The Yukon Extremes Insulated Parka features:
Great coat that keeps me warm even with the zipper undone. Comfortable and big, I took the faux fur lining off of the hood an no other adjustments were needed
Fantastic gear. Been out in -20 F and stayed comfortably warm with minimal under/mid layers. Definitely a great purchase!
It's warm and wind resistant which I needed when I walk about 2 miles a day.
Really comfortable. Worked great in some cold weather in the 30’s. Will work great for those winters in Alaska I am sure.
Keeps me warm in extremely cold weather.
Loving it!
I live in a very cold climate - Snowblowing the driveway , making paths for walkways etc.. I was in the element temp very cold, - ( This jacket did the job perfect)…
It is exceptionally warm and kept me dry. I was out side in cold weather for hours..
Warmest jacket I’ve ever owned
good jacket
Me and husband ordered these jackets together and we love them. My husband loves Carharrt and because of him I tried my first jacket , no regrets.
Best coat I ever bought
I am Loving it!!
Jacket is very warm. Wish i got a 2x tall than a 2x. Couldnt re-order because they were out of stock.
Im 6"3 280lb. Sleves are like a inch short when i extend my arms forward, but they are fine when i have my arms out to the sides.
The old thing i dont like about the jacket is the hood. The hood needs to sit more down on my back. It feels like its hiked up and its sometimes hard to drive with down. I have to like really push it back out of my blind spot.
The first day I got it I wore it around the house all day and turned off the heater, absolutely warm, comfortable and durable. I wore it out and it did and excellent job of keep me warm and comfortable. I’m 270, 5’10 I got the XXL, it fits rather big but I like wearing it that way. If Carhartt continues producing quality products like this, I will definitely be a lifelong customer.
I have several Carhartt items, this jacket was the most expensive item and the most disappointing. The velcro that is used on the flap to cover the zipper gets stuck to all of my clothes, which leaves the velcro tab looking like a dirty lint trap. Not to mention all of my sweaters and dresses that now have permanent marks from where the velcro stuck and wrecked them. The coat also attracts every fiber and hair possible. I tried washing the coat, using anti static spray but nothing works, I literally have to lint roll my jacket every day if I want to look presentable. The double zipper is a joke, every time I sit down, the bottom half of the zipper unzips its self. Finally, the fit of the coat works great if you NEVER want to move your arms.
It is a nice looking coat and it is warm, however it took me 3 years to talk myself into spending this much money.
Sorry that I did.
This parka has gotten a lot of attention. I tell everyone that has asked about it, how warm I am during the cold winter months. I am so happy to have made this purchase of the Yukon Extremes Insulated Parka. Almost sad to see winter end and I've never made that statement before this Parka.
I love this coat. Very warm, keeps the cold out and the warm in! I highly recommend.
We bought 7 for our workers. Do not buy. All 7 zippers broke
Love this jacket. Super warm and looks great if you are in Michigan you want this
Highly recommended!!!
Love Carhartt it's Great.
It does great keeping him warm in a area where winter is no joke.
Love it stylish and rugged
I love this jacket! Great for snowboarding. I wish it was colder to wear it more often!
Very warm and very comfortable!
GREAT JACKET, OLDER WON ABOUT 30YEARS AGO, HAS HOLES BUT ITS STILL GOOD. NICE JACKET VERY WARM
This men’s jacket is very warm in extreme cold weather. Even when it is windy I am warm. Love it.
Love it ! Anything you you guys make I love ! Devoted customer for 33 years!
Really solid build, and incredibly warm. I only have two complaints: the zipper is finicky and should probably be metal, and bigger pockets would be nice. Still a 5 star jacket.
Good warm coat
Very happy with what I use it for.
It's a lot of coat. Eliminates those other layers normally worn underneath. Did a lot of research before and after purchasing and this is quality material throughout with the same level of craftmanship as my carhartt temperate jacket and coverall. I work in municipality doing road maintenance, plowing, asphalt repair in a state with six months of freezing temps and random periods of subzero days. Not worried about working in the cold anymore. The pockets, zippers, hood, everything is well designed and located. I'm 5'8 175lbs and got the large regular. It's about 4-5 inches below my belt line. The sleeves cover my wrist just right. The shoulder seam is positioned correctly. It has a fit like it was custom made. With its durability and warmth look forward to the most challenging winters ahead.
My husband loved this and at a very good price! He is tall, thin, long arms, so this fit perfect!
Very warm blocks the wind. Roomy for arm movement
one of the warmest coats i've ever owned.
I wish the side pockets were a little higher up on the jacket snd the hood was detachable
Typical Carhartt quality. Used it on a hunt in northern Ontario with temps around -30 degrees. This parka kept me warm and comfortable. I also appreciate the discount Carhartt gives veterans. Why would I buy from anyone else?
I really love it but I have problems with the zipper. I was struggling to get it to zip up. later i have released that have extra sawing thread causing the zipper to stop and problems. I recommend better zipper and all thread to be cut and remove to avoid he same problem.
I absolutely love it
The parka is very warm and sturdy. The description on the website said it has a removable hood; however, only the fur strip is removable. It would be nice if the hood was removable. The zipper is not the standard Carhartt zipper. I have many Carhartt items and have been wearing them for decades. The zippers are great and are getting better but this one is difficult to operate. The upshot is it is very warm and I like that. If the hood was removable and the zipper was better I would have given it 5 stars.
Overall, I like it. It is warm without a lot of bulk. I wish that the whole hood could be removed like the description implies. Only the faux fur strip is removable.
The plastic zipper is ok. I hope that it holds up since Carhartt no longer is much help with broken zippers.
Carhartt should offer a matching burnt olive bib.
This parka is cut for burly men. If you have a slender body you don't want this parka. If you're a big guy with a broad torso this parka will work for you. Otherwise, forget it. I'm 5'9 medium build 160 lb. I tried the large and I tried the medium and they're both too big and they're both built for guys that are roughly as wide as they are tall, which is a good thing because that means you can lift a lot of weight and you're probably very strong. If you are
medium build or slender, Do not get this parka. Again, do not get this parka if you are medium build or slender.
Extremely warm
My son loves his jacket he works outside and said it’s very warm.
Insulates very well, great for extreme weather.
I paid for a new top of the line Yukon Extremes Insulated Parka but I received a used Parka with lint and hair all over! There were also loose stitches! Horrible first experience with Carhartt!
I just ordered this Parka last winter towards the end of the season.. I've only worn it to and from my vehicle, this isn't even my "work" coat.. I've noticed little fur or whatever material on the coat inside, but I figured it was just from my clothes... I noticed this pin sized hole the other day when I was going to attempt to wash it (it got dirty looking very fast during the snowy weather).. so I responded to the email from Carhartt website after I ordered it... They asked me for all the information (even though I literally responded from the direct email that had my order# etc etc).. now I'm being told this wasn't purchased from carhartt.com and basically they can't help me I'm guessing.. I had another coat from here for 15 years that I just retired, so I got this one in hopes of it lasting until I died pretty much plus I was going to get the bibs in the future.. if this is how they are going to treat loyal paying customers - one who purchased a $300 cost during a global pandemic - then I'll just keep my hard earned money and spend it elsewhere. All I wanted was some help on what to do and how to fix/access the pin hole respectfully, but I guess I'll just have to put some fabric glue on it to stop the "fluff" from continuing to come out
Simple Perfect. Like others have said, the hood is super large which to me is actually a benefit - I can wear a hat or pull up my hoddie under it to take up the slack. If that doesn't work simply remove it all together. I'm 6'-3" and a large is perfect, even with a heavy vest and sweatshirt under it.
This coat is somewhat expensive for what I’m used to spending, but the quality is wonderful. It’s super warm, the hood is really big which isn’t everyone’s preference but I really enjoy it. Lots of pocket space too. Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase.
Like the jacket. It is warm and waterproof. The hood seems a bit large.
the coat is exceptionally warm, but the hat when it has the fuzzy thing on it is raised it covers my eyes. Not happy with that aspect if i would have known that i would not have bought this parka and ordered a carhartt extreme without this hood over $100 cheaper
Absolutely best investment I’ve ever made
The warmest coat I have purchased in 40 years. Even though it was not the coat I wanted from 40 years ago, it seems to be capable of doing the job it was designed for. the plastic zipper however DOES, sometimes offer some unwanted resistance!
very durable and warm, my new favorite coat. lots of pockets and the insulation does a great job keeping warm. It actually looks really nice too
Good fit and flexibility and I like the color as well.
this is the warmest parka i have worn . a little heavier than i thought but makes up for it in warm and dry dept.shoveled snow once this year and no problem. great choice
Awesome coat, great fit, and very warm! Would have given it 5 stars, but already have a Velcro strip coming loose on the front flap that covers the main zipper. Otherwise, I love this coat and look forward to our 'normal' Minnesota winter weather knowing that I will be warm and comfortable regardless of the temp.
Id recommended this anyone. Great quality
It would be a fantastic but you need to carry big and tall 3XL size.
The zipper is a pain in the butt. Other than the zipper the coat is wonderful.
Lots of comments at work. So far toasty in am temps, upper 20s. Pm 35 to warm to wear, definitely not complaining. Will get colder as the months go in upstate NY….
Perfect for skiing. Nicer and more durable than jackets twice the cost.
Great, warm jacket. Lots of pockets, however, the zipper is not great.
Yikes I’m sweating !!!! This is warm!!!! Feels like it’s even bullet proof!! I’m ready for anything now!
Good stuff.
It is comfortable warm and it fits nicely I am very happy with my Purchase
Being from ND we know something about parkas. This is a good attempt, but misses some key features, and some features could be better implemented. The good, it's cut well to allow mobility, and it has enough room in your normal size to layer. The zipper is good, especially being able to zip up from the bottom for getting in/out of vehicles etc. Material seems durable, no surprise there, reflectors are a plus.

Now for the misses. The hood needs to be more adjustable, there is velcro in the back to adjust the height of the hood, but it needs to be longer down the back allowing for the hood to be pulled back further. The cuffs have the same problem, the velcro should allow for the outer cuff to cinch down further, doing so also allows the user to secure the hood from flopping around when not in use (nothing more annoying than working in the wind with a hood flopping over your head when you don't want it to). The waist cinch is 2-3" too high. The snap closure pockets are worthless with heavy gloves or mittens on you will never get them re-snapped, all pockets should be heavy duty velcro. The exterior vertical chest zipper pockets outside should be taller, there's no getting a gloved hand in them. The interior pockets should be deeper with a taller zipper. The lower side pockets should be lined thicker and on both sides not just one to better provide warmth.

Total misses: All parka's need a cinch at the bottom of the jacket, not just the waist. This keeps wind from blowing up inside the jacket, huge miss here.
Wonderful. It fits. And the quality is as good as I expected.
super warm and durable. Very well constructed. Great winter jacket.
Excellent winter coat. I m 6-0, 180# and got the Large size, which fits perfectly.
Fit, looks, quality (as far as I can tell) are all excellent. True test to come in about 2 months when the North Winds blow!
Haven't had the weather to test its warmth yet, but seems to be a well built coat. Except. The plastic zipper (instead of metal) and hook n loop flap closures (instead of snaps) cheapen the quality of a very expensive jacket. Didn't expect that for the money. Didn't expect that from Carhartt. Hoping I can expect a long life for this coat, but those two items make me fear I may have to replace it in a couple years.
I EXTREMELY do not recommend this Jacket it has plastic Zipper , it did not even last me 6 months before the zipper broke, When they say it should last you 5-10 years. I went to exchange it and they told me we do not do that in store, which they had already done for me once before with a pare of pants I had gotten from them. So that's a lie or someone is doing the job incorrectly. So they want me to jump through a bunch of hoops buy a printer send this UPS label to my new printer and print it out, then go buy a Certain type of Box to put it in. Then take or to the UPS store have it sent off. Like what on Planet Earth I always saw Carhartt as a quality, upstanding, and dependable Company to shop with; long story short I was completely Dissapointed, let down, and utterly appauled that I paid $310.00 for this what I thought was a premium quality Rugged, Dependable, and long lasting(5-10 years) product for such a high price . Save yourself some money and go to Cabelas or REI for your outfitters clothes. They have much better Customer Service and actually stand behind the product they sell. When this happened to my cabelas jacket they replaced it on the spot no questions asked. Because they know I paid a large amount of USD for a jacket that would last and had a exquisitely superb Customer service policy. Not making me have to go buy a printer and box to send it off then wait weeks for something I have already paid for and quite a bit too. With the printer and box and ink it's closer to 500$ now . Like how on God's Green Earth is that okay? I will no longer shop at this questionable retailer . I have jackets from Walmart that have lasted years and jackets from pendleton that have lasted that were so much cheaper and better quality. As well so much better Customer service than Carhartt. I wish this was not the case and they would stand behind the product they sell but no I was turned away and not when offered help with the process. I'm Shaking my head at this time. So to each there own but Honestly this jacket is like a 100$ jacket Tops, not 310$. I wish I did not have to resort to this Bad review I strongly dislike doing this because I would not want someone to do it to my business, I would never put a customer in a position that they had to leave a bad review, I would help the customer to the best of my ability, as long as they did not break it intentionally with tools or something. So do what you like people out thr reading this just know I'm being 100% Honest I'm sitting here in Medford Oregon at Northgate Shopping Center at Carhartt just sad they treat paying customers this way when they buy the most expensive product just to get Shafted. They would just replace it with another plastic zipper... then what I'm back here again in 6 months? I'll call it a loss and get my next new jacket at Pendlton or Tommy, shoot even American Eagle has better jackets for cheaper and you buy 1 get 1 half off with much much better quality for less money. Just look into it. This is to Carhartt please step up your game and describe your products accurately please..? I feel Hoodwinked and Conned . Just because it says Carhartt means Nothing apparently. Maybe if the owner sees this he will reach out to me with a solution that does not involve me buying printer and a box and wasting my gas and time because time is money and you (Carhartt) are trying to waste my time which equals my money.. I already spent ample amount of time and money buying the jacket in the first place the least the company can do is take care of the Faulty Product they let out into the world. I'm done complaining . Until I am properly Helped like they do at REI, Pendleton, and American Eagle I will not be shopping or recommending anyone to this company for clothes or any products. My family spends Thousands of dollars here every year and now the product quality and customer support quality has gone out the window . So much for caring for your customers . I will be holding Anti Carhartt petition all summer to get people to boycott this company they need to learn how to treat the customer again. I've been treated like a fool at every turn. Been nothing but kind and generous to this company. Not anymore they will not get my friends or families money after this incident ??. Have a good day and please if you have any Dignity at all Carhartt you will contact me with a solution. I am going to write Good Morning America with this Scandal getting peoples large amounts of money for Subpar Products and Promises of standing behind your product as long as you do not mind buying printers and boxes and driving to drop it off . I do not have time to do that .
Anyway my email- if you actually decide to show an ounce of Decency to replace your broken product that I was told would last me 5 to 10 years.. we shall see. Thankyou for your time.
I bought this jacket in October. I live in Western NY and had a very snowy winter. I wore this jacket outside while on my 4 wheeler and it kept me WARM!!! probably the best jacket i have EVER OWNED!
Sheesh. I know this was going to be a high quality item but this thing is next level. I purchased two for my S/O and I’s Winter camping trips and we love everything about it. They’re heavy (in a good way), stylish, and most importantly WARM.
My husband loved it. First time he used it was during a camp out during winter time. It kept him warm, and he was able to move. The exterior is sturdy. He loved the big pockets. Would highly recommend.
Runs big but very nice!
Best jacket
Awesome parka, at first it does feel big but you’ll get used to it
Nice jacket it does not have the mobility I would have expected fim.a cathart.
Great item
Worth every penny. The jacket laugh's at poor weather.
The insulation is outstanding along with the assortment of pockets inside and out. This is my second Carhartt jacket in 14 years. If you are looking for quality and durability you found the right brand and style.
Warm at least down to -22 F as tested in the most recent polar vortex to hit MN. It is surprisingly not bulky feeling, and has descent mobility. Due to the length it is a little awkward zipping up, but nothing worse than any other parka. The hood is huge so it'll definitely fit over a hard hat if needed. I really like the color too.
I just received mine in the mail. When unwrapping it, I thought it is huge - maybe they shipped me a olive green bag instead, and I thought that the color looked all wrong. Then I put it on. On a second look the color was perfect, the fit on my body was perfect, and it kept me warm just right. Very happy customer!

Tom Sisson
It is exactly the heavy-duty winter coat I've been looking for.
Excellent coat for sub-zero temps here in Fairbanks. It's keeping me warm in -20 and -30. I wear it for work outdoors and since it's heavy-duty nylon I don't worry about tearing it. I recommend it for sub-zero temps because it's too warm in weather above zero.
I live off grid in Colorado and commute 10 miles roundtrip to and from town via snowmobile. This jacket is the warmest, most durable and best fitting jacket I could have ever hoped for. I especially like the plastic zippers as they work better in the snow and cold. Well done, Carhartt.
Nice and warm with the recent cold weather we've had on the North East US Coast. Love the ample pocket space.
Its tough, warm and really breaks the wind. Its easy to move around in. The only thing I don’t really like is that the hood is not detachable and its a bitnof a pain to drive with the hood because its so bulky. That being said, its an awesome winter coat.
Very warm jacket. Would highly recommend.
Warmest coat ever!
Ok it is super warm, I can put it on and take it off super fast, i can really use the side pockets to keep my hands warm when i don't wear gloves, the only problem is the hood it is tolerable but it hit the back of my head when it is off and if i left the fur on i can't see lol oh and the pull strings for the hood just don't work or help at all the whole rest of the coat is perfect
Would recommend. Keeps my husband warm
I love the coat, the outer fabric, the colors available. I found the faux fur silly and the ultra "tackiness" of the inner pocket velcro cumbersome. But the warmth is amazing!
comfortable and warm
have just had this parka about a month. I usually layer on cold days with a fleece jacket, so size is good for additional clothing layer. Thanks to polar vortex, have had the chance to test in -5 to -10 degrees with much lower wind chills. Very pleased with warmth and protection from wind provided. Noticed after being out on a cold day, the inside of the sleeves was cold as I was taking off. don't know if this is due to sleeve insulation or my use of a fleece layer jacket. Used parka while operating snowblower after recent storm, and it shed the occasional blowback well. Overall, very happy, wish I had purchased this parka before the last 2 trys with different Carhartt jackets, although I am happy with them, but not in extreme cold.
FYI, I can not rate durability fairly in only a short time. My experience with previous products is about 2 years until "Raggety Ann" wear takes over, mostly in cuffs, sleeves, and pockets...I use them a lot for more than handwarmers.
This parka is very warm and seems to be well made. Would recommend.
Great jacket, can’t wait to use in the arctic. Highly recommended for the coldest of extremes. Thanks Carhartt.
I missed out on the Sawtooth Parka, but was lucky enough to be able to grab one of these Parkas. If you purchase one you won't be sorry!
I was undecided between the Yukon Extremes® insulated active jacket, the full swing insulated coat and the insulated parka.
I decided to take the parka and am extremely happy with the purchase. The color (burnt olive) is even better than in the pictures, the size is perfect and you can feel the quality of the materials. Highly recommended.
Amazingly warm. Only slight downside i have found so far is that the hood doesn't like to lay down when i am driving and makes it harder to check blindspots.
Heavy duty and comfortable to wear
Make no mistake about it, I love Carhart. I am passionate about Carhart. However, I had to return this coat. Way too stiff, and the neck area was like there was concrete around my chin. They need to fix that chin area at the top of the zipper it is way too stiff, way too uncomfortable.
This jacket is the warmest jacket I have ever owned. Very durable. I have been purchasing Carhartt products for about a tear now and I have enjoyed wearing them all. Jeans, shirts, socks, shoes and now a jacket. I look forward to wearing them for many years to come.
Nice and warm for ice fishing. Durable fabric good fit.
Great coat, wonderful in wid and cold weather, hard to beat!!!
Best winter coat I had ever purchased I would recommend to buy .
i love to fish in the winter this coat keeps me warm during my outings............
This is honestly the best barrier against the cold I've ever tried. I used to wear activewear brands while working but they just weren't meant for the abuse of a job site. This is. Of all the Carhartt coats I've owned over the years, this is the most remarkable.
Excellent parka not too long but sufficient length to allow for durability, and as heavy as expected.
GREAT STYLE, HEAVY DUTY, ARTIC WARMTH. THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF MY BEST WINTER COATS EVER. A MUST HAVE. I'VE BEEN BUYING AND WEARING CARHARTT COATS, SHOES
Light weight and warm. Only gripe is oversized hood, covers down past my eyes to my nose. Gets in my way of seeing. Very awkward.
Great for cold weather
Very warm jacket... exactly what I expected from Carhartt.
Excellent parka, but I do have a few suggestions for a future version 2.0:

1. The draw cord for the attached hood is a deviation from carharrt standards. It uses a thin elastic cord in lieu of a standard non-elastic thick cord. As a result the hood is uncomfortable when pulled tight (unlike the arctic extremes active jacket). Also the hood doesn’t seal against the cheeks even when pulled tight, it just pulls tight against the forehead leaving cheeks and ears cold. This is a design issue, not a reflection of improper sizing — the small size fits perfectly just like all other carharrt jackets in small.
2. The waistband draw cord is positioned way, WAY to high on the body. It tightens around the belly button!!! The draw cord should be redesigned to sit AT or BELOW the waist.
3. As stated above, the size “small” is perfect for my 5’ 10” 130 lbs frame. It fits just like the arctic extremes jacket and arctic extremes coat at the shoulders, chest, and arm length but even for a parka style this seems too long by at least 2 inches (sits 6 inches below the bottom of my butt cheeks).
4. Also there is too much room around the waist (2-3 extra inches) due to not being able to tighten the parka via the draw cord (since it’s WAY to high on the body). This makes the parka “drafty” when worn without layers underneath.

It might sound like I am unhappy with my purchase, this is not the case. I love the parka! It’s heavy, super warm, and well made. I am pointing out the flaws that prevent it from being absolutely perfect. I hope carharrt will tweak the design in the future to prevent unnecessary heat loss. Even with the design flaws, this is still the warmest outer layer I own and completely worth the $300 price since I am reasonably warm in 20 degree Fahrenheit weather with just a t-shirt under the parka!

*the fur around the hood is button snap removable (thank goodness since the fur COMPLETELY blocks the entire field of view)
Got this coat for Christmas and wow. This is hands down the best coat I've ever had. I work outside in south Michigan and the weather can be all over the place coat is extremely warm pockets everywhere and the size is perfect too. Only thing I can even say against it is the weight but if you want to be warm with one coat and be done look no further. Now the size scared me at first I'm 6'1 and 270 lbs seeing a 1xl scared me because I'm usually a 2x or 3x for coats. But tried it on and it fits perfectly. A 2xl size for this coat would be too much
Great jacket blocks wind good and keep you warm
A great parka for the coldest days of winter. This will protect one against cold winds as well as any type of precipitation. Snug and comfortable with plenty of pockets for all you need to carry. Best of all made by Carhart who makes the best outerware and has for many years.
This is the most insulated carhartt jacket available at time of purchase. Stops wind and cold in its tracks. It’s a ‘parka’, so runs a little long and stops wind/snow from blowing up in to waist line. The plastic two way zipper is great to either close up, or unzip a little for extra leg movement. The hood is permanently attached, and only the faux-fur is removable. I’m in between sizes of small and medium according to size chart and small fits a little tight while medium runs a little big. I chose medium like my other carhartt jacket and happy with a little more room vs too restricting. Because it’s a parka and rides a little long the insulated, vertical side zipper pockets are a little awkward for putting hands in while standing. Only critique is the hand pockets. If they were angled zipper vs vertical it would be more functional and a little more comfortable using those pockets. Overall very happy with this jacket!
Absolutely LOVE the new Carhartt jacket so warm couldn't ask for a better jacket for the winter.
Great quality. Seems very durable and warm. Little too long but it will work well!
This jacket is ok. Not what a Yukon Extreme titled parka should be. Should be called Michigan Extremes or something. It is very durable and does block most of the wind. Here in the true arctic (Interior Alaska where the Yukon really is) it is fairly warm, but you need to layer underneath it. I was looking for jacket that I could grab and go out into the -40 temps with wind chills being even worse. Even though layering is a great option when you are active and if you are the jacket does keep you pretty warm. So if Carhart could put a little more insulation in it they could call it Yukon Extremes. It is heavy too, feels like a weighted jacket, but it is durable and built very well in Carhart fashion so I will take the weight to have it as durable as it is. There are a few little things I wish Carhart would do to make this a bomber jacket: 1. Add just a little more insulation, 2. Add pull tabs to the zippers, can not use them when you are wearing even light weight gloves. If you are afraid of getting them caught on things take them off (and yes I could add them myself). 3. Make the hood more functionable. When you put it on it covers your face when the faux fur is on. If you adjust the hood in the back (a great feature thanks Carhart) it helps but not great. 4. Make the chin area more comfortable. The corduroy chafes after long snowmobile rides or working out in the cold and also collects ice from breathing. With just a few minor changes this could be an amazing jacket for the price. It was a good option compared to $700-800 jackets truly made for the Yukon in the winter. Carhart should have folks in extreme climates test these out :) I have been wearing Carhart's since I could probable walk, and still wearing Carhart products that I got 30 years ago so if you want something that will last (if the zippers do not break) go with this.
I was log overdue for a winter coat for the Wisconsin deep cold winters. Carhartt does not disappoint with this one! Well constructed, warm and high quality all around. The only (minor) issue I have is the hood seems excessively large when I put it on. Falls over my eyes. Other than that, fits great.
Love it, it is very worm , and can put it on very easy
Comfortable, warm and rugged this parka is a perfect compliment to any outside working wardrobe. The 500 denier Cordura fabric is super tough and keeps out the wind and rain. The 3M Thinsulate 700 fill down (no feathers) insulation is warm enough to handle the most extreme cold work conditions.

I need a little extra room for moving around and the parka never feels bulky or gets in the way. The Scotchlite reflective taping is high quality and easily seen in bad conditions.
My husband works outside a lot even when it is really cold. He got this coat and went out to feed the horses, and when he came back in, he said he actually wanted to stay out longer, just so he could see how long it would take him to get cold with this coat on!
I am 6’2 and 255lbs. I bought an XLT which was too big in the belly and still just a little short in the sleeves (usually buy XLT in carhartt knowing the body will be big, but the sleeves won’t ride up). This is the best Parka I have ever worn. It’s 390gr of insulation cuts out all cold and the cordura fabric is much tougher than you’d find on most high end parkas. I have used $600-$800 parkas from some high end manufacturers and this carhartt is warmer, tougher, and Has really good pocket layout. First time I wore this parka, it was -5F with a -25F windchill and only had a tshirt underneath. . I shoveled my driveway— this is way too warm for strenuous activity (which is a good thing in my mind) and I did start sweating. It would be perfect for ice fishing or snowmobiling sedentary activities. It Cut out all cold and wind with no problem.

There is only one reason this parka doesn’t get 5 stars and is getting returned. After shoveling, my shirt and arms were covered in insulation. Upon further inspection, the insulation was coming through the inside liner on the whole parka. My wife stuck her hand down the sleeve and came out with insulation all over it. I’m super bummed as it was otherwise perfect! Carhartt, please put a better liner in. I’d buy again in a second!
We love everything about this super warm, durable, and SMART coat!
Wish it was a little bit more slim fitting but this is the best cold weather jacket I’ve ever bought, truly impressed
warmest and best made coat I have ever owned.
This is the warmest, nice fitting and the best quality I have seen in a long time ... Nice job Carhartt, you guys are the Best
Great fit and super warm! Wonderful material, that seems very durable.
Je n'aime pas le capuchon car il n'est pas amovible de la veste et ne fait pas bien, il est trop gros
First Carhartt product and it won't be my last! I'm amazed at how durable and warm this parka is. It's built like a tank.
Great warm jacket. Fits perfectly to size. Only problem I have is with the fur collar, 2 of the snaps won’t hold.
I love it. It will last forever.
I wear a large on every jacket I have ever owned, but the large was way too big, got a medium, and fits great!
Great combo of functionality
This Coat is amazing. No cold wind was able to penetrate this baby. I can't comment on the durability as it is brand new but, love this coat.
Well made and very warm without being too heavy.
Amazing product, thank you. Really pleased with the quality of the products.
Top notch.
Best winter coat I've ever had. Extremely warm, especially when paired with the yukon bibs. I bought both after moving to Northern Michigan and couldn't be happier! Will be using for snowmobiling as well as other outdoor activities. Bottom zipper works to allow more leh movement and will be the first line of defense against zipper breakage. Zipper is heavy duty, btw. Not at ALL chincy.
Definitely a heavy coat, but since I live in the Chicago area, it’s just what I needed. Loads of pockets and long enough to cover my rear end. Love it so far.
All around perfect winter jacket. It is durable and functional! Great purchase
This coat is a essential layer in defense of the serious cold. (Which im in every winter day for a minimum of 8 hours.)
If i was to nit pick i could say its a touch heavy. I could even see triple stitching the sleeve ends so itll slow the eventual fraying.
If it wouldnt add a bunch more weight i personally could use reinforced elbows.
I didnt let these things get in the way of me being warm and id buy this parka again.
This jacket is above anything you can get from others like under armor, northface, Colombia, etc. I bought my normal size which is XXL tall and I had to return it because it was so big for layers. Even at XLT its huge but perfect. I can wear just this alone and be perfectly fine all day and night long. (I live in northern Michigan) the price is a lot compared to the above stated competition but....worth every penny. Plus the fur on the hood makes me feel boujee ha.
I don't really like the funky zipper in front it zips up at the bottom as well as the top. and its made of plastic I like the old zippers they would only zip up from the bottom to the top. and they were made out of metal. I've had many plastic zippers break. that's why it lost one of its stars.
Wonderful coat. Extremely warm and well suited for the harsh northern Minnesota / NW Ontario winters.
