102207 - Carhartt Men's Full Swing Cryder Jacket

It's a Christmas gift! I'm sure it will be fine, he's a Carhartt guy!

Was issued one while working for the last company I worked for great jacket. Had to give it back when I left so I ordered my own just came in and I will only be buying replacements once this wears out by far my favorite. Now to test it going from vermont to Wisconsin for the winter.

The jacket seems nice and toasty. It's well made. My one complaint is that the sleeves are too long. I wear a 16/32 shirt size. My arms are a little on the short size but I never thought the sleeves would be too long in a medium jacket.

I've had this jacket for 3 years, and it's still in great shape. I work outdoors and live in Minnesota. Sizing is accurate, buying your shirt size should leave plenty of space for layers, no need to size up. For casual everyday wear this jacket is comfortable with a lightweight hoodie in temps from 0 - 40°F and -20 - 15°F while working. I've put it through a rinse cycle in the wash with cold water a couple of times and it still repels water well. My only complaint is that the hood fills with snow when it's not up. When the hood is up it pulls hats off my head and it's too small to accommodate a hard hat/helmet.

My husband loves this jacket! He is 6'3" and has a 50" chest measurement. We tried this on in the store and decided to order the Tall version because he needed extra length in the arms and torso. We went with an XL Tall because it was a loose fit style, even though his measurements put him in an XXL. Very pleased with the fit! He has plenty of room to move. Would definitely recommend!

Great jacket, heavy duty and really keeps you warm. Great for keeping the wind out too!. It runs a big big on me in the arms at 5' 10" but the medium would have been snug. I get full range of motion in the arms and shoulders and does not hike up your back when crouching. This is second Carhartt winter item and I highly recommend them,

Had the previous Cryder full swing jacket. Loved it. But this replacement is not as warm, and the fabric bunches in the armpits making it uncomfortable to wear. I wish I could return it for a better fitting jacket for Minnesota winters. .

The cuffs are probably the best part about this jacket for me, just enough cover between the inner cuff and the end of the sleeve for a glove. I’m 5’6” and purchased a medium.

Nice jacket. Soft outer shell and great range of movement. Runs a little big; I’m normally a large but ordered a medium and it fits perfectly. The zip can be tricky but just have to get used to it. The navy is a bit lighter than the pictures, but still looks good. The sleeves are probably a tad longer than I would like.

Excellence in product, highly recommend the full swing loose fit, ease in movements and the warmth is incredible, unless you're going to Antarctica or the likes, this coat would keep you warm, Built tough yet flexible, absolutely recommend

I have several Carhartt still, and this one is the most comfortable for everyday use in the winter.

Looks good, fits good and is super warm. No wind gets through it. I really like it.

Quality workmanship and very warm coat as rated. The fabric is colored appropriately and a little softer than I figured it’d be, but seems just as durable as more crisp fabrics. It fits a little larger than expected, but is a “loose fit.” Nice to have a detachable hood and the secure pockets. Happy with it overall, just wish it fit as well as my last chore coat.

Great piece of gear for working on the water. I’m 6ft 190 and it fits great with or without extra layers.

I purchased 2 of these jackets - one for my Son-in-Law’s BD and my grandson’s BD. Don (sil) requested it as his old one - had for like 25 yrs was showing wear and he loved the look of this style and material!

Exactly what I wanted. I really like the non-restricting movement. The detachable hood is an added bonus.

Loose fit is perfect for man with broad shoulders. The full swing allows you to move without a snug feel. Awesome, quality jacket for work or as regular daily coat.

My husband loves the coat ! It is super warm and very comfortable! Only problem is that the zipper is very tricky. We returned the first coat because of the zipper but the second coat is the very same !

Great jacket! We live in South Dakota and the warmth is great. One thing I would change is the double zipper on the front. One zipper would work better for zipping with gloves on. Otherwise great material warmth and functionality. We have purchased this jacket previously in a large and loved it. This time we went with a large tall and fits much better. Long enough to keep the wind out. The jacket was for a six foot 190 pound guy (for reference) Definitely will buy again!

5 star across the board. Ordered L for my 5’11’’ 165lb bf, it’s perfect and can fit a hoodie under it comfortably.

This jacket is just the right amount of warm here in Nothern Maryland. I had my wife take my measurements and ordered the appropriate size based on the posted size ranges Carhartt provided. It fits perfect! When I'm out walking and moving around, I seem to wish the jacket was an inch or two longer. When I get in my truck, I'm glad the jacket isn't any longer. (1st world problems, right?) I can't image using a different jacket this winter. Love it.

My new favorite jacket. I have been able to roadtest it while shoveling snow with the temperature in the teens (single digit windchill) and I was plenty warm. The cuff design works great with snow gloves. <br /><br />The insulation works great, the wind blocking is great, and so far the water repellence is working well too. I have not done anything to test out the durability beyond shoveling snow and regular wear, but I do not have any doubts. I am 5'10", 180lbs. Medium fits me well with a little room for heavier clothes underneath if needed. I was worried if the "loose fit" was going to be bulky, but it is not.

The zipper is sub par and is hard to zip up. Otherwise the jacket is as expected.

The coat does its job fantastically. The coat performs well in rain and snow and keeps you dry and is pretty waterproof. The hood is detachable so I can put it on if i need to shovel snow outside. I shoveled snow in 5 degree weather and I felt fine, with only 1 long sleeve underneath. The fullswing feels great, and doesn’t make me feel as constrained as other coats. The fitting options on the website do a great job of giving you a recommended size.

Amazing jacket, awesome fit, super super warm, by far one of the most stylish, affordable, comfortable and warm jackets I have ever seen. I orginally bought it for spring as I thought it was quite stylish, but it has really done wonders for this crazy cold winnipeg weather. Weather here can get as low as -40 degrees celisus, and this jacket doesn't show any signs of letting the cold in. This jacket is so fricking warm, I wish I bought one sooner, it matches style with warmth and the price is unbeatable.

I love this coat so much and would give it a five star had it not had a massive hole in one of the chest pockets. I talked to customer support and they wanted to send it back for a refund. But at my job I need the coat

I had never owned a winter jacket before, but after last winter I decided to invest in a proper winter jacket. I used money I received as a graduation gift to buy the Carhartt full swing jacket. I liked it so much, I started wearing it this fall when temperatures first dropped into the 50s (considered cold where I am originally from). In November, my car was broken into (while working on research at the archives of a historical state park) and the jacket (with my debit card in the pocket) was stolen. The new jacket owner went on a spending spree with my card and was not caught, but thankfully he will not freeze this winter. When I realized I would not be getting the jacket back, I purchased another, identical jacket. I am wearing it now and its great. Better wind and cold resistance than any hunting jacket I've ever used, and similar water resistance. Also, more professional looking than the Columbia fleeces I normally wear. Great jacket. Will replace again next time it is stolen .

Bought this for my very active husband and he loves it. Unfortunately the lining on the inside slipped and causes a pinch when he lifts his arm but he’s too attached to his coat to exchange it.

This is the most comfortable jacket I own. First, it does not have a rib cuffed waist. It is more active fit, so I do not have a bunch of extra jacket material bunched up from a lack of belly. Second, The stretch in the shoulders and arms is fantastic. I have never had a jacket that does pull or ge tight in the elbows or shoulders when I move. It still feels unnatural to have a jacket not get tight or ride up. It fits like well tailored suit. It is wonderful. A major upgrade from the duck jackets I usually buy.

The jacket is great but the zipper isn’t the best.

Absolutely the best fitting jacket I've bought, love the drawstring on the the bottom of the coat to keep ot the draft out. The only thing I'd change is the material the pockets are made of, having dry skin hook on the material as I'm getting my hand out is the only draw back of this awesome coat!

Great jacket, little pricey

I bought this as a Christmas present for my son. Due to the cold weather, he received it early and loves everything about it.

It's really good. I worked with it for over a year and it never failed me rain or snow. Always toasty warm. The sleeves are problematic, but I knew that going in. If you roll them up to get them out of the way, it exposes the soft nylon type material which quickly falls apart from glove friction. <br /><br />Not a large enough problem to keep me from buying this current coat, which is my second.

My husband loves this jacket. I originally bought it for him for a winter work jacket, but he likes it so much that he didn't want to ruin it at work (he is a mason) and is using it as his regular winter coat. It is warm and looks great! (I ended up ordering an Active Jac for him to use as a work coat instead.)

Always liked Carhartt’s apparel but I’ve always strayed away cuz of the stiffness of the material… This coat on the other hand… Best coat I’ve ever owned!! So flexible and soft! No stiffness what so ever! Highly recommend!

I did not purchase one of these, but tried it on in the store. I agree with Evan M.'s review - the design/fit/warmth/functionality of the coats from 2014-2015 was superior. I bought one then and am only finally needing to replace it almost 8 years later - it was my only winter coat in that time and saw a lot of wear'n'tear. I'm going to try and make it last one more year in the hopes the design gets dialed back a bit.<br /><br />To be clear, this isn't a "bad" coat - it's just not as good the previous version.

Well made and very profesional. The size is perfect ,insulation and rain defender work great. One of the best jacket.

Overall quality is good, the zipper is a big pain in the ass, use YKK zippers in the future please, also make the hood come out a little farther because for a jacket that’s trying to be an outer layer to other layers, it doesn’t cover hoods very well. If you live somewhere it rains a lot then use an umbrella or water will seep through, jacket is good under mild rain for a short time. Take the belly of the jacket in please, not everyone that wears them has a beer belly or is fat, I don’t need enough room around my stomach to be able to fit a couple bottles of soda inside my jacket. Neck gets a little tight when you have layers underneath, but it keeps the cold air out and you kinda get used to it.<br /><br />Would recommend if you needs decent layer to keep out the wind because it does that very well, would not recommend if you’re trying to avoid polluting the environment with plastic waste (nylon and polyester).

I like the jacket

Great fit. I normally wear large shirts/coats because I have long arms and a 32' waist at 6' tall. But this medium fits me well. It would be perfect if it was built in a long, but Carhartt doesn't do that in the medium. I like the flexible material. This coat can serve as a good work coat and a nicer coat once cleaned for more formal occasions.

Fabric quality looks and feels different after wash. More impressive when first worn but not the same after wash. But still acceptable.

Would definitely recommend. Went on a cold fishing trip right after I got it and was the only one on the boat.

Absolutely love this jacket! Not worth the almost $180 price tag but definitely a solid all around jacket.

The full swing cryder jacket is really nice. The way the shoulders and elbows are made help with mobility and can really appreciate that. The one big problem with this jacket is that it's short. Many of us guys that wear this brand are big in one way or another. The fact that there is no 3XL Tall is a big down fall. If there are Tall versions up to 2XL, they should have finished the line with the 3XL Tall. This jacket is made for movement so while doing many activities the jacket will rise up on you. Being that its to short, it will rise up even more leaving you exposed to the elements. That is not good in any way. I still gave the jacket 4 stars because the fabric used, pockets and design for mobility are nice, but if you usually wear a 3XL Tall I would consider waiting until Carhartt decides to make it in the Tall version.

Have been looking for a warm durable jacket for when i am working with vehicles at my job and this is it. Moveable abs no tightness in the shoulders so it’s great i practically live in it!

Jacket is amazing, it’s the second one I’ve owned. The jacket does run just a bit short, I am average height and build, the bottom hem sits right at the belt line. That being said, two exterior chest pockets, two interior pockets and two snap hand pockets give this jacket so much storage. It’s absurdly warm, I have to wear a t-shirt when working outside or I will overheat. I would highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking for durability and comfort in a quality piece of equipment.

Fantastic quality with great workmanship. Very comfortable and warm good for Michigan winters. But the most pleasant surprise is the the coat zipper definitely higher in the last coat I had and was the reason for burying this new coat great job Carhartt.

It was difficult to choose between a Reg-Large (sleeves are the right length) and Tall-Large (body was a better length), but finally decided on the Reg-Large.

Used this very warm and comfortable jacket for work. Had many co-workers inquiring on it. Greatest jacket I've ever used for work till the zippers decided to come off the bottom. Worked them back on but they never stayed on. Really thought the build quality would've been better for the price and brand. If you're looking to stay warm and dry pick a different jacket. Returns are only good for 180 days...

Had been looking for a jacket with Thinsulate this bought this from Atwoods a year ago . Only recently with the current cold Texas weather which has set records of -1 and 0 it has really proven almost perfect admittedly with modest under layers. The longer sleeves with angle cut cuffs that keep the the wrists quite warm with gloves. My only minor complaint is while it is water "resistant" It is no where near could be used as a rainproof jacket after a stint of outdoor wear for a full day with sporadic rain, It finally soaked thru. Amazingly it dripped dried very fast. <br />I fully intend to get s second jacket in case Carhartt ever decides to mistakenly stop making these coats.

Double zipper is a bit sticky and requires you hold the two halves of the jacket perfectly or the zipper will jam.

We love these warm jackets and love the 2-way zipper. We can zip open a little when we ride, but can easily zip it closed again when working around the ranch. The sleeves are long so they keep our wrists warm. The jackets are warm!! Nice standup collar too.

Unfortunately, I had to return it because sleeves were too long and the jacket was too heavy material. I was looking for a lighter weight lined spring jacket. I need an XL size with about a 35 inch sleeve length and this was 37 or 38 length.

I had waited a long time to get a heavier coat. this one was worth the wait. I like everything about it. One minor tweak...sometimes it is hard to get the zipper engaged and it takes several tries. It works once in the track, but its a bit of a pain every now and again. That's it though...great jacket!

I love my full swing Cryder Jacket! I have lots of room to move, it is soft yet tough, and it's water resistant! I also like that the hood is removeable. The zipper was a little tough at first but it didn't take long to get used to it.

I have a long torso so I bought the XL Tall and the sleeves were a little long so I just folded them over a little bit. This jacket is by far the nicest work jacket I’ve owned. It comes super flexible and completely non-restrictive. It’s a cool style and it’s got pockets for days. Keeps warm well enough. Zippers are a little cumbersome(there are two on the main center zip).<br />A few months in and it shows no wear.

Follow the guidelines using the sizing chart and feel that the jacket is a little too thick should have went with the one size lower. Could not return it for a different size.

This coat isn't the best looking coat in the world, it's not designed to be. It attracts/holds onto lint, sawdust, dog hair and other annoying substances, but it keeps me warm when I'm doing stuff - which is why i bought it. <br /><br />The freedom of movement with the fullswing cut is exceptionally nice, the pocket space is bountiful and it's warm when you're working. Not certain it's the warmest jacket for just sitting around outside, but my guess is you're not looking to buy a full swing jacket to sit around. <br /><br />Uses: I wear it while I'm framing, working in the garage, shoveling, walking the dog etc. Pairs nicely with my insulated overalls.

Comfortable and I am able to move. Sizing is a bit off for me - medium might be a bit small, but large is too big and I usually wear a large everything. Not a huge issue and I am happy to own one. Only actual complaint is that the zipper is hard to engage and not smooth.

I’ve owned Carhartt clothing for 40 years there’s nothing better when it comes to quality. My new full swing jacket is the most comfortable jacket I’ve ever worn not to mention how warm it is. The Cryder jacket looks very professional with our company logo embroidered in it.

Purchased again because I had a coat of similar style for eight years which held up real well until hole was developed in the arms which defeated waterproof/resistance in rain<br /><br />Like the addition of it another external zipper pocket on chest<br /><br />Do not like the addition of the second zipper along the main coat as interferes with ability to zip effectively as a disabled user with poor hand dexterity<br />I know this can be practical for some people but wish this feature was disclosed in product description and possibly listed as optional as does not seem to be necessary for all users

The fit is a little big. But it is a warm, durable jacket. The detachable hood is a great option since my job will not allow clothing with hoods. I will have to use it in some wet weather to see how well the fabric is repellent, but overall, very happy with this purchase.

My only complaint is that I wish it came in a Medium Tall for my tall, lanky teen (the person I bought it for).

The fit is good, the look is good, I really like the jacket. <br /><br />I have two grievances with it: the zipper is a little hard to get started but that might be because its as large of a zipper as it is (which is a good thing). The other issue which is easily fixed, is I wished the jacket had more filling to block out wind and retain heat. I keep noticing the heat escaping when with it is cinched on me.

5’7” 190lbs got the Large <br />Arms run long but the design is smart and helps keep hands warm quick flip of the cuff and you good other wise. Runs tighter to body and less fluffy then other coats but has more flexibility then any other coat they have if ya ask me. Every function to the coat is well thought out and very comfortable. Very warm and ok for layers maybe a shirt and mid weight hoodie max. Mainly where long sleeve shirt and jacket. Temps run between 20-40F where I’m at in winter.

I got this jacket about 3 months ago. It fits perfectly and keeps you warm on cold weather conditions. Nice quality and doesn't feel that stiff at all. <br />In fact, i like it so much that i went back and got the Canyon color too. <br />Strongly recommend it.

Received this jacket about 2 weeks ago and have had a chance to use it outdoors in the sub-zero MN winter.<br />My findings on the following; movement, warmth, fit/finish <br /><br />Movement - the design of this jacket does in fact allow for unrestricted movement and mobility as advertised. Arms and shoulders are kept free to move as needed.<br /><br />Warmth - while this jacketed isn't the warmest of Carhartt's products it does provide decent protection against the cold. There is room within to add additional layers to increase the warmth. I believe the cut of the jacket was meant to provide that option.<br /><br />Fit/Finish - The stitching and fabric is in-line with the Carhartt brand. The QuickDuck has some additional built in movement as it is thinner but appears to be as robust at avoiding snags or tears - time will only tell.<br /><br />Some other items of note:<br />The hood is large and helpful to keep out the cold when I am without a hat. It did help to cinch the bungee cord to tighten the fit.

Absolutely love this jacket! I ordered a standard length size large and it fits me perfect. My arm length is considered to be short for my height. I’m 6’ tall and my arm length is 33”. I weight right at 200lbs. I also ordered a size large Tall for my friend who has a similar build, but a 35 1/2” arm length and his jacket fit perfect as well. <br /><br /> I’ve had numerous Carhartt coats, bibs, pants, shirts and sweatshirts and they all have great quality. 99% of Carhartt’s clothing is built for work and lasting. This jacket has the same quality as any other garment they offer with an addition stylish look. I would not consider any of my Carhartt clothing as sleek, but this jacket is sleek! My favorite part of this jacket is that the “full swing” is exceptional in maneuverability. 6'4" 260lbs and the XL tall is perfect. This is the best fitting, best feeling, best looking, most versatile coat I have ever owned. I am in love with this thing. Very warm, but not bulky. Material is strong and durable, but not stiff at all. I love the cuffed inner sleeve while the outer shell comes down further over my hand with that perfect curved ending. I have never been able to move and work so freely and comfortably with a coat on, as I am now. It moves and flexes with you in all the right spots. I love that I can unzip the bottom a few inches so it doesn't bunch up when I'm sitting. The zipper is a little tough to get started though. The chest pockets and the inner pockets hold a ton of stuff safely and securely, and are super easy to get into. The lower outer pockets are well built and warm for my hands if I clinch my fists, but not really big enough for anything else. I am very glad I found this one and decided to invest a little more than usual this time.

Very warm and very comfortable. The waist doesn’t move when raising my arms. I pick stuff up and put it down for a living and this jacket moves with me. My waist doesn’t get cold when when I move my arms over my head because of the draw strings. I have recommended to my co workers and would def recommend to you.

I bought this for my son for a bit dressier coat for him. His old Carhart work coat was a bit tattered. He has gained a bit of weight so I bought a size larger than normal. He could have used the next size down, but if he layers under this it will be fine. I really like the Shadow color for him. Warm and toasty

I purchased this coat for my husband, who described in great detail what he wanted in a coat. It needed to be warm, yet lightweight, pockets in all the right places, and so on.<br />He loves it even more than he thought he would! It even has a hood that allows for a guy wearing a ballcap. It covers the bill when you put the hood up. Also water resistant.<br />It's perfect for all the occasions he will wear it.

I LOVE THIS JACKET!! The material is super soft for a work jacket. The sleeve have the perfect amount amount if give in the elbow to move. The cuff is slightly shorter by the thumb vs the pinky side so its easier to use my hands. I would buy every color if I could afford it!!

The full swing cut of this jacket allows the shoulder room and range of motion needed without having to size up for a much more flattering overall fit. The quick duck fabric looks more polished in addition to offering better water repellancy and quicker drying. Very happy with the upgrades and would definitely recommend over the traditional Carhartt jacket for both performance and looks.

Very durable been wearing it constantly! Minimal wind chill in it and stays very warm when wearing a sweatshirt underneath. Could be a little more insulated though. Full swing is the best design I’ve ever encountered in a jacket!

Exactly what I wanted. A medium weight, waterproof, jacket/coat with six pockets and a hood. Put a vest or fleece underneath and you have a heavy duty set up. Size is generous. <br />Only minor complaint is front lower pockets are kind of small; surprised Carhartt thought that skimping there was worth saving a few pennies. Carhartt gloves don’t fit in pockets! But otherwise love the coat.

Usually wear XL tshirts. Im about 5' 11" For this jacket i ordered a Large Tall to give me an extra coverage below the waist. The only bad thing about Large Tall is that the Jacket arm length is a bit to big. Jacket has kept me warm during temperatures around 40 degrees F. Inside the jacket it does have the strings inside that you can make the jacket more snug around the waist and keep the wind out. The hoodie can be removed. It has two zippers that sometimes it makes it a bit hard to zip up from the bottom Jacket does stay put when you raise or swing your arms

This is a really nice jacket. It's starting to get cold here in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I'm a Framer/Carpenter and work outside in all of the elements. This jacket is exactly what I needed. I fluctuate between medium and large shirts of different brands. I'm 5'10 and 155 lbs, so I got a large. Fits perfect with room for a hoodie or layers underneath. Cant wait to work in this thing!

Its a nice jacket but it doesnt resist water much and the sleeves are really big around your wrist, not the liner but the outter jacket. I was hoping it would be a but warmer but it should be a decent jacket.

I am 66 years old and fit, 175 pounds and a hair under six feet tall. I generally wear a Medium, sometimes a Large. I was looking for a jacket to wear in the woods -- rugged and water repellent. I saw this jacket online and it seemed to fit my needs. The photo on the website said the model was 6' 2", taller than I am, and wearing a Medium. It fit him well. This made me wonder if the sleeves would be too long on me. I bought the jacket and when it arrived I found that yes, the sleeves were too long. They came to the base of my thumb, almost to the first knuckles of my fingers. Also, the lower half of the jacket was cut to fit someone with a much thicker waist -- a real Dad bod. The shoulders were fine, and the jacket is very warm with a briar resistant finish, but the Medium doesn't fit me, and I'm not prepared to try a Small. I returned this jacket and bought one from a different company whose sizing I can depend on.

The softer material makes it feel like I’ve owned this jacket for 5 years. It moves with me so the sleeves don’t ride up when I reach to grab something. I ordered the large tall and at 6’4” 200lbs it fits great. No more exposed belt line while working overhead. Keeps tools one might wear inside your waistband well hidden.

I purchased the Full Swing Cryder Jacket for my husband. He is a Land Surveyor. He loves the full range of motion he has with the jacket. He also likes that it is lightweight, but still is warm enough for a cooler day. The only draw back is that he wishes it was about an inch longer. It still covers. It's more of a personal preference for him.

(I’m not getting skinnier with age). I’m 6’1” and 200lbs. The large would fit good too but I want to have this jacket for the long haul. The zipper is a little stiff but seems okay

That jacket is great. The only thing I would change would be the removal of the two-way zipper and just use a regular zipper. I never have seen the use of a two-way zipper. It makes it occasionally difficult to get the zipper started and it seems like a long-term point of failure. Why include a two-way zipper at all?

Jacket runs short in the body and doesn't cut the wind. I traded it for an xl tall at my local Carhartt store and they couldn't have been any more rude. I regret buying it and visiting the Carhartt store in Crocker Park.

This is a very nice jacket. I work outside in all types of weather and this is the best jacket I’ve found yet. Durable, warm, and not restricting at all which are exactly what I need for my railroad job.

Good fit, true to size, and surprisingly warm and comfortable in a wide range of temps and activities... idle standing at 30°, or active hiking at 45°. Can’t wait to try it out in sub 20s.

Purchased for the SO for his birthday. He loves it. He’s typically a L in teeshirts, but the Medium fits him well. He has broad shoulders and a little dad-bod, so the size down rule worked for him. Would be worth getting your normal size if you plan on a thick sweatshirt underneath or have a belly, but the jacket is insulated. Great everyday fall/winter jacket for the midwest. Nice enough to wear out, but chill/durable enough for the garage/outdoors. Removable hood is a plus!

Upon first opening/trying on the coat, I was skeptical on the amount of warmth it would provide for Minnesota winters. Although I haven't seen sub-zero yet, it has quieted all my doubts with it's warmth and durability. With a few early snow falls and rain, the Quick Dry has held out as well. Easy to move/maneuver from a variety of climates.

Best jacket ever. I bought the male Medium version even though im female. I dislike pretty much all the female version carhartt products. Im 5’3” roughly 145 pounds but athletic in shape build not overweight and out of shape. Fits perfectly. Not too big not too small, room to wear actual clothes underneath without feeling like you are in a straight jacket without looking like you are swimming in your husbands coat. When I buy male tshirts I buy the medium as well. Im a 36C bust size 8-10 pant depending on brand. For instance silver jeans I buy a 29 but in 5.11 I buy a 10. Size medium underware.

The jacket is really great I work in cold storage. I had got a size down because they tend to run big. My only complaint is the cuffs stretched out after a month I of use. This review would have got a five star but the cuffs is a major flaw

This may be the best coat I’ve ever bought. Looks great, is comfortable, lightweight, and warm. You have room to move in it, and light rain rolls right off. I typically wear a large, but bought an extra large to be safe, as my midriff has grown a bit over the last few decades. It was the right call, because I have room to layer. Great product Carhartt!

I recently bought a Cryder Jacket for wear on my trip to Northern/Central California. I studied the features online and hoped it would do. Boy did it ever! I wore it whenever I felt the weather getting a little chilly, and it always made me feel nice and "toasty." I love the way it fits and love all of the awesome features [ie. pleated elbows, shoulders, two way zipper, everything...]. Also, being a builder, I notice quality work and the thought that went into the design of the jacket.

This has been the 4th Carhartt jacket I have bought over the years and this one is by far my favorite. The jacket moves with you in any work or activity. You can wear it out and about or out on the job. Great coat!

Only reason this didn’t get the full 5 stars is that I intended for this to be a work jacket and it’s much too nice for that. I will still get use out of it outside of work, but I had to buy a different coat to use at work. Other than that this is a great coat and is very warm. Comfortable with this over a t shirt in 20 degrees unzipped.

So far I like the coat alot. I have wore carhartts for over 40 years. The only minor issue with my new coat is the zipper is hard to get started sometimes.

I have had 2 classic Carhartt coats in 20 years. I needed one that I could keep clean and look professional and was comfortable while driving. This is the one. Add the Thinsulate warmth and the Rain Defender. This coat will always be on me or in my truck.

Two way zipper is a little tough to get started. The rest is flawless! Very warm.

I really like the jacket, but the hood needs to be smaller. My old carhartt hood fit much better. This one is just way to big and covers my eyes when I wear it.

I admittedly own a lot of Carhartt coats, jackets and sweatshirts. Just recently, I added the Cryder Full Swing to my collection. After wearing this to work on a freight dock all week in temperatures averaging around 30 degrees, I have nothing bad to say about it. The "full swing" functionality is what compelled me to purchase it. I wore only a thermal shirt under it and found it to be perfect for maintaining the right temperature in a non-active environment. The Quick Duck fabric is soft and flexible but unquestionably the full swing in the shoulder area really helps when it comes to reaching. This is one aspect of Carhartt quality that is really worth "crowing" about. In my opinion, if you're going to have one winter work coat in low temperatures that hover around the 30 degree mark, this is the one to have.

I had bought this jacket in the women’s version for myself. My husband really liked it and decided he would like to get the men’s version. The men’s version is just as nice as the women’s. There is room to move without feeling constricted. The jacket has the broken in feeling already. It’s also warm and durable. The hood is detachable I like the women’s version. It also has the double zipper which the women’s doesn’t. Both nice features. I would definite suggest this jacket to someone.

I love this jacket. It's a great fit and there are plenty of pockets and such. It feels like the quality is tremendously and I anticipate getting years of service out of it.

To date this is the best coat I have bought. Protects me from the western Pennsylvania elements during the winter. The full swing design was intended to allow maximum movement while working outside. The extra movement comes in handy while driving. I used to always have to remove my coat before driving, now I don’t bother. No more snug shoulders and uncomfortable tightness while driving.

I really like this coat. I haven't really found another coat that is quite as nice as this one. Its not the heavy coat that one would expect coming from Carhartt. I like that it don't look like a heavy work coat and can be worn as a little bit of a nicer coat. The fact that you can really move a lot in the coat makes working while wearing it very nice as well. I hadn't bought a winter jacket in over 20 years. Then I found myself needing a new winter jacket when my old one was lost. Given this was not my first winter coat purchase and not needing one immediately I had time to research my purchase. Since I buy jackets so rarely I wanted one that was going to last. Plus I am 6'2" with a 36" sleeve, so a Tall size jacket was also important. The Carhartt Full Swing Cryder jacket definitely has the name that stands for quality and durability. But what I also wanted was comfort and functionality. No surprise this jacket checked those boxes too. I am so pleased with this jacket. It feels like I've been wearing it for years right from the first time I put it on. And the Full Swing design eliminates the binding when you cross your arms like so many other jackets I have owned and have tried on. I don't know how they made this jacket so comfortable, must be Voodoo magic. The jacket is also roomy. While it is very warm, If needed I could easily wear a sweater or sweatshirt underneath and still be comfortable. To top off why I think this is the best jacket I have ever owned, let's talk about the hood. It's huge. It covers my face from rain and snow and still allows me to wear a knit cap when the temperature really drops. If I ever have to purchase another jacket, it will definitely be a Carhartt.

Great jacket

Absolutely best jacket I have EVER owned! I debated for months between a Columbia or Carhartt jacket. This was well worth the purchase. 23 degrees out this morning, I wore a t shirt, long sleeve thermal and this jacket, and was warm and toasty. I highly recommend it. The breast pockets are a great feature. The double zipper was kind of tricky at first but proved to be an amazing feature as well.

Perfect fit. I bought it as a Christmas present for my boyfriend who is a contractor. He prefers hoodies because he can move in them and hates restriction. He was skeptical when he opened the package, but when he tried it on he fell in love with it! Perfect for not to freezing AR weather.

I bought this for my son and he has said repeatedly how much he likes it. It’s comfortable and warm. He especially likes the interior knot cuffs on the sleeves. It took us a minute to figure out the zipper though. Some instructions would have been helpful. We worried that we were going to break it because it was stuck and very hard to disengage.

Putting on for the first time, feels exceclient. Easy to move , like it's all ready broke in .<br />Warm jacket , looks great , good pocket depth .<br />Great hood when needed .<br />Definitely a great jacket.<br />Would recommend this one .

This jacket is so comfortable and warm! It has great movement so I never feel restricted while wearing it. Highly recommend. I am a small female but I like my jackets to be bigger, and the Men's small fit exactly how I hoped.

I bought this jacket working in Washington State where it snows and rains, it keeps the water out and you warm. I do construction work, the jacket is mobile and durable. Could not ask for a better jacket for winter.

Only had it a short time, but it’s a quality coat. Warm, but you’ll need some under layers if it’s really cold outside. Soft elastic cuffs on the sleeves are a great touch. Material feels very durable. Only negative I have is that the zipper isn’t the easiest to get started, but it’s probably just something I need to get used to. This coat is slightly longer than the typical Carhartt work jacket, which is also nice. Very happy with it.

I have had this jacket for over 2 years now and love it more every day. It is very warm and super comfortable with no break in needed. I am a professional remodeling carpenter and it has held up great to everyday wear in northern Illinois winters. Have even considered buying a second to keep nice! Outstanding product!

This coat is the best Carhartt I have owned in the last 20 years. It is very warm but not bulky and there is plenty of movement. Typically Carhartts are a little tight around my chest and shoulders forcing me to go the next size larger. Not this coat.

With just a t-shirt on underneath the jacket that i purchased has kept me warm in -20 degree wind chill and during freezing rain, the rain doesnt freeze to the jacket. Aditionally during rain, it does a great job repelling it. The description may say it will repell rain in light conditions but i have work it in cold thunderstorms and not a single drop of water has came through. the jacket is light weight and moves with you very well. Overall, the jacket has been wonderful. would highly recommend buying it.

Easy to move around in and warm. The zipper is little stiff and will need some breaking in.

This coat is really nice. It goes lower on the back to cover more. No band to make it rode up. My husband loves it. It’s got looks with the Carhartt protection.

Awesome jacket? Would have given 5 stars but having issues with getting the zipper started, slows me down. Thinking the zipper was sewn on too close to the metal starting piece??

Purchased this jacket earlier in the season knowing it was going to get cold and it was a good thing I did! Through shoveling snow and working out in the cold this jacket has been fantastic. I'm 6'4 255 and bought an XL Tall and can say that it's roomy and comfortable no matter the conditions.

The Cryder Jacket is a very nice functional jacket and true to size, i typically like to leave room for a hoodie layer under the jacket and it still allows full mobility with another layer.<br /><br />My only gripe is the outer fabric clings to ALL animal pet hair. sometimes looks like i am shedding.<br /><br />great jacket otherwise and would recommend this jacket

Returned since it was too small

Bought it for my son who works outside in Central Idaho where the winters are brutal. He loves the extra room to move while cutting wood or shoveling snow, etc . He was surprised how warm it is since it is so thin not bulky like his Artic. He says it's not as warm as his Artic but close. He is very happy with it

The best thing I like about my jacket is the movement that it allows. However the zipper requires some work to get it to zip.

I bought the jacket for my Dad who is hard to fit. He’s a big fellow and he’s muscular. So finding a coat to fit an overweight muscular man can be challenging (kind of like an NFL Lineman). He wore out his old Carhartt Coat riding his bike year round in the SE Michigan weather. So it saw snow and rain and wind. It fits him well and holds up, even though he’s not swinging a hammer for work. <br />Thanks!

I love this jacket! I needed something with a hood that offered moderate warmth with room to move and was water resistant. This jacket hits all the marks. It's easy to move in and has pleanty of pocket space. Added bonus is it's a handsome looking jacket. I highly recommend this product!

Great jacket all around. I love it. Great price. Saved me hundreds of dollars on new jacket. “WARNING”...IF YOU ARE IN A COLD CLIMATE like me....this jacket is ok by itself between 40-30 degrees F, but anything colder than 20 degrees F, you will need to add layers and bundle up. It will not keep you warm if you are doing activities for a prolonged period time outdoors.<br /><br />I truly wished they made an artic weather version of this jacket with a warmer lining so I don’t have to layer up. That is my only dislike...otherwise it is AWESOME for the price.

It was very comfortable to wear but my husband is short so sleeves were too long and the tail in back hung wrong for his height so I had to return it. Would recommend it though. Really comfortable

This is my every day wear. Between yard work, hunting, working on the family ranch, and just heading to the store this jacket has seen me through. I'm 6'6" and often have issues with jackets riding up when I'm moving around but the full swing technology is great!

It was a nice jacket but the sleeves were too long so I'm returning it.

Comfortable and very warm. Be advised that Carhartt jackets, especially this jacket runs larger than normal. I have warn an XL in shirts, jackets and sweatshirts for many years, but the XL Carhartt is WAY too big. I went with a large and it still has some room for layering, but is a good fit.

Great jacket for my use wearing everyday and on the farm working with animals. Recommend working on the farm when cold and your arms need to flexible.

I bought these for all my electrical employees. They work in the weather hot and cold so its important to have some warm attire they can wear. In the past, jackets got in the way, these move incredibly well and the tail in back helps them keep the weather out of their pants. This jacket is very comfortable, feels already broken in and is not stiff at all. It moves with you very well. My only gripe is the cuff length on the sleeves. I wish they had made them normal and not extended the length on the top of the hand. I find this a bit annoying and fold it under most of the time. The jacket is fairly warm, and big enough to layer for the colder days, without being so big that it is baggy when worn over just a shirt. I would probably buy it again if and when I wear this one out.

Purchased one for my husband and one for my son. They are both over 6 feet tall, one 6'3" aprox 160 lbs got the tall large the other 6'1" aprox 200 lbs got the tall xtra large. They both loved the jackets they said fit perfect,they were comfortable and warm. Both work in construction trade.<br />very pleased with purchase

I liked the look of the jacket. I used the Carhartt sizing survey and followed the Carhartt sizing recommendations and bought the medium full swing cryder jacket in shadow. The jacket looks good, material is top notch and zipper works perfectly. When I tried on the jacket I thought it look pretty good on me so I decided to take off the tags and wear it out to take my kid to a piano lesson. I walk outside and I’m warm the jacket fits nice and tight. When I get into the car I immediately notice the material all bunched up in my armpits. I don’t take too much notice of it initially but after sitting in the car driving for 7 minutes I’m starting to get a bit bugged by that bunched up wrinkled material in my armpits. I took of the jacket when we got to the lesson and threw that cryder jacket into the back seat where it stayed for the rest of my journey. When I did get home I made sure to get the tags back into the pockets. The coat looks good but bunched up in the armpits. Go bigger

Warm even in Chicago (so far)

The jacket arrived quickly and in perfect condition. It was to be a Christmas present for our grandson who is currently deployed overseas. At the last minute he asked that we not ship it to him, but keep it until he returns home. I sent our soldier a card with a picture of the jacket in it and that will have to suffice for now. We are very pleased with the jacket and really can't wait until he can model it for us! My husband tried it on and loved it!

Lightweight, very warm. Boyfriend loves it! Still super flexible so he can move when working outside or in the garage.

Great Jacket, but it is not at all water repellent. It's thick enough that it won't soak through in light rain, but the outer duck soaks up rain readily.

When you buy what you think is a quality carhart coat for $159 you do expect the zipper to last more then the month of November and half way trough December <br />The carhart products are getting to be a waste of money <br />And will never buy ever again

The Cryder jacket fit perfectly, just the way I expected it too.

I haven't had a really cold day with snow to test it, but after receiving it, I tried it on and it fit with enough room to go over a additional layer of clothing if needed. The first day that he temperature got into the low 30s I wore the coat and was warm as toast.

This is my favorite jacket I own. Very comfortable, warm and sheds rain.

I bought the Cryder for my husband but the length was too short. He wanted it to be a bit longer so we had to return it. The arm length was good though. It also wasn't as heavy or warm as he needed it to be. We bought the Sandstone Sherpa lined jacket because it fit his needs better. Overall a good jacket if you don't mind the length.
