Was looking to replace my Carhartt mock neck rain defender jacket. Decided to go with the Sherpa lining and was not disappointed. Keeps you warm. Even though it isn’t rain resistant it does the job of warm and mobility. Highly recommend.
This is a great jacket, and just what I was looking for. It is more snug in the midsection (I ordered a medium) than I would have expected completed to prior Carhartt items I’ve owned. I really like that the back is longer, I’m always trustees when the back of a jacket rides up when sitting or bending over. <br /><br />My only complaint are the loose threads on the wrist cuff. It did this about a week after I started wearing it. Hopefully will not get worse. <br /><br />Overall would definitely recommend

Great jacket, fits well, moves very well with way they sew the shoulders with relief. love the cuffs, and a nice hood. My one gripe about this coat that is solvable with a little know-how is the inside pockets. there is one velcro, and one zipper. They will try to rip your nipples off if you work in this coat (if your job is physical) The solution to this problem is to stitch rip those inside pockets off. They come off very clean, fluffy liner is fully intact under them. <br />pockets on the inside, made of the rough outside material, who done this? I'm a tradesman, not a secret agent. pockets go on the outside. Better yet, while I'm working I take everything out of my pockets anyway. Why carry extra weight?

Comforable and roomy, It is a Mens jacket, but if you are a female is it perfect... I am a size Medium Ladies and purchased a Mens Medium and roomy enuf where you can wear a heavy sweater and it is not tight across arms and back ...

LOVE this jacket so much! It's durable, warm, great fit, and repels rain. I am 6'1" and 140 lbs, the medium fits extremely well -- Not tight, not too big either. This jacket is literally replacing 5 other jackets in my coat closet, I'm not even kidding! <br /><br />I would agree with one of the reviews below that I wish there was a tight bottom, much like on the wrists, so that there could be no cold air getting in. Other than that, no big concerns at all. It is a stylish jacket, and I am so happy with my purchase!

Even the long XL choice jacket is a little small for me and doesn't cover me from the wind when I'm up and moving because of the design of the bottom of the jacket wind goes straight up from the bottom, especially while driving doing my job.
Love it. Really well made and comfortable. Warm. Looks good enough to wear out somewhere but it’s tough enough to work in if necessary. I like the open bottom and cuffs without the stretch fabric as on other carhartt jackets. More relaxed and chill looking. I’m 5’9” and weigh about 155 lbs. I’ve had other carhartts that were medium and they always felt too big. This time I got a small and it fits like a glove. Only wish the hood was a bit stiffer and not kinda flopping around so much. But I’m glad I purchased this one, I’ll be wearing it for years to come
I'm somewhere between a medium and a large shirt/jacket person. It depends on the brand. I ordered this jacket as a large and had to return it (no hassle at all) and order the medium, which fits perfectly. All else is as expected. Excellent quality and quick service.

I bought this jacket for a dear friend who was in need for a warm jacket. I saw this jacket in a store however they didn’t have it in his size so I ordered online. He was so happy when he put it on and loved all the pockets and how warm it was. It looks good too although he couldn’t see it because he is blind. The canvas was just right and not too stiff we’re not too flimsy.

The XLT jacket was a little on the loose side and comfortably long; just what I wanted. The exterior is the traditional heavy weight duck fabric so no skimping on traditionaly durability. A nice feature is the drawstrings on the hood that have an internal clamping button to retain individual cord tension so no tie knot is required to secure the hood. The jacket is suitable for cold S. Tx weather in the 30's with blustery winds; up North it may be considered a lighter jacket most likely. Very satisfied and happy to buy direct from Carhartt; good job to the team.
My new favorite coat! I’m about 5’10”, 250 lbs with wide shoulders and a bit of a gut.<br /> I’m usually a large in most coats, but went with XL on this one so I could layer underneath. Not too bulky, very warm. The only thing that would improve this coat would be the ability to cinch up the waist area to keep cold air out.

I absolutely love it. I have “fancy” jackets such as Arc’teryx that I’m afraid to get dirty or get a small tear in. <br /><br />As I get older, I don’t care for the “fancy” stuff. I’ve had this jacket for a while now and am in absolute love with it. <br /><br />I’m 6’1” weigh 190ish and lift weights regularly. I picked the LT and it fits perfectly. <br /><br />I’m not afraid to brush against anything in fear of getting it dirty. The material is thick and sturdy. It is now my go to jacket for everyday wear.
Very warm. Really needs to be in the 30's or colder to wear it. Does a good job of blocking the wind, I even wore in on a motorcycle ride in the mid 40's (temp) and a little wind got thru but I was surprised how well it worked going 45 mph on a quick errand. Nice jacket, good weight to it, seems very well built and I feel like it should last me a long time. Great bang for the buck.

Really warm but in no way stuffy. Great pockets. Great hood. I would say it fits true to size because it allows layers underneath, great mobility, and literally has relaxed fit in the title.
This was almost a direct replacement for a previous jacket a (J141WAL). Very slight changes in things like the inside pocket zipper direction. The new one is vertical instead of horizontal but other than that I am extremely happy!. One of the things I loved about this relaxed fit jacket is that it allows you to put on two or three or maybe more layers of clothing under the jacket while still fitting comfortably. Would definitely recommend.

A good jacket for warmth and snow also, I found it quite waterproof too. The bottom of the back of the jacket even has an extended flap that will cover your lower back areas. I found that the zipper was not large enough to grasp easily and started a little bit tough and the lining of the sleeves was not as warm as the remainder of the jacket which was really toasty. The hood was also large and quite warm, all in all I thought it was a great buy and a good jacket.

I feel like a local. New to PNW this jacket fits to the needs of this weather. I'm a shorter person so I had the sleeves shortened slightly but I felt that small investment was worth the longevity I will have with this jacket.

The warmth is great. However, the zipper could be bigger like the other Carhartt I own.
Quality is good. Warmer and heavier than expected; a little too heavy for my climate really. Size is far too relaxed. Good lord it’s incredibly larger around the chest and stomach! I’m 5’ 10” and 175lbs fairly average build; this is downright baggy, loose, floppy around the midsection. Can’t decide whether I’ll keep it or wear it a lot given the fit. Maybe I need a small? Except then shoulders and arms are wrong.
This Jacket is very warm and comfortable. Like the elastic wrist on the sleeve. The Jacket length comes right to waist, which I like cause of my phone clip and clip for my gloves, the jacket doesn’t come down over or interfere with them. Like how the back is a little longer to keep the cold out. I’m 6’ and the XXL is perfect!!

I got this to replace the same coat from 12 years ago. I'm no farmer or anything but I'm not easy on it either. It's my primary winter coat. I just wish they had the black in stock, but I went with the gray and am not disappointed. I like this one specifically for the loose fit around the waist. I'm not a fan of the coats that have the elastic band that tends to ride up. They also made the chest pocket slightly deeper so I'm able to zip it shut with my phone inside.

This is exactly the jacket I want for cooler weather: durable, warm, and practical. The hood adds immediate warmth if I need it, and the jacket is functionally windproof.
Great coat, and a nice fit. Keeps me warm. My only complaint is getting the zipper started. The heavy material blocks the undersized zipper parts. Once I get the bottom part set in the slider, the zipper works like it should. Larger components would be a great improvement. Otherwise, I’m pleased with my purchase.

Tried this on at a local carhartt retailer in a size medium. So I could order it online to get my veteran discount. I received it in the mail about 6-7 days from ordering. It does not fit like the medium I tried on at the store. It’s about an inch shorter in the front and much tighter. Pretty ticked off to say the least.

Jacket is warm and comfortable fit. Seems well made, but the interior pocket zipper has already failed....and I've only had the jacket less than a month. The front zipper also has snagged a few times requiring time consuming fixes. Now I fear it will fail, too.
Fits well is well made.<br />One complaint is that a larger artic size zipper tab should have been used.<br />Hard to zip with work gloves on.<br />This is still considered work wear right?

It is a little on the weak side the pull on my first coat broke Not the chain or the slider just the pull is weak. Still works though.Zippers ain’t what they used to be. I really love this new coat. Fits great, looks great and is very warm. The hood is essential in windy winter conditions. As a longtime Carhartt brand user, I know I’ll get years and years of use out of it.
I received one of these for Christmas. This is the first Carhartt I ever had that was sub par. The wind blows right through it. I just came in from a walk in the field with my dog. The temperature is in the low 40's. It is windy, and I could feel the wind coming through. If this is the same cotton duck material you use in all of your coats and jackets you are in trouble. I have been wearing Carhartt clothing for over forty years. I'm glad I still have some older stuff that is in good shape.

I got one for my son in black and one for the husband in gray. They fit perfect and are so warm. My husband loves the inside pockets.
Perfect jacket for those who spend a solid amount of time outside or just want a nice jacket. It doesn’t get overly cold here in Texas so it works great for those days it gets into the 20s, 30s, and 40s. I’m 5’11 around 180-185lbs with an athletic build and longer arms, and a Large fits great. It does fit a little short on the waist but I wear a ranch coat if I’m worried about draft from the wind. 10/10 would recommend.
I want to return this. The sleeves are way too short and the fit is snug.
This coat is great like all of the other Carhartt items that I have. In Oklahoma it’s windy and this coat does a good job of cutting that wind. I would like to see more insulation in the hood and most importantly is a heavier zipper for the front of the coat. The zipper hasn’t failed but is hard to get started where my other carhartt’s had heavier zippers and aligned easier. The outer insulation on the pockets is also thin but may add to much bulk if thicker. Overall a warm durable coat.

My husband is very happy with this jacket. The dimensions of the Medium coat are perfect for his build, at 5’10” and muscular. He likes that the sleeves end in gussets, and loves the overall sturdy build and weight of the coat. Sherpa lining is thick and long-lasting quality. Pockets are a good size and in the ideal location. Dark brown is just as pictured on the website. Would definitely recommend.

Loved the quality and style, but the fit was way too Relaxed. I would say it's better suited for the Big and Tall section, as this coat is wide enough for a serious gut. Why doesn't Carhartt have the same look in a slimmer version?
It is a Sherpa lined jacket that is not Sherpa lined in the sleeves! WHY? The nylon liner in the sleeves makes my arms cold every time I put it on! Come on! The jacket is very thin, I live in Minnesota, I need a WARM jacket! It needs to be thicker and have more insulation. And if it is Sherpa lined, it needs to be Completely Sherpa lined inside!

Love the fit of this jacket and the fitted sleeves at the wrist. The soft Sherpa lined hood is nice especially when windy out for extra warmth when wearing the hood up. The length of the jacket in the front is a little shorter then the back giving you a little more coverage over your bottom. Seems to be a bit warmer compared to the traditional Carhartt jackets I've had previous years. I think this jacket is worth the money and has a more of a fashion appeal vs other styles.

I appreciate clothing companies that sell tall sizes, and then when you add to it the quality that Carhartt puts into everything I love this jacket. It is incredibly warm, in fact I wore it to New York last weekend and I layered up with a sweatshirt and was almost too warm.

It’s a large tall. The length is good, but it’s a little loose. I’m 6’2 188lbs. A regular fit would be nice. The relaxed is not necessary and the loose is ridiculous. Loose fit is definitely another size larger, so if you’re fat you can buy a size smaller and feel good about it!

I really really like it, but I measured according to the size chart and it’s still huge. I kind of wanted a cute, well fitting zip-up to wear out but I absolutely swim in it. If you order it big, know can be super uncomfortable to sit down when it bends and folds up, but I still like it and will wear it for yard work instead.

Sent a different product than shown, then refused to own up to it being a different product. They redesigned this a year or two back. The old jacket, the J141, had these hefty and really nice brass looking zippers. This is what is shown on the product page in all colors except for Gravel. The one that was sent had a much poorer quality zipper and it just didn't behave like the brass zippers that are shown. I asked that if I returned it, would I be getting the old J141 zippers that are shown on the website? I sent a photo of the one that was sent to me, and this is the response from the management team, "It looks like the same zipper. It may have changed from the old J141, but it matches the pic on the site." Which it empirically does not, as you can see the differences in the zippers from my picture as well as looking at the provided image for the Gravel color compared to all other colors. What a joke - just own up to the modification, change the images, and move on. The person who I was working with in Customer Service was exceptional. They validated my concerns, and seemed to go out of their way to help me. I wish I could hire them for my business. This person is the only reason this review is getting two stars, otherwise it would just be a one star.

The material feels quite a bit thinner than my last coat that lasted 16 years. In particular the hand pockets feel like I’ll be lucky to get a year before I’m finding my keys falling thru. This is disappointing given the cost of the coat and the Carhaart reputation. The fit, even as relaxed is looser than the prior one.
Very warm and I like how the cuffs are set in the sleeves so cuffed gloves can overlap/seal to hold in body heat.

I wish I could give zero stars. I own a ton of Carhartt clothing. Carhartt quality has gone downhill, not worth the high prices anymore. 3-5 years ago they sold very high quality products that were very warm and well made. The high price was justified because their products used to last a long time, and work well. Not anymore. Now, their products are cheaper, not nearly as warm, more expensive, and very low quality. Threads coming out as soon as I took the coat out of the package. Inside of pockets made poorly.<br /><br />I have sent several emails asking them to start making one of their old coats, (Carhartt 101442 Men's Quick Duck Harbor Jacket) that they used to sell years ago. this coat was twice as warm, much higher quality, and roughly the same price. Ive purchased 3 carhartt coats this year, and all have been a huge disappointment. Carhartt used to be synonymous with quality and warmth, but now everything is cheap and not worth the high price tag.<br /><br />PLEASE BRING BACK OLD STYLES AND QUALITY
Arm lenth great for longer armed men! Enough room for a sweatshirt underneath or wears well without bukk under the jacket .

This is a heavy, warm, and tough feeling jacket. It runs large. I returned my medium for a small (that process was easy too, so thank you). Great internal pockets including a zipper on the left side and a Velcro on the right. Inside lining is soft and comfortable. Couldn’t be happier with it. It’s Carhartt, so I bet it’ll age really well.

Coat is well made and warm. It is a relaxed fit and roomy. For sizing recommendations I bought a large; 38DD, weigh 150 and wear a large shirt. <br /><br />The fleece lining is soft and cozy. Would like to try another style too.
Only thing that would make it better is if the coat was a little longer in the torso.

Fits well but leaves a little extra room to layer underneath…be advised that I’m closer to a 2XL than an XL these days. And as always it takes abuse well like all carhartt stuff. A big thumbs up from me!

I returned it. If I wasn’t trying to replace an earlier version of the jacket, it would have been less noticeable. However, the warmth and quality have definitely decreased from the past. It went from an amazing jacket to meh. I went with a comparable jacket from another company still based in the US and am very happy.

I bought this as a replacement to my old one. I have my first one for about 10 years before I had to replace it. Lots of pockets, I like the new inside pocket design. Comfortable fit, although I wish the waist band was stretchy so it kept a little tighter to my body and not so open where wind can get under. Also, I wish the sleeves were lined with whatever the pockets are lined with. The polyester they use in the sleeves aren’t comfortable on bare skin. I usually wear this with long sleeves Besides that best jacket I’ve ever owned.
Awesome Carhartt quality as usual. Fits perfect. Keeps you nice and warm. Super tough construction. Only complaint is the zipper was a little sticky the first day, but it is fine now after breaking in. This is one of the good classic Carhartts still being made!

Warm, all purpose coat. We have received many compliments on this jacket.
I’ve been using expensive synthetic hiking jackets for the past 5-6 years (North Face, Patagonia, Arc’teryx) and they all are great but seriously lack in toughness and warmth. I’ve worn holes in or just plain worn out the fabric in all of them and I’m tired of buying expensive jackets so often. They’re also significantly more expensive because they’re designed to be warn with base layers and outer shells so they’re a huge hassle. This jacket is much heavier materially, warmer, and far tougher and I’m very happy with it because it replaces so many alternative jackets in one piece. To be sure it’s NOT an active jacket unless you’re working in very cold weather. If you look at a hill in non freezing weather, you’ll start sweating.<br /><br />It also looks nice but that’s probably subjective.<br /><br />If I had to find a complaint, it’s heavy, the arm interiors have a weird feel to them (almost a slick plastic feeling but perhaps from sweating) and its cut shorter and wider than I like.

Really the perfect work wear jacket, comfortable and loose enough to add as many layers as needed underneath to stay very comfortable in the 10-20 degree range yet not so loose that it feels like its getting in your way. In fact its really incredible how many layers I can add and still not have any restriction of movement.

I had a J141 Sherpa Lined Sandstone Sierra jacket for years. I wore holes in it and when my working conditions deemed it unfit to be worn again, I went looking for another. I loved that coat. It was tough, warm, had a big heavy duty zipper and it fit great. I learned that the J141 was discontinued and was replaced by this jacket. Right out of the package, this jacket feels lighter and thinner. The Sherpa lining doesn't feel as soft. The zipper is small and difficult to work with gloves on. It seems to fit just as well, and it seems warm as expected. It's just not the same. I'm not totally dissatisfied - just disappointed. There's a reason I've bought Carhartt gear for years. I got seven hard winters out of my old jacket. This one doesn't feel like it will last that long. I wager the zipper will be the first to break - then the jacket is pretty much useless. Hope it proves me wrong.

Fantastic all around jacket. Works perfect for fall and winter. It’s pretty thick and plenty warm. I expected it to be kinda of light but it works great as just a winter jacket without even layering. It has lots of pockets for stuff. I also expected this to be hard to break in because it’s the tough duck washed cotton but this was not that case. It is a little stiff but not to the point where it’s bad. It has stress folds in the back so your arms can move freely. The color looks awesome and it fits me perfectly. The construction is solid and sturdy which is to be expected with carharrt. Would definitely recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a warm jacket. You could wear it and be fashionable but I love it for work

Large does not fit like a large purchased several years ago. Older style had a seam down the middle of the back which made it more fitting. Everything about the jacket is bigger and now I incur the cost of returning it.

Quality is not like it used to be. Compared to mine old one that’s 6 years old, the cuffs are thinner the hood seam is different and feels less rigged, the fleece on the inside is thinner, and they did away with the leather logo and now it’s a thin fabric. Overall still a good jacket but a little sad with the changes.
Absolutely love the coat like every other carhartt product I own, but the inside liner separated at the inside pocket a week after buying and has spread. Just gonna consider it an isolated incident but still disappointing. Not unusable, and I’ll say probably the first flaw Ive run into with a carhartt product so I’m gonna let it ride.

This is the second version of this same jacket for my boyfriend. He lost a lot of weight and loved his old one but it is far too large now, so he needed a replacement! Came back because Carhartt is always first-class quality from a company committed to American workers and manufacturing. He mostly wears it while working outside on our property in moderately cold fall climate in Texas. Perfect balance of warmth, ease-of-movement and durability. Looks great American product. Amazing American company. Looks like classic American workwear and he and I love it.

Heavy, canvas outer with a soft thick lining. Pockets are lightly lined, which I don’t like. They should. E heavily lined like the rest of the jacket. Very comfortable!

Utilitarian jacket. No bells or whistles. I stand 6'1, 180 lbs; A medium fit well. Room to layer under the jacket, enough room to move efficiently; not too loose, perfect. The materials and construction have held up well. A garment that only gets better with age.
I had been wanting this jacket for a few years. A friend loaned me his when I was on a job working outdoors in Pittsburgh and I didn’t want to give it back. The hood was the selling point, but the pockets are just right and the left front is perfect for the phone or a radio. It’s warm and comfortable. I now can donated a few coats, I just won’t be using them anymore.

Rugged, warm, functional, well fitting, and incidentally stylish jacket. I'm a 38R jacket, 5'10" 170, and the Small was the right fit for me, though a Medium was a doable looser/bigger fit. Great value.
I buy this coat every three years or so. I doubt this one will last more than one. It feels thinner and cheaper. They use to make the most durable and warm coat on the market. That is why I bought them. Time will tell. At least it cost less now.

Awesome jacket. High quality. Very happy with this jacket. Has pockets, and sleeve cuffs to keep the wind out. Also I like how this one has the extended length in the back. When you’re working and you have to bend, the extra length keeps the wind and cold from going up your jacket. I have tried many styles and this one is the best.

I chose to go down a size, to a Large Tall. I’m 6’2” and 215 lbs and this was the right choice. It’s warm, comfortable, moves with you, and did I mention it’s warm? I really like the durability of these jackets, and it won’t be my last, for sure.

This a a great Carhartt jacket. True to size. Well made. Should last a long time. I wished the zipper was a little beefier. When I zip up the zipper snags on cloth on the side of the zipper. Maybe if the zipper was a little heavier or a little further away from the cloth it would not snag every time I zip it up. Annoying.

This is the 3rd Sherpa jacket that I have purchased since I was in High school in 2012. I am rough on clothing, always wrenching on vehicles, sledding, dirt biking and such. I wear the jacket for pretty much 8 months out of the year and they stand up great.

Comfortable, relaxed fit. The jacket has a cozy feel to it but still looks rugged. Like the recessed storm cuffs. The end of the sleeve is reinforced inside with cordura. The jacket color is good and has a “broken in” look to it. The fleece color is good and compliments the Carhartt brown. Overall, looks better in real life than the picture. One negative is, I think the zipper is a little light duty for a tough jacket like this.

All in all I love the coat but hate the zipper!!<br />It is not the heavy duty zipper I have been accustomed to for the 30 plus years. <br />I have nerve problems in my hands and can't really look down see. Have ruptured disc in my neck and a hard time seeing any way. I have MACTEL Type 1 in my right eye. <br />In short, I am saying I have always been able to zip my Carhartt coat without looking or being able to feel much but know you have the zipper in my hand. <br />I finally got the coat for me , I thought. <br />Such a heavy duty coat with a whimpy zipper. <br />I have had the coat (2) weeks and am already having problems in the first 4". I think teeth will be coming out before to much longer. <br />Just look at the ad for this coat. Shows a guy deep in snow with high winds. <br />Is there a way to get a zipper upgrade for this coat?

I am so piss with this product I am going to be in the road for 6 weeks to have this garbage to use . Even the size tag came off all ready.it looks like a knock off! I thought I was going to have white Sherpa not green. <br /><br />The zipper is as solid as it can get. The fabric is heavy and well constructed. It will likely outlive me. It's incredibly comfortable and easy to get in and out of. <br /><br />One thing that's kind of annoying is the hood because it is such a heavy material it's a bit stiff and rubs against my ears. Eventually, I would imagine it will soften and drop down a bit as it gets broken in..

Great coat! Only thing missing is some elastic at the bottom to keep cold air from coming in when it's windy but otherwise a great cold weather medium weight coat.
i ordered the sherpa to stay away the material that you line the other ones with because i hate it,its cheap and my hands stick to it, and now what do you do but to line the pockets with that material,i haven't even wore this coat yet,thinking i'll return it
Love this jacket. Right out of the box it just seems like a your favorite comfortable jacket. Lining is great and the washed duck just makes it feel fully broken in first time you wear it.

If I were hanging out at the mall attempting to portray I have masculinity by wearing the coat... I’d be giving this 5 stars. I’m a land surveyor in the elements daily and owned the same coat prior built in the USA and not India like the new replacing I’m reviewing. The zippers are super weak and I anticipate having a new one sewed in sometime soon... complete junk compared the the heavy gauge zipper on my previous coat. The Sherpa is thin compared to the previous coats Sherpa and continually sheds each day I wear it... I would expect 20% loss of the material by spring at the current rate. The advertisement for the coat stated Sherpa lined pockets, like many of the other coats. I noticed when I received my coat directly from Carhartt that the pockets were not Sherpa lined. I contacted Carhartt about it and they needed to ship me a label, have me send back the coat for inspection and only upon their approval I would get my money back instead of a new coat. I was instructed to purchase a new coat during the wait time for them to inspect. I decided to live with my mistake of purchasing Carhartt again for actual workwear instead of what it’s turned into which is hipster wear. I’ll not make the mistake again nor will my crews that have $500 allowances for gear each year.
The j140 quilted jacket I own is much warmer than the Sherpa.

Solid winter/work jacket. Sleeves though are a bit long, i may have shorter than average arms but i don’t think so. Jacket fits me perfect at the shoulder seam, the length down to waist, and the overall torso volume, and i’m legit normal torso girth- not fat at all, not skinny either, but sleeves are just long and bunch up.
The zipper on my husband’s older one broke so I bought him a new one for our anniversary.<br /> He said this one is fleeced lined and he Loves it!!

Holds up great in the cold and wind. Sherpa lining is soft, warm, and cozy inside. Nice comfortable fit, not overly tight or baggy, and moves well.
Zipper should be stronger
This is an excellent jacket. Warm, durable, and comfortable. I went with the size recommended and it fits perfectly. My only complaint is that the main zipper seems slightly flimsy in comparison to how heavy duty the jacket is in general. <br />I would definitely recommend this coat and would buy it again.

I've been wearing Carhartt jackets for well over a decade now. This is my 3rd sherpa lined jacket like this and it's my fav. style. Unfortunately they wear out quickly and need to be replaced every 2 years give or take. My last jacket had 2 large inside pockets which I loved. My new jacket has only 1 large inside pocket on the right and the large left inside pocket (which used to be the most useful)has been replaced with a small zippered triangular pocket. So small it's practically useless, not to mention the weird angle it's at. I can't fit a wallet or a phone or anything in there. Good for keys I guess. Please.... bring back the old design or my next jacket probably won't be Carhartts.

This is a great jacket. I love the sherpa lining and the outside shell is very tough.
Only complaint I have is this jacket could have better fitting stretchy material to fit snug around the waistband as the cold air gets up easier with loose fitting drop around waist band. Definatly not a practical fit to this waistband. I expected a better practicable designed winter attire from Carhart especially for our cold winters in Saskatchewan, Canada. Would not buy again if this waistband doesn't change.

well it looks good however very dissapointed with general quality was not available in dark red as I had in the past the zipper is to small light duty for a work jacket[Not easy to hook together and when it is it fights being pulled up just like a cheap zipper] my red jacket, from the 90's the zipper was large and easy to start. My two biggest dissapointments were it was not made in America and the stretch bottom that is not on my new one lets all the warm air out when your working - and moving .Sorry guys you had it figured out lot of years ago but you lost it somehow doubt if I'll ever buy another one!

I'm 5 10" 220 pounds, athletic built. measurements are 56" chest and 34" waist. I usually wear a XL jacket. in this case I had to go with the Large. I purchased 3 different sizes online because I have a hard time finding a jacket that fits well. I purchased a Large, Large Tall
Real good on cold weather.
This fit has changed - the slimmer profile and tighter pockets are not good for farm chores. Farmers need big pockets, and in winter I need to be able to add layers in cold weather. It is now more of a fall, cool weather jacket rather than a winter cold weather farm jacket.

I bought this exact jacket style almost 10 years ago and that one finally wore out. Still same great fit and comfort. Only thing changed that I’m not a fan of is that the larger inside pocket where I put my cell phone is on the right side now. I’m right handed so the right side pocket doesn’t work so well. The smaller pocket on the lower left side is tough to reach without unzipping the jacket almost the whole way and pocket is barely big enough for my phone with case. <br /> But small issue! Main objective: warm, comfortable, looks good. I would recommend

I got a couple this year for my family for Christmas. They love everything about the jacket. It's not too heavy, not too light. You are able to wear a sweatshirt underneath and still fits good.

This jacket is awesome. Its lightweight but very warm. It looks great. The pocket layout is very functional. I really like the hidden cuffs on the sleeves and the shoulder pleats. I knocked off one star because sizing is a little inconsistent. I ordered it in Black and Carhartt Brown. The brown fit perfectly but the black was too tight and almost 2 inches shorter that the brown. I had to send the black one back and reordered it. The second one fit perfectly.

This jacket has far exceeded my expectations. I purchased it to throw on when I took the dog outside and for doing chores around the homestead, but find myself grabbing it all of the time. Much warmer than expected. My only complaint is the zipper is difficult to get started until coat is worn for a while.
I have the old version of this jacket which is now my "outdoor/work" jacket. I bought a new green one to keep nicer. This new version has a few changes--the hood draw cords now exit on the inside of the hood, not the outside, which can be a little annoying if you have the hood cinched, you can feel the end of the pull strings on the sides of your chin/neck. I'm not sure why they made this change. The pull strings exiting on the outside was perfectly functional. <br />The ends of the cuffs are now reinforced to prevent fraying, which is a really nice improvement. <br />The zipper pull on the chest pocket now has a rubber grab handle, also a nice improvement. <br />The medium size now feels a little roomier with better freedom of movement. Again, nice. <br />Overall its better except for the hood cinch pulls. Just put them back on the outside please. Nobody wants strings hanging down by their face!

I bought this jacket in January 2021 with a gift certificate from my son. The jacket is perfect for my needs, and I’ve worn it almost every day for walks and other outdoor activities. The lining is warm and cozy, and the jacket is just roomy enough for a bulky sweater or other layering. The large fits well enough— I’m about 6-foot and weigh about 180 pounds. The sleeves were on the verge of being too long. The outer fabric is a little more supple, I think, than that of my lined Carhartt vest. It’s too early to tell how durable the jacket is, but it seems well made. The color is pleasant, and the jacket looks altogether good.
My son outgrew his last one, and it went to his sister. Now he has one, just like mine in his size. It's everyone's favorite Carhartt!

I really love this jacket. It fits very well and is very warm. The only things I don’t care for are minor such as. The finish on some of the stitching seems a little cheap and the chest pocket zipper I thought should be metal. Just minor details that could be a little better for the price point this jacket is at. But overall I’m happy with it.

I.ve had my work jacket for 7 years and its got some wear but it.ll last many more years. Never had any trouble with carhartt and i.ve worn them for a long time. Great products.
Love the jacket my second one didn’t need it but liked the new color. Have the moss green one also great jackets warm comfortable and rugged. I would definitely recommend this product and all carhartt products I have their sweatshirts,shirts,watch hats and gloves.
I bought a Carhartt sherpa vest a year ago and really love it. At times I need more warmth, so I purchased a Duck Sherpa Lined Jacket in the same size (XL). I found, however, that the Duck Sherpa Lined Jacket is a bit larger in size than the XL vest. This was almost a deal breaker, but I'm sticking with it, honestly, because the cost of returning it and ordering another was too much. The quality of the jacket is just fine, and it is warm and good-looking. So, I advise being careful about ordering the same sizes with your Carthartt purchases. Overall, I really like all of my Carthartt purchases through the years.

This jacket has kept me warm on nights that I wasent doing well enough to sleep indoors. I’ve had it for quite a few years it’s been back and forth across Canada upwards of ten times one way or another on a guy who was prettty self destructive at the time not to mention has seen many job sites from the harbours of the east to the oil fields of the west in junkyards and construction projects. All the while she held up and she held up good aside from wear and tear on the arms and one hole by left pocket it’s still just as warm as day bought

Let me start off by saying that the J141 is my favorite jacket of all time, I've owned two of them and they're both beat up from being worn virtually every day in the fall/winter/spring for many years . This year I decided I would treat myself to a fresh one so I tried to order a J141 but found that it was discontinued and replaced with a new model #104392. <br /><br />The new model looks the same from the pictures so I figured it would be alright, but when the jacket arrived and I put it on I realized right away that it was quite different. The way it is cut on the lower part of the jacket that surrounds the waist is 6'' wider than my J141. This means that if you are a skinny guy like myself (5'11'' 160lbs) there is a bunch of extra space around the waist that leaves a huge gap for wind and cold to get in. My J141 fits with a bit of wiggle room for underlayers, but there is way too much space in the #104392. I would understand maybe if this was an XL but I bought a medium!<br /><br /> There are a few other differences with the new jacket that are minor and not as important to me (patch color, cuff material, etc.) but I wouldn't really mind those if the waist cut was the same as the J141. Typical Carhaart quality, nice stitching and solid fabric and zippers...everything you would expect in a Carhaart except the sizing! The waist cut is a dealbreaker for me, so I will be returning my jacket and searching for a used J141 on ebay or at a thrift store. I called Carhaart and was told that there is no plan to bring back the J141 unfortunately. <br /><br />It seems like Carhaart has changed the sizing to accommodate a larger belly - Understandable given the demographic of their American customers, but frustrating to an athletic guy such as myself. Just wanted to post this for anyone out there who might be in the same shoes - don't get rid of your old jacket until you try on the new one cause the fit has changed! <br /><br />If you find that you relate to this please leave a review because if enough of us say something then maybe they will bring back the J141 or change the cut or offer a "thin" version or something accommodating! Hell, they offer a "big and tall" version, why not a "slender" one....maybe I'll go check out the women's jackets :P might honestly be worth a shot!

My boyfriend has been wearing Carhartt jackets for the past 10 years and they've always been good quality and fit well, until now. What happened?, this new design looks and feels cheaper (but the jacket doesn't cost any less, of course)! But the worse part is they changed their sizing. After ordering his normal size, returning it, then ordering the smaller size; it is still WAY TOO BIG! This jacket is abnormally wide, I want to believe they just made a bad batch, because this sizing is ridiculous. Honestly, we are going to have to find an alternative to Carhartt since they are no longer what they used to be. Very disappointed!

I really, really like it. It is much heave river and warmer than a Carhartt synthetic foam hoodie I have. And a suspect it will be a lot more resistant to brush fire sparks. The zipper works OK but I wish it was a larger guage so it was easier to “start”.

I’d still have some room for a hoody, but the length is borderline short, but works well for me because it’s easy access to front pockets. A L would have worked too if I wanted a looser fit. Warm and cozy. This is heavy duck. I just waxed it and made it even better. Buy it now. It’s awesome.

I bought the jacket for my son as a Christmas present. Shipping was prompt. I mistakenly ordered the wrong color so had to return it to get the color I really wanted. Return service was for efficient. The jacket is very well made including fabric and the many details incorporated in the design. The moss green is a perfect subdued shade of green. I would have given the jacket 5 stars except for the fact that the outer fabric is very stiff, and washing it didn't help, and the sleeves are too long. Definitely a quality jacket and just right for very cold weather.

This jacket is so nicely made! I bought it for my 62yr old brother. Unfortunately, he is a little hunched over so the jacket flares out in the back. My wife bought me this coat for Christmas and I love it. I like it so much that I'm not returning it even if the fit isn't perfect. I'm 6' tall and about 185 lbs. All the coats I've owned in my life are XL. So when my wife purchased the coat she went with XL. Definitely bigger than expect. I have broad shoulders and a little longer torso. The sleeves are so long they cover my hands just standing normal. The torso feels like it is cut for a pot belly. Please keep this in mind. Relax fit to Carhartt is generous. This isn't an issue for me. I can get the sleeve length fixed and the extra room in the coat lets me layer. I usually run warm so all my coats I layer. I can peel down when moving or layer up when sitting.<br />The materials/construction are superior. Truly the definition of you get what you pay for. The outer shell is very rugged. Out of the box you will need to put time into the coat. A little stiff but that means it should last a while. The lining is about right. I prefer sherpa linings, in my opinion they hold more air, more air = more insulation. Because the outer shell is rugged so is the hood. Until you break it in, it can touch the back of your head when not up.<br />I'm at a horse farm 5 days a week. I go from walking around leading horse, setting up rings, to sitting for an hour watching lessons. The temps range from 25-40 and I haven't been cold since my wife gave me this coat.<br />My review is to be transparent with my personal experience. Each company cuts differently. Just like shoes. I buy different sizes based on the company. I've never owned a Carhartt before so the size selection is on us. Small drawback to buying online.<br />5 stars because the material/construction. Warmth for the Mid-Atlantic region. Simple/clean styling. I would definitely buy this again but in a large. I would probably run to a store that sells Carhartt locally just to verify the fit on similar styles and then order.

Great jacket overall. Semi broken in with a warm liner and plenty of pockets to throw things into securely. Only real complaint is how much of a magnet it is for dog hair. The price point is fair considering what you get in a very solid jacket that can take a beating with the rugged nature of my daily activities, which include working outdoors on film sets handling heavy and sharp camera support and equipment, as well as tending to cattle and a farm whilst at home.

I love Carhartt Henley long sleeve and t shirts but the reviews all said this jacket wasn’t bulky and was more of a true to size fit unlike the other shirts where I order a size smaller. Jacket was way to bulky and didn’t fit. I won’t buy a jacket from here but love everything else.

It appears what you get from Carhartt varies significantly depending on where the item is manufactured. I purchased this jacket a few months back and loved it so much I decided to purchase a second one the same size in a different color. The 1st jacket (made in Mexico) fit perfectly. The 2nd (made in India) feels like it is an entire size smaller. It is about 2" shorter in length. I would expect from Carhartt that if you order the same item in the same size it should fit the same, or at least very close. <br /><br />I just wanted to purchase the same jacket that I loved, but was terribly disappointed when the new one showed up.
This is going to be my first winter in SC, up from Fl. And while I could have hoped it was slightly looser to fit over layers, it’s definitely warm in the warehouse and comfortable to move around in.

These are great jackets, but would someone tell the designers that these are men's jackets, and men who work in extreme (or not even extreme) weather conditions have dry skin on their hands. These polyester pocket liners drive me crazy. They stick to your hands every time you put your hands in your pockets. I find myself checking the pockets out before I'll buy a jacket. Am I the only one who hates this? I love Carhartt quality but struggle with this.
Awesome Jacket! Looks great, I normally wear either a medium or large and found that the medium fits perfect. So far I’ve warn it in about 40 degree weather with a t-shirt under and couldn’t even feel the cold. I could see wearing this with a long sleeve and being fine in 20-30 degree weather. Overall I would definitely recommend!

Let me start by saying I order a bunch of stuff online and I NEVER leave reviews. I’m a simple guy, not picky at all. I usually like the stuff I get just fine. But this jacket fits me better than any jacket I ever bought in my entire life. I’m a tall guy who’s torso is longer than my legs. Super long gorilla arms. This is the first jacket that keeps my mid section covered at all times. It actually goes down to the ends of my arms and STAYS THERE WHEN I LIFT THEM OUT WIDE. I have huge hands and have to wear 3x mechanix gloves. The pockets on this jacket are so roomy I can get my hands in there with gloves and still have room. I have never been so tickled with a jacket in all my life. Thank you so much Carhart.
I work in construction and am outside in the elements for a good portion of my day. During the winter this jacket has been as important as the tools I use. It is comfortable, warm, and most importantly non-restricting.

I do not say this lightly, when I say that I have put this jacket through the ringer. I purchased this jacket about 8 years ago and it is still going strong! <br />I have put this jacket to the test on my families cattle ranch. I have worked cattle, moved cattle, and roped a few heads of cattle with this jacket on. That being said, of course there is a little wear. The duck canvas where the cuffs are, have a few threads hanging down. I recently trimmed them, and honestly, you cannot tell that the coat has any "damage." <br /><br />If I were to say something bad about this coat, I would say that it is not a warm as you would think. That is of course until you actually work in the coat. Once you start working, you will find it hard to leave on. It also is not good with the wind... So if it is a cold windy day, I suggest some jumping jacks. <br /><br />Love this coat!!

Great winter coat! Especially in the morning. This jacket gives you the ability to move around with out exposing your back when bending over. The fit is to size you don’t need to order a size up or down. For a coat that will last you forever it’s worth every penny. My last Carhartt is still in my closet from 1987!

I am a 6ft 150lb woman. I ordered a large tall. It is roomy enough to layer multiple sweatshirts and an insulated flannel which is what I wanted. I live in northern Mn. I also like how much it breaks the wind.

Typical quality Carhartt jacket, only it's not nearly as warm as I thought. Then again, Carhartt is work wear, where you are more active than I have been in this jacket. Order a size up if you plan on cold weather (sub-freezing) and layer up.

This is my first carhartt purchase and I will say it did not disappoint. I was extremely happy with how it fit and looked on me. I love the soft yet durable quality of this jacket. It’s doesn’t scream flashy like the Bartlett jacket but still stylish without too much attention which I prefer. The Sherpa lining is very nice on the body and I like that it was omitted on the sleeves for easy removal. I do wish there was Sherpa lining inside the outer pockets but not a deal breaker since there is a soft lining instead. When you hold the jacket it feels heavy, but when you wear it, it doesn’t feel heavy at all. I can swing my arms freely from left to right, however, lifting your arms up will allow bottom jacket slightly exposed. I ordered two sizes because I wasn’t sure which size would fit me best between Small and Medium. I am 5’8” and skinny 130lbs with a 30” waist and I’m every happy with the size medium. I was concern this jacket would look too big / puffy on me but that was not the case at all. It fits true to size and gives me enough room for layering if I ever need it. The size small is more form fitting but it is short in length so your shirt will peak out below and there’s no room for layering. I recommend going with your true size. I live in Minnesota where temps below 0 degrees fahrenheit is normal but haven’t been able to test it in that kind of weather yet. But my first impression is I will most likely need to layer up to keep warm. You will also need to invest in a neck warmer if it’s super cold since the zipper doesn’t go past the neck leaving room for cold air to enter. Overall this is an awesome jacket and I absolutely love it. It will be my go to jacket and I plan to layer up with neck warmer if necessary.

That's pretty much the all I can say here. This is a great coat. Probably my favorite. I have the duck quilted as well and this one beat it as far as style. Its very warm as well and I love the fit as it gives extra arm movement with it's design.
This is a well-made jacket. I can layer a sweater or a fleece underneath it--which I was concerned about. I hope it keeps its fit/sizing after being washed. I suggest in future versions, add another inch or two to the rear draft flap, since it is "jacket" cut rather than a winter coat length. Pockets are in the right places. The hood is excellent, lined, too. My only struggle with the new coat is aligning the zipper tab with the zipper itself. It has to be tilted to do this.<br />Thanks Carhartt for a fine product.

I finally found the right size after trying a few different styles. Carhartt jackets tend to be boxy, but I finally settled on this one. I'm 6'2", 190 lbs and went with size Large Tall. The Medium Regular fits a little better in the chest but was way too short. Overall I'm very happy with this jacket. Super warm!

This jacket was a little heavier than I had anticipated. I was shopping for a medium weight (though the description does say heavyweight). I was unfamiliar with the terms Sherpa and Duck Jacket so I didn't know what to expect material-wise. The jacket is a canvas type of material and pretty heavy with multiple layers and insulation. Sherpa-lining is the pilly faux fur material. I ordered an XL b/c I like an over-sized jacket but it's probably more what I would consider to be Large. I considered returning it because I already have a nice heavyweight coat; but it is just a good looking jacket so I decided to keep it. The hood is a perfect shape and fit. Front pockets are a good size the inside breast pocket is a little small but does just fit a cell phone.
I love the items I have. I will definitely tell others about it.

They are constructed from some kind of thin light weight material that feels great on the hands. Doesn't seem to me like a good place to put any kind of tools however. Seems to me that if you put a screwdriver, Nail set, Pliers or whatever in these pockets you will have a hole in no time. Nice big place for other stuff though. Your hands, Work gloves, Hat, Neck warmer, Water bottle, Phone...... All of the above at the same time. NICE BIG POCKETS. But maybe not so good for tools. Zippers or snaps would have been a nice touch for these pockets. Snow falls straight into these large open pockets.<br /> The inside pockets are unnecessarily small imo. Big enough for a phone but that's about it. Size matters when it comes to pockets. It would have been nice if the inside pockets were big enough to stash larger items. Like a knitted winter hat or a ball cap. It's nice to be able to change out or stash your hat throughout the day.<br /> I have other work jackets that have large enough inside pockets to stash a hat or two. It's a great feature to have. One of those jackets is my 20 year old Carhartt. Over 15 years on construction sites. Still going strong by the way. ( Zipper pull tab fell off and has been replaced with a key ring ) It's sun faded, Stained and very used looking. It's still perfect for Certain occasions.<br /> No size adjustability in the waist of this jacket. That's unfortunate. <br /> Okay. That's about all of the complaining I'm going to do. Just a little fyi that's all. Take it for what it's worth. Overall this is a very nice jacket. I'm glad I got it.<br /> People say good things about Carhartt for good reason.<br /> Carhartt sets the standard. When you buy Carhartt you can rest assured that you have made a smart choice.

I've had this jacket for about a year now. I have an XL which is what I usually wear so the fit is perfect. I can comfortable wear a layer or two underneath. I wore this jacket outside last winter in the freezing cold and didn't really need an extra layer under it to stay warm. The durability is obviously great because it's Carhartt.. duh. Wouldn't change one thing about it.

I bought this Jacket for my 16 year old who is in mechanics and is 6 foot 3, we bought a 3x, Fits perfect and he loves it!
So let me start by saying I have the hardest time in long sleeve stuff fitting right. I went to tailored shirts and jackets for my suit. That said this jacket is possibly the best fitting jacket I have ever had. I'm 6"2/250 lbs with most of it in chest thickness and back from lifting weights and work.<br /><br />Sleeves go all the way down to my wrist and don't ride up when I extend. Not tight in the back and it flexes with me, doesn't ride up in the back when I bend over and best of all it's not a circus tent in the middle. I have a 38" waist and I could see if I had more of a gut it would be a bit tighter.<br /><br />Seems durable, well made, super warm and comfy. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

I've always wanted one! I did not work in the Construction Trades, but waited on many as a Pharmacist. Always had great respect for them over the years. Once I retired and decided to move back to my home state of Colorado, the choice of a jacket was a cinch. It fit's well, constructed well, and so far this fall has kept me way to warm....but I am sure it will be used many times this winter and future ones.

One of the reasons I started buying Carharrt jackets was for the zippers. My sons kept breaking the zippers on their winter jackets! I decided it was worth it to spend more to get a more durable jacket, especially, if my older son could hand it down to my younger son when he grew out of it.

Great work coat. Got a tall for the back length,could have got a regular length, sleeves a little too long but I'm keeping it. Smooth zipper, inner knit cuff stops drafts. Have one like it without hood, it's my go to but getting ratty after many years of hard work. Good in rain and snow, maybe add a sweatshirt for real cold. Get one you won't be disappointed.
Gift for my husband. He is 5'10 200lbs and the regular XL was a good fit.

I went with this jacket in particular because I saw a lot of people say it runs small/tight. Which sounded great for me because I'm 5'6" 115lbs. Unfortunately for me it still runs a little large but if I wear a thick sweater it fills out nicely which is why I will keep it. Although I wish it fit more like the model in the picture who modeled the army green one (who looked similarly built to me) who was able to fill it out with just a t-shirt. Besides the fitting it's a great quality jacket and I love everything else about it especially the scrunchy wrists and the nylon lined sleves

Honestly, I buy this same jacket every year for my winter jacket for work. This year I feel that the jacket is lighter in weight and the materials feel different then they have in the past. I still like the “new” version of it and it is still very warm, but I wish I was left unchanged. I liked having the heavy, thick version better.

Moves with you easily, no binding up around the shoulders like some jackets do. Really warm. Much warmer than I expected for how light it is. And it really just looks good.

The jacket quality is what I expected it to be and it is as high of quality and I anticipated coming from Carhartt. It is my jacket that I "beat up" and is dedicated to days when I know they will be a bit more dirty. It stands up to the job when I need it the most.

Its a perfect size nd fit ..i was glad to see that the jacket comes down further than the waist.I bought this for my son who is in maintenance outdoors nd was glad that the hood was attached but Not detachable there are pros and cons about having either kind of hood .This one can not be lost. .room to fit a hooded sweatjacket too..

Changed from last year. Fit and workmanship went downhill.
I have a 13 year old traditional arctic lined Carhartt jacket that has served me well ( and still does). However, this jacket fits much better, doesn’t require 2 years of hard labor to break in, and seems just as warm without the bulk. The swing in the arms/armpits was the most notable improvement from the old jacket if you work in it. I am 5’9” 180 lbs broad shoulders and chest and the large fits perfect.
Fits perfectly. I haven’t work it yet because it’s not cold enough in Chicago but when I tried it on I went through all the motions I would do while I’m at work and I love it

This jacket fit perfectly. I’m tall so sleeve length is important. I bought the large tall and it couldn’t fit better. This jacket is heavy too which is nice.
It keeps me warm when roofing and has good range of movement. Definitely looks good for the price.
This is a very nice jacket. The materials are what is expected from Carhartt, being excellent. It is very warm, the sherpa- lining is is very comfortable. This has a more fitted feel, so I would recommend going up a size if you wear a Carhartt hoodie underneath.

Good quality jacket that’s very warm and a great color. Would have like for the body to be a smidge longer and Carhartt zippers will never match YKK but all in all a great purchase!
Haven’t worn it yet but can’t wait to do so. Only wish was that it was just a touch longer in the front. Perfect length in the back. Overall looks like a good quality coat and if the Sherpa lining is anything like my sweatshirt it will be plenty warm enough. Thanks Carhartt!
I felt it ran a little small, I normally wear a 2x which is what I initially ordered but it was a bit tight and felt short. Went with a 3x long and it fits perfectly.

By far my favorite hooded carhartt coat. I like my coats a little smaller than most people so I buy a large tall. I’m 5”11 210lbs. If you plan on layering this jacket I suggest going a size up.

I purchased this coat for my son for his birthday. He loves everything about it! The real test will be this fall/winter when he wears it up in Great Lakes area. We have owned Carhartt coats in the past so we think it will meet our expectations.
I love this jacket. It’s by far the most comfortable Carhartt I have worn. Very warm and soft. Quality is great! Love the pockets and storage space. The front pockets are not Sherpa lined but they are still very soft and warm.
I got this jacket for work (Hunting Guide) due to the fact that it is not only green, but has a nice dark sherpa that won't stand out in the woods. The fit and warmth are great! The only thing to know before you buy that is different from advertised is the front pockets ARE NOT sherpa lined! The front pockets do have a warm cloth lining (not sure what the material is called), but it is not sherpa. The main reason I mention it is that was a big reason I bought it, for the winter months. The pockets are warm, just not sherpa. The rating is 5 stars because the jacket is awesome! It's just an advertising discrepancy...can't say enough good about Carhartt! Love Carhartt!
Great jacket, just consider that relaxed fit is actually a closer fit than a regular fit. I am a large size, but the XL fit fine.

I normally wear a women’s L, so a men’s M for true to size and gave me room for some additional warming layers. Kept me warm while up in Flagstaff, AZ. Would definitely recommend.
