This goes great with my classic firm duck chore coat. I love the cinch design on this hood especially; the hood has an outer layer independent of the edge that closes down around your face. So you have the outer part that acts as a visor, and still give me close to 180 degrees of peripheral vision, while keeping the rest of my head out of the wind. I have a very similar duck coat with a detachable hood and that hood now looks pretty sad compared to this one. Great job.

I thought I ordered a "small" size (per the sizing chart). The hood I received was an "extra-large". The snaps don't align with my Carhartt coat. As such, the hood is unusable for me.
The button pattern matched my carhartt insulated coveralls. It's roomy yet snug around my face when I pull the drawstrings in. It makes a big difference up here where it's always blowing 50 mph.
Works good covers the face almost to much very warm
Fits as advertised. Because it is for 2x to 5x I washed and dried it in hot water and it made it fit my 2x coat and me perfect.

The Hood has 4 female snaps to mate to coats that have 5 male snaps.

The hood does fit on my Carhartt coat but, at first glance, it looks like it is made to cover the person's head while wearing a football helmet. Of course, this is not true. There is an adjustment cord on either side of the hood. Patience is needed to fit the hood by making an adjustment on either side, trying it on, and repeating this process until it conforms nicely and fits comfortable to the head and face. Trying to do the adjustment while wearing the hood is cumbersome at best, so that is why I stated my process/procedure above. Those considering the purchase of this hood should know that, once fitted, it is very warm and perfect for someone who needs to spend time in cold weather. The first thing to wear out will be the Velcro on the closure flap. Yes, I would buy it again, but the company just assumes the customer knows how to fit the hood without including instructions.
The hood is well made but I ordered the smallest size and it is way too tall. The top of the hood is 3” above my head. I think I could put it over my hard hat. I am looking for Carhartt replacement snaps so I can put on a 2nd set 2” lower than the original so the hood would mount lower on the jacket.
I just purchased this hood for my Carhart jacket. <br /> The buttons lined up just fine The size that I got is s-xl they only offer this in two sizes this one was supposed to be the smallest one. <br />The hood is very stiff which I’m guessing after maybe a couple of cycles in the washing machine it might relax a little bit but for now it stands above the top of my head about 2 1/2 3 inches which is a little too tall I could probably put a hard hat on and still be comfortable <br />However since I’m not in construction anymore I bought this because I’m outside putting fence post up in the snow and wind as of right now this acts like a giant wind catch. It also doesn’t fold back behind you again I’m going to put it in the washing machine hopefully it will relax enough to make work I spoke with somebody online chat through carhartt he said that after washing it If it still doesn’t relax and fit right I can return it <br />I hope this review helps other people out I couldn’t imagine getting anything bigger even if I was a bigger guy I think this would fit probably some of the biggest of people.
Terrible. Looks like a cone head with it attached to coat. Very likely will return. Looks nothing like the photo above.
I am a small woman and when I attached the hood to the jacket the hood stood up at least 6 inches above the top to my head!

The snap to hold the hood on pop of easily. I had the same hat and coat before and did not have any trouble with them staying together. Even when hanging the jacket from the hat.
Not pleased, hood too tall, may have been designed for putting over a hard hat?
The hood is a perfect match and fit. I love the pull strings for a snug fit.
I have the DUCK TRADITIONAL ARCTIC QUILT-LINED COAT i like the hood the thing i dont like is the snaps dont snap that well come on carhartt but it works very warm it has fell off yet i hope it works the snaps are in but didnt snap puting the in but there on

Received hood in a reasonable amount of time. Tried to install hood on my coat and the snaps would not stay closed. To loose. Went to ACE hardware and bought a snap kit, replaced the snaps. Problem solved. Aside from this issue the hood is high quality and looks great on the coat.

I ordered this hood #102368 in size 2XL-5XL for my Duck Traditional Arctic Quilt Lined Coat #C003 size 2XLT and it didn't fix. The snaps didn't line up...they were way off. I'm very disappointed. I wanted to give zero stars for the functionality of this hood but zero was not an option.
I ordered a coat and hood from the Carhartt store because it was not in stock at the store. When it arrived the hood did not snap onto the coat. I called and explained the problem. The person was very helpful. She asked me to take pictures of the coat and hood so the repair department could determine a fix. I was told that I would receive a call in 1-3 days. No one called or emailed. I called back. Talked to a second helpful person who informed me that he could not access the original person's information and I would get a call back to follow up. No one called or emailed. I called a 3rd time. She was also helpful but again she took my information a said I would get a call or email from a supervisor in 1-2days. No one called or emailed. I called a 4th time, she was the most helpful. She had the style # for the correct hood to fit my jacket. I asked if it I was in stock, she said it was not in stock. I just went on line and I see it will not be in stock for 4 months. Very disappointed with Carhartt.
its a lot bigger than i expected
My husband really likes the hood. It really keeps the wind out. Which <br />helps when you work in cold weather.
Great quality it’s just a little bulky and will take some getting used to.

Warm and dry Always
I'm on my 3rd Carhartt coat, and so far it's my favorite. The hood adds that extra bit of functionality to an already great product. Every coat I get from now on is being paired with a hood. :)
In the winter it's into the 40's and this will make a large difference on keeping me warm.

I had to return the hood, due to it not fitting/snapping on to the newer current style chore coat. The hood is only compatible with past styles and not this recent one.

I received a really nice Carhart for Christmas. To complete it I added a quilted hood for those really cold days. I was concerned that the snaps might not match up but they did perfectly. Nice addition
Beware when buying this hood. My coat was made in India and the hood made in Mexico. The result. The snaps barely if at all work. I can get two to snap and two won’t stay at all. This is the 2nd hood I tried to get for my coat.

I bought a brown coat and hood 30 years ago. The coat finally was frayed around the edges, but the old hood is still as strong as ever ( although I admit that it is softer now). The old hood had a snap closure at the chin - this new black hood has a velcro closure, which is much easier to connect. I fully expect this hood to last as long as the last one, which is still going strong.
It was a great addition to my jacket for snow blowing during the first big storm of the year. Kept me warm while not limiting my vision

It's a bit too big, even with a toque and hoody sweater, and I have a big head, but other than that it's a high quality piece that is perfect for keeping out wind, sleet and snow.

They switched from a 5 button to 4 button so this doesn’t fit. I don’t know why you would move to less buttons. Pretty frustrating. My jacket is just a few years old.

The snaps don't line up with the snaps on my coat so the material bunches up all weird. The hood is huge... so if you have a coat on the smaller size the hood looks and feels way too big. They really need to make more than two sizes. If you have an XL coat it might be perfect? Appears to be well made but overall very disapointed.
