Not bad. Purchased on clearance. Measured according to listed chart. They are too big in the waist. Ordered 34 according to measurements and should have ordered a 32 I guess. They look nice but they are definitely noisy when walking. Quality for price paid ($24 on clearance) worth it. I wouldn’t pay full price.
I bought a pair of these because I needed a lighter weight short for a kayak trip. They have exceeded my expectations, they are sturdy, lightweight, and dry very quickly. I ordered a second pair, because my experience has been that if I find some thing I like it usually gets discontinued right away. Hopefully that won’t happen with this model, Carhartt please take note, I hope to order more in other colors in the future.

Really nice summer shorts that do not skimp on pockets
I like these shorts even though they contain no cotton, 95% nylon, they are comfortable and set just above the knee, 9". It will be interesting to see how they wear over time. <br />My favorite Carhartt short is the all cotton canvas model #B144 8.5" It appears to not be available anywhere. I also really like the Force short Bs196-M it is 69% cotton , 31% poly.<br />Availability seems to be an issue , to find what you like these days, subsequent covid.
Very comfortable, durable, great fit, planning on buying a few pairs of these. Great for working outdoors or lounging around the house.

Happy with purchase, I bought them more for leisure wear rather than work. I was looking for a light-weight fabric that would be comfortable in the Florida heat, be durable and something less than a heavy-duty cargo work short. The fit and quality was perfect for me, the shipping was fast and with the better than usual military discount, (THANK YOU CHARHARTT) I'd say I could not have done better. If they had some additional color options in the lightweight category I'd be buying more. I'll add that it's been hard to find shorts that were just what I've been looking for....these were it.

These are good shorts. they make you feel powerful. looks good too, people say "i like those shorts." but, They are very loud so it makes some danger for me. I need to be stealthy in my house because there are aggressive animals that are sometimes in here. because these are loud, I have to confront them more often than usual. <br /><br />If you don't need to be quiet, and need strong shorts, these are perfect! with many pockets

These are by far the best work/casual shorts I have ever worn. Extremely comfortable and very durable no tearing at the seams, like many other brands of shorts. I hope that Carhartt is not really discontinuing these, I only have 2 pair and I would love to buy more.

Love these shorts, however, I found that they are discontinuing them for unknown reasons. I live in and work in Florida, these are the only shorts that are lightweight and moisture wicking. SAD!

I've been buying Carhartt shorts since 2004...starting with the heavy duck 8 1/2 inch shorts and more recently the Rigby Rugged Flex 10 inch. They have been great for outdoor work / other activities, I still use them for that and wouldn't think of using anything but them. Until now, however, I've had to go to other brands for something to wear for golf, casual gatherings, etc. Not any more. These 9 inch lightweight ripstop shorts look more refined than cotton duck, they hang with a nice silhouette and I can easily wear them with polos in addition to work gear. I know that's strange, huh....an uppity golf polo with shorts bearing a Carhartt label on the pocket...but so what, I can pull off that look with these shorts and still have Carhartt quality and fit. My golf buddies now want some. These look good, they fit me to a T and 9" is the perfect length IMO. They are very lightweight, feel great, and the waist band flexes enough to accommodate my middle aged waist variances from time to time. Need them in black, navy, and maybe a brownish / olive color....I'll buy those too!
Don't like them at all. Even with a belt I'm constantly pulling these shorts up.. Terrible replacement for the fantastic B 144 shorts.
It'll be awhile before I put holes in these shorts. And stretch works well with my Covid 19!
Make some pants with this same fit and material. Make more of these shorts in other color options. 9” inseam is perfect for me and love the cell phone pocket. Belt loops are great. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars on durability is I haven’t had them long enough to know how durable they are.
Very light weight shorts. Dry fast. Seem durable one week in. I carry screws in my pocket and a drill and drivetip in the other. No punctures yet. <br />Real cool in Florida hot weather. Nice an stretchy but hold shape well

The photo's on these shorts (as well as another pair of pants I bought) show 3 belt loops across the back for 7 belt loops total. The reality is there is only one belt loop in the back (in the middle) for 5 total. Why not as pictured?

The most comfortable work shorts/shorts in general I’ve ever had. Light weight and flexible. So far they’re extremely durable especially for being so light weight. They would be great for hiking or anything outdoors as well.
I bought these for my husband and he LOVES them! He said they are lightweight and very cool on these hot summer days. They have just the right amount of stretch. The only down side, the cost. $49 is pretty expensive for work shorts but I’m hoping to buy more of them if they go on sale.

Best work short I’ve ever owned. Super comfortable and yet tough. <br />I’ve been working in 100 F weather and these shorts are fantastic. Functional pockets a big plus and extra belt loops help the fit. <br />Going to buy another pair.

These are great shorts. Quite a bit lighter weight than the last rip-stop shorts I bought a few years ago so I was a little surprised. The length is really nice...just above the knee so they don’t catch my kneecap when I bend my knees. That’s a positive for me. Nice big phone pocket.

Very light feel, which I want in shorts. Gray called asphalt, good color. <br />I’d like a small pocket on the left Thigh for my ever present sharpie, But, not in these.
I bough one pair first to try them out - fit and quality. Both fit and quality are true to the Carhartt brand. I specifically love the cell phone pocket on right side and embedded zipper pocket on left side (well hidden with seam). I've since bought two more pairs.

I was so excited to get these shorts because I had purchased the cotton ripstop shorts in the past and after 5 years of daily wear they've all finally wore out. Carhartt must have decided that no one wants the cotton ripstop shorts without cargo pockets because I can't find that design any longer. Instead, they went with the performance fishing gear fabric that Columbia tends to use (or a fabric that's similar). I'm sure they're functional but this type of material is UGLY. I have thick thighs so it looks like I turned a pair of polyester skinny pants into some shorts. Bring back the cotton rip stops without cargo pockets.
