Outstanding hoodie! I ordered a large, usually wear XL but the large fit perfect! Very warm, best money I’ve spent on clothing all year! The only thing I don’t care for and it’s a minor detraction, is the pocket inside the hand warmer pocket, it snags my fingers sometimes.
Just perfect fit for 30” chess width and 74” reach people.<br />The only thing the inside phone pocket need to be 1” bigger to fit bigger phone.

Very well made but wanted a thermal knit lining not a soft lining. This farmer uses the older jacket over carhart insulated bibs and vest. Guess I will have new cuffs on old clothes! Returning new one but only because of my likes. Good product !

and here’s why I gave two ?? <br />Pro’s-loose fit we’ve all come to expect and love<br />Outside seems smooth and likely may shed a light sprinkle. Noticeably heavy and thick just as I’d hoped.<br />Cons-pilling like crazy, I’ve had Amazon basics or Hanes hoodies that held up better. And to be clear I’ve worn it only indoors while working at my computer for maybe a total of like 40 hours, yet to even wash it as I’m scared it will just dissolve.

Sweatshirt looks nice and is warm. I don’t like the material on the inside, fuzz everywhere. Hopefully goes away with washing them but otherwise a good shirt. I wear XL t shirts but ordered the sweatshirt in large and it fits perfectly

I ordered a medium according to the Carhartt size chart and it was way too big. I returned it easily, but they did not have the same color I ordered (black) so I had to get a differant color. It's heavy weight and is warm.

Pretty nice, but while getting a large (I normally wear medium) has the main torso of the hoodie nice and large, the arms are a bit short and the hood is too small. The hood being too small is a bit of a problem seeing as how one of it's main features is that it's water resistant.

Awesome but....<br />The inside of these products sheds something awful. Had to wash and dry 3 time and use a lint roller just to put a halt to the problem. <br />The drawstring are from the 1960's . To replace them with something modern you will have to cut a hole in the hood to remove the string because it's sewn in the hood <br />My #1 problem is there isn't anyway to differentiate this hood from other Carharrt Hoodie is because they stop putting the "Rain Defender " logo on the sleeve on the left side anymore. <br />This is how I became aware of Rain Defender when I saw it on the lower left sleeve of guy at a construction company.

My 6th Carhartt heavyweight sweatshirt going back over 30 years. I still wear the first one. Even though I live in East Tenneessee, I wear them all winter long. I rotate every day. They run slightly large, just slightly.

A heavy weight sweatshirt, I ordered an XLG which was too big, fortunately it’s 100% cotton and it shrank down to XLG when I washed in hot water and in a height heat dryer.

The rain defender is an excellent hoodie. I wear then riding my motorcycle. Really cuts the wind. Also very long lasting. I have had one almost eight years. Still going strong. If they were available in a heathered blue I would buy a couple hundred of them for my whole company.
Not as soft as some of the other Carhartt hoodies i have, but it is still comfy, and it's water proof. That softness rating is shown in the quality rating that was SOOOO close to full 5 stars. But non the less, I still love the hoodie.
The tall sizes are perfect for any tall guys. The extra 2 inches in the body and the sleeves are great, and after buying one, I plan to buy many more.

Fits well, very comfortable. Rain defender tech works pretty well. Only downside is the hood. Hood is a little small and tends to bunch up on the neck. Despite the hood I will more then likely buy another one.

Carhartt must have switched out the material they were using in the past. This set of rain defender hoodies were not protective from rain at all. Our linemen went back to using their older warn out hoodies because they are made of a better material. The rain defender logo that was on the sleeve on our previous sweatshirts were not on the new order. We will probably start looking at other brands for rain defender hoodies.

I am a screen printer and the Rain Defender hoodies shouldn't be screen printed. I used a premium vinyl and so far, so good. I love these.
Absolutely love my heavyweight hoodie. These things last forever, my oldest one I still wear is about 7 years old, yes its a lot thinner them it was new but it still keeps me warm. I own 5 of them currently an will not buy another brand, I've tried others but they are made to cheaply to hold up.

Part of my high rating for the Rain Defender hoodie I bought is for the color, which now is discontinued. It is a unique deep dark green-blue. I like it because it's unique and bold and doesn't show dirt because it's darker. I'm not sure I would buy any of the current colors because they are pretty plain. Anyway I wear it most days. They heavy weight comes in handy and the rain repelling aspect as I live in Olympia, WA w/all the PNW rain. I almost bought a second just like it but cat hair sticks to it a bit, perhaps due to that Rain Defender coating, so I thought maybe I'll also buy one that's not a Rain Defender and alternate. The sleeves are nice and long on me even though it's a small. I'm a woman just under 6' and women's stuff tends to be too short in the arms, though I haven't tried Carhartt women's stuff. I figure that'd be a pricey gamble. Anyway it's good quality and heavy weight. I just wish they wouldn't discontinue the more unique colors but perhaps not enough people agree w/me.

Quality on this item has gone down a notch or two over the past few years. Still a great item but not what it was. My wife bought me my first sweatshirt a couple of years ago and this winter I added three more. When my new ones arrived I thought I ordered the wrong item. Not as thick, not as water repellent, not as durable feel, doesn't wash as well. This is a hard review because without the previous version I would be raving about this item but knowing how much better it used to be made me a bit disappointed in what it is now.

My husband and I both LOVE the Rain Defender Sweatshirts! They are super comfortable and great for outdoor weather. We did need to exchange my husbands large for a medium as the style ran large on him. I purchased a men's small and it fit just the way I wanted--a little roomy but that's what I wanted. Return process was super easy.

I work on a cold loading dock all night in the northeast and with this sweater and a hat, I’m all set. Love the little pocket inside. This is the only sweater I’ll buy moving forward. Get it. You won’t be disappointed.
I love the sweatshirt, absolutely love it. The only reason for 4 stars instead of five is the size. It says loose fit right in the description. I bought the same size as another one I have that is not described as loose fit and this one is smaller.

My husband works in construction supply, which has him outside a lot, and occasionally in some not so pleasant weather. He is also a volunteer firefighter, so these are great for him. They really do keep him dry and warm. I think he has 4 or 5 of them now. They wash just as nicely as the other sweatshirts, they just take a little longer in the dryer, which is understandable given the thicker weight. I will keep buying these for him. They're worth the money!

Roomy, warm, and dry. Worn while snowblowing, and clearing snow off buses with roof rakes. Anyone that has done that knows snow blows back onto you, soaking your outer layers. This pullover never got soaked, snow and water droplets just brushed right off.
I work outside all year around and this winter I purchased the rain defender sweatshirt and it worked out great . Warm , durable , and still allowed alot of movement for construction and labor .

Real drop in quality since changing countries where the material and sweatshirts are manufactured. The shirts are softer now and not as durable. They do not repel water very well anymore. Also, they shed material very badly on the inside. The strings get lost in the hood now too. Very disappointing.

This is a well made and heavy duty sweatshirt. My 17 year old son wears it non stop to do his job where he is lifting pallets from trucks and stocking shelves. Since then, we’ve bought another one. Totally worth the price compared to other sweatshirts at the same price point but cheaper material.

It's nice and warm; works well as a wind break. I'm disappointed in how much the fabric sheds on the inside. My glove cuffs and shirt get covered in little bits of colored fuzz, every time I wear this, even after a wash. Perhaps the shedding will lessen as I wash it more, though I try not to wash it much to preserve the water repellency.

I have two rain defenders. I highly recommend the 1/4 zip up. It’s much easier to put on. They should design the original to have a bigger opening to pull over your head.

Bought the Rain Defender to wear in combo with bibs for ice fishing on some tough very windy lakes, the temps with wind chill below zero made conditions bad but I bought a size larger then normal did proper layering and I never put my parka on the whole day. Best benefit was large hood and pocket these made the Defender a beast. Thick and well constructed met every expectation and more!

I’ve had the zipup version for work and it is absolutely amazing. I got the tidal colour for home and the heavyweight rain defender hoodies are the thickest hoodies you can buy. It’s like buying a hoodie in the 90’s before everyone cheaped out and preferred minimal effort while raising the prices. I’m 5’10 170 lbs and got the medium. Didn’t expect the pocket to be so wide since the midweight version is skinnier which i think looks better but big deal. Also the hood is much smaller on this tidal model for some reason

Very pleased, the material is very thick, and you can just feel its good quality. It's not one of those cheap hoodies you get for free. Super happy with the stitching etc. You get what you pay for. I think the rain defender stuff is nice but I'm sure will wash out after a few washes so I'm not expecting much there. This is just a quality review the fit on the new sweaters is very off, narrow in the shoulders and tight in the waist a slimmer fit than the original loose fit. I used to wear a small, and I'm a large in everything else clothing wise. Now I order a small and it fits like a medium in the chest a small in the shoulders and a slim fit large in the sleeves. I'm confused and will have to eventually try a medium and large out, to figure out if that was a defective fit or I'm going to have to change sizes loving forward. STILL THE QUALITY IS THERE, Repels water like no other and definitely warm when it needs to be

I really like this hoodie. It is thick, and also has some weight to it. Definitely can feel how thick it is when you put it on, but it is very comfy and after some wear it really starts to settle in. <br /><br />Nowadays all the hoodies are ranging from $55 for any name brand store. But if you want one that is strong and durable for great conditions, this is your one. I have not tried any of the lower/non-heavyweight hoodies are, but I would expect them to be as spectacular if you want something not as thick and heavy.

I’ve purchased these sweatshirts many times over the past few years. They aren’t as heavy as my past purchases. There was a lining inside the past sweatshirt that I believe was like a nylon or silky material. That sweatshirt was heavier. My son wears these sweatshirts to work and has been for years. He feels the same about the weight of the sweatshirt. Disappointing that it has changed.

Bought my first carhartt hoodie last year at this same time. Wore it a few times last winter and stored it for six months. Have worn it again this year off and on for the last month of so. The zipper has failed on it shredding apart near the bottom. It is now useless and I've barely worn it. At the price I paid last year for it I expected to be wearing it for years. Totally bummed out to say the least. Poor quality for the money I say.

Heavy warm sweatshirt which is exactly what I was looking for. Rain defense is a nice feature for quick trips out with the dogs in light rain/snow. Holds up well although the grey has pulled a bit where the navy and green have not. The grey also shed more at the beginning (wash with other things with caution at the start until it’s done shedding little lint balls from the inside!). Overall I love them and live in them most of the time!
Carhartt Rain Defender heavyweight sweatshirt is our go to here in South Dakota. They are light enough to move around and work in. Yet, heavy enough to with stand the harsh elements and frigid temperatures we encounter. We buy them every year, not because they wear out. Simply because you can’t have just one. A must have for anyone working outside in the cold weather. I swear by these sweatshirts. The size runs true for a sweatshirt designed to be worn as an outer layer. I buy the tall version now and they remain true to their original size after years of washing. Some of my oldest ones from 4-5 years ago are still warm and stay in the daily rotation. I work outside all winter long in northern Indiana, near Lake Michigan where the lake effect snow and winds can be brutal. Always proud to wear the Carhartt gear on site.

Cut generously for the American frame. Fits perfectly! Husband is 6’4” wide shoulders, 36” waist, with tall long 38” arms. Ordered the Tall Extra Large. Excellent fit!! We will order again. I ordered a size small which unfortunately is slightly large on me as I am a petite woman, but that's a personal problem. <br />However, I'm so pleased that I bought this sweater. It is probably the warmest sweater I own! <br />I'm a truck driver and I needed something warm that I could wear without a jacket or coat because it gets so hot inside the truck. This sweater has kept me warm enough to wear it alone in the truck as well as when I get out of the truck. <br />I bought this sweater in October and started wearing it and It's still keeping me warm in December! (For reference I live in IL) I've also worn it in the rain and have stayed dry. Couldn't ask for more.

I am a little over a month into owning this hoodie and I have got to say that it does not disappoint. It is heavy enough to be worn without a coat on most crisp fall days and the quality of the material is amazing. I have worn this hoodie almost everyday, somedays all day long and due to that it has been through the wash multiple times and held up perfectly. Will be buying other colors ASAP.
Very warm and durable. It’s also very easy to clean after a day working outside. For a woman that typically wear a large shirt or jacket, a men’s medium was the perfect fit with room for a warmer shirt under it.

Works great! Definitely protects against light rain, haven’t had the chance to test it with heavy rain but I don’t see a problem with it holding up. I’m only giving it 4/5 stars because the medium I ordered seems a little too big. I’m usually a medium or a large so I went with a medium but that one still seems a little big. Doesn’t really bother me because I’m used to wearing loose fitting clothes but overall a great sweater. Would recommend getting 1 size smaller than normal in order to fit snug. Normal size will fit a little loose.

As my first Carhartt hoodie I was worried if the fit was true to size, but an XL fit me just as expected and the rain defender fabric really does work in light rain very well. This thing is so comfy I often sleep in it on accident. It feels sturdy enough to last me for many years. Would highly recommend.
Its nice and heavy. which I guess is to be expected. It is perfect for high winds, the wind doesn't cut through it at all. I've been using it as an in-between jacket since its not 60 degrees but there isn't snow on the ground and it is perfect. It is also so cozy, sometimes you have to break in hoodies that are more heavy duty so they are comfy but not this, straight out of the package comfort.

Quality and durability seem good. Too early to tell though. This garment DOES NOT LIKE STAIN REMOVER. The stain remover doesn’t seem to work well and even leaves a stain itself. Multiple washes did little to help. It runs big. I am usually an XL but LT fit perfect.

If you’re looking for a heavyweight pullover hoodie, this is the one I’d recommend. It’s the perfect weight for colder months. I order one size down from my normal size for the perfect fit. If you want it baggy and slightly oversized order your normal size. I’m 5’9” 149lbs and size small is perfect. I always wash inside out and hang dry. I would like to see more colors available for this hoodie in the future.

Comfortable and quality in make and materials. Resisted light rain but yet to wash it. Nice hoody! Worth the money. I’m 5’6 and stocky so I ordered an XL. It is a little big and could have gone with a large but that could be because it’s sold as loose fit. The sleeves are the right length. If you like it a little more snug go with one size smaller I’m totally happy with it. No complaints. Totally recommend!

QUALITY went DOWN. My 6 year old carhartt hoodies are better quality than the ones I bought last month. Already de-threading. I bought 4 one already has a hole in it from threads coming out and I’ve only worn it 2 times.

My 16 year old loves this sweatshirt and wants another in a different color. The only downside is that the fleecy inside leaves bits on his clothes. Hopefully it will stop shedding soon but otherwise a nice sweatshirt, very warm!
I normally never have anything to complain about when it comes to Carhartt products but in the case of the Loose fit Heavyweight Sweatshirt, I was very disappointed. The "fit" in the imagery on the website was not at all a true representation of the actual. Loose should be changed to extra baggy and "sloppy" fit. I returned it same day I received. I'll still but Carhartt products for their superior quality but I'll take a lot more time researching before I do.

Love the color, weight, and material. The added little pocket inside big pocket is great for phone or wallet, less concern with it falling out. Went out in a drizzle for a few hours never soaked through. Perfect in every way. I would say the only thing I didn’t realize is how much looser the loose fit was, I should have gone down a size. If you teeter between large and XL go with the large in the loose fit, it’s roomy in all the right places.

I live in the PNW so “rain defender“ sounded good. I was not expecting waterproof, but the “rain defender” actually soaks up the water. It does not repel water. And, as it soaks up the water it starts to get heavier.<br /> I had my last Carhartt sweatshirts for 12 years. They are now threadbare and still perform better than the new one. They were 100% cotton and never designed to shed water. I’m still better with them in the rain than I am the new “rain defender“.<br /> As soon as you put the “rain defender” on, you can tell it can’t “breathe“. It is not comfortable to hike in or to work in. I’ve had to resort to wearing my Carhartt cotton duck vest under a rain jacket.<br /> I have been wearing the sweatshirt for a month and the fabric is not going to hold up. I think the “rain defender“ for Carhartt it’s a big fail.<br /> I have been shopping elsewhere for a sweatshirt. For me, a three-piece hood is a must so Carhartt is turning out to be the best of the worst. I will have to go with their mid-weight sweatshirt and hope for the best.<br /><br />Note: I did get the carbon heather color. I am considering another color as they are 75% cotton instead of 55% cotton. With all the other good reviews I wonder if there is that much of a difference in the color/fabric content.*

This is the best sweatshirt for outside work! I live in an area of the upper Midwest that has very cold winters and very large accumulations of snow. It’s a pretty extreme environment. Great hoodie! I did not purchase it for being water repellent. I like a heavy hoodie and this is all Carhartt makes in a heavyweight. So there you have it.

True to size so I never have to return. I would highly recommend carhartt to anyone who wants clothing that last, there is something for everyone.
I love this hoodie. I wear it all the time. It feels like a normal hoodie on the outside and it’s super soft on the unside. But when the water it’s doesn’t absorb at all, it just bounces off. I would definitely recommend.

Without doubt this is my favorite hoodie! It’s super warm and rain seems to just bounce off. This is my go to hoodie all winter. That said it is Warm! This isn’t for early fall. Give me a lightweight Carhartt hoodie for that. But when temperatures drop into the 40°s you will love this. I can wear this outside with just a base layer and a warm shirt well into the 30°s and be warm as toast. Did I mention this is my favorite? Great product.

I live in northern new england and the winters can be pretty brutal. This hoodie does a great job in the fall and spring as a solo layer while also being a good layer under a jacket in the winter months.<br /><br />I find Carhartt struggles with sizing overall and this hoodie is no different. I wear XL and sometimes L in almost every brand and yet Carhartt I'm jumping between M and XL depending on the style. I ended up with a Large Tall and it's just a bit too large. A Medium Tall would be awesome if they made it but as it stands the Medium and Large are just a bit too short in the arms.<br /><br />Rain defender works well enough for a sprinkle or snow but no real rain or wet snow, which is fine for me. I enjoy the little "dip pocket" in the front pouch but I wish the placement was slightly modified as my hand always starts to go into it when I put my hands in the front pouch.
Would have preferred to have an older style from past with a short front zipper but this is a great one as well. The quality and comfort are excellent.

Within weeks there was extreme pilling and lessening of rain protectiveness. <br /><br />I really really like this sweatshirt- it's warm, rain protective, and durable. It keeps me warm when I go out to take care of the animals. It has a hood if it is raining and washes up easily. The thick sleeves keep my arms protected from rabbit scratches when I have to move them from pen to pen. It protects my arms as well as the rose gloves.

You can’t go wrong with this hoodie. I’m 5’6 150lbs and I order a small. Most hoodie my hoodies are medium, because smalls usually fits kind of snug, which makes moving around constantly uncomfortable. The small fit perfect and gives me a lot of room, so if I decided to layer underneath this hoodie it won’t be tight in me. I work in a freezer all day and get pretty cold. With those hoodie and heavy coat I’m<br />Good all day. I can’t wait until fall, so I can order a black one for everyday use.

Carhartt quality comes through once again in this excellent hoodie! Rain<br />defender really works as I was caught outside in a Spring shower; this<br />hoodie sheds water like a duck. I am 5ft. 11in.tall and weigh 185lbs.<br />Since I lift weights on a regular basis I purchased the Large and it fits<br />just fine; I can even wear a couple layers underneath it. If you have a<br />"normal" build a size Medium will do just fine! Check out this Carhartt<br />before you buy any other hoodie!

I purchased a Carbon Heather Rain Defender sweatshirt about 3 months ago. It did not wear well at all. It pilled around the opening of the hood and on the body of the sweatshirt. I have several in black and they are great. I was told that the problem with the Heather Carbon is the composition. It would have been nice to know there is a difference in the cotton/polyester ratio and it may cause the problem that I pointed out above. I would not recommend this product
Unreal product, saved me from getting a skin graft to the entire length of my back after a motorcycle accident. This sweatshirt protected my skin after sliding 15 feet on the pavement. Not an ounce of road rash. Only sad part is the doctor had to cut it off me to apply my arm cast. Would recommend the durability of this product any day.
Super comfortable, warm and great freedom of movement. However the nifty pocket inside the pouch is really small. My phone doesn't fit and if I put smaller items in it my hand doesn't fit to retrieve them.

Ice had this hoodie since November of 2020 and now, 4 months later the zipper has broken. For a company that is "committed" to durability, and charges for it, that certainly isn't the case. I mostly wear this to and from work, I have coveralls at work as it gets quite dirty. Besides that maybe washing it every 2 weeks or so? Either way I expected this to last year's, like many of my much cheaper hoodies.<br /><br />I love the fit, length, and look of this hoodie, but unfortunately not worth the price

Very pleased. It is heavy in weight and warm. I ordered a tall version and it definitely covers tall people. The arm length is perfect. The body length is much longer than expected. Hangs at least 6” below my waist. I’m not used to having a sweatshirt hang so low I would recommend this.

Very nice and durable heavyweight hoodie.. These sweatshirts are much thicker than the mid weight signature series hoodie with Carhartt down the sleeve. The “rain defender” works well with light rain. Sizing is a little different, I am 6’ tall and found I need a large tall in this style but large regular in the mid weight hoodies.<br /> It would be nice if these heavier hoodies were offered in more colors and/or with Carhartt down the sleeve like the others. <br /> My only gripe is the gray depicted in the picture is not what you get...it is a heather gray as it says but the picture shows it a little darker gray like the asphalt gray....figured I had a 50/50 shot that either the description was wrong or the picture. I lost that one!

Looks better in person - the Navy is darker than pictured. Definitely heavy duty high quality but it does run big. I typically wear a XXL shirt so I prefer XXXL hoodies... I have several in that size that fit great. Unfortunately, this one is massive - fits more like a 4X at lest. Should’ve exchanged it but didn’t feel like going through the hassle.

We bought these for our guys as part of a company Christmas gift. There are a few guys that wear Large t-shirts but when getting them a Large sweater, it was quite big. Besides that, they are comfortable, durable, and so warm, especially in light rain or snow. The rain defender is awesome! <br /><br />For the ladies, this sweater is awesome too, considering the rain defender isn't offered in women's styles. I'm 5'10, 145lbs and the small is roomy, but not huge. My other female coworker is 5'8, 165lbs and also wears a small!
I absolutely love the rain defender jacket. Fits perfectly, keeps me toasty. The only thing I don’t understand is that every time I pull it off it rips my shirt off completely. I’ve never in my life had a sweater do that. Still love it.

Absolutely love everything about this hoodie! Great quality, look and feel all round! I am a fairly heavily built guy and am usually an XL in most clothes, yet I opted to buy a Large after reading other people’s reviews. I’m very glad I did as the Large fits perfectly! The reason I say it’s ‘true to size’ is the arms are just right, like a Large. Often I need an XL, but then the arms are too long. It usually annoys me when arms on hoodies or long sleeve t-shirts are too long and get caught in stuff, but this is perfect! To be helpful to others I’m a 45-46 inch chest and 6’2”. I am muscular and mildly overweight. Definitely buy a large if you are similar. The body of the hoodie is slightly baggy, in a good way, and actually makes me look more built than I am. The phone holder is a good concept, but not where I normally like to keep my phone. The only downside is we are going into summer, and it gets hot where I live, so will have to put this away soon, until the end of the year! Booo! Thanks Carhartt for such a great product! I might be tempted to get another next winter anyway.

So far this hoodie is durable and water resistant as advertised. It’s plenty heavy for days between 0-20 in conjunction with appropriate base layers.

Almost daily washing drying ruined the sleeves at the cuffs in less than 6 months. Rain does NOT bead off, hoodie DOES get saturated - it just takes about 10 more minutes of rain to saturate than a regular hoodie.
Husband would not take it off for any reason. I love the color, material and quality. Planning to buy more in the future for his work projects!! Definitely recommend, especially that it keeps dry from the inside.

These are rugged sweatshirts. The Rain Defender isn't "waterproof" but does a very good job keeping you dry in lighter rain.

Love it. Repels watsr great and inside of hoodie stays soft. Did pill after wearing a few times tho but nothing a little shaver can't handle. Hood is big enough to actually cover your whole head so you don't get wet and the smaller pocket works great to hold money or cc without falling out. I already purchased another one just wished we had more color choices in lighter colors....

Should have bought this sooner. Fit is true to size. Much heavier fabric than big-box store hoodies. Body length is longer too covering my lower back much better. Really like the 3-panel hood which fits much better and doesn't gap on the sides. So good I ordered another in gray.

I've been wearing Carhartt almost exclusively for 20 yrs. This sweatshirt has been a disappointment. I get a year out of a sweatshirt before I wear it out. I replaced my last one with a Paxton 100615. It just doesn't fit the same. The hood seems short, like it rides up my forehead, as if its somehow short. Same with the sleeves. They appear maybe 2inches short as well. Shoulders and length are good. A 2XL has always fit me perfectly, and my old threadbare hoodie fits perfect. I dunno what happened, but it ain't right. The quality is great, but the fit is way off.

Can’t say enough good things about this sweatshirt. As warm, comfortable and durable as you would expect from Carhartt. I’m 6’2” and ordered an XL Tall but changed it for a regular XL which after a wash fits perfectly with plenty of room to layer up underneath. Haven’t worn it in the rain yet but it stays warm and dry in the snow.
This hoodie is fantastic. I wear this, a thermal, and a base layer, and I don’t have to wear a jacket— this is great since I have to wear a harness in case of a fall; really cuts down on bulk or excessive tightness.<br /><br />It stands up well against wind and cold temps, and the hood is large enough to fit over my hardhat. I can’t say enough good things about it, will defs be getting another one!

This hoodie is one of the warmest hoodies I’ve ever had! I put it to the rest while skiing and it stayed dry, and kept me very warm! Although it is a little more expensive than your typical hoodie, it is extremely worth it! Normally I wear XL hoodies of different brands, but even a L for the Carhartt hoodie is a little big, so keep that in mind!

hoodie is thick and warm, water resistant for light sprinkle-weather and dries quickly. ive found that it doesn't collect dirt as much I think due to the rain defender material and its also super easy to clean. I am usually a large in womens and ordered a mens medium and its still big on me but perfect when im wearing layers. its definitely a mens fit with the longer torso length in the jacket but it fits fine. inside the main pocket is a mini pocket is shockingly useful too!

This hoodie is mid to heavy weight and super durable. My husband loves it and wears it almost daily. Be careful when drying it because I think I accidentally shrunk it when it was on high.

Looks and feels great. Well made and very warm. Wife got me a 3xl for christmas and it fit well when walking/standing. Im (6' 300lbs) I ordered another one in size 3xl tall. I like them both but the Tall is more comfy when sitting, bending over, reaching, and lounging around. The sleeves are a bit longer and the extra length in the body keeps you covered when you need it.

Typically I take a women’s medium for non-work clothes and a men’s medium for work clothes (for more room). I ordered a men’s small. This fit well - still a little big (long and wide), but I like it a lot.

I got this fir my boyfriend it is his favorite hoodie and it’s the only one that fits him properly. He is super tall so it’s hard to find hoodies that fit him correctly, but the tall sizes they have made all the difference! I definitely recommend it also looks amazing on him.

It’s a nice thick rain resistant sweatshirt but I wear a large in most clothes and the large carhartt rain defender is way too big. I should have got a medium and it would have fit fine. Good durable product though.
Wore this only in NYC during January, got caught in a rainstorm. Sweatshirt got wet but I stayed dry and warm, walked ten blocks in the pouring rain. Perfect product.
As other reviews stated it does run large. I ordered a size L for my normal XL husband. He's 6', 220lb, broad shoulders and the large fits perfect with that extra room to move and stretch. He says its very comfortable and warm. Will definitely be buying more, the quality is excellent. I love that it's not plastered with a huge logo - hate feeling like a walking advertisement.

Stout — when compared to heavyweight hoodies from a variety of makers and a bit heavy in actual weight.<br /><br /> They're not exactly snuggly like couch hoodies, these are made for work.<br /><br /> As for the word "duty", I have two of these that were purchased as factory seconds 8 or 9 years ago and they are still my go-to hoodies. The elastic continues to hold and snap-back. I've alternated wearing these at least 3 times a week, 9 or more months out of the year, almost a decade of work trimming and shoeing horses for a living and a DIY home owner. <br /><br />Most durable hoodies i've ever owned, bar-none!<br /><br /> Wear on the forearms is from grabbing the material and pulling the sleeves up throughout the workday. <br /><br />Rain Defender: I don't remember how many times they were washed before the treatment had worn off, but when it was still functional it would turn misty rain, though heavier drops will plow right through it.

I got one of these in a large back in December and I loved it, but it did fit a little loose. Got another one in medium and fits perfectly. Depending on the day I’ll ware my loose fitting one for a relaxed style or I go a size down from what I usually ware for a more fitted fit.
