Buy them!<br />Great pair of everyday shorts. They are built to last??
Fits well in the waist but baggy everywhere else, and this is coming from someone with huge thighs. The pockets are great. Nice and useful. Phone fits in all of them so I always have a place to stash it for whatever job I’m doing. The material seems durable and well constructed so far. <br /><br />I bought different pairs of these, some in 10” and some in 11”, and they are seemingly the same length when I lay them up to each other so that’s not great. <br /><br />Wouldn’t say I’m disappointed in them but I do wish the fit was better on me.
They are just the right length for me, 5th pocket is perfect for my Iphone plus. They are a bit more money than dickies but way better fit, feel, and quality so I made the switch and couldn't be happier.
Nice shorts, the only comment I have is the inseam could be 1-2"shorter.
Best shorts ever. Topped off with the near perfect Cell phone pocket. Carhartt may want to make the cell pocket deeper for some of the newer phones, but for my Samsung S-10, perfect.

By far the best shorts I’ve even owned. The fabric is thick and strong, and the construction is high quality. There are 7 belt loops. My favorite feature is the convenient and secure phone pocket.
Best work shorts I ever tried. I have worn these shorts for about 5 years now getting on and off of heavy equipment all day long. The first pair that I bought is now just starting to wear thin in the back. I can retire them pretty soon as I have 6 more pairs to wear.
They look nice but fit just 1 size too small. I would recommend bumping up a size if you wear a belt.
Good fit, comfortable. Smartphone pocket not secure. Phone is prone to falling out. Appears the pocket should be deeper.

These shorts are very durable and comfortable. The only problem I see is their color fades after a few washes even with turning then inside out.

I like the short, it is a little long waisted and the short sometimes slip down and the crotch is too low for me. In the past, you had a rip stop short that I really liked, but is now discontinued. The shorts are good.
Pant leg too wide. Feel good overall at waste. Good loops and zipper.

I started buying my husband Carhart t-shirts and pants when we owned our farm. He used to wear out jeans and regular tee's in a couple of months. The Carhartts last him a couple of years. We retired from farming and he still won't wear anything but Carhartt's.

I had owned a couple of pairs of these and had really enjoyed wearing them, unfortunately, I put on a few pounds and had to go up in size so this year I purchased a couple more pairs. They are great work shorts - rugged and comfortable with enough room to move around without feeling restricted. Sizing is good.

I bought 3 pairs of these shorts. Exact same model and stock number, 3 different colors. One fit perfectly (a 5), one fit tight but tolerable, and one I couldn't even get around my waist (a 1). On average, a 3. The shorts made in Bangladesh didn't even get close to going around my waist while the others, made in Colombia I think, were wearable and one was absolutely comfortable. If you buy these, be prepared to return some or all of your purchase. Sizing is extremely inconsistent and varies wildly between factories in different countries.

I purchased several pairs of shorts in different colors on a visit to the US this summer and I absolutely love them. I wear them almost every day and receive a lot of compliments from friends. They are my go to shorts of choice as the pockets are large enough to hold a cell phone and wallet and my keys without losing their shape. I would heartily recommend these shirts for both work and for simply hanging out. Great product that you know will last a long time.
I spend my summer in the yard working on the lawn, in the flower beds and on the back porch. These shorts are tough, just roomy enough and very comfortable.

Well designed good shorts for work or casual wear. The material is comfortable and is as durable as you’d expect for the weight. I’ve noticed there is some variance in size, depending on where sourced, (COO). I’ve experienced the same in the Rugged Flex pants as well. They will fit you differently depending on where they are made.

These shorts have inconsistent sizing. One pair will fit perfectly, the next will be tights around the waist, and the other will fall down my behind. It's a shame that these otherwise great pants have such a variance to them.
I got two short. One for working and one for daily use to stores and around home. Great fit.
1-they are comfy<br />2- they run slim soo big boys size them up<br />3- they dont last that long!!!!!they seem too tip from the b ottom! <br />4-they dont seem too last that long i bought 2 pairs and both of them lasted only 6 months!
These short are a nice alternative to B147 (my favorite, for which I give all 5 stars.) But I don't like the synthetic flex part of the fabric. It feels hotter to me than all cotton. Won't buy them again because of that.
Bought 3 pair of these new blend shorts last summer, and notices they couldn't take any snagging or work related wear. During the second summer of wear holes wore through at no stress points. This pare didn't last two seasons. Going back to the old brands.
The pair I received was too small. Maybe marked with wrong size. Carhartt does not pay return shipping.
HEAVY DUTY BUT LIGHTWEIGHT
I want heavy fabric shorts that will last. These are great and a top pick. I have tried other companies but I always come back to Carhart for the durability and classic feel.
I do think that these shorts are durable and look good. I am very hard on my work clothes and move a lot. These shorts would be five stars if they were not so long. I like the way they hug my hips and legs, but don't like the feel of them near my knees. I'm going to try the shorter force shorts and see how that goes. Right now I buy these and pay a seamstress to shorten them.
I have close to twenty pairs of these shorts and their pant counterparts and have one complaint that is consistent, regardless of which item I'm buying. The sizing does not run true. I first tried on a pair of 34" waist Rugged Flex Dungarees in a store and the fit perfectly and were extremely comfortable. They only had two 34" waist in my inseam and I bought both pairs. A few months later I ordered three more pairs on line of the same product and size one was markedly larger around the waist, several inches in fact, one ran the same size as the other two I'd already purchased and the third was around an inch smaller than. This has continued for the past year or two with every order I've placed. No two pairs are the same and this is 100% a QC issue that needs to be addressed. The product is a good product and a good value, but customers shouldn't have to return or live with what should be a basic QC check on every product the company puts out.

Bought these shorts after going through way to many of the OTHER cargo shorts. The main button is made of brass and not going anywhere like the others that are plastic and sewn on. The cell phone pocket could not be more perfect to hold an over size phone with a case on it. BEST shorts ever. People are saying they don't fit true to size, but mine came in perfect. Tight at first but broke in after a couple of washes
I ordered these shorts for my husband and he loves them. The length is just like in the picture and he is 6' tall. These are made out of the thicker, durable material.
Don't order online as sizes vary. I couldn't find this short in OKC so I ordered online. I carefully measured my waist (twice) and ordered a size 40 just like my other pair. They are too big. I measured the new shorts and they measure 44. My shorts end up sagging even with a belt. They look sloppy and I won't order another pair and advise others not to as well.

I've been a long time wearer of carhartt products. If you are like I am you burn thru pants and shorts at a very high rate. I wear pants or shorts all week and wash on weekends so they get overused. I also wear them all day at work as a carpenter. <br />Here's my tip. Spend the extra $20 and get the double front rigby pants and cut them into shorts....they'll last twice as long!<br />They rugby is not quite as tough....but worth it in comfort!<br />Thanks carhartt....love you guys!
I bought a size 38 two months ago, and it was little tight after washing it once (they measured 37-1/2). I needed a second pair, so I bought a size 40, thinking these would be perfect -- but after washing, they measured 43-1/2.<br /><br />Carhartt has excellent customer service, so I called, and we discussed the problem -- and they offered to replace the 40.<br />We decided that the original 38 was mis-sized and was actually a 36. They thought the 40 was also mis-sized and was actually a 42. <br /><br />All I wanted was a short that measured 40 inches after washing, so we decided to try a size 38 (again). It arrived today, and after washing, it measures 42-1/2 inches (4-1/2 bigger than marked). This time I just threw them away, because I don't want to go through this size mess again.<br /><br />I did, this time, determine that they shrink only 1/2 inch when washed. I still have the slightly tight size 38, and think it's an excellent short, and I love the tarmac color. If/when my local Carhartt store carries this short, I will buy another pair -- no more online buying for me.

Very comfortable shorts that match the durability of all Carhartt products. Great price as well, these have replaced all of my other "khaki" or dressier shorts as well because they are cheaper and more comfortable.
A week after purchasing the Carhartt Men's Rugged Flex Rigby Double Front Pant and finding the 36W x 34L to be the most comfortable work pant ever, I jumped right in for 2 pairs of the shorts version for my remodeling business here in Florida. Wrong! Bad Move! <br /><br />Whatever size template is being used for the long pant it didn't carry over to the shorts, not even close, can't even button up the waist on the shorts no matter how hard I pull. Major disappointment on the heels of what was a great experience with Carhartt.<br /><br />
A good fit and is made of tough material for what I hope to be many years of use. These shorts are very comfortable to wear and have enough pockets to store my wallet and other things I need. <br />Give them a try and see for your self.

I mow lawns and the shorts are comfortable yet durable as well. Sizing is not bad either, but can sometimes run a little small.
I'm a window washer. These shorts didn't last four month. Holes where my bucket on a belt sit, And holes on thigh area from thorns snagging my shorts I guess. I expected long lasting durability from Carhart.

High quality that you expect from Carhartt. Not too baggy, and certainly not tight. I am 6'2" and 190lbs. The 33 waist fits perfect, and the stretch in the fabric make them super comfortable.

These shorts are very nice and the stretch movement is fantastic, really comfortable. Im 6.4 and slim, ordered the 32 which is my normal Carhartt size but these are definitely larger. They still fit but have to wear a belt or they slip off my skinny butt. The waist almost feels like is flairs out at the top. The length is good just sitting above the knee, the leg width is just ok, a little to slim fitting for me in general but the stretch make up for that.

I really like the way the shorts look. But, the size is not accurate, they run small by about 1.5". I measured the inside waistband. I will be sending back. This sucks because my deal will now cost me. I also ordered the cargo shorts relaxed fit in a size 46. When I measured the inside waistband it was under 41" really? Send those people who are making them a tape please. Does anyone at carhartt ever check this stuff? I can't build a house or addition for someone and have it be 5 or 6 feet off and call it good. Size matters. I have been wearing your stuff for over 40 years. This happens a lot with your stuff, please be accurate on you measurements.

I was looking for a good pair of work shorts that I could wear around town too. These shorts are a perfect fit for both. They are both casual and functional. They fit well and are the right length. The material seems very durable as well. I bought multiple pairs in different colors. I'd recommend these shorts to anyone.
Got these for my husband for Christmas. He does all sorts of yard/house work and is excited to put theses bad boys to work. The fit is perfect with some stretch.

I've worn Carhartt for 50 years. The zipper is poor quality and the top of the shorts rolls down over the belt even with a wide belt. The cotton in other shorts you've made has been more substantial.
