This is an extremely warm hat, very comfortable and soft. My father has had his for countless years, and after borrowing his a handfull of times, I knew I needed my own. <br /><br />The FR specs are nice as well; I work as an electrician in a manufacturing plant, where FR clothing is mandatory, so I can wear it while I work! It's been keeping me warm all winter ??
Runs large. Very comfy and warm enough in moderate cold. Not the most wind resistant but I'm using it indoors mostly
Unfortunately FR-rated synthetic fabrics are one to be careful of when purchasing. I was hopeful for this beanie, but after a work week under normal conditions the signature carhartt tag began melting. Come to find out the tag is not made of the Mod-Arcylic/Cotton blend but instead 100% Polyester. Keep this in mind while wearing. The melted tag can damage the beanie or your head-lamp/other head gear. I'm not very pleased with this discovery. For a brand has very durable work-wear, I'm sad to see smaller details not taken into consideration.
I ordered a flame resistant hat, and I got sent an original black carhartt hat. Just as comfy as all of them, but not flame resistant for oilfield work
My head hasn’t caught fire.

Working in a FR required area can be tough. Your outer most layer has to be FR. It is a chance for guys to take a short cut and wear normal work clothing. I make this item mandatory for my guys. I provide a voucher every year for the purchase of this warm and durable item. Can not beat the style also. covers the head and ears!
Love these carhartt beanies. I’ve always gotten the regular beanies non FR and love how they fit and keep my head warm and cover my ears as well. If my ears get cold I’m miserable. This is the first time I’ve gotten the FR beanie due to work requiring it and it fits and performs exactly the same.
This product is everything I was hoping it would be. I'm a welder so fire safety is a big thing and it is perfect for the winter time and I don't have to worry about getting burned.
