First time trying out Thorogood after many of my friends have been wearing these for years. I switched careers so trying a different boot without Metatarsal guards. I only buy American made boots and so-far they have been comfortable and sturdy. I was surprised i got a size smaller than normal but every boot is different. I wear these for work but for home I’ll probably get slip on version to get them on and off easier when walking in the house.

I am a mechanic for the government in northern Iowa. The boots provide all day comfort and have stood up well to oil, grease, water, sewage, sand, salt, and concrete. I love the look and break in was pretty easy. Overall I’m very happy with the boots.

Returns must be made in person (not returned by mail) from the original store. Other dealers want to help but thorogood will not allow them to.
I bought mine on a business trip and had minor problem (sole separated from toe of boot). Local dealer wanted to help but was not allowed to. The original dealer, while helpful and accommodating, was 2 hours away.
Once I carried the boots back thru the front door of the original dealer, I exchanged the boots for an identical pair without any trouble. No questions asked, no haggling.
They seem to run big it feels like I m wearing a extra wide boot I always wear the other ones with out the heel and there no problem
After about 2 months the inside of the boot started to rip away causing major discomfort on my heel! For the price I spent I couldn’t believe the quality after only 2 months. I use them for at least 58 hrs a week.
After wearing for a few days, they rub on the topside of my foot.
I’ve had many boots like redwings, Justin’s, Ariat, Double H and the list goes on bought my first pair of Thorogoods and never looked back, I’ll continue to buy a new pair every year, great ankle support any very comfortable and not much of a break in period.
I work construction and boots don’t last me long but I’m getting a lot more time outta these boots

Purchased these boots for a groundman position in an electric utility. The boots look great and are comfortable. The sole and steel toe are durable and mostly comfortable. The upper leg/ankle of the boot is only leather and feels flimsy in the hand but is form fitting and comfortable when wearing it. The only issue I have is that there is almost no arch support in the cushion. Otherwise it’s a great boot.

These boots are absolutely impeccable! The fit and finish straight out of the box, are so nice and I hardly even noticed that there was a break in period. I always loved Red wings, and I always have taken care of my boots, so they always last me longer than most people. However, I always thought thorogood boots were inferior to Red wings. Therefore I have never tried them. I am so glad that I went on a whim and decided to give these a try because now I own two pairs, one for work, and one for outside of work. Work. I highly recommend these boots!

They were a quick break-in, two weeks of mostly sitting at a desk with occasional shop floor walks was about all it took to break them in. They’re very comfortable as far as sturdy boots go, and they look great.

Bought a pair of boots in June 2022. Wore them a few times. The rubber sole under the toe started to separate on both boots, returned to purchaser for exchange with with no questions asked.
Thorogood customer service wasn’t very helpful. They basically told me I had to work with the store owner.

These boots seem to be generally well made and I am happy with them. My only complaint is with the sole of the boot. I have only had these boots a few months and a small chunk of the sole has ripped out (see photo). Other than that these boots have met all my expectations for a moderately priced, American made boot.

The one thing I didn’t like is that my coworker bought the exact same style as mine and his came with a blue memory foam underneath the shoe insert and mine didn’t I had to buy a separate one for the boots to be comfortable

They fit great and are super light. I have weird shaped feet so I usually need wides but not with these. For steel toe boots they’re really light weight. They fit pretty stiff in the foot at first but break in quickly. The only downside is they dont keep water out very well. They’re fine for a heavy morning dew but I wouldn’t submerge them much. I’d definitely buy these again.

I tried the boots on in the store they fit perfect, after a week at work they broke and my foot is rubbing on the steel toe. Customer service has been terrible they have no comfort guarantee, with them being my first pair of thorogood boots. I figured they would have helped me out a little but after spending $270. Very very disappointed.

I really like the fit and feel of these American made boots i use them to ride my Harley and casual wear plus standing for long periods is not a problem, i would definitely recommend these and buy again.

Hello I recently purchased a pair of your boots like I have for the past 7-10 years and this pair has separated at the sole. It is the first pair ever to do so. I have contacted the complaint I purchased through and was instructed to send them back. Like I said out of all of my boots m- this is the first pair to have anything like this happen.

Likely to best non-insulated boots I have ever worn, little to no break in time. Used to wear another high end brand for 20 years but will not be returning anytime soon. Thinking I will try an insulated pair and see how they handle the cold Michigan winter in an old powerhouse.

For the first 2-3 weeks my right foot was soar due to the boot being tight across the top of my foot. It seemed like the seam was in the wrong place causing pressure on the top of my foot. It is a lot better now. This is my first pair of Thorogood boots.

No complaints at all with these boots! Best pair I’ve ever owned. The wear-in process was short for me, roughly 2 - 8 hour days with slight discomfort intermittently. Nothing compared to other wear-in times from boots I’ve bought in the past.

These are the most comfortable boots I have ever purchased for work, I’m buying another pair without the safety toe for casual use.
The front of the sole is starting to come off which I’ve never had an issue with.

Leaked from day one from mist off of a pressure washer! the most uncomfortable boot I have owned! You would think spending almost 300$ on a pair of boots they would be comfortable but the 99$ pair of Georgias I have are about the same if not better and at least they didn’t leak. This is the most I’ve ever spent on a boot because I am looking for comfortable and functional and these are neither! To make things even worse I greased a steel mill for two days and the boots were covered in grease and they still leak from mist off of a hose ! If you’re going to charge top dollar for a boot have a top dollar product!

Once you break them in they are amazing. It’ll take some pain, to reach comfort. Nevertheless they are well worth it.
The boots are very well made and high quality . The one drawback for me personally was the length of time it took to break them in . Although once broken in they are very good . The soles seem to be wearing quicker than other brands I have purchased in the past .
I like the boots a lot , I still have to get them broke in but only down side is I wish they was water proof. Other then that I love them.
Wore the boots two months before they started to separate, returned them the Farm and Fleet and swapped them out for wedges again.

It took about 2 weeks to break them in. Now they are the most comfortable boots I’ve owned. Been working in boots for 25 years.
For $250.00 I would like the boots not to feel like they are trying to cut my toes off , I hope they loose up the more I ware them, there’s a lot of uneven sticking and hanging threads on the boots a well

They are so comfortable that I’m disappointed in my tennis shoes when I put them on, the only problem is that they are extremely hot and make my feet stay soaked all night long while I work to the point that they are white and the skin is peeling off them.

2nd pair I’ve owned I walk about 10 miles a night on concrete at my job. Before I had a lot of lower back problems and after I tried these boots I’ve not had any trouble I’ve suggested your boots to multiple people with the same result absolutely love the boots!

Great boots all around. I should have got the water proof ones and They hold mink oil pretty good. The boots break in pretty fast, they broke in within the first week. These boots are more comfortable than most you won’t regret buying these for work.
The perfect work boots. I was tired of buying new boots every six months, then came across Thorogood. The best decision I have ever made. I have been a diehard redwing guy for years. Decided to give thorogoods a try and I’m sold. They are all day comfort right out of the box, high quality, and look good as well. I abuse my boots as an operator, mechanic, and laborer at an excavating company and these have held up great so far, and didn’t even get damaged when I stepped into a bonfire after work one day….

Bought these to rotate with a pair of wedge sole redwings. Initially I was disappointed as I was expecting more comfort after hearing so much about how thorogoods are the most comfortable boot out there. They are no where even close to the realm of comfort of my wedge sole boots. But it’s Not exactly fair to compare the 2 as they are different style soles. They do however have much better traction and after wearing them for a week or 2 without rotating in the wedge soles I can used to them. Another gripe I have is that when I lace them tight all my eyelets touch in the middle or even overlap to really get them tight, always wear 9.5D and have never had this problem. They do have plenty of room for me in the steel toe.Overall I’m not 100% satisfied with them but that is partially my fault as I definitely should have gone with one of the waterproof versions and not a heritage boot as I have since tried some of those on in stores and they seem to be more comfortable. Also a bit heavy for me personally. One last thing to add is to keep an eye on the stitching between the upper and lower as my first pair split the stitching there and I had them warrantied. I see a lot of potential with the brand and will probably buy another pair of thorogoods when the time comes just a different version. Something that I think would be absolutely perfect would be a high traction wedge sole waterproof version. Use the tread and pattern off the max wear 90 but on a wedge. Also meaningful to me as a union member to have a USA union worker assembled boot. I also think thorogoods are the best looking boots on the market.
