I love the boots, had to cut out a bunch of leather in the tongue because when I would lace them up they bunched up just above my ankles, but after a few adjustments and some leather being removed they fit perfectly now!

I bought my first pair of thorogoods. They were the 8” heritage with a heel. The first day I wore them to work my feet hurt an awful lot. I’ve never had any problems with my feet ever. By the end of the day I could barely walk and if I did walk I had to limp. I figured ok maybe I need to break them therefore I continued to wear them for another month. My feet hurt every single day for the entire month and my knees even began to feel tension. I went back to the store where I purchase them to see if i could possibly exchange them but I was told Thorogood doesn’t offer any comfort warranty. Which sucks after spending near three hundred on a pair of boots i cant even use for work
Good boot the waterproof liner is a little tight so I ordered a wide.
Though the quality is exceptional and the boots are great, I did not give 5 stars because of an issue where the tongue bunches and presses into my ankles, causing uncomfortable pain while breaking them in. Over time, they ARE breaking in, the leather is softening in the problem areas, and the ankle issue IS starting to go away. I do believe the issue will be fully resolved once fully broken in as I have noticed a significant improvement. Love the boots, otherwise.

Leather quality is first class. Comfort takes a lot to break in. Need more padding in foot bed. The tongue needs comfort engineering. All in all, once they break in they should be fine.
Great boots 5 stars but down a star with tongue being too stiff and difficult to adjust to where it doesn’t hurt your ankle area or pinch your veins. Took longer to break in because of the tongue issue I believe.

Highly recommend them. I have only had for them for a couple of months but they are by far the most comfortable boots I have ever had on my feet. Almost no break in time only a little stiff around the ankles for the first week and after that they are great. I hope they hold up to the abuse of being in the mud and water for 10-12 hours a day or more. I’m a heavy equipment operator on natural gas and water main pipelines so I usually go through boots in 6 months or so. I’m hoping these last a little longer. If they hold up as good as I’ve heard they do I will be buying thorogoods from now on

Worth every penny if you are debating on buying these boots do yourself a favor and buy them I am on my feet in mud and water 10-12 hours a day in a rock quarry by far the best boots I have had to date have tried every brand and 6 months is the max life span ariat Justin redwing HH danner cat wolverines bottoms of previous boots begin to fail in 3 months these are just as solid today as the day I purchased them
I work for the railroad and these boots are great. I wear a 13 in Nikes and Sperry and the boots are true to size.

Nice looking comfortable boot. This is my second pair, probably should have sent my first pair in for a rebuild. The only thing with my new pair is the tongues on the boot are a bit stiff and fold strangely sometimes rubbing the top of my feet. @Thorogood do you have something that will soften up the tongue leather?

These are some of the most uncomfortable boots I’ve ever owned. Got the regular fit which I normally wear. They were too tight. Got the wide width and the are still tight on the sides of my feet. This is after wearing them for about a month. Don’t think I will buy thorogoods again.

Quality seems to be good. Comfortable to work in all day once broke in. The tongue will not stay centered in the boot for some reason, I have not had this problem with other brands. It doesn’t really create a problem other than triggering my OCD. The toe is taller than other boots because of the moccasin design so it is sometimes hard to get into machine switches with toe guards. But I do like the extra toe room.

Bottom sole is coming off on one boot after talking to support at Midwest boot they said send them back and could be up to 6 weeks to get them back don’t have a second pair so I can send back .so buy 600 dollars worth of thorogood work boots so you can send the other pair back ever other month to get fixed and pay shipping .also if you don’t keep the box they came in they will let you buy another one for re boxing other guys at work are saying the same thing may be good for house shoes idk

Well made boot. Very comfortable. Also very proud to wear a union made boot from my state of Wisconsin!! I wash the boot with a clean rag once a week and use saddle soap and soft brush when there is major mud cakeage. Put them on boot dryer for 24th s and then recondition with mink oil paste. I’ve had these boots for almost 3 months already and proper care of quality boots keeps them looking new! I work in outside construction so they see it all!

This is my third pair of the ‘57 series moc toes now and I love them. My employer gives us a boot allowance and I cover the overhead of these quality boots. They have held up to bring drudged through kerosene’s, Diesel, and raw crude oils. Only improvement I make to them is a good pair of waxed laces.

I bought a pair on a whim, tried them on in the store and ordered my size the next week. Most of the time, even off work, I wear them and after 15yrs of changing boots annually, I’m looking forward to wearing these out.
These boots take a beating day in and day out from me and they have lasted longer than any other boot I’ve owned in the last 4 years.
I bought these through Amazon and was very disappointed. Firstly the toe box is incredibly small. That is a minor problem compared to the BLARING issue:
The tongue will not allow you to properly wear these boots, and the pair I received had 2 different tongue leathers entirely, as if they tried to make up for the poor tooling of the tongue by using a thin cheap leather so that they could be laced, but they were both unwearable. I returned them immediately. I don’t understand how anyone could review these boots and not give them 1 star. These are a smudge on your company’s name entirely and I will not be purchasing a Thorogood anything again. Your waterproof liner and tongue size need to be entirely retooled or scrapped.
Most comfortable work boot I’ve purchased
These are the 8” Moc Toe, Steel Toe, waterproof work boots. Really like these boots, pretty easy to break in and comfortable. Only 2 issues. First is they need to redesign the tongue. Way too much material. Not a deal breaker. I’ll buy these again. Second is I wish the speed laces were of the closed loop barrel design like I had with combat boots. Again not a deal breaker. It’s m definitely a Thorogood man from now on.

Always had redwing boot throughout my career and they would wear out or come apart within a year. I wasn’t gonna write a review until I had these boots for a full year. Now I’ve had them almost a year and half now and they are still comfortable and they are still together, and still waterproof. Everything about this boot holds together really well

First pair of lace up boots so it was definitely took some time to adjust since I had only worn slip on. Took around a week to break in. Tongue on left boot seems to be a little to big or something which causes it to bunch up on the top of my foot causing a little discomfort. Other than that great boot.

Great boot
First time buyer, these boots are the most comfortable I’ve ever put on my feet. The worst part of break in was the tongue. It would not lay right and pinch. But it finally took to where I wanted it! Will definitely buy again.
So far, I quite happy with my boots. They’ve become very comfortable after breaking in. The waterproofing seems to be good thus far. I’m only a little disappointed that the sole on the toe of my right boot has separated a little. I’ve used some Shoe Goo to repair it, but have to re apply it sometimes.

Had my 1957 series for about a month now and so far no complaints, I was a hardcore Georgia Boot guy and wanted to test the water. I do HVAC and so far all is well. They run a little bigger than my regular boots but fit like a glove with no breakin time! Love this.. the winter season will be my big factor on how well these hold up. Please send a follow up in a year to get a more accurate review. Thus the 4 star review at this time.
At first wear I was skeptical because my feet hurt at the end of the day. I kept on wearing them and after the 3rd day they felt awesome!! Like putting on a old broken in pair of leather work gloves!!
We will see how they hold up over time but seeing I can get them re-soled I can see these being my boots for the next 10 years or more!!

These boots are comfortable, easy to break in and feel great to move around in and have saved my ankles plenty of times. The only downside is half the time I buy a pair the tongue can sometimes be very uncomfortable when trying to fold it under the lace holes and not always waterproof.
These boots are not American made they assembled in the U.S. with global materials. That means only 51% of the has to be manufactured and assembled in this country to carry the MADE I U.S.A. BADGE WHAT A RIP
The company I work for does contracts jobs for Railroad Companies, So I am constantly walking on ballast rock, steep inclines, mud. These boots are comfortable and keep my feet dry, I bought these after a few of my coworkers purchased them they are a great fit!!
Good so far
I got these boots about 3 months ago and love them. I climb poles daily and the fiber glass shank works great. I took these boots to Hurricane Ida, my feet stay dry and extremely comfortable.
I have been wearing these boots every day for the last few months. I do a lot of walking on the job site and I have to say that when I get home from work I am really ready to take them off!! The insoles of the boots are not what I had expected them to be on a comfort level especially for the price of the boots.

There is this weird extra material on the tongue, that would pinch into my ankle but after adjusting and wearing for while they are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. Longevity has yet to be determined.
