The Ely features:
6 months in an Engine Assembly Plant. First pair of steel toes I've bought and I love these! These are tough, quality, and comfortable boots!
I bought these a year and half ago and walk 12-15k steps daily through all weather types including a foot of snow at times. They stay dry and are still in great shape. I treat with mink oil periodically to help the leather last and for looks . Minimal wear at this point. Vary happy that I was guided to these shoes at the store. I added insoles for support and which relived chronic foot pain. I'll definitely return for my next pair.
good for soft foundations. not enough cushioning if you wear them on concrete floors . first time buying red wing product.
Got these boots 15 months ago and they haven’t leaked or broke down. The insoles are beat up had to swap them out but otherwise great boots.
The insides of the heels are already badly worn after six months of ownership and only about 3 months of actual wear. In one boot, the wear-hole goes all the way through the waterproof liner. But I'm just outside the six month warranty, so I guess I'm just out of luck. I expected better from a Red Wing brand.
I bough these shoes a couple months ago and I wore them everyday until about a week ago. I paid for the insole and I was really hopeful to have a comfortable shoe that would last me years. However, what I got was an uncomfortable shoe that made my feet hurt everyday. I would count down the seconds until I could date them off at the end of the day. Some days I would be limping by 2pm. Last week I pulled my old boots out and started wearing them again. They are built out of good materials that have held up better than other boots I’ve owned, but that is probably the only redeeming feature.
This is the most comfortable work boot that I have owned. Theses are my 3rd pair in 5 years
I’ve been wearing this boot for about a year.
I do HVAC work so I’m pretty rough on them.
Since I work around standing water from time to time, being that the boot is waterproof is a big plus.
I occasionally walk/stand on concrete and with the addition of the RedWing shoe inserts for folks with flat feet, this too is a huge improvement in comfort.
So far, no rips or seams coming undone and the sole only has moderate wear.
I would recommend that if anyone purchases this boot, to also purchase a can of mink oil.
Once a week, I will clean the boots and oil them up. This keeps the boots looking good and just a little more added protection from the elements.
I purchased the Ely style boot. Fits perfect. Looks really nice. The boots have been comfortable from the first day I put them on. A great decision to go with the Red Wing boot store. I would recommend them to any other hard working American.
Chinese boots but have been very comfortable. The leather is a bit soft and gets ripped and cut pretty easy.
Good quality boot. The only thing i did put a good insole from tractor supply $9.99 and made a big difference. I can wear them all day with no problem. Good on oil or grease and they are water proof
This is the second time I have purchased the Irish Setter Work Boot. Why? Because I am thoroughly satisfied with the Irish Setter line.
Really love this boot. I've gone three years now with it and I still have decent tread on them. Still toe has saved my toes a number of times. Took about a week or so to wear them in, but once they were worn in everything has been fantastic. I'd order another pair when I'm ready too. These boots have withstood sopping rain, snow, mud, rugged terrain, I've taken them on a two rifle hunts. Just a great boot.
Company bought us boots last Xmas(19). Feel like sneakers, very comfortable. 0 break in time, very soft leather. Good looking. Seems where toes bend blow out on ALL boots, these took 3 months to start. This is why mountaineering boots are ONE piece and stitch at the heel (they are also around 400 dollars, use extremely better leather and take a month of abuse to break in). Waterproofing wore out around 6 months (expected). I actually want to buy another pair. Anything in this price range will have same issues but won't be as comfortable.
I bought these boots a month ago and I was happy that I did.
I wear my Irish setter boots for outside grounds maintenance and upkeep including snow removal and I can say they stay so dry, warm and comfy! Thanks for the quality work boot red wing!!
These boots have been great at work and hold up very well
This is my fourth pair. The first two I used shoe polish religiously on the whole boots and the seam on both sides rotted out. I told them about it and they asked if I used THEIR oil ?? I laughed to myself and conceded , no. I bought and used theirs and guess what ?? I still have them and no rotting !! So recently I needed steel toes and they came in that style. - Comfortable from day one. LOVE them !! Plus they fitted me with inserts which we 'load balanced' on their machine. Better yet !!! I am SOOOO impressed !!! Having tried so many different boots working in construction I wonder why I never heard of Red Wing that much before ?? Under the radar ?? Word of mouth ?? I know, I sound like an advertisement. Sometimes though it actually is the honest truth.
I have always spent a lot of time on my feet at work and usually went through a pair of shoes every 3 months or so. I was always hesitant to spend a lot on shoes for that reason. I bought these boots about 3 months ago when I changed jobs, and I am kicking myself for not getting a quality pair of shoes all those years. And these are quality boots! My feet don't hurt anymore, my back feels great and these boots still look and feel brand new!
Im a landscaper and i wear out boots fast. This is the first pair of boots to last me comfortably for a year. I usually go through 3 pairs in one year. The soles can easily go another 6 months but the leather is starting to tear. Overall my favorite pair. Ive been out working in the rain with these and my feet have never gotten wet. would highly recommend this pair.
These boots are the best boots I have ever purchased for work, I work with heavy industrial chemicals and solvents and these boots stand up to them and are comfortable. They last about six to eight months which for someone else should be over a year easy.
I won't buy any other boot after owning these. I clean em when they r dirty n adjust laces accordingly to my comfort. 5yrs now n they feel as comfortable as day1.
Second pair and the first pair are still going there almost 4 years old! so I just decided to get another pair because of the good quality these boots are, only oil them once if I would have took better care of my first pair I believe I would have got another year out of them. And I work outdoors and they get wet everyday so the waterproof is the best thing about them really happy about these boots
Awesome work boots for factory work. I work twelves and my feet never hurt.
I'm an security alarm installer, I run back and forth all day, climb, crawl and operate machinery in all conditions (snow, water, heat) and I've never had come across such a comfortable, lightweight and durable boots like this one. mind you I really beat boots down to the point that my company re-inburse me every year for one pair of boots. Usually a pair of boots will last me about six months but I've been using this ones 5days a week for the past year and they are not even half worn yet, sometimes I even use them on my personal time and anything that Come across since they are so comfortable. I really recommend this boots to anyone!, I'm really happy and satisfied with them, I will keep buying me these boots from now on, wished I had found them 10 years ago
Ps. I don't recommend them for operating heavy machinery while scoobadiving .
Bought theses boots about 4 months ago and the first pair I purchased started to leak water about 3 months after purchase. I took them back to my local red wing store and they warranty replaced the boots with no questions asked. After about 2 weeks with the second pair they started to leak again in the same area but on the other foot and the stitching came out of the seam on the side. Took them back and got a pair of USA made 4215s and love them. I work on heavy machinery so a boot that doesn't leak water is a must!
