toe. Best quality and comfort boot I’ve bought. I wear them 6-7 days a week every week and work them hard and they’re still holding up after about a year.
I bought these boots about 1 month age and having worn boots for 12 years, these are the most comfortable boots i have ever worn.
I bought these boots a month ago. Still hurt my feet. At first I thought they were just hard to break in but ache never went away. I work long hours on my feet. Then I thought it was maybe just my feet but my buddy had the same pair and his feet hurt as well. I wanted to return them but when I called and asked about their return policy they said they don’t do much on comfort
I would buy another pair first pair of boots I have that make my feet feel like keep on going
I bought these going on a month now . Very comfortable and wear it both for work and out and about. Thank you
They are comfortable, well constructed and waterproof
I’ve oiled, oiled, oiled,
I got these boots for my work and they do more than what I expected really good, only problem with them that I have is that my left boot on the inside the center seem where the heel is the seem came apart so it’s hard to get the boot on
My Steel Toe boots are less than a year old
I got par of these boots and was not happy with them mad my feet hurt and I want par of red wings that had bought for and told me that did not make red wing boots that had wear for so long it made me mad because red wing had on at time was really good boots i want a nother pair
I bought these boots in 2017 and have worn them every day at work for over three years now and am just buying a second pair, and the only reason I need a new pair is because I kick my boots off and the inside heel has worn. The other boot is fine. These boots are incredible but just like any boot, you need to treat the leather and clean every few months. Want any boot to hold up? Treat the leather and clean.
I continue to buy Irish Setter boots after years of working gas and oil these are the best on my feet
I bought the first pair a couple months ago, had a fitment issue with the left boot size 10.5D. My foot kept loosing feeling. This is a problem because i spent a lot of time behind the controls of an excavator. it got so bad, i had to take off the left boot to get thru the day!!! Got a replacement pair in the mail, same thing happened, tried it out for a couple days and the boot leather wore thru on the steel toe. And im not hard on my boots i sit in a machine all day!!! These boots are absoulte GARBAGE and with a price tag as high as it is, Are ya kidding me? We work too hard for our money to be wasted on junk like this, very dissapointed in the level of quaility displayed by this manufacturer.
I bought these a little over a year ago and I really liked them but unfortunately are already worn out. The steel toe pushes in against my toe and the bottoms are worn very bad. Being a pipefitter the steel toe is very important.
Owned a Pair of these for 2 years now. Only a few days of break in time. One of the most durable boots I have ever owned for Oil and Gas industry. For the most part they still repel water but on heavy rain days they soak through. I will be purchasing another pair. Only down fall of these boots is the tread is not very aggressive and the soles can be slippery in colder weather. The inner liner is starting to come apart but I kick my boots off. I'm Hard on them, but they do not disappoint. Overall they are great boots and my feet do not get cold in these boots. But wearing a good quality socks is a must. I have other Irish Setter hunting boots that are still waterproof after 20 years of wear. I highly recommend Irish Setter!
Had my boots since around July the inside of the boot came apart on both boot was very hard to get my boot off I work in my boots 5 days a week working on semis the boots were great at first thought they would last a long time was going to buy another pair until this happened
I've owned many pair and brands of work boots in my 20 plus year career. In the last 3 years I've been exclusively wearing Red Wings both lace up and slip on, and cannot complain at all about them.
Out of the box my red wings have been very comfortable, warm and dry! When you're on your feet for 12 plus hours a day, really that's all you can ask for!
Great work boots. The wear really well, I will buy again
I bought these boots on the referral of a friend.
I’ve never found better made work boots than Red Wings, best in safety, walking and driving comfort, period!
I went shopping for redwings for the first time so glad I did very good boots .
Boots are tough but uncomfortable. They wanted to sale me some inserts but I said no die to the boots being $200 and the inserts was $60 more
I only wear Redwings because my work buys them for me, I still dont think they are worth it. I've worked here 2 years and I'm on my 4th pair, they dont last, they dont keep water out even when new, these are free to me and I prefer to spend 200 on some timberland pros
I got a pair of These boots about two years ago. Best work boot I've ever owned. The ones I have now have seen better days. I'll put some miles on these boots working in agriculture. And in rain and shine they stood the test of time. I got to buy me a new pair. Not that there's anything wrong With the old ones. They just look old and beat up.
Have had these for a while now and they are still super comfortable and handling the abuse well.
I bought these about 2 months ago. So far I’m generally happy with the product but not the way it fits. I do in-fact have an issue with the lack of knowledge the retailer has on sizing. I’m sure these boots are great if sized properly. But from what I’m seeing. I just wasted a couple hundred dollars on a improperly sized boot. The retailer told me to go even bigger than the size I have now and I went down a half size and width from what the retailer suggested and I’m still swimming in these. Make sure you get sized right for these boots or walking in soft dirt or mud will not be an option.
My favorite boot by far. Comfortable and they last. I work in the oilfield and they hold up to it. I have 2 pair. Work pays for a pair a year so now I can alternate. Last years pair are still in good shape. No tears and still waterproof. I wear the new pair when I’m not at work because they look good. When the old ones finally give up then I still have a good pair for work. The way they last though I’m going to have a stockpile. I do need a non waterproof pair just like them though to keep for non work.
So I had the Irish setter wing shooter 6” comp toe. They wore out in a couple mo this and wore u even and made it easy for me to roll my ankles. I went to the store and they took those back and traded them out for these Marshals. I have wide feet and am usually a 10.5. They put me in an 11 EE and although it’s a bit hard to slide my feet in, once they are in these feel wide enough and look better than the other ones. Only time will tell if these will stand up to 320lbs and about 5 miles of walking a day. I’m a commercial electrician in the the beginning of my career and I need good boots and comfortable boots. The wing shooters were very comfortable in the beginning. But do not last long. So I hope these marshals will last longer and withstand my construction and electrical job needs. Red wing has excellent customer service and I did not expect them to swap the wing shooters out for these. So A so far! Really happy.
These boots work good they are waterproof until the leather wears out on the steel toes. One problem is the waterproof liner separates after hiking in soaked boots for a few months making it nearly impossible to take the boot off.
Been three years with these boots , summer I don’t wear as often but they are just as comfortable as most tennis shoes .
Ive had the boots a few months now comfortable from day 1. Waterproof and good looking. You get what you pay for.
I purchased the boots and am very pleased with the comfort and fit! Plan to purchase another pair but lace ups for extra ankle support
Not sure how they are going to hold up but I just purchased my first pair today and out of the box they are already by far the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. I could literally go jogging in these. No break in period, as long as they hold up pretty good I will never buy another pair of ariats
These boots are the only ones that hold up to my demands and still be comfortable
The Irish Setter Work - Marshall boots provide comfort, durability, protection and a classic look. In short, I love how these boots look and feel.
These work boots are comfortable, and also have the support you need. Easy to take off without fighting them off
I purchased same boot 2 years earlier. Same size, same boot. These hurt my feet.
They fit well in the store and despite the employee telling me to get a size bigger because the boots are known to shrink after use, they shrank much more than i expected in some areas and not at all in others. I'm now left with one boot being tight around the toes and the other boot is just 'snug'
Bought these boots about 2 months ago and they’re the most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned. They keep my feet warm and they’ve never given me blisters.
Pretty comfortable . Only thing I really don’t like is the shaft of the boot you have to have real boot cut jeans or your pants want go over
I like the boots very much. Durable, strong, good looking. However, very little arch support, so I have to buy the additional inserts. That extra cost is difficult for a blue collar worker like myself.

I purchased these a month ago after a recommendation from my brother and he was 100% correct. They are the most comfortable and best looking boots Ive ever owned. I will be purchasing another color in the near future for sure!! I wear a 10.5 tennis shoe and the 10s fit perfect so half size smaller than normal shoes.
I’ve had 2 pairs of the Irish Setter work boots now and they are by far the best boots I have ever owned. I would go through other brands in 9mo to a year and the Irish Setters last me 2 to 2 1/2years.
These are duty boots. I wear them every third day and now that they are starting to break in they are getting more comfortable. They seemed to rub my heel at first, but now that they are fitted to my feet that problem is going away. At the redwing store they had custom fit orthotics that I tried and liked. Unfortunately they were expensive and I couldn’t get them at the time. Maybe they would have helped while they were being broken in, maybe I just need to spend the money and get them.
The boots are looking good and holding up well. They get dirty often, and a quick spray with the hose and a once over with a truck brush is about all the attention they get on a regular basis. I have cleaned them properly and put some mink oil and they looked like new.
All in all I would recommend getting a pair and just know that, like any leather boot, there will be some discomfort until they are broken in; after that they will fit like a glove.
I bought my Marshal's about a year ago, they so far have held up good, other then the insole wearing in a few places from me Walking alot in them.
These are my second pair of these boots. The first pair were purchased in 2015 and lasted 2 years of every day use in heavy industrial environments. They were the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever owned. Eventually the sole of the boot cracked and they began absorbing water and my feet were constantly damp. I purchased another style of Red Wing boots in between, but they were never quite as comfortable. A few weeks ago I purchased a new pair of Marshalls, however this newest pair immediately soaks up any water that comes in contact with them. If it's raining or I walk through the smallest puddle, my socks are immediately soaked. I don't know what happened, but these things are unwearable.
I bought a pair if your boots, had them roughly 8 months. Left boot broke a shank or something came loose causing left front of left boot to raise up. Then it was unbearable to even work in. 2 months past warranty. I took them back to where I got them from, guy said he would see if he could get a warranty on them. I just had him resolve them due to them being the most comfortable boot I've ever work. The same day bought the same new boot, have them on now. I'm waiting on my resoled ones to come back. Very comfortable, hopefully my first pair was a defect. Was just hoping that close to warranty, I could have gotten another pair. Instead I bought a new pair of same boot and paid to resolve old ones that messed up. Very comfortable, just hope second pair last a year. If not I'll go back to another brand. Thanks
I bought these and I can no longer wear them. I could only wear these with very thin socks. I can no longer wear them because my foot hurts now. It feels like it has squeezed my foot from sides and the top of my foot is wear it hurts.
This is the third pair of Irish Setters I’ve bought. I still have the first pair from three years ago and they still don’t let water in which in my field of work ( commercial new plumbing construction) when it rains you are walking through mud and water puddles anckle deep. Also they are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn, I used to get home from work and put on a pair of tennis shoes to do work around the house but it doesn’t even cross my mind to do so now.
I bought these boots for construction work and the sole on these have 0 traction. I slip in the mud/snow. Never again will I buy these.
I bought these a little over a month ago best boot by far!
I bought my Irish Setters about a month ago for work. The pull on boots have met and exceeded my every expectation thus far. Looking forward to many more years with RedWing
I got these boots about 4 months ago. They feel light on my feet compare to other brand boots. Water proof is a plus for. They are in cement, dirt, mud, rocks, water, even uneven terrain all day long. I Would recommend these boots.
I’ve owned many pairs of boots and shoes in my lifetime, I’m extremely hard on my footware and typically boots last me on average 6months. In most cases the sole separates or I wear out the lining behind my heel within a month or two. These boots though are great my company pays for my footwear each year and since I’ve never had a pair last I got a new pair last year that are still sitting in the box as these are now 2 yrs old. Never expected them to last this long and I still have yet to wear out the lining though my inner sole pad does need replaced. Only within the last 2 weeks has a hole in the leather on the steel toe formed. To be fair though I don’t treat these with anything so that’s saying a lot for this brand. Also for what it’s worth I work in the natural gas industry so various things end up spilt on them as well
Not great for working on the river. Doesn’t last long
Bought these boots a couple months ago. Zero complaints. Went 1/2 a size smaller than normal and the leather stretched the perfect amount.
These Boots have held up great to the industrial maintenance abuse I put them through.. the tuff toe also makes a huge difference for the life of the boot
Switched to Red Wing from Justin Boots seems like alot better quality so far. Very comfortable boots been wearing them a little over a month now.
Hands down the most comfortable work boots I’ve ever owned.
Just picked up a pair of these boots, after using many other quality brands. Right out of the box, they are comfortable, feel great, look good etc. I am very happy with the purchase, and look forward to using them.
I bought these like 2 months ago and water got in them so I got a second pair and the second pair also got water in them so I went and returned them back
I bought these about a month ago, very comfortable, wore the toe out from kneeling. Used some tuff toe, alls good
Love these boots hard to beat when it comes to comfort
Very comfortable. Good for casual outings after work.
One of the best work boots ever owned I use all day
I got these boots for work i just love them and plan on getting another pair cuz i love them that much
They seem well built and fit pretty good, just be ready for a long break in period. Bought these boots a few months ago and they are just now breaking in finally...
Great work boots but too heavy to keep on all day long
I bought boots two months ago, and there super comfortable, I love them.
Have been wearing my new boots for a couple of months. Very comfortable with virtually no break in required. The sole inserts are a must have.
I will never wear anything else! These work boots are incredible
I was doubtful about my boots when I first put them on because they felt different. I have worn a number of boots over the past 30 years. I normally had boots that I had to break in but these were broken in from the beginning. I can truly say that these are the most comfortable boots that I have ever worn for work.
I bought these boots 8 months ago. I have worn them 6-7 days a week 5 days a week walking in concert and grass for 15 hours a day. I have used and abused these boots. The sole has held up great. The fabric on the inside ripped and I have worn a hole in the back of the boots. The seam across the boot has started to tear. They are still the best work boot IV ever owned! I can wear them all day at work come home and would rather put them back on than my Ariat boots. 10 out of 10 would buy again!

The outside seems fine so far but the liner inside seems to be coming loose... it bunches up when I slide them on. Never experienced this with a new set of boots. Maybe if they was a year old and you wore them everyday sweating in them. Had it happen to a different set but felt they did their job. This set may be a month and a half old.
I am very pleased with my product thus far. I was very pleased with the salespersons' who help me select the proper boot and I am extremely happy with the insert. My boots solved my feet and hips from aching. I would definetly recommend this product!
I purchased these a month ago by the suggestion of the salesman. He was definitely right about the comfort. Broke in nicely.
I have had these boots a little less than 2.5 months now. Comfort wise these are the most comfortable pair of boots I have ever owned. Now leather quality is ok no cracks in leather, but however the steel toe wore through my selected boots unusually quick. I have worn many pairs of steel toed boots before and some were horrible but all the leather of other pairs lasted twice as long.
Bought these over two years ago, and they are the best boots I’ve ever owned! Definitely buying another pair
My boots are great love them Also wear them to work hunting walking around the house and more
I bought these boots for an oilfield job I was working Where I Stood hours on end in water oil salt diesel slamming pipes against my feet kicking things all over the place running into rocks running up and down the Derrick and these boots have lasted me 7 years and are finally ready for retirement after living this life 7 days a week I can't wait to get another pair even though they're now falling apart due to years of neglect and abuse they're still comfortable
I bought these boots a month ago. I was surprised how quickly they broke in. Most comfortable Red Wings I have purchased so far.
They are great boots Indeed. Only 1 down fall I wish the steal toe was a little more insulated for winter month as I work outside and a thicker sock makes my feet sweaty
very comfortable, keeps my feet warm and dry and easy to clean.
These boots are really comfortable, (I did get some inserts too), and they look great. I have wore these at work in coal and sulfur. The high tops kept the debris out. I also cleaned them up to wear out on runs around town. They are a bit tougher to get on than off. I do not need a boot jack to take these off. I have the black ones instead of the brown ones pictured.
Best boots I have ever own . Easy cleaning and best Protection no water gets in and light boots
Awesomeness, best boots perfect form and that’s coming from a true Texan
Pretty goo boot...although the inside of my left boot is coming apart at the hee
I have had these boots I believe for a little over a month maybe a month and a half, absolutely love them! The fit is perfect, love the square toe style and my favorite part, Realtree Camo! These are the second best/ comfortable boot I have ever gotten and wore for work. Looking forward to getting me another pair of the same boot.
Honestly they have been crapping out in like 4 months ... sole wore out in the back and leaking when I work in small puddles of water... but I'll continue to buy Redwing
My boots are right at 2 months old. They are still just as comfortable as the day I bought them but with one problem. The left boot squeaks and crunch’s with each step. This started a month ago... sad sad sad $200 boots
The best boots I’ve ever owned! Couldn’t be happier with the quality!
I bought my first pair of redwing boots finally after years of debate to spend the money. I bought everything that the store manager recommended. Needless to say that after a month and a half my feet really hurt after about 5 hours of use. I purchased the updated customized insoles as well as the socks. Not very satisfied thus far.
Good boot, holds up very nice. just not much ankle support but that’s expected with a slip on
I have not had these boots very long but these are the extremely comfortable straight out of the box. Is the leather that covers the actual foot a treated leather, because it's so soft it almost feels like suede. I would like to know a recommendation for products to treat the leather to best take care of them.

I was not happy with the boots when I first got them but after a few days of wearing them I broke them in. The gentleman at the store I bought them from was very helpful in making the boots work for me.
I bought my boots around the first of September, by the end of the month they were falling apart. Took back to store and guy traded them out under warranty but told me it was a one time deal because I "work outside and they are exposed to the elements" which of course is what any work boot should be made for. The new pair that I got already have worn spots in them including holes in the toe exposing the steel toe after only 2 weeks. These are the most expensive boots I have ever bought and the crappiest. My last pair was from Walmart and made it an entire year before needing replacement. I had great expectations for these boots but have been constantly dissapointed in them. But in all fairness even though they have holes in them and leak water after only 2 weeks of use, they are probably the most comfortable boots I have ever worn.
The boot shrunk around my foot within a month. Red Wing refuses to do anything about it
Love the boots 2nd pair I buy but for some reason these got saggy around the ankle area and my feet are pretty much loose inside the boots
I’ve had my boots for a few months now and they are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever had! I will always come back to red wing!
These boots are great, I actually bought a second pair. After about a year the backs of them went out and I wasn’t able to get them off of my feet’s without struggle. They lose their color very quickly but overall a great boot.
Haven't had my Marshall's for too long but I am definitely impressed so far. Overall comfortable, toughness is there I admit it does scuff easy but most can be rubbed out. Waterproof on point. Love my Marshall's.
Great boots. Wear these. All day everyday 7 days a week work home hiking for everything
I decided to try a slip on boots this boot works out great plenty of room and Great stitching and style my feet feel good at the end of the day
I bought these boots a month ago with high standards given the brand. Only worn out a handful of times, the inner liner tore open along the seam. The comfort level is no better than many $60 pair of workboots. They did not really blow me away as expected by the brand.
On my 3rd pair. 1st 2 lasting 2 seasons of construction each.
Had these for over 18 months and doing great. I wear them for work and chores around my property very comfortable and have held up nicely
These boots are very comfortable and fit great. They are also true to size. I wear them for work 90 percent office, 10 percent field and they seem fairly durable. My only complaint is as others have stated the internal liner comes loose. I haven't had a issue with not being able to put on or remove the boots yet, but I do have to put the liner back in place often.
I have now been wearing these boots for a little over a month and these are the most comfortable pair of steel toe boots I have ever worn. Even though I am required to only required to wear these during jobsite visits, I find myself wearing these boots as my everyday pair of shoes. I will definitely purchase these boots again.
I bought these boots a couple months ago and love them. Put the custom inserts as well. I wear them everywhere.
First of all I want to commend the Red Wing dealer of New Braunfels, Texas. They were very knowledgeable and helpful in pointing me toward the correct boot fit for me. Well Done!! I’m extremely satisfied with the boots I purchased. In my line of work comfort is key in a work boot and these are like walking on a cloud! Thank you so much for making my job easier!!
I'd never bought Red Wing boots before, do I didn't know what I was missing out on. These are the most comfortable boots I've ever had, and they seem extremely well-made. I will probably stick to Red Wing boots, from now on.
I bought these jokers about 2 months ago now and aside from the guy at the store selling me the wrong size, they are supremely durable and comfortable boots.
I bought these about 3 months ago and they are holding up great. It took about a week in a half for them to break in, but when they did they fit like a glove! I like the way it hugs my foot but is still easy to slip on.
Very comfortable boots, been wearing them for 5 years now. 3 pairs bought in total, by the 4th to 6th month of being worn the liner failed on all 3 pairs (ripped away from wall). Will not recommend especially at the $200 price tag. I’ve had other brand boots and they’ve lasted a lot longer. The store in Utica, Michigan is no help, their customer service should be an embarrassment for Red Wings. I work in Manufacturing and know a lot of people that wear the product, not a lot of happy customers.
Comfortable and don't take a lot of time to break in. They're standing up like a champ to the wear and tear of work in the field and play on the farm.
I’ve had these boots for about 2 months now and after wearing them every day they still cause no problems. Very comfortable pair of boots for work or to go out on town with. They hold up very well and take a beating! Definitely will buy another pair!
On my 2nd pair in 4 years fixing to buy my 3rd pair. Absolutely love these boots! Their comfortable and tough. The pair I have are 2 years old and just now started to come apart. My feet are in them 14-16 hours a day from driving a semi truck to farm work. I will not buy anything else but Irish setter Marshall well worth the money.
I have had my pair for two months now and a absolutely love the craftsmanship and comfort!
I really am Happy with these boots ....very comfortable and durable boots .....I hope redwing will continue making these boots forever !!
Great boots comfortable all day long
Recommended!
I had bought these boots about month and a half ago they are very useful in all areas to my lifestyle from Mine work to ranch life , even went hiking in them ,I wear them daily these boots are comfortable and ready for work ,at the end of the day just slip them off no untying for me cause you know at the end of a hard working day no wants to untie boots .
As expected based on the sales staff description of the slip on style boot, I am very pleased with my first pair of this type of boot. These boots are very comfortable and yet very versatile for everyday use driving, walking on construction sites on all types of surfaces and ladders etc. not my last pair for certain.
I bought these boots for ranch work. I was able to put these on right when i bought them, and had them fully broken in within a week. They are durable and hold up to the muck and elements you would find on a working ranch. These boots are my everyday wear, i use the old pair as my "when its super muddy and mucky wear" and the newer ones for my daily chores. I plan on buying a third pair soon!
They are very comfortable and easy to break in. I have worn Red Wing Pecos for years and they are great durable boots but they are not the most comfortable and easy to break in. These boots are easy to break in and comfortable. Time will tell if they are as durable as the pecos.
Perfect boot I am very pleased for my feet. I can't take them off I love them so much.
2 months in, interior coming out seams leak water in. 8 hours a day and a few rain showers boots have not held up well AT ALL. Even using care products recommended and bought from redwing store with boots.
I had a pair for almost 2 years in which I wore everyday. I bought the wides(EE)(because I have a wide foot) and when they were broke in I had extra room. The lining was the first thing to go and when it went, it went. I started with a small tear in the back by the heel and within 2 weeks I couldn't pull my foot out because they were so torn. I bought another pair about a year ago but I went with the normal size (D) and haven't had the slightest issue. These are my new boots from now on.
Very comfortable and I also bought some inserts which enhanced the feel and comfort.
I have bought many boots in the oil field but a workover crew told me about these. Purchased them, with a good foor insert and Inwill only buy these from now on. Water proof and six month warranty on them. Usually can't get that anywhere. Excellent boot if you wear them all day!
I bought these 2 months ago. I know have the inner sock coming out every time i take my boots off. I have bought them before and got many months of use out of them and now the quality is diminished in these
Been wearing them about 6 or 7 months. Walk on concrete floors every day at work 12 to 13 hours a shift....insoles are starting to wear out ..can't seem to locate the originals online. Tried some Ariat ATS insoles and I am not impressed..the original Irish setter's are way better.
I bought this for work and bought the separate insole because it's better, the one it come with. love the boot, specially the camouflage since I'm a hunter.
I've bought more than one pair. Comfy to wear! Love the quality
I work in heavy construction and this has been the most comfortable and durable boot I have ever owned!!!!!
This is the second pair I own, I wear them all the time, riding my motorcycle and working. I didn’t have to convince two of my coworkers to buy a pair. I don’t like the way the leather peel around the front of the boots, and they get scuffed up pretty easily. I will buy them again.
Comfortable tough rugged boots great for indoor and outdoor
I got my first pair of work boots when I was going to start a job in the oilfield, I can’t tell you how many times the steel toes saved me. The water/oil proof exterior makes wearing them pleasant and the consoling soles make it feel like you’re walking on cloud nine.
I work on elevators for a living and spend my whole day on my feet so good boots are very important. I like the weight of the boots and the look. I wish you red wing had a smart version that were vented. over all I'm happy I wish I would have not bought the insoles they suck and are a wast of money.
These boots have been amazing. They are very comfortable and light, and even after a ton of miles walking my feet still feel great in them. My only wish is that they also came in non safety toe style for days away from work
I bought these for my new job about 2 months ago there a nice looking boot but they aren’t as comfortable as I would like them to be for a 200 and some change boot. They are also very hot temperature.
This my fourth pair all different styles but all Marshall's
Comfy boots and look good to after I had them oiled up
I've tried about every boot on the market, but Marshall is the one. I'm on my feet 9 hours or more a day walking on all terrain, up and down on equipment my current pair is a year and a half old and and still going strong. The only downside is the insole wore out fast wish I could find a replacement one for them.
Had them 2 months now still feel as comfortable as the day I broke them in
I got these boots after my last pair of red wings failed within the warranty period.. I used to really like the boots I had from red wing but these past two pairs have let me down. I work at a CAT dealer and work on heavy equipment daily. I was sized by a machine and a live person for these boots because the people at my local red wing store told me the last pair
ripped because I had the wrong size. They convinced me to go a size smaller and I did, even tho they were really tight and hurt my feet. It took longer than usual to break in since they were so small but once they did I was happy with the comfort of the boots. That didn’t last tho because not long after that the lining on these ripped on the inside around the heel. This common problem has made it nearly impossible to remove the boot after a day of work and I’m really bummed out that they just didn’t hold up.. I’m starting to lose hope because I’ve seen steel toes from Walmart outlast the past two pair of boots I’ve bought from red wing.. hopefully they can make some changes to improve the quality because I don’t want to give up on red wings just yet.
Been wearing Red Wing Irish Setter Marshall boots since 2015 and these boots in the pic have been the best bought these boots 10 months ago and I put them through the toughest test in the scorching 119 degree weather in Phoenix Az during the summer and I gotta say since I’ve been working in the pipe construction industry Red Wing Irish Setter Marshall have been the best boots that have worked for me these boots out do Ariat, Justin, Tony Lama, CAT etc.
Have had these for about 8 months now and love them well worth the money
First off I’m a blue collar union worker, I do hard work everyday from construction to welding and remodeling. I have had three pairs of these Marshall boots. I am familiar with USA made RedWing boots which I have owned in the past, these boots are very cheaply made they are china crap that have a high price tag. I have used my boot voucher for these boots, I only get one voucher a year and these boots barely hold up for a couple months. The soles on these boots are horrible they split within three months. The first pair I owned I returned them for a new pair and right after the 7 month warranty was up the new pair also messed up. This year I used my boot voucher for the darker colored ones and the sole also split on them too, I went to the RedWing store and they didn’t want to replace them this time around they told me that glueing them would be the only way to fix the issue. So right now I am at a crossroads because I prefer slip on square tow boots for the fact I don’t want to burn my laces when I’m welding and I like the square toe look, I am not sure what company to go with next. I am very disappointed with RedWings quality of their boots.
I got barely six months out of this pair of boots. The soles are junk you slip and slide at every turn. The inside of the boot comes apart preventing you from getting it off. I had to cut one boot off.
Great boot for professionals who are on their feet most of the day. They blend in well in office settings while providing protection when you have to roll your sleeves up. My pair lasted 4 years. Changed inserts out 3 times, lining started to come undone, outer soles are completely worn down. I prefer these boots over a pair of tennis shoes.
So after reading some other reviews I find that I am not alone. I too am currently on my second pair of these boots after exchanging the first pair after 3 months of wear. I bought these boots because I love the way they look and wanted a waterproof boot for the winter. First let me say they are comfortable right out of the box and they are waterproof when brand new. That being said the soles do not hold up at all. My first pair were returned because the soles cracked and split. once this happens say good bye to the waterproof. They soak up water like a sponge. Not good at all when the temp outside is single digit. I only wear these boots in the winter and the only harsh environment is the weather. Now that I am into my second pair the soles have split yet again. I have had to wear plastic bags over my socks just to keep my feet dry. The inner lining has failed along the seam as well making it a fight to get these off at the end of the day. Of course I am out of my 6 month warranty by the next winter so I guess ill just chalk it up as a loss. I was really hoping to have a quality boot that I could trust for a while but these are not it! Do not spend the money you work so hard for on boots that do not work for you.
I purchased my first set of Marshall work boots just a little over two years ago. At first they seemed great, excellent fit and very comfortable. However that's the only redeaming quality I have for these boots. My problems have been numerous even after 2 pairs and both had the same issues.
Problem #1: this is my biggest problem I have had, even after returning the first pair on warranty. The soles do not hold up at all. They have several large gashes and splits in the sole and they continue to grow in number. Some are small and superficial which are from normal wear and tear. However there are several where the material simply ripped and peeled back leaving huge gashes in the soles.
Problem #2 The leather. Again a problem with both pairs here. The leather is very thin around the steel toe and rips very easily. Even after just 4 months of light duty work the leather was splitting and revealing the steel toe. Mind you I dont work construction but my job requires steel toes for safety concerns so banging my toe is rare.
Problem #3 The waterproof lining. This may actually be partially my doing but I feel it needs to be addressed. The lining becomes loose and limp after just a couple months. Now one boots lining has become so loose it curls under my heel when I slide it on.
I was super excited about these boots but in the end with a price tag of $200 I expect something of much higher quality. Yes they are comphy, but comfort is second to performance. Sorry but I will stick with my regular weddings that I have been wearing for 4 years without any issues.
I bought these boots about one week ago. I got them at a redwing store. I normally where an 11 but the 10 fits perfect. So there sized a little big. I wore them for a while around the house laying on the couch, and I was worried maybe I should have gotten a bigger one because they seemed tight. However the next day at work on my feet, they were soo comfortable. They are like air Jordans of the boot world. They didn't need any break in time. Aside from the comfort, they look great too! I don't even care to take them off when I get home. Would definitely recommend.
So i had a problem with these boots where the steel wore through the leather within the first 4 months of buying them. Went back to the store and they were very nice and understanding and thought it was a manufacturing defect. gave me a replacment pair and sent me home. Less than 2 months with the new pair and the steel is now fully exposed on one boot. I have been at this job for many years so i know what i am doing is not changing. Not sure why they are doing it but just not happy with the product.
Got these boots for Christmas last year so have had one full year to wear them out. These have been the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. I must have tried on 20 different boots from many brands before deciding on these and boy did I make the right choice.
I have 20 acres and am constantly working the land from tractor mowing to fence repair to barn upkeep so I have put them to the test. They now look like farm boots- no way around that, but they are still so comfortable I wear them 8-10 hours a day in all kinds of weather (Colorado) and they are still in great shape. I'm hoping to get another pair this Christmas I can wear around town without the steel toes.
Great pair of boots.
These are great for my pipefitting jobs but unfortunatley after eight months, the liners have become seperated at the seams of the heels - inside the boots. This results in the liner bunching up above the heel of your foot when you try to pull them off. Instead of slipping them off at the end of the day, I have to shove my hand down the back of the boots to push the loose lining down so I can actually remove my feet. For $200, I expect the interior to outlast the exterior of the boot. Warranty only covers the first six months. Funny, because all the work I do in these boots is guaranteed for a full year.
I bought these boots at a retailer which are family owned which is a plus in my book. I wore them for a week and found a small problem and they replaced them. On top of that I’m on my feet for ten hours a day and I’ve never had a boot more comfortable. I’ve also spilled DEF on them and it just wiped off. Even though that stuff stains concrete and skin. They are high quality, durable and I see them working for almost every application.
I've had these boots for a month and put them through very harsh use, and they have been nothing but good. I work in construction and need to move around a lot, and these are very light and comfortable. The only thing is that the leather gets scratched rather easily, but that is to be expected. I love these things and am already looking for a second pair.
I work 12 hour nights and these boots are awesome they felt awesome right out of the box and with standing on concrete all night my feet don’t hurt at all they seem well made and after only having them for a week I would say they are well worth the money spent already looking at getting a second pair just because they feel so nice
Im on my second pair of these boots, they seem to last me around a year super comfortable, very durable, just wish i could make it longer than a year in a pair before what seems like the insole wears out.
I’ve had these about 9 months and the have been great they are super comfortable and the water prof is a nice plus have to have it down here in Texas. Get them you won’t be sorry mine still look great and I’m rough on them..
Very comforatable but after a few months the rubber on the back of the sole started tearing and flaps a little when walking. I love how they fit. I have never worn a steel toe boot that was more comforatable.
I've had 2 pair in the last 3 years. I wear them everyday for work and play. As comfortable as my gym shoes and extremely durable.
Bought a pair about 2 years ago had to buy insoles from redwing store to get a more comfortable fit but these boots have been great working construction in electrical field from dirt to concrete slabs these boots feel great and after 2 years they still dont leak water and my feet stay dry and warm
I've always had a problem with boots rubbing my heels raw Until, I started wearing these Irish setters. These boots feels like their broke in when you put them on. I'm rough on a set of boots, I work 60 hours a week as a plumber. These boots stay muddy, oily, and covered in glue, cleaner, and solder they hold up. After wearing these for 3 years solid there won't be another brand of boots on my feet but Irish setter.
These boots are very comfortable, however in less than a month the leather on the toes are completely gone. They remain waterproof even with the leather pealing back but idk how long that will last, it’s almost as though the steel is cutting the leather. Will not buy anymore anytime soon, way to expensive for how fast they wore out. I wish they were more durable they are so freakin comfy :(
Awesome boots, have purchased 3 pairs in 5 years. First wore only because of very excessive use, then purchased one pair for work and a pair for good wear.
Boots are not comfortable at all by the third day of use the were killing my feet and I decided to change the insoles and that did not help at all. Also within a month of use the leather at the front of the boot started to peel.
They fit well and are quite comfortable but have no airflow. This makes them VERY muggy if you plan on working in them. The style of leather also doesn't clean up well. Besides that I haven't had any durability issues.
I used to build farm fence for a living. During those 8 years I tried every boot I could think of Justin's, ariats, wolverines, timberlands, etc.. all we're about the same price as these.
I got tired of running through boots every 6 to 8 months, so I figured maybe I was just being too cheap, so I bought a pair of $350 danners that were extremely comfortable, but split at the seam also in 6 months. A co worker of mine kept telling me about Irish setters and how much he liked them... So I figured why not.
I went to my local redwing store, and found these. Ive been using this boot for 3 years now it's the only boot I've found that I can get a year of wearing them every day out of. Yes I'm on my 3rd pair, with about 1.5 years out of my current pair about to buy another.
Highly recommended if you work hard, and need your boots to not only last, but stay waterproof!
I bought one pair, and the local red wing store tried to "fix" the inside lining, after it ripped, and caught on my heel every time I'd try to take off. It worked for a while. I did like the fit and feel of boot so hoping that it was a fluke that they tore up so easily I bought another pair. Did the same thing. The store actually replaced that pair at their cost. That pair did the exact same thing.
Ive been wearing in electrical feild for two months and toe has tons of Nick's and Scratches from normal wears $250 later I have worn new boots
To start it is a extremely comfortable boot. But It has soft leather that will mark easily. I tested the water proofing by completely submerging it in water for about 30 mins I had no leaks or issues and my feet stayed dry. I think if you take care of the boots clean, brush and condition them on a regular basis they will last a long time.
Overall it is not a top end boot but it is still great quality for the price.
Lastly it does require maintenance and if you do the maintenance it will last a long time.
I've had these boots for less than a year and they did not hold up very well at all. Sole started to tear up and the inside lining ripped within 7 months. I do not recommend these for oilfield
Bought these boots. Sort of Liked the idea of the mesh lining. Then roughly 2 months into wearing them the mesh lining ripped behind the heal on both boots. Then it caused the boots to be like a Chinese finger trap when you go to take them off. The lining catches on your heal and you spend about 5 minutes getting the boots off. Liked the boots. But amazing me how this could happen in a pair of boots that are a couple months old...
I bought my first pair of these and asked the red wings gentleman if they were true to size and he said yes to get the same size that I had before, so I did, and they made my toes hurt badly. I ended up exchanging them and theyy said to only go up a half of a size because they would stretch, so I did and they still are too small after at least a month of wear. They are so small around my toes that my toes are actually starting to curve. I just spent $180 on these boots so I can't justify buying another pair, but don't want to take them back in to red wing.
I have been a lace to toe boot owner and this is my first pull on boot. These boots felt broken in from the moment I put them on and they just seem to get more and more comfortable everyday. I am on my feet in these boots on hard surfaces all day and find them to have excellent support. I can't say enough good about these boots.
Just got these boots and they almost feel like there broke in. They are as tough as they are good looking. Get these boots
I've only had these boots for a few months and already the toe is showing. I'm a plumber and it's now a hindrance to my work as the steel is showing and can scratch surfaces when I have to get on my knees. I paid more then $300 dollars with a belt included and this is the quality I get?
My son is very hard on boots! This boot has exceeded our expectations and will continue to always be a part of our home WORK footwear! Lasts for years when others last only months! GREAT BOOT! Excellent Quality!
I was skeptical about buying a slip on style boot because I've been a long time lace up wearer but these felt great as soon as I put them on. The make my feet a touch hot but that's to be expected with any waterproof boot. I normally wear a d width but had to step up to a wider 2E.
I absolutely love my boots! They take a beating everyday and has no problem! The only thing I suggest Redwing does to improve the boot is to make the support a bit taller! Maybe an inch
Like them and comfortable with work socks. Got the square toe just more over all room.
Super comfy boots. First day working in them I soon came to realize that they were not waterproof. Super let down. Also for $200 you'd think they would be american made, super glad that my local red wing boot store gave me my money back
I've had these boots two years now and just ordered a new pair. I work in land surveying, so I do a lot of walking. These boots are perfect for the environment I am in and it is also nice they are waterproof as I do a lot of work on and near water. I prefer to wear these boots over my sneakers on my days off because they are just so comfortable.
Iv never wore a pair of uncomfortable boots till I got these. The arch support is so bad I had to stop wearing them after 3 days. I tried putting sole inserts in them and it made it worse.... they hurt my feet and knees. I usually wear metatarsal boots they takes a while to break in but iv never been in pain before from boots.
I love these boots. Wore them for two years and had to get rid of them because I wore a hole in the toe. Not the boots fault. Soles were still in great shape and I averaged 6 miles a day at work. Bought an expensive pair of Ariats and threw them in the trash a few months later because they weren't as comfortable as these boots. Only wish they offered them in a composite toe so my toes wouldn't get cold in the winter. Hopefully Irish Setter gets my hint.
I purchased these after walking holes in my other boots the first week of my new job in January of 2015. They measured my foot to be a 12 but the size 11 fit beautifully. I have worn them 6 days a week every week including outside of work(hunting, hiking, and lots of hours on the tractor). The only issue is the lining tore in one of them 16 months in. It makes it hard to pull your foot out sometimes. Still comfortable though.
I use Redwing Naturseal about once a month(more if I am walking in alot of water or creeks lately) and the leather is still soft and plush. No tears or cracks to date. After 2 full years of wearing these on a factory floor (concrete, steel grate, diamond plate, and lots of ladders) they look and feel good. I replaced the insole after 19 months but hey, most people change em they day they buy em.
I figure I will buy another pair when these boots reach about 3 years and retire these ones to use only at home(Just because I like to have clean, nice looking boots on the job).
I have tried 6 brands of "Top rated" boots. NONE COMPARE TO IRISHSETTER.
THANKS FOR A GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!!!
The first few days, I thought I had made a mistake. Then, once the leather stretched a bit, they fit perfectly. Buy them snug in the store, and know that they will loosen up to fit perfectly in no time. I wear mine to work everyday. I bought the orthotic shoe inserts as well. I love these boots.
This was my first pair of Irish Work boots and i love them, i used to wear Justin boots until they would not hold up.
As soon as I tried this boot on I knew they were perfect for work and the outdoors. Fit is good for a pull on with little slip. Broke in quickly. Exceptional resistance to oil and fuel spills at work. Most comfortable work boots I have ever owned. They are very light weight for steel toe boots. Waterproofing has held up with no issues. They don't look bad either as far as styling goes. Being a resolable boot is a plus too.
Most comfortable pair of work boots I've ever owned. Steel toe, but still lightweight, waterproof is excellent. The boot still snaps onto my foot when I put them on in the morning even a year after purchase, with every day use. For somebody that is on their feet all day every, these boots are the way to go.
These were My Christmas present last year (2016). These boots seriously fit like a glove for your feet! They feel more like high-top shoes than a pair of waterproof, steel toe, electrical hazard work boos! They are simply the best pair of boots I have ever owned....period.
I don't just use them for work, but also out in the desert dirt bike riding, hiking and shooting. Now I can keep up with my kids, who used to be much faster than me!
You won't be disappointed in these Marshal work boots. I'm going to get a pair for my wife next.
Its the best out their i been in the construction field for about 10 yrs and i want to say i had wolverine and Justin , Ariat and they just dont cut it the peel of from the main sole bottom and crack easy with care . But i bought my First pair of Red wing back in 09 and i still have them .Then decide to go square toe Boots And i am sure i made the best selection True fit and comfortable . Best out their its worth the price .Also light
Excellent work boot. Most comfortable and stylish steel toe boot that I've ever worn.
Very comfortable boots, but the heel wore down faster than I thought with a boot of this quality, I am very hard on my boots so I can take that into count, but leather held up nice
Bought mine back in March. 0 issues! Love them, look good, and very comfortable.
Ive owned a lot of red wings and quality has always been superb. However these were junk, the heels blew out after only 6 months, probably because they use a cloth liner on the inside instead of leather. Very comfortable just didn't hold up like my other red wings, great looking boots, just terrible quality.
Great boot but stitches for the soul around boot does not hold we'll have had my boots for about 9 months an has 2 holes that I can put my finger in
I bought these boots about a month ago. As soon as I tried them on I knew these were it for me. Light, comfortable, didn't get blisters on my ankles like every other boots I use to buy. Will definitely buy another pair if i need to.
The most comfortable boots I've owned. I work as a heavy equipment mechanic and climbing on and off of equipment all day can be pretty rough on your feet these boots have great support and after a long day/night of work my feet don't hurt with the other brands my feet would be killing me by 12 great pair of boots!!!
I love these boots. They are able to resist a lot of water and are super durable and comfortable. I would buy these boots again in a heart beat.
Used a binch of fiffrent boots but these are the best by far.
super comfortable
First, the good-these boots are very comfortable. My feet feel great even after a day of standing on concrete.
Second, the bad-a seam busted after about six months (was repaired at no cost to me). They aren't as waterproof as I would like, if the leather gets soaked the boots get moist inside. The soles on these boots will get you hurt, it is only a matter of time. They are far too smooth with nowhere near enough tread. They are easily defeated by damp grass, snow and mud. I fear all inclined ground if moisture is present in any of its natural states. The "waterproof" liner has now become detached and will do a pretty impressive imitation of a Chinese finger trap.
To sum it all up; if you want a comfortable and stylish boot, these are for you. If you want an actual work boot, and not have to regard uneven damp ground with same respect/fear as an octogenarian...avoid these boots.
Let me start by saying these boots are comfortable, and they look great! Made very well! I have never slipped wearing these boots.
They have lasted a year, when normally i get 6 months out of a good boot.
They are a little heavy, and the sole is a bit tall.
And the leather stretchs after a few months making the boot a loose after time.
Over all. A great boot
I loved these boots. They felt great on and were comfortable for someone who is on their feet all day. But after 4 months one boot's lining ripped. It makes it almost impossible to remove. If I don't have a shoe horn or something to stick down inside the back side to hold lining. For the money I expect them to last longer.
