You can simply look at the boots and tell they are the highest of quality. I love the fact that they are waterproof. The only problem I have is not necessarily with the boots themselves. The problem is the manufacturer and their website. Online you can order these boots in a EEE, extra wide size, which is what i needed and ordered. Instead of contacting me to inform me that they didn’t actually sell these boots in the EEE size or that they were out of stock they just let me wait thinking the boots were on the way and when I would call customer service to inquire about the boots I was always told that the boots would be delivered within the next few days and then it turned into they would be delivered next week. It wasn’t until I informed them that the boots i had ordered now said they were “out of stock” on the website. Once they found this out they simply sent me the EE size instead. They first day the boots seemed ok but I had expected a little break in time so some discomfort was to be expected. Basically once I wore the boots outside I was stuck with them whether they fit or not. The left boot is a little smaller than the right boot or my left foot is a little wider. Either way the boots are quality and look great if u can get the correct size. The website isn’t very reliable and customer service is practically non existent.

After the break in period, these boots feel like tennis shoes. The waterproofing is awesome, and they are made in the USA, which is hard to find anymore.

Tired of my ariats and twisted x boots soles coming apart every 4-6 months figure I would invest a little bit more, and pretty glad I did minus the shoe laces breaking not even 2 hours into the first use but pulled out the phone ordered the fire fighters/welder laces and problem solved.

They are pretty new maybe 5 months old and I was working and had to walk though a little puddle and they had water seep into them. And they are heavy

i like the boots. they are pretty comfortable out of the box and i would think they would get even more comfortable, but i have 2 other pairs of boots i use in all the mud and other stuff i walk through everyday. only worn a few times. the only reason i’m rating a 4 and not a 5 is because i think they are really stiff brand new. it’s not a fair review since they are still basically new even after a couple months……. but i was asked for a review. i would still definitely recommend.

The materials are beautiful but I can’t get these to feel good on my feet after close to two years. There are pinch points on the sides where the upper is stitched. The sole is like a brick and hasn’t begun flexing, so it’s like walking in ski boots. I’m assuming the wedge sole is more popular and comfortable. I can’t wait to kick these off after a day on my feet.
I wear these boots 6 days a week and constantly on my feet for 12 hours a day. I am coming from a Red Wing Dynaforce 4200. Had to size down a half a size. At first, i thought they were extremely uncomfortable. But i had to remember that the Red Wings I switched from were years broken in. There was a small binding of the liner on the inner ankle area which created alot of pain. This went away in a few days when the leather was broken in. They feel much different than the Red Wings but not in a bad way. I actually prefer these boots. The only con is that some areas are glued where the leathers meet and i feel it could have been sewn together better. Extremely comfortable. Good purchase and would buy again.

Best work boot ever
I bought these because I couldn’t find my regular brand. I like buying boots made in USA. Seemed well made and are very comfortable. But not waterproof. Not even water resistant. I returned one pair after 5 weeks. New pair same thing. Walk through wet grass and my socks are soaked. I treated both pairs a few times each with obenaufs LP. Didn’t work. I liked the boots but should not be sold as waterproof. I’m sticking with Chippewa.
Very comfortable right out of the box
Just bought my third pair of Thorogoods. I decided to go with the waterproof boots this go around. I love the looks and they are very comfortable but man, the tongue is killing my ankles! I’ve adjusted and adjusted and can’t seem to figure out a good way of using without it hurting my ankles. I’m gonna keep trying in hopes that I can use them.
Run a little snug, even for the wide boot. Took a while to break in to a functional level for work, but hold up to construction pretty well. If the toe box was a bit wider, they’d be perfect
I wear steel toe work boots every day to work. The company I work for now uses LEHIGH OUTFITTERS to source our safety footwear. I ordered a pair of these in October 2021. They were very comfortable and wore okay, however, whatever adhesive was used to attach the heel failed and the heel was coming off of both boots. I ordered another pair. When they arrived i did an inspection of the boots. Out of the box i noticed 3 significant problems. 2 areas of unbonded area where the sole attaches to the upper and 1 gap between the ends of the welt. In addition to a gap that made the lower stitching visible there is a big old gap between the edge of the welt and the upper at the arch area. This gap would collect debris, water, ice, etc... I am astonished that this pair of boots even got out of the factory. QA should never accept that kind of defect. I am returning the pair of boots and will try one more time to get a good pair. I historically wear REDWING LOGGER 2218. I typically get 3 or 4 years of HARD work out of those. Thorogood doesn
Every review I read said these run true to size, and even called Thorogood and they said that if I don’t usually need a wide shoe that a D width should be fine. Bought them online, tried them on and they seemed ok. Maybe a little snug but not uncomfortable. But by the end of the day it was apparent the steel toe cap was rubbing one of my toes raw.
Can’t return them to Cavender’s because they say it’s a fit issue. Thorogood is no help—says I have to go through a retailer.
Love the look of the boots and if I had gotten an EE width I think I’d be very happy, but now I’m stuck with an uncomfortable pair of boots I can’t return because the pain point wasn’t evident just wearing them around the house to try them on.
This will likely make me go back to Red Wing. Being able to be fit for the boots and Red Wing’s 30 day fit guarantee are great. With Thorogood it’s tough luck.

One does need to plan ahead to allow for some break-in time, but once that is out of the way, these boots are amazing. Did my first snow shoveling with them and I am totally happy.

Easy to break in, comfortable, looks good. Union made was a big plus. Lots of compliments on the jobsite. One downside is the way the boots lace up. Feel like i am constantly re lacing the boots every morning, due to hooks and one set of eye lets on the top.

Bought in July 2021, Received and treated the boots with Waterproofing Oil to assist with our Union Chemical Plant walk around of 5 to 10 miles per day. Very Comfortable and supportive. Only major wear is how i walk with periodic draining my heels to wear out the heel soles angles and shoe insert are starting to so wear. Wonderful to see our union contractors also wearing this boots.

After soaking these boots in warm water and then walking around in them. The boots are formed to my feet and very comfortable to wear. I walk anywhere from 8 to 10 miles a day on a construction site and have had no pain in my feet or back. I will let you know how long they hold up
After getting a second set of boots under warranty claim, these boots feel great. The soles have great wear life so far and I love the color. Definitely get another pair when the time comes.

I bought my third Goods at the Boot Barn. They fitted the boots to me. They are the right length but they fit too tight!
I’m now on my fourth pair “cause why not”trying to get a pair that don’t leak. I love Thorogood boots, that’s why I’m not giving up on them. But, I’ve had an issue of them leaking on the top of the toe back to the tongue. Also the tongue is to thick and laces are to short. Other then them being a little stiffer “due to the liner I guess” to break in, they are a good boot. But the trick to softening the tongue and boots up is to use mink oil paste. Work it in good and leave out in the sun for a couple hours to dry. Really softens the boot up and makes it a lot easier to break in. Or if it’s winter, put in front a heater for a bit.
These boots are absolutely amazing. I am in my boots 5 - 6 days a week and I look forward to each and everyday. Quality boot that is comfortable to be in.. Recommend to anyone looking for this style..

Great boot overall. Leather on the toe at the seam is very soft and subject to cutting easily. The tongue is a bit of an issue. Bunches up uncomfortably and needs constant adjustment. Been wearing Thorogood for about eight years now and other American made brands for almost thirty years.

I am a ranger for the county parks where I live. These boots are solid, durable, waterproof, and have good traction for the variety of surfaces I work on. A lot of my work is maintenance within the parks and these boots protect my feet and provide stability through it all. I spend 10 hours a day walking 4-10 miles on un-even surfaces most days. After the break-in period of about 2-3 weeks they became very comfortable and fit perfectly. My only gripe is with the tongue. It was really annoying to hold into place and get it formed to my ankle, however once you tie it down a few times it conforms and stays put but you have to get it right the first few times. These boots are perfect for outdoor maintenance.

Brand new out-of-the-box I treat them with leather preservative I use the entire 4 ounce container in a series of three applications.
Spread over a period of about a week with a little heat sitting by the heater vent for about two days each time rotating when all the preservatives soaks and I apply again and repeat until no more leather conditioner can be absorbed by the leather.
I Wait about three or four more days and then buff off and wipe the excess off and you have boots that are babies skin soft and will instantly conform to your feet.

I work on an Offshore Supple Vessel and needed something steel toe and waterproof. These fit wonderful, and are very comfortable on my wide feet. My only complaint is with the leather on the toes, it didn’t take too long for the leather on the toe to start wearing through. The sole is holding up pretty good, and everything other than the toe is lasting pretty good.
After wearing them for a few weeks now, they have to be the best pair of footwear I’ve ever owned. Superior comfort, quality and durability

I love my Made in USA Boots... very well made. Correct size for me. Tongue takes a little work and getting used to, but I love them. I have been wearing wolverine brand without ever considering where they were made. I was hoping more manufacturing would be coming back to the USA... questionable now. I am now a Thoroughgood customer for life.

After much debate on which model, I decided to go for these. I’ve been very very impressed so far. After a slower break in process (wearing them for a few hours every day for two weeks) I’m thoroughly impressed.
The leather is nice a thick without being saddle material. The toe box has plenty of room for flexibility when bending or crouching. The heel pocket is very good-not overly snug-just right. The waterproofness hasn’t been tested fully. But, does just fine in and out of the rain and some puddles. My only complaint (if you could call it that-more of a suggestion) would be to lose the top set of eyelets in favor of another set of speed hooks. No one is going to go through the trouble of feeding laces through the rope eyelets after using the hooks below. Just doesn’t make real sense. Love the boots. The fit is great. Take your time breaking them in. Make sure to carefully fold the sides of the tongue in place when lacing during the break in - this will ensure the leather creases in the right place for your foot.

Exceptionally built boot. A little clunky but relearning to wear a moc toe. Very comfortable with minimal break in time. Been in these about a month now. They do run on the big side. Recommend trying on before purchasing. Swung me over from Red Wings. We will see how they stand up over the long run. So far ,so good. Only down side I see is how expensive these are. They are definitely proud of them. I would recommend these.

This is my first of many pairs of Thorogood boots most likely. The boots broke in under 10 days and now they put my previous pair of Timberland boots to shame. The leather is shaped to my foot nicely, are lighter and more comfortable than my TB boots. I was a bit concerned if I should choose these or Redwings but I am very happy with these boots so far. Now, I work for a Beef and Pork processing plant as an Industrial Maintenance Tech so these boots will be put through some torture. If they make it past 1 year without issue, I will be impressed. Only time will tell....
