This vest is a slimmer design than the boxier Carhartt vest I’ve had for over 15 years. It’s longer in the back. The pockets are less bulky. The neckline is comfortable. It’s not as thick. Will see how it holds up.<br />I have broader shoulders with a thin frame. I usually wear a medium in Carhartt jackets and vests. I ordered a small because of reviews. It was to small so I had to return and get a Medium. It works great for over sweatshirts and flannels.
The quality Jin material and workmanship is as usual with Carhartt, excellent. I’m short so it’s a little long but no worries. Exactly what I needed

The vest is a bit larger that the previous vest that I still have and the pockets are not the same. I use this vest to conceal carry and because of the inside pocket redesign I cannot. I guess I’ll need to look for an alternate carry vest.

It wasn't what i thought it was<br />which you couldn't tell by looking at the pictures online<br /> i was trying replace the one i had before <br />which was thicker and more padded which i liked<br />it served a dual purpose<br />it kept me warm and made hard seats more comfortable<br />however from an effective warmth stand point<br />it works so i can't complain <br />where as i wore my first one over my coat this one i wear under<br />though if they make the thicker ones again i'll buy that one also

I’m glad my wife looked at the reviews because normally I ware a XXL, we ordered the XL cause we read that these vest run way bigger. The XL fits me perfectly. I love my vest’s yes vest’s had to get two lol different colors of course. The inside pockets even has a smooth material that feels good to the top of my hands lol. Totally recommend this vest if you’ve been thinking about getting one.
My husband loved it although it ran bigger sized for him he couldn’t wear it and at the time of purchase you didn’t have a sz medium for several weeks after . Therefore I didn’t exchange it for smaller sz. Luckily my son could wear it and he loves it .

Love mine, definitely go a size down if you dont like the real loose feel but still enough room for a sweater underneath, im normally a 4xl tall in shirts and sweaters but for carhartt jackets and vests definitely a 3xl tall for good fit, if youre a big guy, take it from me 6 feet 350 lbs, thanks again

I have worn a 2010 version of this vest, and it has served me well for many years. It finally wore out, so I ordered a replacement. The tag on my old vest was still readable, and said the size was Large Tall, so that is what I ordered. Apparently the sizing specs have changed, as the new vest was way too big. I sent it back (and got a prompt, full refund). I will wait until I am in a store and can actually try it on before I buy.

Outstanding for fit, comfort, function and layering. It's a great design for hard use. My first vest lasted 8 years until the metal zipper finally fell apart. This is my second vest, it looks and fits just like my first one did.
The clips on the overalls aren’t very conducive to taking them off or putting them on in the dark. Also, they Carhartt quality. But they just aren’t for me.
Like everything about it except when I pulled it out of the package and on the pocket the thread had pulled apart to make a little hole

We’ve owned at least 10 of these vests. First time ordering online. They are not as thick as older ones. Not sure if it’s the thinsulate or just a vest for warmer weather. We need these as it will regularly be below zero. Still has the rugged outer material. Would like a link to get the really heavy duty/very cold weather options like our local store usually carries(the store has been backlogged. So we bought online. )

I have the other washed duck insulated rib collar vest with one inside pocket in a XTL and it fits just right, this model with two inside pockets and one upper side zipper pocket is a XTL and is to big.
I really love it, but for me the size is a bit big. I'm 5' 9", ~175 lbs. 42" chest, 34-35" waist. I bought a Medium, and it is a bit too long and a bit roomy (I like my clothes a bit on the tight side). Everyone is shaped a bit differently, and has different ideas of what the perfect fit is. I'm not athletic, but I'm not a Medium for this I guess. I ended up buying the same vest in Small that I really like and it fits like a glove (a fairly tight glove but that's what I wanted for the vest). I gave this Medium vest to a buddy that's a bit taller and larger overall. I really appreciate the quality of both vests. I have a Carhartt Detroit jacket that I bought in '98 and it still holds up like a champ. I expect the same of my vest. It's very well made and I'm sure I'll get the same amount of years out of it.
I love everything about this vest except the pockets. I carry things in my pockets (tools, keys, flashlight, snacks, whatever!). The front pockets are worthless, except for keeping your hands warm, because they are SO shallow. You are at constant risk of things falling out if you're working or moving around so you tend to keep checking to see if your stuff is still there. I'm keeping this vest because I like the look and feel, but I'm going back to my old V01-DKB style vest for every day use in the real world. What a shame they tried to save a few cents on the pockets. Pockets are for function - not looks!
I love the vest as far as style and material but fit is a loose fitting vest not a regular fit. If I would’ve known that I think I might’ve gotten a large because it is big. Maybe you would have less negative complaints about the fit and sizing if you included that in your description somewhere because a loose fit doesn’t fit the same as a regular. And if it’s there and I missed it, I apologize.
I would recommend this product to anyone who works in colder weather. it’s extremely warm and it’s very durable. this vest keeps me warm even if it’s -10 *F with wind chill.

I returned the vest to Carhartt as it was too big. I ordered a “medium” as that is the size stated on the label of my old Washed Duck Insulated Rib Collar Vest that I wanted to replace. The “Medium” that you sent was 2” longer and 2” larger in the chest than my old vest. I purchased my previous vests “in store” from Marks in Canada. Fits well. Length is perfect for my needs. Very warm. Color is as pictured. Artic lining works great.
Love the durability of the vest its just perfect. It has a bit of weight to it which I like but if that’s not your thing then look at their hoodie or other light jackets. I personally choose the vest because I like to be able to move around without feeling restricted and also still have the warmth when I need it. Carhartt provides just that with this line of vest and I would definitely recommend it.
Bought it for my boyfriend, he wanted something without Sherpa so it’s not too hot, but definitely keeps a perfect temp. I have one myself and love it. Super durable and not bulky.

Classic product, love the new added pockets. Sizing is big, as per usual for Carhartt. If you wear a M usually, a S will probably work for this vest.
Not too thick, but keeps me warm and good to layer over a hoodie. I'm 5'9" , 160 lbs. and the small fits perfect. Not too short at all, as some of the other reviews have stated.
Meets a five star rating with all of the above categories. My vest ran larger than normal, extra large. If I were to purchase again, I would size down.
There is a saying; “They don’t make them like they used to” The vest I purchased in the 90’s the canvas was much thicker then the one I just purchased. I am not impressed!! If I would have tried on the vest before buying, I would not have made this purchase.( I bought it on-line from Carhartt. Disappointed
I like it a lot but it’s a touch short in the length. It could have used another inch length in the front. I think 27 inches is a little short. I’m 6,2 210 pounds with a rather long torso. I think the large tall might be to long so I’m stuck in between the 2 sizes. It’s still a little stiff so it might stretch out and be ok after a little wearing in
I wear an XL in every brand, but a L in Carhartt so adjust your size if you don't own any Carhartt yet. I run hot so jackets don't work for me, it's a constant on and off. I pair this vest with the rain defender hoody, and I'm set. The vest fits perfect, and provides perfect warmth.

I bought this vest for my husband who works outside most of the winter and he'll also use it in cooler weather with just a sweatshirt or even a shirt. He loves it and it looks great. I bought a Large Tall because he is 6'4" but returned it for a regular Tall because he prefers the regular length. He has long legs but not a long torso. The regular fits nicely!
I own three Carharrt Jackets and now one vest in size Small and the fit of this vest is true to size in that regard. I see a lot of reviews for this vest claiming that there is too much belly room and that it’s too short (all of those reviews are of big and tall - xtra large and up), but in the regular sizes this vest does not have too much belly room and the vest is actually LONG— in a good way. For a reference I’m 5’ 10” — 130 lbs — 30 inch waist. The back of the vest is actually 1/2” longer on the back than the arctic extremes c55 coat! It’s about three inches longer on the back and 1/2” longer on the front than the arctic extremes active jacket. <br />The vest is relatively thin so it fits comfortably underneath the form fitting arctic extremes c55 coat. If you normally wear a small or medium, I recommend ordering your normal size.

Vest seemed thin compared to my memory of the last one I wore for years. Felt like the canvas outer material and then a liner sewn inside and that's it! Not thick at all for cold weather.

I am 6'2" and 265 lbs. The 2x fits perfectly. Most times I need to go to 3x on a vest but at that size, the tops of the shoulders are broader than my frame. The Carhartt vest does not. Heavy feel, very warm, perfect for driving.

This was my first Carhartt vest I've owned and I love it. Most of the time I wear this and not a jacket and it's plenty. <br /><br />Size is true to fit but I recommend you get the "tall" as I like the fit of it better.
Quality is good, fit is very off. Like with most Carhartt jackets the vest are the same. Finding the right size is kinda like dealing with someone with severe mood swings, you never know. A large really is an XL in this vest unless its the regular quilted vest then its actually a L. This particular one tho, remember whatever size you order its actually the size up from that.

I ordered the wrong size and the return process was very simple/quick. I ordered the correct size and it fit perfectly. It is very warm and roomy enough to wear a hoodie underneath, but no so roomy that it looks weird.
