I love it so much it completes me when I’m cold

My sister bought this for me for my bday. I haven’t worn another jacket since. I have designer bubble coats but wanted a change to something lighter but warm. I love the jacket, it’s not as loose fitting as I thought it would be but that’s ok.

Love this coat. Super warm and perfect for winter chores. The cut is flattering for a curvy shape. The ability to draw hood strings tight on a windy day is a huge perk. Easy to wipe down. A must have on my homestead!

The best jacket ever!

I am 6’ tall and athletic/curvy build. This jacket fits great! I went up from size xl to xxl because I was worried about the length of the fit in the arms and body. My previous experience with women’s carhartt fit is that it is designed for women much shorter then me. It’s generally short waisted and boxy. I could have gone with my usual xl and had a great fit, but I am also happy with the larger size. I can move freely, I don’t feel restricted and can bundle up underneath if we hit a cold snap. I get complements from people who are shocked that work wear can also look great and fit nicely. I haven’t washed it, but I try not to wash carhartt until absolutely necessary. I’d say this is tall girl friendly, an actual functional jacket for those in trades, flattering fit and warm enough to not have to worry too much about base layers.

Extremely warm! Not super stiff despite the sturdy material. Love the design with the inner cuffs on the sleeves and the stretchy waistband of it!

I love how this fits. The cuffed sleeves keep my body heat in and I am able to move around easily.

I just got this yesterday, my first Carhartt jacket, and it is awesome! Keeps me warm without getting hot. Fits great! I can layer if I need to, good arm movement. I kind of wish it had snaps, as well, to close the front. <br /><br />Very nicely made, should last a long time.

It's a great jacket! Appears to be well-made, durable, and warm. I ordered both a S (4-6) and a M (8-10) and decided to keep the M. I'm 5'4", 132lbs, athletic frame. I found that the S fit like the model, but the underarm seams were uncomfortable. Maybe the back width was too small for me. The M is a loose fit, but comfortable everywhere. I could easily wear a sweater underneath. It is longer and hits at the top of my thighs. The sleeves do not seem to be much longer. A little larger than my perfect fit, but comfortable and not overwhelming.

Did I "need" a purple Carhartt jacket? NO<br />Did I buy it anyway? YES<br />Do I love it? Also YES<br /><br />Great quality. Love the hood and pockets. Sleeves are great length and I appreciate the internal cuff to keep the cold out. I find that the Carhartt Women's Plus sizes run small. I ordered up (3X) and its a bit big, but I think the 2X would have felt a bit small. I can add layers underneath as needed. No more stealing my husband's Carhartt jacket to take the dog out.

I’ve wanted a Carhart jacket for many years! I usually wear a size S, but had to get as M due to the protruding lump on my upper spine. It’s slightly big, but definitely the warmest jacket I own!

The jacket is nice, but not great. It's nowhere near as insulated at my husband's and is too short for a woman with a long torso. The outside pockets are worthless as they're too shallow to actually hold anything while moving about without the pocket's contents falling out. I wouldn't consider buying it again. I'm too tiny to purchase a Men's small without swimming in it.<br />I'm a 5'5

I absolutely love this coat. I will be coming back to get a smaller one since I lost weight. I have used this coat so much in the last 2 years it is not funny from the morning chill to layered during snow this coat is an all around good, durable and nice work coat. My only complaint is sometimes the zipper sticks. I wish they would use a different zipper.

Fits beautifully! I’m about 5’7 145. A small fits great. Pretty much looks exactly the same on me as the model picture in terms of sleeve length and where is sits on my hips.

Wow. I LOVE this jacket. It’s so warm and toasty. Looks stylish so that I’m wearing it just casually, but ready to do outdoor projects with my hubby. I then find out about the repairs and Carhartt guarantee!

I purchased this just in time for our first freeze here in the WV mountains. I owned another of the same style for about 3 years before it started showing signs of wear, mostly on the sleeves where the hay eventually causes abrasion. It and this jacket keep me plenty warm, it is constructed very well and has several pocket locations, some inside which is a great idea. This time, I purchased the insulated lining, my previous jacket was sherpa. Although my previous jacket had a detachable hood, which I rarely used, this does not. However, this jacket seems much lighter in weight than the other so the hood doesn't seem to bother me much, which was a concern. Hoods are usually too large for me and they block my peripheral vision of where our horses are in relation to myself. I am 5'3", 116 lbs. but purchased a medium so I could layer if necessary. We get some strong winter winds here so staying warm is necessary. I would highly recommend this jacket.

I like it a lot. Super durable!!! My one comment is you might want to size up if your on the larger size so that you have room to lift your arms. Otherwise 10/10 would definitely buy again

Comfortable and great quality. I always run between a small and medium. However, from experience, Carhartt typically runs a little big. Small was a perfect fit.

Do yourself a favor and buy the men’s jacket in a smaller size: you’ll save $10 and your stuff won’t fall out of your pockets. For workwear, the women’s version of my favorite Carharrt jacket isn’t very practical.

she loved it. we looked for a loooong time to find one in the dark brown color despite being told by Carhartt it was discontinued. one finally popped up online somehow and we got it.

I ordered a Medium thinking it was loose fit and should be good. I don’t really find that it is loose fitting and I am not a large person. But, I do really like it, just can’t layer under it.

Rugged material, elastic type fit at bottom of jacket so it rides up. Not loose fitting like previous "Full Swing" design Carhartt. Previous design also had flex across shoulders to allow Woman's chest comfort.

I am normally an xs or s and I sized up to a medium since I wanted it to be a tad oversized. It is not oversized at all, fits normally. Wish I could have gotten a large. Otherwise, its a really nice jacket. Its super firm and sturdy so I think I need to break it in more.

I live in Colorado. The weather gets cold and the sun get very strong at the same time. I got this jacket so I can wear it when I'm doing outdoor yard work, volunteering at animal shelter on cold wintery, windy days. I got the size Small and the size fits me perfectly. I usually wear size Medium top, wear 36-38, B cup size. Overall, I am very happy with the quality and the durability. I would highly recommend the jacket!

I love this jacket! It's so comfortable and warm - but not stiflingly hot - I don't feel like I'm baking inside of it. It's got great movement, so I can wear it while working no problem. It is a little heavy/bulky to carry when not wearing it, but that's certainly not a dealbreaker. <br />And it's clearly durable, so I don't worry that it will get ruined in the course of a day. In fact, my very first time wearing it, I ended up having to walk through a thicket of burned manzanitas, and aside from a few ash marks, the jacket (and me!) exited totally unscathed. <br /><br />I'm 5'6" 115lbs and the Small fits perfectly.

I absolutely love this jacket! It’s super rugged and I love the hood on it. I’m in between a L and XL depending on how I want things to fit. L if I want it fitted and XL if I want some room for hoodies. I originally ordered a L based on the reviews and sizing chart thinking it would be the perfect blend of fitted and roomy. Sadly I had to return it because it was too snug around my hips. I replaced it with an XL and now I am finding it too big on me. Not so big I won’t wear it but definitely bigger than I had hoped with way more room than I need for a hoodie under it. I feel like there needs to a size in between the L and XL because there was quite a difference in the fit between the two…for me anyway. It almost felt like the XL was two sizes bigger than the L. I’m giving it a 4 for that reason only. Everything else is amazing including shipping time and ease of return policy.

Disappointed in color it’s pitch black definitely not a faded look even tried washing it to see if then it would have the faded look like in the pictures but no luck.

We gave this jacket to our granddaughter for her 12th birthday. She loves it! Its a little big for her, but she said she wants to grow into it and have it for a long time!

I ordered up a size so it would fit lower on my waist and give me more arm movement when I’m working.

Excellent quality as always. This is the second jacket I have owned. Let me tell you I put it to the test. I am a logger and wear my insulated bib overalls with a hoodie daily in the winter months. On those really cold days or early mornings I wear my jacket in addition. I would recommend sizing up one size of you plan to wear it with bibs, or a thicker shirt. I typically wear a small but ordered a medium to all for layering underneath. However if you just plan to wear a tshirt it is true to size. Arm length is perfect. Other brands always seem to long and the cuffs get in the way of my gloves. I do wish there was a second inside pocket on the right.

I bought this because my husband has had his for the last 12 years; it’s still in great shape and warm as it’s ever been and he wears it all the time in the winter. It’s definitely comfortable and is better than any winter coat I’ve ever bought from anywhere else. The size is good as well; I’m a big fat lady and I don’t feel like I’m going to explode the zipper hurling the teeth like shrapnel towards those unlucky enough to be nearby. In other words, I very much recommend this coat.

I LOVE this jacket! It’s not faded like in the picture, it’s actually jet black. A little tight when you first get it but gradually expands so an xs was perfect!

I love this jacket, it is very warm,etc. My dad used to wear these jackets and he used to buy them for me when I was little, after he passed away I wore his, so this year I decided to get my own so his don't lose his smell. Feels durable and fits true to size (since sm 5’ 3”). The fabric around my hips feels a bit tight though and I don’t have particularly large hips. Can definitely fit a layer or two underneath it!

Not as warm as expected. <br />My husband has the same jacket for men (bought 2 years ago) which is extremely warm and I like to borrow it from him. That's why I purchased this one but am disappointed to see that the women's jacket is a lot thinner and not as warm as the men's jacket so I still keep using my husband's all the time.<br />What makes it even more disappointing is that the jacket is described as "warmest", it even had a tag/sticker on it saying "warmest".<br /><br />Other than that good quality but unfortunately useless for cold nights.

I work on a farm and needed something durable and warm that would also let me move and be active without getting too hot. I love this coat, and I really like the dark blue color! I am 5’10’ 130 lbs and usually have a hard time finding a ladies jacket that is long enough in the torso and sleeves but the medium fits great. The stretchy (but not tight) wrist bands and waist band keep the warmth in and the snow, hay or whatever else out! Winter where I live is usually snowy and in single digits or teens so I need to be warm but I am also moving a lot so I didn’t want a fuzzy inside, so this jacket was perfect for what I need. Quality is great, I’m pretty rough on my clothes. Definitely a return customer, here!

Wish Carhartt would go back to the old cuff style, but otherwise a great jacket—warm and wind proof. Loose fit is nice for layering.

Nice jacket, but I had to return it, as it was too big. The size I needed wasn't available, so I will have to wait until they are available again. It is hard to find a correct size. I am short, but long waisted. Sometimes they are too tight on the hips and too large in the shoulders. And the sleeves are too long, too. So finding the best fit requires trying a couple of different sizes and maybe you can just get close. Great quality, though. I hope I can get one that fits close enough. Wonderful jacket otherwise

I’m super bummed to hear about Carhartts stand on vaccine mandates. But unlike a lot of their other fans who oppose the mandates, I will probably continue to buy carhartt jackets. I think if you own an iPhone and support other communist-type businesses, then boycotting carhartt probably doesn’t do much good. <br /><br />This jacket is hands down the best I’ve owned. It’s super warm and indestructible. I wear it at the barn almost every day and I have a lot of dogs who love jumping up and dragging their claws on you. This jacket doesn’t even budge or scuff. But if you’re on the fence when it comes to sizing, size up. I’m 5’6 124lbs with longer arms and while the small fits perfectly, a medium would also have been nice to wear other garments that are thicker underneath.

The jacket is ok, but the zipper isn't. It's hard to get the jacket edge out of the way to get the tab into the zipper - then you have to rearrange the whole jacket so you can pull the zipper up - lots of wasted time and frustration.

Good fit, I bought an XL but normally wear a L, but have room to wear a hoodie and layer for outside work. Very warm, love it.

The overall fit was nice, but it was too short in the body and the sleeves. I wish they would make TALL in women’s sizes. I’m only 5’10” and know of plenty of other women that are taller.

The photo isn't accurate--it looks like a distressed black, which I really wanted, but it's not at all. The fit is perfect--5'5', 130 lbs. sports a Medium. I could probably wear a small, but it's nice to have the relaxed fit for extra layers. Zipper is a bit fiddly to hook up but rides smoothly. Outside pockets are well placed and roomy for hands with or without gloves. Not as flattering a fit as it looks in the photo but super functional.

I bought the Small for my 5'8", 137 lbs, 36B short torso. It fit juuust a little tight. Like a cute look, but pulled on the shoulders a bit and the sleeves came up a little too high when I raised my hands. I would not be able to wear anything thick underneath. Since I needed a work jacket that allowed movement, I've returned and am waiting for the medium! It's a much better fit than I expected and figure flattering for Carhartt! I wish the lining was soft flannel instead of what it has, but it'll be a good jacket for working outside!

Love this jacket just got it today and its better than i expected in the lictures the colors look faded which they arent so i wasnt so sure about how i would like it. I got a M since everyone said its runs big im 5'6 with long arms and long torso im around 130-135 and it fits just fine i was concerned about others saying the sleeves werent long enough which ive always had issues in the past with clothes been to wide but short.

Perfect! 5'3" and 150lbs. Size 10 Petite. After much thought and using true size process I bought the large. I have this jacket model from 16 years ago in an xl. It is like a tent /.huge on me but I used it to clean snow and wanted layers but seroiusly that one is too big. Wanted one that fits. Didn't want huge again and wanted a medium but got large. . It came in 2 days and it is perfect. It is roomy so I can wear layers but it's not huge as it appears less boxy and is more balanced in proportion..My arms aft short but this jacket has sleeves that are cuffed inside the duck..and are not bulky. I could pull my hands inside to get warm. I suggest a neck gator or scarf etc as my neck had air going in maybe because the jacket is a bit big. I will be bying a medium next but this coat is still everything Carhartt stands for..sturdy . Well made and warm. It is minus -8 and-minus25 windchill and I went out to test it. My face was cold and my hands were numb in 5 min. But my body was warm. I had only a long sleeve tshirt and vest under it. With a proper base layer I will be toasty. Pros...sturdy material, good fit. Pocket w zipper inside. LOVE THE SLEEVES IMPrOVED. Wish list..outside zip pocket and flannel lining like my old one.and consider a flap over the neck chin area at base of hood. Cold air still goes in there a scarf is needed.. but that gets in my way. This is an awesome jacket.

Loved it! My daughter did too. I haven't worn it in months :) It's her new favorite Carhartt. I love the color and band at the wrists and waist to keep the cold out. The sizing was accurate. I've washed it and it came out good. The color didn't fade. I hung it to dry.

Fits great! I love that I can layer clothes under it. I work in a lumber yard that is high functioning and constantly going. This jacket holds up to lumber, rebar, concrete block and loose windows rubbing all over the sleeves very durable and holds up.

This is my new favorite fall, early winter coat! It's wind resistant (important in MT) and very warm. I like that the fabric isn't stiff and the way the arms/elbows are made makes it very easy to move around in. The sleeve and waist cuffs keep the wind out and the lined pockets keep your hands warm. It has a nice feminine fit yet it's built to work in. I normally wear a medium in most shirts because of broad shoulders (5'6", 130 lbs) but a small was perfect. It doesn't look huge on me yet I can still wear a thick sweater or even a down best underneath for extra cold days. My only complaint is that I wish the had a longer zipper to cover your neck and chin. It stops right at the collar. Overall, you can't go wrong with this coat!

I love this jacket I think I'll have it for many many years

When buying this jacket, I thought it would be great for the winter time, but it is not as warm as I was thinking it was going to be. I could have read the description wrong. Also, I would order one size up. It fits snug and I can't even wear a sweatshirt under it. However, it is great for outdoors and horses. I love having a jacket that I can wear and not worry about working outdoors in it.

Spent lots of time browsing and reading reviews and chose this style because it seemed like it wasn’t short and boxy like some of the other styles. I’m 5’6” 120 lbs and bought the size small. It fits great for my intentions of having a loose fit with plenty of room for layering up. I have long arms and these sleeves are perfect length. Jacket is nice and long so that you don’t feel a draft when crouching down. Love the “hidden” fitted cuffs that keep the hay out of my sleeves! Of course the quality and durability is great, as expected from a Carhartt jacket.

It fits good in the shoulder area but is large enough through the body and sleeves to wear a sweatshirt underneath. It is a heavy coat. I got the black color and every piece of lint or hair shows. I haven’t washed it yet so don’t know how it washes up or how long it takes to dry. I wear it to feed outside cats

I bought a size smaller then I usually wear and it fits well. I still have plenty of room to wear a sweater and shirt layered underneath.

I'm really loving this jacket. I live in the Pocono mountains in PA and this jacket stands up to the wind and chilly temps. It fits really really well. I'm 5'4'' and 270 lbs and got the 1X (plus size). I would probably typically get the 2X, but another review said it ran a little big. The 1X is perfect for me - I can wear a sweatshirt underneath or just a normal shirt - both are comfortable. I love all the pockets, too. Would recommend!

What is wrong with your idea of women's arm lengths? My workplace ordered jackets for us. I am a tall woman with long arms, and my coworker is a smaller woman with regular length arms. Even her sleeves were too short. Please create a tall woman line of clothing. I've tried to use men's items, but they are too baggy.

Excellent. If the drawstring at the neck didn’t look and feel so cheap, I’d give it 5 stars. Love the generous hood for those of us with abundant hair. Great over the classic lined bibs for shlepping to the chicken yard in frigid weather. With a pair of Ninja ice gloves, 250 merino base layer, a medium weight fleece jacket underneath, and my arctic pro Muck boots, this getup keeps me comfortable and able to face the chores in sub zero temps during a snowstorm when the homestead needs attention.

Excellent work jacket. I have to crash through thick brush and under barbed wire fences for work and it doubles as armor from getting poked by sharp things. Doesn't get caught or ripped. It's warm enough for working outdoors in Colorado. I almost hate getting it dirty at work, since it's also mad stylish and wildly comfortable on the inside. Wish I had two.

I love the quality of how it is made. It is very warm.

The jacket is very nice...warm and comfy. The only thing is the top left outside pocket. It is very difficult to reach in and actually use the pocket because the zipper opens horizontally.it really should be vertical. I'll probably never use that pocket and that stinks.

I love the jacket, but it is very loose fitting. I wish they had a small in stock when I ordered but the two colors I wanted were sold out of size small so I settled for a medium. It’s a great jacket for working outside at the barn and I love it but I wish I could have gotten a small. I’m typically a size M shirt and 8 jacket

Great quality coat that’s plenty warm and rugged. Unfortunately my phone is always slipping out of the pocket.

I’m loving this jacket so far! It’s been perfect for late fall/early winter in PA (ranging from upper 40s to low 30s). The hood is nice and large and covers my whole head. When it’s really cold, I have enough room to layer a thick hoodie underneath and I’m good to go. I’m about 5’8 and 160lbs, and a large fits perfect with a bit of extra room. My only minor complaint is that the side pockets could be a little deeper, but other than that, it’s great. The inside pockets are great as well!

The jacket itself is really great quality and looked good but the sizing was incredibly off. I followed the size chart for the plus sizes and it's completely inaccurate, the jacket was comically too big for me. I don't know how the charts were made but I hope Carhartt considers being more thoughtful and accurate, I think it's great that they offer plus sizes but the 20W was more like 4XL and it should be marketed that way for people who would love to have a jacket like this in that size. <br />I ended up getting a different jacket in the straight size XXL (also labeled a size 20?) that fits perfect so my main advice here is that Carhartt go back to those Plus Size jackets and measure them correctly, if you are going to offer extended sizes then commit to having accurate size guides.

Amazing jacket! It fits perfect, I like how the arms are long enough for me to continue working outside without them riding up. I was expecting the jacket to be a bit thicker but I still love it.

Love how warm and comfy this jacket is. The zipper however is it’s only downside and unfortunately, that’s a big part of a quality jacket. The zipper seems cheap. It isn’t smooth at all, sometimes I wonder if it’s even going to zip. Fairly disappointing being that it’s my first carhartt jacket. Was hoping for the same quality as carhartt leggings, socks and boots.

I'm happy with the fit. I'm 5'2 and a very muscular 140 lbs (weight lifter) and rely on the size chart being accurate to get the right fit. The size small is plenty big for multiple layers underneath. And it's not tight on my arms or shoulders as can be a problem in women's cut clothes. In other outerwear brands like North face I usually need women's medium to fit my arms and shoulders. The sleeves have a cuff that prevents them from being overly long on my petite frame. It feels plenty warm so I'm hoping it works through Virginia winters. I only wish the cut were a little more fitted around my waist. But I suspect the roominess would allow it to accommodate someone busty, or a few months into pregnancy, so perhaps that makes this style more flexible for various body types.

So pretty! Its true to size just a little loose not tight fitting. You can wear a long sleeve under and still have some room. I usually like my sweater or jackets to be oversized even though I’m usually a SMALL but this jacket is perfect no need to order a bigger size. I ordered a size SMALL. I am excited to wear it once the cold weather gets here.

I like the look and warmth of my new jacket, but I am having trouble with the zipper, it has wrinkled and buckled and makes it hard to zip. Also the outside pockets are too shallow to hold my cell phone and the outside pockets do not close. I am considering sending it back and exchanging for another style.

Well constructed and overall nice jacket but fit larger than expected. <br />I ordered a small and am 5'7 130 lbs. I have a medium in the wildwood weathered duck jacket which is quite roomy and I found the small in this jacket fit about the same as that. I'm also learning that Carhartt jackets are incredibly heavy. The photos here suggest more of a spring sporty look but this is quite a thick jacket. I liked the cuffs. Wish there were zippered pockets on the side. I decided to return because of the size. <br />I love my wildwood weathered duck.

Bought for wife. She owns 2 previous Carhartt jackets and says this is her favorite so far. Softer and more comfortable right out of the box. Likes the nylon quilted lining that it slides over her shirt easier and is thinner but still just as warm. The newer style inner cuffs look to be less prone to wear. The purple color is very nice and the overall styling and fit are slimmer, less bulky. She is 5’3”, 125 lbs, 35C and the small fits her a little big with more than enough room for layering with a thick sweaters etc. It runs slightly large in her opinion..

I AM OBSESSED with my jacket! The picture on this coat said "Plus Fit" in a big yellow circle on the top right side of the picture. So I was a bit confused that I had somehow purchased an item for plus size even though it didn't say so in the drop-down. But I was pleasantly surprised when I received my order in the mail! It's amazing quality, a substantial material, the sleeves have those nice, thick sweatshirt cuffs at the bottom to keep the wind from blowing up your sleeves on a cold day,

It’s great my only complaint is there are not any real options for large busted women with a skinny waistline, my girl is not a large women but because her bust line is 46” which pushes her into a 2XL so although it fits her, her bottom half kind of swims in. It’s a great jacket, but is there anything that can be done?

Love the warmth and style of the jacket! Went by the chart for sizing, got a 2x, and had to send back because it was huge on me. Reordered in a 1x and fits better but is still a little big. Keeping it and hoping an extra layer of shirt will fill it out.

This jacket is plenty warm and I have room to wear layers underneath on the really cold days. So far, it’s been fine when the temps have been in low single digits. I love the pockets because hay does not sneak into them when I feed the horses. The zipper goes up higher than on my old one and helps keep my neck warm and it’s not as heavy as my old one, which I wore for nearly 20 years! I ordered a medium and am 5’5” tall and weigh 121 lbs. with slightly wide shoulders and it fits just right. If you want a closer, tighter fit, order small.

I saw the character Beth wear this jacket on the series “Yellowstone” and just loved it. My husband ordered one for me and one for my daughter In the Carhartt brown. We both love our jackets. The product is well made, comfortable, fits true to size and looks really good. I’ve had many compliments on this jacket and would recommend it.

This jacket is was given as a gift. They are enjoying the durability, warmth and like how the fit is more feminine then the male version of the coat. I recommend to consider as a purchase or gift!

I absolutely love this coat. Kept me plenty warm in 25 degree weather, which in Washington is actually pretty cold. It is extremely well made and look cute, I bought the purple and love it.

Very disappointed in how quickly this jacket developed holes at wear points and how the sleeves separated from the arms. Materials and workmanship are not what they used to be.

I was hesitant of the size but a Large fit perfectly. I am very top heavy 38G and it closed perfectly.

Frustrated and disappointed in the lack of functional use for this jacket. I ordered it for working in a very cold winter climate with the goal of wearing heavy layers underneath. I am roughly 5'9" and 135 lbs, I ordered the Medium to throw a sweatshirt on underneath. I was thrilled with the purple color when my jacket arrived, but that was about it. It had such short sleeves that when I extended my arms the sleeves crept up my forearms, I also felt the jacket had limited range of motion in the arm/shoulder area. I have a physically demanding/dirty job and generally look to carhartt to help dress appropriately. Perhaps a looser men's jacket would be a suitable alternative, but I am disappointed that this seems more like a "fashion" jacket than a functional work article.

I use it when I go out to the barn to take care of my horse I live up in the Northeast and nothing gets through this jacket not any wind not any cold and it’s comfortable. I can put the hood up and feel warm and cozy in it. My only complaint is that I didn’t get this years ago. This Hass to be one of the best purchases I ever made and I never write things like this but this thing has been a game changer. Thank you Carhartt for making this

I've wanted this classic jacket for a long time and I was not disappointed. Use the size chart for sizing because Carhartt's medium is 8/10 whereas many brands it's a 6/8. Just use the size chart and you will be great for any of Carhartt's clothing. This is quite warm and durable for outdoor work.

Had it for a few weeks now and am loving it. I got it for 4 wheeling in the KY winter so it doesn't get SUPER cold, but it appears to be pretty wind resistant and has kept me perfectly toasty. Fit is great. I am 5'4", 135lbs and got a small. No complaints, can still fight a light hoodie underneath. Would have been too big if I got a medium.

Everything is perfect about this jacket minus the fact that it absorbs ALL of the lint in the world. It’s impossible to keep it lint free.

Love this jacket, it’s very comfortable with lots of room to move even with layers. I’m 5’1 and 114 lbs and the small fits perfect. Also love that the band around waste area is not snug fitting and it doesn’t ride up after bending over. Helps keep you warm in cold and windy weather, if you’re wanting something for brutal cold I would get a heavier coat, but so far this one is great for the milder winter we have in the south.

I am 5' 3" and 130 lbs. I got a medium because I am in between sizes. I might have been able to get a small. I wore the jacket while wading in 30 degree weather. I had a Patagonia primiloft jacket underneath and I was decently warm. I got it for field work so I can work in the brambles and not rip up my jackets. Time will tell how sturdy this jacket is as I have only had it a short couple of months.

I highly recommend this Carhartt Women's Washed Duck Insulated Active Jacket for the fall and winter season. It's a solid cut and fits snug. I love the quality. Nice and heavy and very warm. For an XS I think it runs a tiny bit big but if you consider layering, it ends up being perfect sizing for over a hoody or other sweater. I can still move my arms given the thick/ durable fabric so thats a plus. Now what I don't like is the lighter color fabric on the hemline of the sleeves (minor so i didn't subtract a star). Another thing I wish the front pockets had hidden zippers like the mens version. I REALLY WISH THE FRONT POCKETS HAD ZIPPERS!!! Especially since the pockets are big but not deep so you can put stuff in it but it doesn't sit lower so stuff falls out. THE LADIES NEED ZIPPERS TOO. Great coat anyway but wanted to give my feedback.

This coat isn’t as warm as a previous one I got. Although that was about 20 years ago. This one has a hat and the other one did not. The quality seems very good, as all of Carhart’s merchandise is.

The hood is deep enough so that it’s useful. Seems like a durable material. I ordered a small and the length is fine but I can fit both arms in one sleeve, so it’s bigger than what I was looking for. I could easily fit three fleeces underneath so I’m worried air will get in. It’s not warm enough for MA winter but would be a great layering jacket or a fall jacket.

I’m 5’3” and 110 lbs, I’m a 32DD, 27” waist, 33” hip. I normally wear a 00 and XS in juniors sizes. After measuring myself, reading the reviews, and deciding on an XS, I was so worried that my boobs would be way too big and the jacket would be too tight. Thankfully the sizing was just right! My DD’s fit great, I even put on a thick sweater and found that I still had more room to zip up and breath. With or without a hoodie underneath, the fit is so perfect, I don’t feel like I’m swimming in fabric. The overall fit is true to size with a little room to layer up. I’m so happy with this jacket!! It’s a perfect!!

Nice jacket but an engineering flaw made us return it - the underarm seam of the jacket to the sleeve is made of 4 fabric junctures and becomes very thick - my wife could feel it as very uncomfortably poking her arm pit. If the junctures were staggered it would be softer. Too bad she loved the jacket but could not wear it.

This jacket came highly recommend. It is very warm, comfy and pracitcal. My only wish would be a brighter purple. I did get the only purple color offered but in my mind I like a brighter purple.

Recently started wearing Carhartt for work. I love it. I bought the sherpa lined washed duck vest and wanted to get a jacket. I love the waist of the washed duck jacket, just wish it was sherpa lined! Or had the sherpa lined pockets. But other than that it's great! I chose this jacket over the sherpa lined jacket because of the fitted waist.

I love this jacket! I fell in over with Carhartt when I started wearing my husband's Carhartt jacket out to feed cows in the cold early mornings realizing my upper body wasn't cold at all. So I decided I needed my own!

I decided to go straight to Carhartt for the replacement. I went with this jacket which is a bit lighter but sooooo cute! It is form fitting if you get the right size! This coat is wonderful! Clearly durable, love the elasticized cuffs and bottom to keep the wind out, the zipper is smooth, the hood is big and cozy, and the coat is warm without being bulky. Seems to run small - i normally wear an xl and an XXL fits perfectly with room for a thin sweater and tank top combo. I am 5'4" and the coat comes to the middle of my butt. <br /><br />I do wish the pockets were deeper, or a different shape, or zippered, but that isn't enough for me to send this great coat back! <br /><br />The deep wine is a beautiful dark plum color!

The quality of the jacket is great, seems like it would be super warm. If you fall in the petite category though, this jacket is not for you. I did see other reviews mention this, but I wanted to decide for myself so I purchased it anyway. For reference, I’m 4’11 and 115lbs, and I ordered XS. I know Carhartt jackets are supposed to be on the bigger/bulkier side, that’s why I ordered one in the first place because I really do like the look. I also figured it would be perfect for layering during Michigan winters. HOWEVER, the XS literally went down mid-thigh, it was so unflattering and looked like I was wearing my husband’s jacket! 100% do not recommend if you are on the shorter side. Carhartt, I truly hope you take our feedback seriously and consider making jackets for petite people. Runs HUGE. I should have listened to the other commenters who mentioned how large this runs on petite women. If they offered child/teen sizes in these jackets I would get that, but this is the smallest available and I now have to return. Short and/or petite women work outdoors also, but apparently we aren’t represented at Carhartt.

I work at a horse rescue and needed something that I could wear outside year round especially in the cold months that would not only keep me warm but was also durable. I bought this coat after a friend recommended it to me after owning hers for 3 years and boy am I glad I did! It's exceptionally warm and functional at the same time. Just bought another one!

Love it! I went by the recommendation on the size finder and I have to be honest, I'm surprised it fit like it did. I'm short (5'0) and still the sleeves are perfect and it isn't way too long in the body. My favorite!

This jacket fits perfectly. The heavy duck canvas blocks the wind nicely. With layering it will be my go to winter jacket for here in Northern Wisconsin.

Really enjoying this coat now that the weather has started to turn cold. It allows me to move freely while keeping me warm! And it is long enough in the sleeves which is always a challenge for a tall gal.

It hasn’t been cold enough but we are looking forward to wearing this for years to come!

Love this jacket! It's warm and comfortable. I bought a medium which was a perfect fit. I wanted it to be a little roomy so I can layer underneath. I worked outside all day in about 35 degrees Fahrenheit and the jacket kept me at just the right temperature. It seems well-made and durable. Great quality for the price.

Not sure really as to durability and functionality as I have only worn it twice so far since getting.

Fit is good. The design of the jacket, especially the cuffs, is very good. The jacket is rugged with great pockets and is serving me well for outside chores and physical work tasks. I should have spent the money on this jacket a long time ago.

I'm am so excited that I got my jacket in. I absolutely love it! I got sixe xs I am 5ft and 110lb and it was a perfect fit.

Not for tall ladies! Wish they had women’s sizes in tall or offered some of these colors in the men’s styles. Ended up purchasing a men’s medium that is working out great. For reference I’m 5’9, 6 ft wing span, 140 lbs. I purchased a women’s large and the arms were very short still. But the gray/blue color was really great in person, bummed it didn’t work.

I loved this jacket as soon as I put it on. It’s a bit heavy which I love, it’s super warm and a perfect fit with a hoodie underneath. Absolutely in love! <br />I am 5’9” 137lb and it is not short.

Looks like picture, I ware a medium got a size large it fits nicely. If I would of got a medium would of been to small. I will order again.

Love this jacket!!! Keeps me warm can fit a sweater under it perfectly (I got the sherpa lines sweater from Carhartt as well) and I can move very comfortably I don’t feel tight or bulky my whole family has them! Will definitely buy again.

I love my jacket! It's a women's medium, I'm 5'7" tall and weigh 125#. This jacket fits perfectly for layering up underneath. I live in the Chicago area and I plan on staying warm this Winter. Definitely reccomend.

Love this jacket. It’s not nearly as bulky as other carhartt jackets but definitely warmer. I own horses in the Pacific Northwest and I use this more than my rain jacket and never get too wet. I only wish pockets were a bit bigger but isn’t that the problem with all women’s clothing.

I’ve had my other Carhartt jack for 15 years, this one is not as warm.

This jacket is super cozy and warm. Living in Maryland the weather is a little too temperamental to make it an every day jacket at this point in fall (Review being written in Oct 2020). It fits great and moves well. I am fairly broad shouldered for someone as small as I am, I find that I have to lift the sleeves a bit when I bend over to pick things up so that the jacket doesn't feel too pinched, but that doesn't bother me too much. When I first got this Deep Wine Jacket I was concerned that I had received the wrong color, but in sunlight it reads as a beautiful wine color. Overall love this jacket and I plan on making it my go to every day jacket this fall and winter!

Our daughter absolutely loved this jacket. She is 5 feet tall and weighs 100 lbs and other than being a tiny bit long, the jacket is a great fit. We couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I wear the jac over insulated overalls at the farmers market and for working in the farm. The jacket could be a little longer in the sleeves and in the length for me but there are no "gaps" if I wear with the overalls. I like the loose fit and the warmth - and with a lot of activity, if I get overheated - the overalls keep me warm with a long sleeve shirt underneath.

I have had this exact style jacket since 2002. 18 years ago I received it as a Christmas gift and it is still in EXCELLENT condition. I wear it every year. This jacket is work every penny!

Still too hot here in Dallas to wear it, but a quick try-on in the house indicates it is an excellent jacket. Quality clothing for folks who aren’t in the 1%.

This is a good jacket, has a nice weight to it. I looked at all the comments and asked around about the sizes. It was very mixed reviews. I'm short 5'1, and most jackets or sweaters I'm between a medium and large. Mainly the shoulders I have problems with. I ordered a large and it's big, even with a sweater under it. I would suggest if you're between sizes to get the smaller one. I' m going to get a medium jacket and see how that goes.

This actually fits my arm length and torso. I have a short torso and huge shoulders so jackets tend be tight and too short. But this jacket fits well, I can lift my arms and my belly and back are covered. Looks good too!

I bought this for my daughter for her birthday. It is a beautiful color and my daughter loved it. She had one originally and lost it. She loves this one, she said it fit her better.

I was very impressed with the quality and comfort. I personally feel the sizing was more so on the generous size. I would say I’m a size 18 and ordered the 1x 16/18 and I can still wear the jacket with a sweatshirt underneath. The jacket itself is very warm. The “thinsulation” technology allows for warmth without bulk. I’m not normally impressed or excited about pockets but I very much enjoy the different pocket locations that are large enough to hold a big iPhone. I’ve wanted one of these jackets for a while, I only wish I would have purchased one sooner.

I'm 5'2" and 120lbs with broad shoulders and this XS feels like a medium. I could fit two of my arms in the sleeves. The sleeves are so long, they almost cover my fingertips, and my arms are longer than usual for my height. The room around the elbow might be nice for bending your arms and working if there wasn't so much extra fabric in the way to get caught on things. Could get this tailored because I like the jacket, but that would cost as much as the jacket itself. <br />Looks like it would be durable and warm - though not as heavy as the Weathered Duck Wesley coat, for those who are comparing - and I'd love to be able to wear this, but I have to send it back. <br />If you need to layer a lot of clothing under this jacket, buy your normal size. If not, size down. <br />Carhartt: Please, please fix your sizing or make an XXS for small women. I need tough work clothes too. Don't size me out.

Very warm, ordered a size medium because I wanted a looser, more comfortable fit. So far it has exceeded my expectations.

The coat was very loose in hips, it kind of just hangs. Bust and shoulders fit well. It's ok for wearing to do yard work.

I like the look of the jacket but it was large on me. I’m 5 ft 2 , 115 pounds and the xs was big on me. Definitely not really how it appears in the photos. Its very baggy and feels like I’m wearing a huge round puffed out stiff jacket. I tried a small on in stores which was slightly large on me so I though the xs would be perfect but unfortunately was pretty much the same size as the small, pretty disappointed

I was very surprised at how my jacket can handle our cold Michigan weather. I love my Carhartt jacket.

It better then i imagine. I always wore my father's or my husband's jacket to keep me warm during the cold season. The jacket keeps me very warm and it's also very comfortable and I'm able to hide my small revolver in the pocket. I plan to buy another jacket in the future. I'm a delivery driver and going in and out of the vehicle the jacket keeps me very warm and I get a lot of compliments on it.

I should have purchased a size small. I used the size guide, but what the size guide does not take into account is arm length. The arms are too long and the torso is too long. I wanted his coat to be my favorite go to for the early spring/late fall, but now I feel like I look like a sloppy mess.

I love this jacket so much, I'm so happy I got it. I was between sizes in the hip range and sized up and was worried it was going to be really baggy/ not flattering. But I'm glad I did and it's cute and super comfortable (but fyi I'm also not going for the fitted look). I got the deep wine color which looked very similar to the dark brown color (on my computer), but it was exactly the color I hoped it would be. I love this jacket because it is not bulky, warm, and breathable. So you can layer underneath it when it's cold or wear with a t shirt underneath on warmer days. Only con for me is that it is a cat hair magnet, ha!

I LOVE this jacket!! So glad I got it. I work outside with apple trees and needed a coat that was warm, non-binding and durable as other jackets are ripped by the branches. This is perfect! All of the above AND when I am attacked by branches, no damage to the coat and I can continue working!! Best ever!! Also looks great!

I LOVED the fact that this jacket had EVERYTHING I wanted in ONE jacket! I was pleasantly impressed to find it! I was so excited to get it on Christmas morning, BUT, it was too short armed, and too small across the back/shoulder area. So we exchanged it, waited.....BUT this next one, an XL, had only grown in the waist area! Still noticeably short in the arms, and same tightness across the back, I'm bummed to have to stay in the mens department with ugly colors, and not the same kind of jacket!!! Bummer.

I very much so liked the tight cuffs and the extended partnvoet the cuffs. Quality product.

I have already said how much I like the color, the wine is great. This jacket fits great. The sleeves have a cloth underlay, that keeps air, snow, and rain from going up the sleeve (arm) The jacket has plenty of flexabllity for moving shoulders. I especially like that when bending or moving, the jacket stays in place, no riding up. I highly recommend this jacket.

I work in wilderness therapy and live in this coat for 8 days at a time. This coat is amazing! I can hike through brambles in rain, sleet, and snow and it keeps me protected and warm! I went one size up so I could layer underneath it! Coat can be worn with or with out layers. It’s great! It also folds down smaller than I expected into my pack when I don’t want to hike with it on. That coat can take brambles and burning embers alike! In an industry where women’s wear is often still inferior to men’s you guys stand out for making solid products!!!

Great coat! Perfect for cold, wind, rain. Looks really nice with work clothes or casual. Feels great except shoulders could be a bit wider and arms a bit longer. Over all this is by far the best coat I have purchased in years.

I have to send this and the other item I ordered back because both of them run very large. The plus sizes are not a “girly” fit, more like a male body type coat. I am going to order another size in the coat. It’s not as thick as it looks but it is very warm.

Please not that I received this product free to test, however this is my honest opinion and thoughts on this jacket. I have this coat in a tan color in size 3x. I have worn in numerous times over the past 3 weeks as it has been snowy and chilly in my hometown in PA. I have also washed this coat a few times because I wear it to run all my errands and also to tend to my chickens. The coat is extremely comfortable and even at 6 months pregnant it is nice and roomy while holding snug to my body. The pockets are so soft inside! The coat is very durable and washes well. I did not notice any change in the size after washing and drying it and the size chart was spot on for my size.

I really love this jacket. I do a lot of feeding in the early morning and the evening. It's kept me warm and cozy. Its actually perfect for every day wear and use. Even after washing it it still feels great and it moves with you and doesn't ride up.

This jacket is very warm and keeps the wind out. I ordered a 1X, typically wear a 16, but I wanted extra room for bibs and heavy layers. I could have probably gotten away with an XL or XXL, but don't mind the extra room. The jacket seems like great quality with nice seams. The only thing I would like is if it was a little longer in the body to cover my backside

I purchased 2 of these Duck Quilt Lined Jackets. 1 for me and 1 for my daughter. Shipping was super fast in as little as 4 days and just in time for our temperatures dropped today. The colors are just as I expected and really nice. Great pockets and the hidden drawstring for the hoodie is good. The fit however, was a bit tighter than I had anticipated after reading reviews of people saying they were bigger than it says. The women's are true to size. I came to the conclusion that the Men's are bigger because I had also purchased one for my husband at the same time and his is bigger than the size on tag. Hence the 4 star review. I would definitely make this same purchase again in the future.

It was very tight fitted and smaller than my other carhartt jackets. I always buy the same size and the other ones are always a tad big but that’s how I like them. This one was the same size but definitely smaller and tighter. Not sure if I like the “new and improved” jackets.

I am 5'5, 141lbs, measurements 36-32-36. Wasn't sure if I should order the small or medium. I got the medium and it looks good but it's a loose fit. I could layer it with a hoodie nicely. If you want a more feminine fit, go with the small. The dark brown is beautiful in person, it's more of a warm brown than the picture online. Zipper stinks but at least it works. The sleeves ride up a bit but nothing horrible. Hood is nice and roomy.
