The FR Full Swing Quick Duck Coat features:
First class outstanding jacket. Easy to move my arms. No restrictions whatsoever in anything I want to do because it is built so well. It is warm and just fantastic. But I just have one giant giant beef against it. It does not have that zippered pocket on the upper left like the lighter version does. So so remiss of them not to have it. Other than that it would have been the ultimate jacket. But they did fail in that one point of not having the zippered pocket on the outer upper left chest.
I really like the jacket but the zipper is cheap made and nothing like the zippers on my other Carhart jackets and coveralls. It is also hard to use. I'm afraid the zipper will fail long before the jacket is worn out. I have always purchased Carhart products because of their quality, but the zipper on this jacket certainly does not live up to my expectations.

Excellent winter coat , the coat moves with you when your working and the wind doesnt cut through it.<br />Im a petroleum transport driver so the fr is required at some loading facilities. I would recomend the coat it was 5 dergrees with 20 below wind chill and the coat kept me nice and warm.
It would be nice if Carhart put the heavy duty zipper on this jacket like they do they’re non-FR jacket I have both of them the black one and the FR and the zipper on the FR is kind of chintzy for what I’m paying in price
Favorite Coat is so comport,utilitarian,durable ,a first responder respected favorite gear I want . I was sold on the Great Button and Zipper closure. But there’s much more . My go to .
This is a well made coat. It’s perfect for the winters here which can vary from mild to occasionally bitter cold. <br />I also like the fact it can handle some wet days as well. <br />Great purchase, worth every penny

Fits my husband really well, and it is a very nice looking coat. Because we got it at the end of winter, haven't really had a chance to test it out in cold weather, but it looks great and seems like it is well made and looks like excellent quality. More stylish than I would have imagined.

Perfect in every way. My only wish is that it had a vertical zip pocket on the chest for my cell phone. I have the same jacket but in the lighter weight version that has a zippered chest pocket that is very handy. The “Full Swing” cut is as close to perfection as one could hope for.<br />Thank you.<br />Richard
I've had this coat for about 2 years now, I wear it everyday November thru March in the Midwest here. It's been a great coat, it's held up well. It has recently started fraying at some edges here and there but I guess what do you expect, it still works and looks great though. I ordered in large tall, and the coat was HUGE. I'm 6'3" 180lbs,and the coat fit like an XXL in the gut. The length was ok, I'd prefer a little longer yet but $30 at the local seamstress I had it taken in probably a good 3 inches around the waist when I first got it. There's a seam up the back so it worked out well. Anyway, it's not for severe cold, you'll want to layer, but for 98% of situations I have felt adequately warm.
Sizing. I have a 49 inch chest and 40 inch waist 6' 2". When I bought the coat based on chest measure the overall fit was very very loose and for my height shorter than I like. For this design coat I would go with your waist measure as your guide. Lot of flex in the coat and fit very well when I stepped down in size from STD 2XL to XL Tall instead.
I just hope that Carhartt is still making this coat in ten to fifteen years when I’ll need a replacement ??

I bought this for my husband and he fell in love with it as soon as he put it on! It isn’t perfectly rainproof but it stands up well in the rain and is warm and lightweight! Would definitely buy again.
This jacket showed up in good time. This thing is epic!! So comfortable and warm. Looks amazing too! Ordered the matching hood for it which was important to me. Gotta wool head cover with attached face cover. All goes together very well. Couldn't be happier. If you're gonna wear it in the snowy weather, you'll still need layers, but it looks and feels so good, another layer ot two won't matter. Will still be super comfy. Got mine a size big cuz I like it that way and couldn't be happier!! Love my investment!

Awesome coat. I usually wear a 42L jacket at 6’-1” 200 lbs a large in this jacket fits really well. Wish it had a vertical zip front pocket for my phone, but you can’t always get what you want according to Mick. Full swing is the way to go.
Very comfortable and warm up tp -50c in Canadian Oilfield winters. Only complaint when it snags against something the fabric continues to wear excessively in that area.30 years in the oilfield and best jacket i have owned.
I’ve not had the need to wear the coat yet, but one can tell from fabric and appearance, it’s been made to withstand the elements and last. I served almost 25-years in the US Army with multiple deployments—clothing quality matters, especially in austere and demanding environments. You can tell this Carhart jacket is dependable and really looking forward to putting it to the test. Love the look and feel as well. And, special thanks to Carhart for caring and supporting our military!
Always had wanted this coat and had gotten it for Christmas. This coat is amazing! Feels already broken in, mobility is truely full swing, can lift my arms straight up without the bottom of the coat lifting with me. Im a welder by trade so naturally I need the FR and so far its held up great to sparks, they bounce right off! And lastly its great in the cold, always kept me nice and warm and dry working outside. Overall this coat is my go to outerwear!
Great coat with the exception of the pockets. I ordered a 3XLT and the pockets are too high up for the length of my arms.<br /><br />Otherwise an excellent coat.

Kinda cold when in the 10’s and 20’s. Layer up at colder temps. Lots of movement. Favorite winter jacket ever.
Carhartt sizing on all jackets is double the listed size. A Large fits like a XL-XXL. Huge gut huge shoulders- not representing a true Large. The problem is for anyomne who is Tall. The Tall sizes start at (L) to (XX-L), they do not make a (M) medium Tall. This rules out any chance for a true Large size person to buy Tall sizes. If you are Tall and wear size M-L you will have to look at another manufacturer. Carhartt will be HUGE on you!
I love this coat keeps me warm in the winter I just wish the snaps on the hood that I bought to go with it worked right. It was such a disappointment because the coat is such a great piece. I wouldn’t recommend buying the duck hood that snaps on the coat until Carhartt figures the snaps out. But the coat fits true to size and top quality
Good jacket.<br />Comfortable without bulk. Easy reach without sleeves being too short.<br />Weight of jacket sits up around back of neck and shoulder, for me this is a plus.<br />Front pockets unlined, would be nice to have square pocket in front.<br />That would give it the extra lining needed.
This coat is awesome. Feels way lighter than my Carhartt Bartlett Jacket. Two thumbs up! I’m super happy with the Jacket. Using this FR Jacket for work. The only complaint I have is, I paid for two days shipping and it came 5 days later.. I’m 5’6 160 bought a size Small and fits well with a TeeShirt and longsleeve work uniform underneath it . I notice carhartt jackets run big.
The fit and flexibility of the Full Swing jacket I cannot express how nice it is. Needs to be tried on and worked in. As an electrician our company bought us all FR coats and someone mentioned Full Swing. The extra pleats in shoulders and elbows are great to work in, nothing moves no readjusting jackets. Sleeves especially, stay in same spot no matter how far I reach. This is so nice in the field working and has plenty of pockets. Only downfall is it’s not made in the USA. Come on Carhartt we need job in America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this coat. It is heavy and keeps me warm during the coldest winter Wyoming/Utah/Idaho/Nevada days. No binding up, I can move around freely doing my work. Roomy enough for layering. The elastic cuffs, the zipper that zips right to the top, and the drawstring waist work good to keep the wind out. I'm very happy with this coat.
I have worn Quick Duck jackets before and can attest to their durability, flexibility, water resistance, and warmth. I stepped it up to flame-resistance and Full Swing. Wow! Awesome! I can't tell a difference with the flame-resistance...which I think is a good thing. The Full Swing sizing definitely helps out. It still fits close in other areas, which keep the jacket warm and not so bulky that it gets in the way. <br />Great job, Carhartt.
Good stuff
The jacket is warm... I work nights and I've worn a thin fr shirt under with this jacket and have stayed warm in 28° weather with wind chills without thermal base layers. The movement in this jacket is amazing no matter which way you bend theres no pull or tension. The fact that the collar stays up is big plus for warmth around the neck blocking the wind. Now there are some drawbacks the sleeve/ wrist are where the bottom of your gloves will be go inside the jacket which is good for warmth but bad if your gloves are oily. That can be resolved by getting gloves that have big cuffs so it goes around it rather than inside. Now the cinch on the inside of the jacket that runs across the middle back is an issue the cinch stoppers are cheap when tightened they don't stay put which can be resolved by making a knot but then it comes to the other issue every once in a while you will feel pressure cause of it. The blue looks good and better if you do happen to get it dirty not add noticeable
Great fit, the best I've seen in any coat. The only thing I would change would be to give it a regular fold down collar.

Haven’t worn it to work yet but it seems sick. I was sweating wearing it in the house. The movement in it is like nothing else. You can hardly tell ur wearing it. Fits one size bigger. I would normally wear an XL, but bought this in a L because of reading other reviews. Fits perfectly.
My Fiancée bought this Jacket for my Birthday. It's something I really needed and didn't want to spend the money on. She was unsure of my sizing and went with Reg XL due to my height and weight. I'm 6'0 and 260 lbs. It was a perfect fit, vs the Tall XL she was going to get. I'm between L-XL so she played it safe and got the bigger size. It's very roomy, full swing effect as it advertises and pretty sturdy. She got me the Navy color and chose it vs the brown because it won't get dirtier quicker and because it's more designer looking. Girls. I do love the fact that the bottom doesn't sitch at the waist when raising your arms, they jacket won't pull up. It looks great on me and she loves it on me, so this is a happy birthday guy.

Fits great. Doesn't pull in the shoulders when you move, which is awesome. I do wish the pockets were positioned a little lower for comfort when you put your hands inside. Also for the price, it should include the hood. Wish they made it in Black.
Purchased this for my father for Christmas, and it is now his favorite coat. He is normally between an XL and a L, and I got him a L given Carhartt can run a bit larger in their men's clothing (He's about 6'0, 200 lbs). He says he can wear a thin shirt underneath and doesn't feel a thing in the cold. The bottom back is adjustable for length, which is great depending on how tall you are/if your bottom is sensitive to the cold. The pocket location is great as well!
I got the brown version. Looks great, feels great and is warm. I’m 5’11 and 178 lbs. Medium was the right fit for me.

I've worn Carhartt in the past but needed an FR jacket for work. This coat is amazing. I haven't worn it for very long, but I'm already in love.
This jacket runs true to size and is very comfortable. The quality looks good so hopefully it will hold up.
I am 6'2". The jacket fits well. However, unlike the regular jackets I find the bottom of the jacket to be unusually wider than regular strait bottom run jackets. I assume this is part of "Full Swing" line. I assume this is for a freedom of movement. Good Quality. Four stars as I have not yet fully used it to experience the "full swing" feature.

This coat does just about everything, flame resistant, water resistant, and the canvas helps stop the wind as well which makes it really warm even on cold windy days. I work outside in all types of weather and need FR protection. The only thing it doesn't have is a drink holder;)
Highly recommend! This coat is warm and has lots of room to move. The full swing is a great added feature. Pockets are large and built to last with quality stitching. I’m 6’2” 180 and order a large tall and its great and fits a flannel well underneath.

Awesome! This is by far the best work coat I've ever owned. You can actually move freely in it and it is super comfortable.. Reach up, swing a hammer without restriction. I'd totally recommend this coat.

Love this coat! it looks good and because of the quick duck, it doesnt even look like a work coat! The full swing is amazing! So much room to move!!!
I purchased this coat and I am very happy with it. The coat runs a little bit big which is perfect as you can fit extra layers under it for the colder days. So far I have only used it in 30degF weather and it was plenty warm. I have not had a chance to wear it in cooler weather. But overall I am very happy with it.
Wadded up into a terrible mess
The jacket is sized at least 2 sizes too big. I ordered a large tall. Read tall. Not I want to feel better about myself, but don't want to lay off the biscuits and gravy so I hope carhartt will give me the illusion of being able to fit into a normal person's size. <br /><br />Also, it seems the only tall part of the jacket is that they made the sleeves long, and I mean long. The overall jacket length borders on a midriff bikini top. Seriously, you need to work on proper sizing.

The fitting was just perfect. It does what it describes it will do and I just love it. I wear it at work and I wear it to go out. I feel like the prices doesnâ??t even cover its value of the awesome jacket
Haven't had chance to wear it in cold, so I don't know its cold resistance yet. I'll wait for the winter months to come to see its cold performance at below 30 degrees Celsius.<br /><br />It feels so light and the material quality looks amazing. The looks of the coat is like a casual coat, so you can wear at your daily life.
Zipper is very cheap and looks like it will break
I have been wearing this coat in Northern Utah testing it against the cold and snow. It works great! I am very impressed with the water repelling quality and how warm it is. The water beads up instead of soaking in. Give it a good shake and all the water flicks right off. It runs slightly large, which is a good thing. You can wear a fleece pullover or sweater under it on the REALLY cold days (haven't needed yet and temps were in the mid-teens and windy) and not feel super bulky (nor like you need to run around yelling "Ralphy!!!")

This jacket is exactly what I was looking for! I needed a flame resistant cold weather jacket for work. The rain resistance was a big plus! Some specific features that I appreciate: 1) the sleeves are long enough to fit (I'm 6'4" and sleeve length is often an issue); 2) interior waist gather keeps out cold drafts; 3) it is long enough to cover my backside; 4) it is heavy enough to handle the elements.
I've never owned a Carhartt before and I see now why so many people get them. I personally have never purchased a jacket this expensive in my entire life, but I do view it as a great investment. By far the warmest jacket I have ever worn in below zero weather. Chicago weather sucks. I wish they had this particular jacket in black so that way I can have one for work and one for my personal use. I find myself wanting to wear this jacket around all the time, but I worry about the chemical smells from the various industrial plants I work out of emitting from my jacket. It's pretty rugged and I have no complaints really. Like I said before it's been such a great investment.

Best fitting CHartt jacket I've owned. Extremely comfortable and more form fitting than most other CHartt jackets. The Full Swing backs are outstanding and great for moving around, climbing ladders and scaffolding and does a decent job of keeping out the cold in early winters in the Canadian North. I'd gladly buy another!
